Harry and Roark were in their office, each at their desk working in companionable silence, speaking to each other only when they needed clarification on something they came across in the files each was looking through. Hearing thir door slide open, they both looked up as a grim-looking Payton, Kili right behind him, entered, followed by...
"Siress Malcolm?" Roark asked, getting immediately to his feet and moving around his desk as soon as he saw the tears in her eyes. "What has happened?"
"They've taken my baby!" she cried, surging forward.
"Hey, hey," he said easily, calmly, catching her in his arms and leading her immediately to a chair. "Easy now. I need you to calm down for me. Here, take a seat."
Harry was there then, squatting beside the chair she sank into, reaching up to lay a hand on her forearm. "Take a deep breath," came softly as he pulled a square cotton cloth from his pocket, wiping at her tears. "Good. Now, release it slowly...that's it, now draw in another...release."
Roark gave his brother a smile, before returning his attention back to Siress Malcolm. "Better?" he asked when he saw that she had calmed.
She gave a nod, taking the cloth Harry handed her with a warm smile. "Thank you, Lt. Hadrian."
"You're welcome. Tell us what happened. You said they took Kody?"
She nodded. "He was outside playing with his puppy...Thank you, Lt.," she said accepting the mug Kili brought to her and sipping with a sigh.
"You're more than welcome, Siress Malcolm. My Sire is always saying, 'tea is the best thing to give someone that needs to have their nerves settled, boys. Remember that.'."
"You Sire would be right," she told him, sipping again from the mug in her hands. "I had gone in to check on dinner. I was gone only a few centons {minutes] at most. When I came back out, the puppy was dead, and Kody was gone." She reached into her dress pocket to pull out a slip of paper. "This was lying on the puppy."
Roark took the crumpled paper. Smoothing it out, he looked at the words written there in barely readable words. "We have the boy." He looked up, his silver eyes sparking with anger. "Pay, Ki, call everyone in. Use the emergency code. This ends. Now."
Payton and Kili immediately pulled their communicators from their belts, punching in the emergency code and hitting send even as Siress Malcolm began to cry again.
"But why? Why take my Kody?"
"Because Riddle or one of his people will likely have seen us with him. He'll know we'll come after him. Siress Malcolm, I know this will be hard to do, but I want you to go home. I think it will be the best place for you. We will bring Kody home to you."
She sniffled, gave him a nod as she got to her feet. "If you think that would be best." She finished the tea, handing the mug back to Kili. "Please, Lt. Roark, Lt. Hadrian, bring me my baby back."
"That is our intent." The door to his office opened. "Would you like me to send an escort with you? I'm sure--"
"No. I'll be fine, and you will need all of your people to take that monster down," she told him, giving those that had begun to file in a smile as she moved toward the door, then out.
"What's happened?" Severus demanded of the angry, grim-looking Peverell Potter brothers.
Looking around their office and seeing that everyone had arrived, Roark began, "Here's the situation. Riddle has had a five yahren {year} old boy taken from his home. We are going to get him back and put an end to this once and for all." He moved to the map that hung on his wall. "Now, Riddle has several warehouses here, Vermillion Sea Port. No one knew about them because he kept them a secret from everyone but a very few. Jordan, I want you to take a team and begin your search here," he pointed to the southern district of the Sea Port.
Jordan gave a nod as Roark turned. "Tyler, take a second team to this area here," again he pointed, but this time to the east, and at Tyler's nod, his head turned again. "Aiden, take a third team and go here," this time he pointed to the west. "Harry and I will take the North."
"Perfect. Then I think it's a very good time to try out these babies." He lifted the small oblong box he had in his hand. "Dacian sent these over on this morning's supply shuttle."
"What are they?" Colten asked as Severus lifted the lid.
"These," he pulled one out and held it up to show them an earpiece, "are the new communication connection devices that Raphael and Christopher have been working so hard on. This, I think, will be the perfect time to give them a try. Let's see just how well they work. Everyone take one."
They did, placing them in their ears, pulled out their communicators to sync the connection to wireless listening. "Oh...nice," Harry said after the test had been completed. "Now, we also have the homing beacons in our watches, so if you DO find them, DO NOT move in. Activate your beacons and we will converge on that location. We can then make any further plans that we need to once we have determined the layout, and just how many people he has with him."
"Severus, Payton, Ethan, Logan, Fili, Kili, Dylan, and Charlie, you're with Harry and me. Roan, I'd like for you to take Gwydion, Morgan, Uncle Apollo, Uncle Zac, Starbuck, and Boomer. I want you to be with Ardyn and the contingent from the Garrison. Any questions?"
"Sounds like a good plan to me. Take enough men with us, but leave enough here to keep an eye on things...just in case," Alexei told him. "You've gotten quite good at this, kiddo."
"I've had the best teachers," he told him with a grin. "Okay, let's get moving. We have a scared little boy to find and take home to his mother."
"RIGHT!" They all said as one.

It was barely over a centar {hour} later when they entered the North end of the Sea Port. Stopping, they each surveyed the cluster of warehouses in the distance. With silver eyes narrowed, he sent the four warriors they had brought with them from the Garrison out to search the immediate area.
"What are you thinking about so hard, Rory?" Fili asked, watching how his eyes went from one distant warehouse to another, a group of nine.
"I'm thinking," he began slowly, "that he has lost it. He's gotten desperate. He wants...NO, he NEEDS to draw Harry and I out...to draw all of us out. He's also beyond furious now. He wants all of us, but especially me and Harry dead. Rodolphus told me, the last time I saw him, that he and Rabastan had told Riddle it was their intention to kill us in front of him."
"I bet he liked that idea," Severus said wryly.
A chuckle sounded. "Indeed he did. They said he looked quite excited about that prospect."
Now a snort sounded. "Let's just make sure that THAT does not happen. So, they are likely to be with him then?"
"Or, at the very least, nearby," Harry told them as they began to walk toward the first cluster of warehouses.
"Hum..." Roark murmured, head tilting slightly. "I can sense him, sense BOTH of them, so they're not far off. Odd."
"What's odd?" came immediately from a worried Harry.
"Their emotions...they're usually so tightly bound that I can't read them. But today...?" he frowned suddenly as he turned his head to look at Harry. "Something's wrong. Their emotions are all over the place, simmering just beneath the surface. They are both extremely upset about something..." a sudden quirk of his lips. "Oops, he knows I'm trying to read him, he just shut down." He shook his head. "He won't let me in...and now Rabastan just locked me out as well."
"When did you start being able to read Rabastan?" Ethan asked. "And could you tell what has them so upset?"
"I've been able to read Rabastan since he and Harry bonded--"
"WAIT! WHAT?" Ethan turned to Harry. "You and Rabastan are now bonded? How?"
A nod. "One night," a blush stained his cheeks. "Our magic...reacted in a way neither of us expected."
"We can talk about that later, Ethan. Roark? Could you tell why they were so upset?"
"No, not really," he answered. "As I said they have both blocked me from reading them any further, but given the levels of emotion that I DID sense...what I felt simmering...The only thing I can figure is that, whatever it is, it concerns me and Harry."
"Hum..." Harry said suddenly, as he slowly opened his bond to Rabastan further than it already was, "more you than me, I think. You're right that they aren't far off." A smirk. "He just closed the bond. He's not particularly worried, from what little I got, but something has deeply disturbed him."
"And they're angry."
"Angry about what?" Logan asked the brothers, looking at each of them in turn.
Twin shrugs. "No idea. They closed us off as soon as they sensed us looking."
Quiet for a few moments as they continued to walk. "Why this particular boy, do you think?" Severus asked as they turned down a brick walkway that would take them to warehouses ten, eleven, twelve, and thirteen.
