Harry merely shrugged as Rodolphus drew one of his knives and placed the sharp edge to his brother's throat. "Harry and I may very well die here today, but then, warriors have a habit of dying before it is their time to. It's part of the job description."
Roark felt...what was that? A strong sense of doubt, mixed in with a deep sense of...regret? He glanced over at Rabastan, a dark brow arching as, right along with those feelings came the feelings of admiration, of respect.
Something was off. What it was...? : Dolph? Bas? What is it? What are the two of you regretting and doubting so much? :
He saw their reaction to his mental questions. : Nothing we can do anything about even should we want too, : came Rabastan's soft answer into his mind.
His answer prompted him to try to probe them both again in an attempt to find out what was-- : Stop that. : Rodolphus told him. : We will discuss it with-- : he broke off, his body tensing as a side door opened.
Roark turned his head. "Ah...there you are, Ardyn. I was beginning to think you had decided to run and hide yourself away. You probably should have run. You won't like what happens to traitors."
"Not that he would have gotten very far," came the deep-voiced growl, making everyone whirl at the unexpectedness of it to see him step out from behind some crates, his black and scarlet uniform standing out.
"YOU!" Tom Riddle snarled. "HOW?!"
"We've been here all along." He stepped out from behind several packing crates, amber eyes narrowed on Ardyn.
"UNCLE SIRIUS? UNCLE REMUS? What ARE you DOING here?!" they cried as one.
"Tracking our target, of course." Fingers to his forehead in a mock salute. "Hello, boys. Hey, Sniveless, how's it going? OW! REMUS!" he cried, rubbing the back of his head.
"Behave, Sirius." A nod. "Severus." He looked around the warehouse. "Well, this seems to be a bit of a standoff."
"You don't seem to be very surprised to see me. Why ever would I need to run? No one knows--"
"BZZ. WRONG!" Sirius crowed, leaning casually against a box, his eyes moving around, taking in everyone's position, seemingly not concerned at all to see sharp blades at his godson's throat.
"Damn right, he's wrong!" Harry snapped, glaring at him. "Even though you did manage to cover your tracks very well--"
"We'll give him that," Remus said. "Took a good amount of time and work to track down the leads."
Harry looked at him, arching a brow before returning his gaze to Ardyn. "We have suspected from the beginning that you were one of our leaks. We were just waiting on the proof, and here you are."
"WE have all the proof we needed," Sirius said easily.
"You seem unremarkably unconcerned that there are sharp knives as your godson's necks, Black."
"NOT. Just got bigger fish to fry at the micron {second}. We'll deal with that when we're done with this."
"You mean your own informants didn't tell you it was me?"
"Ohh...that was a good question." Sirius tilted his head as he looked at his godson's, when really he was looking at the two Terminators behind them. Both of whom gave barely perceptible shrugs.
"They weren't sure it WAS you, though they, like us, suspected it was all along. They got the information we needed when they dealt with Roderick and Maurice."
"Well, how about that?" Harry said with a smirk of his own. "It seems you were as good at hiding what you were doing as they were...OH! Wait! They're BETTER, as I bet you STILL have no idea who they are."
The sound of furious sputtering and swearing had Roark tilting his head. "Why, Riddle, whatever is the matter with you?"
"Not as smart as he thought he was is my guess," Sirius said with a chuckle.
"Yes, and nice work with Roderick and Maurice. Though it was a bit...messy, wasn't it?"
"INFORMANTS?!!" came the furious screech. "WHAT informants?!"
"The ones you've had in your ranks since just after you set up your base of operation here, of course," Sirius said.
"Uncle," he said, a midnight brow arching as he looked at Riddle. "You mean to tell me you never suspected how we were getting our information? Ardyn, shame on you! You should have told him he had leaks."
A snort. "I thought he knew that someone close to him was supplying you with information."
"Well, I DIDN'T!" the man in question snarled in fury, looking around at his people, eyes narrowed, trying to figure out who it might be.
The sound of whistling, and Riddle turned his head to look at Sirius. "Looking the wrong way."
"He is indeed," came Harry's amused voice.
Riddle's face went red. "You know who they are!"
"Well, of course, we know who they are, have known for...oh...what?" he looked over at his brother. "Several sectars {months}, at the least."
"Um...that sounds about right."
"YOU TELL ME WHO THEY ARE RIGHT THIS CENTON {minute}!!"
"Ouch." He rubbed at his ear.
Roark chuckled at his godfather's antics. "Sorry, Riddle, no can do," Harry said as he too let loose a chuckle. "It's not our place to tell you anything about either of them. That would be for them to reveal, and as they are undercover specialists, I doubt very much--"
"They're here! In this building!"
"Well...DAH!"
"Sirius, do stop it," came Severus' resigned voice. "I realize you're having fun, but now is hardly the time."
"It's the perfect time! Riddle is just realizing he's not nearly as smart as he thought he was."
The face of the man in question had since gone nearly purple with rage. "You know," Roark suddenly observed in a calm voice, amusement dancing in his eyes, even the room was growing incredibly cold, dark... "you really should think about calming yourself down. We wouldn't want you to drop dead from a coronary before your oh so wonderful Terminators can slit our throats, now would we?"
"I know I wouldn't mind," Harry chirped. "It would certainly make things so much easier for everyone if he did."
