Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Guess whose back, back again. WOW it has almost been 7 months since I last updated this story for which I am truly VERY VERY VERY SORRY. RL has been sooooooooo hectic but its calmed down now so I am back. Thank-you to all those reviewers which have emailed me making me get my ass into gear. Thank-you for sticking with this story. The next update I PROMISE will not take another 7 months, maybe 6 though…only joking. I will try to get the next chapters out as soon as possible but before I write the next chapter if this I will be doing the next chapter of ‘A Boy Named Harry’ as that has not been updated in 7 months either but please bare with me and keep reviewing - it’s the only thing that keeps me going. All reviews have been replied to on the review pages.
Also a BIG thanks you to everyone that told me about the end of some of the chapters being cut off. The problem has now been solved but some of you may need to go back and re-read the chapters.
One more thing before I let you get on and read the next chapter I am looking for an author named Roguemessenger I loved her story but it appears to have been kicked off the site and I don’t know where I can find the rest of the story. If any one knows where it is or how I can get in touch with her email me at Sexychick2643609@aol.com or tell me in a review. Its much appreciated. Now on with the story.
Big Thank-you’s to my wonderful beta’s BlueTribalRose and Serpent Of Light, love you guys.
Disclaimer: I don’t own anything. I know, I was shocked too.

Last Chapter:
When Harry heard Draco moan he jerked his head back, his mind only just realizing what his body was doing. He looked up with horror filled eyes.
“Shit, Draco I didn’t mean…”
And with that Harry jumped out of Draco’s reach and ran out of the room, tears beginning to well up in his emerald eyes.
“Harry—”
Draco began, but it was too late, he had already gone. ‘Just when things were starting to get exciting’ Draco lifted a hand to trace round along his swollen lips and he gave a frown. He needed to talk to Harry but he still didn’t know how to get out of here!

Chapter 11 - Questions, Questions
“Where have you been , Malfoy?”
Draco turned to where the freckled faced boy was leaning against the wall at the entrance to the dungeons. Draco sneered at Ron’s triumphant expression.
‘Guess he found Harry then’
“What do you care, Weasel?” Draco folded his arms firmly across his chest, his pose exuding arrogance, but for some reason this did not have its usual effect on the freckled faced boy nor did his words.
“Tsk, tsk, Malfoy.” Weasley shook his head. “I thought we were past all that.”
Draco frowned, ‘What the…’
“Screw you, Weasel!”
Ron pushed off from the wall and crossed his arm, mirroring Draco’s pose. Draco shook his head and moved forward, ready to go and find Harry, but Weasley’s arms shot out in front of him, resting against the wall and blocking the his way. Unfortunately the corridor was very small, the stairs on one side and a wall on the other…Draco wasn’t going any where.
“No, screw you, Malfoy.” Ron cocked his head to one side to monitor Draco’s reaction. Silver eyes flared and narrowed in disgust but still Ron did not move.
“I suggest you move Weasley, or…”
“Or what Malfoy, you’ll get Harry to tell me off?” Ron had the audacity to scoff at Draco, which just resulting in Draco getting even more infuriated with him. Draco pushed against Ron’s arm, which hadn’t moved from its (spot on the wall.
“I don’t think so Malfoy, you can’t touch me.” Ron moved so he was stood in front of Draco, who moved to his right but was quickly cut off as Ron’s other hand came to rest on the other side of the corridor. Draco took a moment to smirk at Ron, who was standing arms and legs spread wide to block Draco, making him look like an abnormal starfish.
“Harry doesn’t like you any more, he ran through here half an hour ago almost crying…”
“Crying!” Draco’s eyes widened in shock.
Ron nodded and grinned once more at the brief change in the boy in front of him.
“You really pissed him off, whatever you did.”
Draco narrowed his eyes once more, remembering who he was with.
“For your information Weasel, I didn’t do anything.”
“Sure you didn’t.” Ron nodded and stepped away from Draco.
Once Ron’s hand was out of the way Draco pushed the other boy out of his way and strode down the corridor scowling as he turned back to find Ron smirking at him. ‘What’s his problem?’ Draco climbed the stairs quickly and went straight to his room, where Harry would hopefully be.
“Harry?”
Draco pushed the door slowly open and peeked his head around, but the room was empty. Draco scowled and walked down to Harry and the Weasel’s room, again pushing the door slowly open, but again the room was empty.
“Ha, you won’t find him in there, ferret.”
Draco turned. Weasley was standing in the corridor, leaning against the banisters; a wide grin plastered across his ugly freckled face. Draco tried his best to ignore the look Weasley was giving him and simply raised one of his slender eyebrows at the boy in front of him.
Ron scowled when he did not get the expected reaction but continued anyway…
“He’s left.”
Draco raised his other eyebrow.
“Gone. Too bad, Malfoy; it looks like you’re all alone again.”
“What do you mean, gone?” Draco questioned. Harry could have gone anywhere.
“Remus is taking the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher once again with Sirius as his assistant so they have all gone to Hogwarts to get their quarters sorted out.”
‘WHAT!’
Draco’s mind was reeling. Harry had just gone off and left him for no reason. Sure they had kissed…Draco felt a brief warmth spread through his body at the memory…but that was no reason for him to go running away leaving him with a house of Weasleys to face.
Ron watched Draco intently, scowling as he got no reaction from the boy. He had hoped that Draco would have do something, anything to get him in Harry’s bad books once again.
Draco shrugged his shoulders.
“I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow before I speak to him then,” With that Draco sauntered out of Harry’s room, glaring at Ron as he passed him before turning into his room and shutting the door behind him.
Once he had muttered a silencing and locking spell he turned his back to the door and kicked the first thing in front of him, which just happened to be the bed.
“What the hell…”
Draco placed his hands on the foot of the bed and hung his head. Then he stood up again, realizing how much he looked like Severus when he did that. Sighing Draco sat on the floor leaning back against the foot of the bed and crossing his legs.
“Okay.” Draco let out a long, slow breath as he tried to take in the conversation he had just had.
“So Harry is gone.”
What did that mean? Did it mean Harry didn’t like him after all? Was Harry just being friendly? But then why did they kiss? Was it an accident? Is that why Harry ran off? Did it mean Harry was scared? If so, scared of what? Draco would never hurt him, but did Harry know that? Would Harry ever talk to him again? Did Draco need to go and talk to Harry? If so, when? Sooner rather than later? How soon? Should he wait? Should he give Harry time to cool down? Did Harry need time to cool down?
“I don’t know, I just don’t know.”
Draco dropped his head into his hands. All the questions whirling around in his brain where starting to confuse him, and what’s more he didn’t know the answer to any of the questions; which was even more confusing.
“Maybe I just need to talk to him.”
When? Where? How would he get him on his own? Would Harry even want to talk?
New questions piled into his brain, none of which he could answer. Maybe it would be better for the both of them if they just pretended this summer never happened.
“No.”
Draco said firmly to himself. He didn’t want to pretend this summer had never happened, which then meant he had to think of something to do about Harry.
Draco lifted his head as his locking spell was removed from the door and Severus walked in.
“Hello, Draco. I’ve just been getting the last of your school things. Most of it, like your trunk with your clothes in, is at school in your dormitory and the rest of it is here.”
Severus produced a shrunken package from his pocket and handed it to Draco, who nodded his thanks and placed the package in his pocket.
“What is wrong?”
Draco looked up at Severus, who was staring down at him, a questioning look on his face.
“Harry left.” Draco dropped his head back down, but began to pull himself to his feet in the most un-Malfoyish way possible. Severus scowled at his dramatic change in character.
“So?”
“What do you mean ‘so?’” Draco muttered as he began to dust himself off, wondering why he had sat on the dirty floor in the first place when there was a perfectly good chair on the other side of the room.
‘Because it’s Harry’s chair’
Severus shook his head. He couldn’t believe Draco genuinely liked the Golden Boy.
“Listen Draco, you’re too good for that little Golden Boy and you know it. I don’t know what you see in him. And as for trying to get into a relationship with Potter…are you feeling alright? What happened the ‘I hate that Gryffindor wonder boy’ Draco?
Draco looked up angrily. Severus didn’t know Harry. He had no right to judge him.
“He’s not like that.”
“If you say so, Draco. He’s just filled your head with Gryffindor rubbish. Are you going to follow him round now and become just like the rest of his gang? No, you are not. He is pathetic, Draco. You are not to go anywhere near him.”
“Yes, I will.” Draco said firmly.
“No, Draco, I forbid it.”
“You can’t do that. You can’t tell me what to do. You are not my father!”
Severus blinked, stunned by Draco’s outburst.
“I should be.”
“No, you shouldn’t. I don’t want you to be my father. I already have one, or have you forgotten that? Is that why you brought me here? You can’t get anyone to shag you so you thought you would just take anyone’s kid?” Draco shouted with venom.
“If I hadn’t brought you here, Draco, you would have died!” Severus shouted back equally as loud.
“Good. The whole world would probably have been a lot better off.”
Severus scowled at Draco, willing himself to stay calm, but he was fighting a losing battle.
“Fine. Next time your ‘father’ is beating you senseless, Draco, I’ll leave you and you can see what happens. If you want to live with someone like that then it’s fine with me.”
Draco stood with his mouth slightly open as he watched his godfather storm out of the room, and jumped as the door was slammed shut. This day was getting worse and worse by the second.

Harry didn’t know how long he had been running for when he finally staggered out of the dungeons his face wet with tears. He only managed a few paces into the hallway when he collided with a warm solid object. Fearing it was Draco, Harry hastily wiped his tears away, only to look up and find Ron staring down at him.
“What has that bastard done to you?”
Harry, who was shaking slightly, only managed a small shake of the head before Ron started to move away from him.
“I’m going to get Sirius.”
Harry could only watch as Ron ran up the stairs, taking them two at a time. Once Ron was out of sight of Harry his face broke into a wide grin; this was just the excuse he had been looking for to separate Harry and the ferret.
Seconds later the sound of footsteps running down the stairs stopped only when Sirius, Remus and Ron reached the ground floor to find Harry leaning against the wall, his eyes red and puffy.
“See!” Sirius scowled at Ron, whose face dropped. Remus silently ushered Ron away into the kitchen, leaving Sirius to comfort Harry.
“Harry?” Sirius said uncertainly. Dark wizards and Azkaban he could deal with but a moody teenager was a completely different matter.

Remus looked up from the Daily Prophet as the kitchen door exploded open.
“We’re leaving.”
Knowing he would get the full story later Remus stood and folded the paper placing it neatly on the kitchen table.
“Do you want me to help you pack?”
Sirius shook his head.
“Most of our stuff is already packed, I just need to do Harry’s.”
Remus nodded and was just about to pick his paper back up when Sirius turned his head to talk to someone on the other side of the door. A second later he reappeared and quickly scanned the room.
“No, just Remus.”
Sirius held the door open and Harry shuffled down the steps, his gaze focused on the floor.
“Take a seat, Harry. Do you want a drink?”
Harry nodded as he sat down, staring at the tabletop as Remus moved to get him a drink.
‘What’s wrong with him?’ Remus mouthed to Sirius, who shrugged back.
‘Malfoy.’ Remus nodded to Sirius, who left the kitchen to pack Harry’s things.

Harry stumbled as he stepped out of the green flames, announcing to the empty halls that he had arrived back at Hogwarts. Apparently Remus was taking up the position of DADA teacher again, back by popular demand, this time with Sirius as his assistant.
‘We will always be around’ Sirius had said, which at the moment was a very good thing. Harry stared around what he guessed was the living room. Tastefully decorated, mostly beige with the odd brown added in. One chocolate brown comfy looking sofa sat in the middle of the room, facing the fireplace he had just come tumbling out of. A clear glass coffee table stood in front of the sofa. A desk was placed by the only window in the room and was already heaped with papers. Most of the walls were covered by bookshelves of some distinction, piled with books of every shape, size and colour.
“Remus likes to read.”
Sirius appeared with Remus not far behind him and Harry moved as they began to un-shrink their bags, sorting out whose was whose and where it needed to go.
“Your’re staying here tonight Harry, okay?”
Harry nodded as he wandered over to the window, which had a clear view of the quidditch stands; it was either that or sleep in an empty dormitory in an empty tower, which somehow didn’t appeal that much to him.
“Harry, it’s going to take us a while to get this stuff sorted out, so have a wander or read a book.”
“Actually, I’m a bit tired. Do you mind if I have a bit of a nap?”
“No, go ahead, the bedroom is just through there.”
Harry nodded and moved in the direction of the bedroom, shutting the door behind him. The bedroom had been decorated in the same colors as the lounge and Harry toed off his shoes and removed his cloak before climbing into the double bed, wrapping the chocolate colored sheets around him.
He wasn’t tired, he just needed time to think. Had he ruined his and Draco’s friendship? Did Draco want more than a friendship?
Harry couldn’t think straight. He had ruined everything he and Draco had, even if it was just a friendship. Harry knew he liked Draco but Draco could never like him in that way. He wasn’t good enough for Draco. How could someone like that ever find a scruffy, ugly orphan attractive…it was impossible. It couldn’t happen.
But why had Draco kissed him back?
pqpqpqpqpqpq
“Harry, we need to talk.” Draco’s tone was serious, making Harry, who was lying face down on his bed, raise himself onto an elbow and look over to the doorway where Draco was standing. He wasn’t sure how Draco had managed to get in or how long he had been thinking, but Draco was there and from the sounds of it, it was going to be a very interesting conversation.
Draco took a step into the room and closed the door behind him. Harry watched nervously as locking and silencing charms were placed on the door. He shifted into a sitting position and began to play with the sleeve of his robes, intentionally ignoring the other boy in the room. Harry could feel Draco’s eyes upon him and he shifted again under his silent scrutiny.
“Why do we need to talk? I said I was sorry. I didn’t mean to—to…you know.”
Harry looked up at Draco, who was leaning against the door, a blank expression on his face. Harry gave a small sigh.
“I understand if you don’t want to be friends any more.”
Draco moved away from the door until he was standing at the foot of the bed.
“You’re right,” he began as he absentmindedly brushed at the bed hangings with his hands, picking off invisible bits of dirt. “I don’t want to be friends any more.”
Harry softly nodded his head as he turned away from Draco, trying to ignore the wetness forming in his eyes. He had been right, how could he ever have even dreamed that Draco Malfoy of all people could like him. Harry didn’t deserve Draco, he didn’t, Draco was too good for him.
“I understand,” he managed to croak out before the knot in his throat became a little too tight. He wasn’t good enough. That hurt.
Draco moved round the bed until he was standing in front of Harry.
“Not just friends, any way.”
