To PHGE, may the group from which we were born rest in peace
After the incident with Auror Goldsmith, the forces at and within the Ministry of Magic had all learned to leave Mrs. Potter alone. Harry, too, had commended his wife on the now infamous slap. She blushed to the root of her hair, literally, and passed on that a few agonizing minutes later.
That was two weeks ago. In that time, the couple had read through mail containing offers and ads for endorsements. The two had agreed to look each offer over with a fine-tooth comb and, not just what it looked like on the front cover.
The piles, however, were growing ever larger, and ever greater. Tonks, in particular, had a pile up to her heaving bosoms, most of them from fashion magazines. There were the regular offers like "Wogue" which covered the latest fashions for the witch. She also had offers for Seventy-teen, a Wizarding equivalent to seventeen, which covered the fashions for the standard witch that wanted to go back to their roots.
The last offer, which Harry abruptly burnt to the ground as soon as he heard it, was from Playwizard Magazine asking her to do a nude photo shoot using her metamorphmagik powers.
She grinned as she teased him of how she had been entertaining the idea. Then, silently stirpping down to her knickers, Tonks said, "would I look better like this for the photo shoot?" turning her hair to a long, dirty blond, letting it cover her breasts as the nipple peaked out. Harry gulped and said, "Tonks, that... is amazing, but... it's not you."
She smiled as she saw her husbands evident reaction to her changed state and was glad she could make him nervous and excited. Then she took her previous state, her green eyes and pink hair mixing, in Harry's opinion, to make his wife.
He smiled as he remembered the special form she had used the first time they consummated their marriage, and looked at his wife, envisioning her true form.
Reaching over to his near naked wife, Harry smiled as he watched her read over an offer. her face brightened as the letter continued and Harry was shocked to see a look of bewilderment, and anticipation setting in. She handed him the letter and watched, as his fears and worries were answered in one fail swoop.
Dear Mrs. Potter
It has come to the attention of the Hogwarts Board of Governors that you are an eligible and capable auror. As is the case of last year, Hogwarts is without a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Albus Dumbledore has asked some of the finest names in Wizarding History to teach, being turned down on account of the rising threat of He-Who-Must-not-Be Named.
When your name, as well as your status as an honor came to our attention, it was decided that you would be the perfect candidate for the unseated post, as this would deter any Ministry interference.
If you accept this offer, please come to the offices of Blake, Black and Blake: Attorney's to read over the offer.
The Hogwarts Board of Governors
After a few minutes, color returned to her face. She looked at her husband and smiled, asking him silently whether this would be a good idea for them.
Looking at her, Harry smiled as he answered that it was her career and her life, and that simply because they had married did not give him reason to dictate that. She smirked as if she had won some great battle and ran over to Harry, crushing his with her lips.
Harry, on the other hand, figured he'd said something right as he picked up the next offer.
Dropping it in shock, Harry's eyes glazed over as she picked up the letter and smirked. "So, you and PlayWitch? Should I be jealous?"
He glared at the letter and said, "nope" before burning it as he had done earlier with hers.
She smirked at him, knowing full well that he was surprised to even get such an offer from any organization. She was used to them, though, having gotten them for the past six years as a form of ritual she had to accept lest gain their wrath.
The offers covered the floor, from simple things like backing and financing a corporation for a thousand galleons. Harry had no problem with these, and set these to the side, while Tonks put others, that covered a wide area and larger sums into one pile that would be decided upon in a individual basis.
"Harry, you might want to take a look at this one" she said calmly as Harry looked up to take the official looking letter from her. She smiled as he took the letter, and smiled even wider at the look on his face. She sighed as a look she had long lost, the look of utter freedom gained in doing your favorite pastime crossed his face.
As the letters dwindeled lower and lower, until they were virtually non-existant, Harry kept the letter close to him. As he opened the last letter, placing it in the "to be determined" pile, Harry stood, his bones cracking at the slightest movement, and said, "so, what do you think?"
She looked at her own letter, offering her a position in the school and back at his and smiled. "I think it'll be a good idea. All you have to do is endorse the broom, and I get to live with my husband."
"And about these?"
She looked at the letters around them and sighed. "We'll respond to them tomorrow, Harry."
He nodded. Looking at the clock, the warning of 'Go to bed while you have the chance' was displaying for the both of them.
The next morning, the couple awoke out of breath from their morning shower and blushing at the curious, and knowing smirks on the faces of Grimmauld Place. As Tonks sat down, Harry holding her chair as she did, the smirks increased ten-fold. The looks on the faces of the adults in the room were both astonishing and, in the case of one greasy-haired bastard, revolting.
Finally, the Headmaster entered the room. Taking a quick glance around the room, the man looked at each and every person individually. As Molly Weasley set the food in syncronous positions, the people 'tucked in', rather ravenously by three of the males at the table.
As the table cleared, the Headmaster looked around the room and stared at the students. 'So it's a dismission, eh?' Harry thought sardonically. As Hermione, Ron and Ginny made to go upstairs, the matron of the family, in her sultry voice 'suggested' that Harry too follow.
Tonks was shocked. He'd saved the precious order by marrying when he was sixteen, had... in her opinion, some great sex to prove they were married, and been emancipated, but he was basically told to buzz off now that it was over.
She looked to her husband to see his reaction. It was one of understanding. He looked around the table and, as Hermione stood tapping her foot impatiently, looked to the Headmaster.
"I believe his glare was a signal for you to leave, Potter."
Tonks stood and said, "Well, he didn't look at me, Severus."
Harry laughed. His wife was blushing as she realized it was Harry the man was talking too. Harry stood and walked over to his wife and said, "no, I believe I have every right to be here."
The room gasped as one as Harry implied he would be staying. The Headmaster, in his total want to remain impartial, decided to see how Harry handled this situation.
"Harry, dear, you can't stay here. You're not old enough, and we adults will be the ones to fight the war." Molly smiled in her simpering way.
Harry smiled. "Mrs. Weasley, as far as the law and my wife is concerned, I am an adult. So,as I see it, I've been fighting since I was a child. I, more than any of you, have a right to decide what is going to happen with Voldemort."
"Potter, I have told you before to call not use the Dark Lord's name! You are an incompetant child with such ignorance, that your ignorance knows no bounds! How about, instead of actually fighting us on this, go before you cause another death. I'm sure your dogfather... oh I mean Godfather would want you to listen to the older and wiser of the people in the room. To even think you're a match for the Dark Lord is so arrogant of you, it astounds me as to how your wife can even contemplate sleeping in the same bed as you."
Harry glared at the potions master. "I've only ever heard Death Eaters refer to Voldemort as the Dark Lord, Professor. Are we really sure you're on our side? And... sure... my mistakes have indirectly killed people... I've even taken a life before... but... at least I did so unconsciously. You, on the other hand, used to enjoy taking lives, Professor. So, I would not be talking of Sirius' death as it were nothing."
A snicker ran though the table as Alastor said, "Finally, someone that gets it!"
Kingsley was next to step up to the challenge.
"Harry, we know you mean well, but can you honestly say, that in the time you've been married, that Tonks has even tried to train you? I mean, I'm all for you joining when you've had the proper training and we're sure of your abilities."
Harry snorted. "Of course my wife hasn't trained me Kingsley. She and I have been busy doing other things that the Order could not."
"And whats that, Potter, sticking your tool into her?"
Tonks blushed. "Well, Severus, if you want to know we have been doing that, but we've also went over the assets in our accounts, stock in our companies, and looked at the various offers from companies or upstarts looking for a bit of... shall we say, help? I even saw a letter, carefully worded, from T.R. Malfoy, asking for an advance of ten thousand galleons to start a business. Harry burnt it to the ground... just like my offer to PlayWizard, and smirked."
Harry's face burned red as she finished telling the Potions Master off. "Plus, considering the fact that I've faced Voldemort more times then most of you combined gives me a pretty narrow advantage over him. I mean... considering that I've faced him, or a memory of himself,at least five times by my counting and lived, I'm sure that I'm more experienced than anyone other than Professor Dumbledore, Mad-Eye and Snape."
"That's Professor Snape you insolent brat!"
"I'll start calling you Professor, Snape, when you learn how to teach. Now, I'm sure that any discussion of school will be asked for a later date so let's leave it at that."
A quiet snicker followed from the students still in the room watching Harry. He beamed as he heard Ginny shout "hear hear!"
"But that still does not answer why you are here, Harry." Mr. Weasley asked Harry outright, hoping to distill the conversation.
He looked at the man and smiled. "It's simple, Mr. Weasley, I'm the only one that can defeat Voldemort, so why shouldn't I be involved with the planning on how to beat him? I know everyone sees me as a child, even Dora sometimes... but as I know for fact that while Professor Dumbledore could fight him, he could not utterly kill him. So... I figure if the Order is going to basically run my life until the wars over, I'm damn well going to have a say in what happens, and hopefully make it known that I am not a weapon to anyone here."
A derisive snort from the other side of the room drew attention to Ron. He was grinning. "Well, I could have told you that, Harry mate."
That got it. Reactions ranged from Snape's "arrogant as always" to Mrs. Weasley's sobs of pure anguish. The Aurors that didn't know, Kingsley and Mad-Eye, were already in conversation over the training he would need, and Tonks simply stood idly by while the Headmaster looked at the room with his "quite, I'm old and moody" glare.
"Harry, it would be best to explain yourself, while the others go to bed."
Harry nodded at the Headmaster. "Well, to sum it up, there's a prophesy that states that only I can kill Voldemort, and only he can kill me. I figure if I were to get hit with an Avada Kedavra right now, I'd be hurt sure, but it wouldn't kill me."
The room grew quiet as Tonks snorted. She said, "well, obviously that's what we were protecting last year, right? I seriously don't see the problem here, my husband, and Lord Potter stated his intent on remaining at the meeting."
Harry looked at the Headmaster. He sighed. "Alright, he can stay, but if I find you have told anyone what is discussed here today, I will have to revoke your, and yours Nymphadora, admittance into the Order."
Harry nodded.
"Well then, let us get this meeting of the Order of the Phoenix underway. As you can tell, we have a new member with us tonight. What old business do we have to discuss?"
Tonks watched boredly as Arthur Weasley stood, his form taking an instant and immediate quiet from the group.
"The Ministry is growing impatient with the lack of resistance to the Death Eater movement as Minister Fudge is coining this era. He has withdrawn his support from the war effort, as is the case around the time of an election. He is hoping to get someone to back him for a re-election into office."
She stood up too. "Also, Auror forces has dropped ten percent in the last week. We've been ambushed, two died in the attack on my former home. We also had a hell of a time questioning a woman that witnessed the crime, her memory was modified to resemble a gangster attack on the locals.
Also, Draco Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange were found in a holding cell, starving and dehydrated, holding a pair of my pink silk panties."
The room was quiet at the proclamation. Harry's reaction, on the other hand, more than made up for the quiet atmosphere that had taken over. He was pissed, anyone could see that.
"Apparently, they were involved with the raid on my home, hoping to catch us off guard."
Harry nodded. "That makes the most sense. We probably need to move your family, Dora, before they are attacked."
She nodded. "The thought had crossed my mind, Harry."
He frowned. "There was also the fact that the male Death Eaters raped and tortured women and little girls before killing them. I'm not sure who all was there, but each Death Eater needs to be questioned and given the maximum muggle sentence for that crime, even if it contradicts with magical law."
Snape frowned. "I was not told of the attack you mention, are you sure it even occured, or are you just taking your husband's word for it?"
Harry smiled. "No, it happened. I was Voldemort at the time, though he didn't know I was there. I felt what he felt, I saw what he saw. After that, we learned of the attack. Oh... and Draco was involved with the acts too, Tonks."
She flashed him a look that said, "Later". "See what I mean, Headmaster. He isn't as informed as you'd have us believe. Severus sits here, week after week, demanding to be let in on the simplest of things, but in my opinion, his usefulness is wearing thin."
The man simply ignored her protests.
Finally, after Moody's account of a muggle raiding party, of which Severus admitted he was involved in, the Order moved on.
The Headmaster called for 'new' news. Tonks smiled. It was Harry's time to shine. He stood and, making sure each and every eye was on him said, "We've inherited everything. At the time this will was made, Sirius was in Azkaban and thought betrayed by everyone, including Remus.
According to his will, we inherited a total of ten billion galleons, not including what I've yet to see about my parents. We gained majority percentile in seventy... eighty different and diversified companies. The net worth of these companies is somewhere in the trillions when added together.
Also, we've had an... interesting development. She" here he pointed at Dora, "can stil change her form. Apparently when I asked her to change it locked her in place, but after I told her it was her decision, she has full mobility."
The Headmaster beamed. "That's absolutely marvelous. I see that asking you to interrupt the reading was necessary. I am glad we have kept these assets out of the Death Eater's hands."
Harry nodded his agreement as Tonks clasped hands with him. "Also, on a different note, I have been offered a position at Hogwarts as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, effective as soon as I sign the contract. Apparently the fact that I married a student was overlooked by the Board of Governors."
Harry laughed. "Well, luckily, Defense is by far my best subject."
The Headmaster snorted. "If by the grades I've seen on your O.W.L's my dear boy, Defense is an area of expertise."
Harry blushed. "Anyway, after that, I guess all I have left is to swallow my pride and open my parents' will, later that is."
The Headmaster nodded. "It would be best, as your birthday is coming up soon. Anymore news?"
Moody smirked. "Yeah, I have some news Albus. Apparently some Death Eaters were seen moving around Diagon Alley today. They were looking for something, poor Filander was basically beaten to a bloody pulp because he didn't have it. I don't know what it would be, or even if it's worth worrying about, just figured I'd let you know."
Kingsley sighed. "We lost two aurors at the demonstration today, Albus. They were two of the best there are. Dawlish and Coxe. The Minister took it personally for some reason. Also, there are rumors going around that he is about to cut the budget in half for Auror recruitment. I honestly believe that your decision to let the man stay in office during the war was for the worst.
The Headmaster sighed. "Yes, I believe you are right, Kigsley. I will have to have a talk with him, of course, but I believe that I can get Cornelius straightened out."
"Why not just remove him from office?"
"It would cause to much disrest, and the chances of getting a non-Death Eater are slim Harry."
Harry sighed.
"The Dementors have left Azkaban. There are two left on the entire island, and they've beenletting Death Eaters that Fudge send there go, but sucking the souls of the guards out before they can leave. We've lost another three in the last few weeks.
"Also, I heard that Lucius has 'escaped' Azkaban. The way it was said in the office made it clear that Lucius was in good with the Minister again, Albus. It's hard to believe it, but Fudge has passed a new law stating that anyone priorly cleared of being a Death Eater was to remain unwatched until such time as they slip up.
It is clear to me he is unfit to run the Ministry." Kingsley said in his official voice.
Arthur sighed. "I concur. He's given warning to several department heads, including me, that our departments will soon be shutting down, Headmaster. The Muggle Relations office, the Goblin Liaison office, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts office, the Misuse of Magic office and, in an unconfirmed rumor, they are cutting funding to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He claims that since You-Know-Who is not back, cutting these departments will be a show of continuity to the community, who will be secure in the knowledge that the Ministry for Magic is working for them.
The Headmaster sighed. "Yes, Arthur, I see that Cornelius is becoming a problem."
"The Dark Lord is plannning another Dark Revel, Albus."
A gasp ran through the entire room. Snape smirked as if this were a great victory. The onlyone that had remain unaffected was Harry, who simply paled.
"When?" he, Harry, asked. The man sneered as if it were a great burden to unleash his answers upon the boy.
"I do not know, Potter. He still does not trust me, as I did at one time betray him. All I know is that I am to prepare all sorts of potions for the Dark Lord. I believe he has a Dark Ritual he is going to perform at the revel.
Harry nodded. "Yeah, I have to agree. The last time, he did something that lets dark creatures obey him. It was sort of a... Imperious Curse. Of course, I'd rather watch him in immense amounts of pain through the rituals than to actually see the revels itself."
"I too agree, Potter. Anyone subject to the revels has my symphathy, well... other than you of course."
Harry snorted at the man as the Headmaster placed his head in his hands. "Very well, that will be enough, Severus. I thank you all. Now, is there any voting needed to take place?"
"Yes Albus," smirked Moody, "it's obvious we need to get rid of Fudge. He's becoming complacent and lazy, wanting to sit back and take the glory but not be involved in the fighting. So who do we want to represent the Order as our candidate for Minister for Magic?"
The man sighed. "I do not have any idea, Alastor."
"Well... I suggest we think on it and vote as old business next meeting."
"Very well, let it be recognized the five hundredth seventy fifth meeting of the Order of the Phoenix closed at... one 'o clock A.M. Meeting adjourned."
With that, they all stood up, making their way to their respective houses and beds.
