Label: Humping Hermione

Whatever Lockhart's last secret memory has in store for me, I know I am not prepared for it. But I must endure it anyway. And then, it will be over. I wonder if, perhaps, it would not be better for myself to be Obliviated of experiencing these memories. Usually I am, by principle, against the use of Obliviation to forget tough memories. Those memories make me a stronger person, and remind me of what I'm fighting against and what I must avoid to maintain my integrity as a human being. But then, my line of work as an Auror is unique, and having the knowledge that those memories grant me is a particular advantage when it comes to tracking down the filth of the Wizarding World who thrill to commit the very sort of acts I'd rather not have a need to remember. Even so, with these particular memories, I think I may be able to forgive myself for forgetting them. But I will refrain from deciding that just yet.

The memory begins in Lockhart's office, and - for once - he is alone. Though not for long. There comes a knock on the door, and when it opens, the mousy brown-haired girl from a much earlier memory (identity: Hermione Granger) peeks around the edge of the door. Lockhart invites her in for a seat, and asks what's on her mind. What follows is a very peculiar conversation, the contents of which is relevant to the events of this memory, so therefore I shall attempt to paraphrase the dialogue.

Lockhart: Ah, Hermione Granger! The star pupil of my second year class. What brings you to my office?

Hermione: Sir, I'd like to ask you about the Chamber of Secrets. I overheard you saying that you know where it is.

Lockhart: Yes, I've been there a few times. (He says this with a curious grin.)

Hermione: Can you take me there?

Lockhart: Silly girl! The Chamber of Secrets is a metaphor. It is a symbol for a young girl's most secret chamber, the one inside of which a giant, restless snake is intended to rest. (What a vile imagination this man has!)

Hermione: Well, then, er, how do I open it, Professor?

Lockhart: So glad you asked, my dear girl. There are a number of strategies that could be employed, to various and uncertain effect. Tell you what - I have a rare book in my possession that could help you learn to open your Chamber of Secrets. I'll lend it to you on one condition: you must keep it absolutely secret. It contains knowledge about much dark magic, and I am sure the Headmaster would be furious if he found out I let a student so young take a look through it.

But, I have a feeling I can trust you. You are, after all, the brightest witch of your age. In fact, you remind me of myself at that age. Exceptionally gifted. Uncommonly motivated. It would be cruel to keep this knowledge outside the grasp of your curious mind. So, do we have a deal? Will you keep the book top secret?

Hermione: Yes, Professor Lockhart, I will.

Lockhart: Alright, then. Here you go. Give it a look - in private - and be sure to report back to me soon with the multitude of questions I am sure you are going to have.

Hermione. Yes, Professor. Thank you.

Lockhart: Now then, off you go.

Lockhart hands the girl a book titled Eroticke Fetishes, and she leaves the office with it. This is not actually a forbidden text, and much of its contents would not be considered dark magic - although it does tend to frequently attract the attention of an unsavory sort. But providing underage wizards access to the book is another matter entirely, and is a very serious crime. Sex Magic is strictly forbidden to witches and wizards under the age of seventeen, and adults exposing them to it - much less practicing it with them - are subject to the severest of penalties.

It is very curious that Lockhart has changed his M.O. for this girl. I could believe that it is a combination of his growing confidence and the particular qualities of this one girl. I wonder if he is growing bored of the ease with which he has managed to bed his last victims, and that now he wants to challenge himself to see if he can make one without the potion. Well, he already raped one without it, but the idea of luring a little girl into his clutches by her own volition must be tantalizing to him - if also dangerous.

Consider the strategies Lockhart has employed. In particular, note how he has flattered the girl to get her on his side. Then he provides her with secret information - fooling her into believing that keeping it a secret protects HER interests. Now she must feel special, like an insider, privy to top secret knowledge. But her curiosity will soon be turned on her, and the knowledge she desires will lead her straight into Lockhart's trap. The question on my mind is whether Lockhart will blow it, or if he'll go the whole way and manage to brainwash the girl into believing her victimization was desired, even pleasurable - without the use of magic. It's the ultimate psychological domination.
