Malfoy Manor

The snake like eyes turned on the messenger, wand outstretched. "What do you mean all the Malfoy's are gone?" Voldemort hissed.

Theodore Knott Sr. Groveled before the Dark Lord shaking. He had tried to find Draco at Hogwarts, when Lucius never showed, then searched all known Malfoy locations and could not located Lucius, Narcissa or Draco, they had vanished.

"M-m-my Lord, They are gone, fled, I cannot find them by magic or otherwise." Knott stammered.

Voldemort pressed his wand to the dark mark on his for arm, calling all followers to him. He waited, agitated, and in a black mood.

Bellatrix of course was the first to arrive, stepping forward to gaze adoringly at her master, before seating herself close. Next was Crabbe, Goyle, Rudolphus, Fenrir, Snape and a multitude of others looking equally humble, mildly sick, or maddeningly insane. Only the Malfoy's were missing. Bellatrix’s face fell immediately, "Where is Cissy, Master?"

Voldemort glared at her and Bellatrix shrank back. "The Malfoy's have betrayed us, and have left our company, they are now Enemy number 3 under Harry Potter and Dumbledore. Aim to kill, I need them not for my plans and purposes." He paused to pet Nagini before continuing, "Severus, The boy is still at School I suppose?"

"Yes, Master, he is still there and failing as usual," Snape sneered.

"What about Draco, Knott says he too has gone missing?" Voldemort hissed violently at the end.

I noticed him missing last night, My lord, I tried to report it to his parents, but got no response, Dumbledore of course knows, but has made no efforts to find him.

"Precisely why the old man might be involved," Voldemort mused, "We might have to change our plans, depending on what they have imparted to him."

"Crabbe, Goyle, the time to call in the Giants and Trolls is now, We meet in one week at the grounds of Hogwarts to feast on the blood of Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore” Voldemort declared.

"Bella, you know your task, finish it before the week is out, I want that power!" He exclaimed as she nodded and left.

Everyone else you know your roles, go bid our allies to come, we fight until all the tainted blood is washed out of Hogwarts, then we take the rest of the wizarding world, then the muggle's world." Voldemort was so sure of himself.

Order Headquarters

“Are you sure, Severus?" Albus asked quietly.

"Yes, the Malfoy's leaving sped up the time table," Snape said, "I believe you were the target of the plan he had for Draco."

Albus smiled, "I am sure we would have worked things out to our benefit, whatever the plan was. Have you heard from them?"

"They are all safe," Snape replied, thought unsure what to tell Albus of the exchange with Harry, he didn't know, but had a feeling that things would reveal themselves in time without his help, he also didn't know if he could speak of it, every time he thought about talking about it to someone else, his throat would close and he would choke on his own words.

Dumbledore nodded, and continued to direct Order members to gather their own allies to the school. He also started working with Severus and McGonagall on the details for the students and their safe relocation.

"Harry must be moved to safety," Minerva cautioned.

"Harry will know what to choose, Minerva, this may be part of a destiny we can't control," Albus said solemnly. Several members grumbled and looked away, not wanting to contradict Dumbledore.

Severus stood with the rest as they took their leave. Albus looked at him with a twinkle in those eyes, "Stay for a moment Severus, Please" and he nodded his assent.

After the rest filed out, Severus looked back at the man who trusted him when no others had. Albus merely smiled, "Take care of our boys, something is going on with them, and I don't want to see it destroyed or either one of them destroyed because of it. I know you have noticed something, as have I, if they are to find happiness when this is all over, they must be kept safe, but allowed to work together if needed. Though with Draco's protection, I am not sure how that will work."

Severus blinked as the feeling of his tongue being loosened closed over him, "Something extraordinary happened, and I know that whatever it is, no evil is in either of them. I am not sure what powers I have will keep them from whatever is occurring now." Albus smiled, "falling in love is not that extraordinary Severus, it happens every day."

"This is stronger, more, and hard to explain. Harry saved Draco from a stupid mistake on my part with more power than I have seen from you or the Dark Lord combined.” Severus quaked at the recollection, “though I don't think you will be able to talk on this to those who don't know as my tongue was just loosened for you and not the rest of the order." Albus seemed to ponder that.

"Do you think they are the re-birth of the Sál af ást?" Albus asked gently.

"It is possible, thought I am not sure, I have done little reading on the matter to be sure, There seems to be a communication of a kind between the two of them, and a power that changed Harry completely the other day. His eyes, Albus, they were light itself, and the castle bent to his will, as did I. He is responsible for Draco's current safety measures, not I." Severus said, as a load fell off his shoulders at the mere conversation.

"Ahh, then by all means, assist where needed, and let them sort it out. You might want to send some astral projection books Harry's way by means of Hermione of course, this will definitely be beneficial", Albus informed.

Severus nodded and turned to go.

"Hope has smiled on us Severus, that is a great gift." Albus stated, then turned on the spot and apparate away.

Severus sighed, if only hope would smile on him, he could live without the weight of the world on his shoulders. Then he too turned and apparated back to his home, to floo back to the school.
