Disclaimer: I’m not making any money off of this. I don’t own Harry Potter. Wish I did. Then we’d see a little more HPSS action. Oh yeah...
Note: This is an AU fic. And I don’t care what happened in HBP. I started writing it before, and even though a lot happened in that book this fic isn’t changing. You no like it? Don’t read. Also, this is a yaoi fic which means it has guy on guy action. You no like? You no read! It’s really that simple. It’s also a vampire fic because I have this obsession with vampires. Again, you no like? You no read it! Anything else? It’s a big AU. There’s no way (even if for some reason Harry and Sev did get together in the real books) that they would be vampires and that they’d act the way they do here. Sorry for killing their characters but I have warned you... -dpa06-
Classes drug by. If ever Severus had a reason to want to leave class, this was it: he had his childe back. They weren’t even granted their third hour off like normal because there was a student who needed to make up a missed assignment. And there was no way Severus was letting Harry out of his sight so the young man was forced to stay in the potions classroom until after dinner since both their presences were ‘requested’ by the headmaster. Severus sat at the far end of the table, Harry sitting on the side opposite the headmaster. Severus talked to no one, as was the norm, and tried to keep Harry quiet as well but Harry was polite and cheerful, answering questions until Severus would glare at him.
After an appropriate amount of time had passed, Severus grasped Harry’s elbow and pulled him from the table. He refused to let go all the way down to the dungeons. Once into their rooms, he shut and warded the door. He turned to face his livid childe.
“Tell me what’s going on!” Harry yelled, arms crossed and foot tapping. “Voldemort’s dead? You’re being an arse to Dumbledore? You storm into class and won’t let go of my hand? What in the bloody hell is going on?”
“Sit down. I’ll start at the beginning,” Sev sighed. “But first, I need to feed. And I have no blood supply at this moment in time, so I’ll need you to help me out here Harry.” He sat down and pulled Harry onto his lap where they began a slow, loving kiss that each put all their emotions into. Sev moved from Harry’s lips to his jaw to his neck where he suckled momentarily to bring the blood closer to the surface. Feeding off one’s childe wasn’t a common practice because it was mostly the sire’s blood running through the veins anyways. Any sire that fed off his/her childe only did it when absolutely necessary, like if they were in vital danger.
The piercing saw Harry arching his back slightly and pressing his groin into his sire’s. He quickly started moving to increase the pressure there and was elated when he felt Sev’s hand on his crotch to help relieve the pressure building up. A deep drink and Harry lost it. He came as he arched and Severus quickly tapered the feeding and closed the gashes on his childe’s neck. He gave Harry a few moments to calm down once more before beginning the tale he was going to have to tell.
“I went to a meeting. Voldemort had found out that I was a vampire and Crucio’d me. However, it wasn’t until after nearly twenty minutes of this that he learned I was a spy. He held the curse for so long my Occlumency shields faltered and he could read my thoughts. He kept me much like he did you before I turned you, except that my vampiric nature allowed me to heal faster. It took over a month to make it back to the castle; another week to completely heal.
“That’s when my irritation with Dumbledore began. He knew you were alive, so he didn’t worry about you in any way. I took it upon myself to look for you. All the rest of summer, and then the nights and weekends during the school year. Toward the middle of September, my blood supply began to run low. I didn’t care anymore. Early December I began to starve myself. It’s not as hard for an older vampire as it was for you. But my grief was too much. Shortly before Christmas I went to Felicia and Natalya. They were happy to help. I never knew you were there, or I would have come to you earlier.”
“Yes, I know,” Harry interrupted. “But how did Voldemort die?”
“It was nothing big. He went to visit the Malfoys, or rather Draco Malfoy and his family. Did you know he married the young Miss Weasley? They had a son and she’s pregnant again. Thankfully, he has Draco’s hair. Anyways, Draco refused the Dark Mark and went into hiding without the Fidelius Charm. Idiot. So Voldemort went to spend Christmas Dinner with them, scare them into joining him I guess. Long story short: he choked on a turkey bone and died,” Sev said.
Harry blinked once. Then again. And then he started laughing. He laughed so hard he fell off of Sev’s lap where he’d been since Sev began his story. Still laughing, he wiped his eyes of tears that were falling down his face from the intensity of the information he’d been given. Several minutes went by where the younger of the pair continued laughing. Severus didn’t find it that amusing, however. He arched an eyebrow and stretched a bit to get comfortable in the chair he was sitting in.
“Yes, yes. It was very funny,” he said sarcastically. “I do believe young Armand was scared to death that his ‘scary story man’ had come to life.” This seemed to calm Harry down a little. “Yes, another stupid mistake by Draco. He’d tell scary bedtime stories to his son about Voldemort. So when he sat down next to the two year old, the boy just stared at him and then asked if he really did all the things his ‘daddy’ had said he did.”
“And Voldemort didn’t hex them all right then?”
“Seems he thought the kid was... cute, and decided to prolong Draco’s torture by carving the turkey. Well, he’s truely gone this time. Look, no mark.” He lifted his left sleeve to show perfect skin. There wasn’t a mark in sight. “It only leaves when the one with the mark has truly rejected His ways or when they were forced to take the Mark and are now renouncing that path. Both, in my case. Anyways, so now that you know everything that has happened-”
“No I don’t! Not by far!” Harry cried, looking up at his lover from his spot on the floor. He moved to his knees, placing his hands on his sire’s knees. “What happened? How are Ron and Hermione? Are they okay? Last I heard Hermione was expecting. Why are you so mad at Dumbledore? He told you I was alive. I would have thought you’d of been happy to at least know that much. How are the other teachers? Who was my replacement? Was it that new witch at the table? And where would we go if we did leave because of Dumbledore? How-?”
“One question at a time, Love,” Severus said, gripping Harry’s wrist gently and bringing him to his feet as he rose out of his chair. “First question: your friends,” he started, walking toward the bedroom. “The next generation of Weasleys has begun. Twin boys: Marcus and...” He trailed off for a moment, not really wanting to say it. But Harry’s insistent pleading finally made him give up the information. “Marcus and Harry, they named their sons Marcus and Harry. They’re fine and came home from the hospital about a three months ago. Great kids...” he muttered sarcastically. “Their uncles have been watching them. I am not teaching another pair of Weasleys.”
“Ah, come on Sev. It can’t be that bad.”
A glare shut him up. “Second question was about Dumbledore. Yes, I was ecstatic to know you were alive since my vampiric senses weren’t connecting to you. However, he just seemed to blow you off every time I brought you up, no matter how often I tried to tell him that you were in need of me. And I was never given leave of my classes to search for you. He. Didn’t. Care. And so now I don’t. I will continue to teach under the pretense that I am a teacher now. Not a spy, not his Potions Master. I am free to do whatever I like because Voldemort is dead and that was all he was holding over my head to keep me here.
“Minerva, Filius, Sybil, Rolanda, all the others. They’re all fine. Poppy as well. They’re all fine,” Severus said on a sigh. “As for where we’d go... Anywhere, Harry, anywhere you wanted to go. Although I am loathe to the idea, my ancestral home would be a short-term option. The Snapes are an old bloodline and therefore financially stable. Money isn’t a problem for us, and it never will be.”
“Well, it’s not like I’m poor,” Harry said. “My parents left me plenty of money as well. And I’ve used very little since I don’t really know what to do with it. I was raised poor and now I continue to live... not lavishly.”
“Your massive vocabulary astounds me,” Severus commented dryly. “It wouldn’t matter where we went as long as it was away from here. America, or stayed in Europe. We could live in Antarctica for all I care, as long as you’re with me, we’ll be fine.”
“Wait! You said your blood supply was running low in September, and it’s way past that now! You went to Natalya and Felicia for blood in...” He paused to think for a moment. “December, for Christmas. What will you do now? Will you continue to go to them?”
“Of course not!” Severus said, shocked that Harry would even consider that an option. “I’ll order more from my supplier and feast off of you until then,” he explained with a predatory gleam in his eye. “Now, Mr. Potter, I do believe that it is time for you to show me what you have learned while away.”
Harry was confused. Learned? What did I learn? I didn’t- All thoughts were cut off as Sev attacked Harry’s lips with the force of a starving man on a steak. Harry didn’t even noticed they’d moved until the kiss was broken and he was plopped down on the bed with Severus following quickly after. “I don’t understand,” Harry whispered as his lover began to undress him, kissing every inch of skin that was revealed. He lay back on the pillows, not caring as long as the sweet torture didn’t stop.
“What did... Felicia and... Natalya... teach you while... you saw them?” Severus asked between kisses.
“But that’s different. I don’t know how to top, even if I have before.”
“It’s not too dissimilar from being with a woman, Harry. Just make sure you use enough oil. And always go for that one spot. You know, this one.” A suddenly slick finger was inserted into the... Jean-less?! When were my pants removed?!... young man’s arse and stretched as far as it could to hit said sweet spot. Harry was mewling like a newborn kitten under the older’s experienced touch. “No no, Harry.” The finger was removed quickly. “We’re reversing roles tonight so I can see how well you do under different tutelage. Not that it will ever happen again mind you.”
Somehow Harry managed to understand and comprehend what was being said to him. And somehow he managed to do just as he was asked. That night, it wasn’t Harry who was trying to break the silencing charms they had placed on the rooms.
Harry awoke the next morning to an empty room. First, he panicked, thinking it was all a dream and that he was alone and Sev really was dead. Then he noticed he wasn’t in his flat, but Sev’s bed. Their bed. He looked around and, seeing no sign of anything out of the ordinary, he donned a robe and walked into the living room. There sat a single blood red rose in a clear vase with a note.
Harry,
I am sorry I did not wake you this morning. After this past year... I thought you would like your rest. It’s a Friday so I am teaching bumbling fools once more. Please come and find me if you need anything, or when lunch comes around in the Great Hall. Whichever happens first. I love you with all my heart my childe.
~ Severus ~
Harry smiled at the gesture. Had anyone told him five years ago that he would be a vampire that was romantically involved with his old potions professor who was also a vampire, he would have killed them after he got off the floor from laughing so hard. He looked at the clock on the wall. He had never really paid any attention to it before. It had three hands on it: Severus, Albus, and Lucius. That surprised Harry to no end. Why was Malfoy on the clock? he wondered to himself. As he looked at where the hands pointed, he saw that Severus’ hand was on Classroom. Albus was in his office, and Lucius was... Dead? I didn’t even know you could put that on one of these clocks, Harry thought. I wonder what he’s going to do with Albus’ and Lucius’ names now. He probably had Malfoy’s on there so he’d know when the Death Eater was going to be trouble. He read a few other positions the hands could possibly be at: Sleeping, Great Hall, “Working”, Hogsmeade, Spying, and Snooping. It was nothing like the Weasleys’ clock, that was for sure.
Just before he turned away, he noticed that Dumbledore’s hand started to move toward Great Hall and glanced down at his own, regular, digital watch. “Lunch time. Sounds good to me. Now I can see how everyone’s doing for myself.” Harry quickly got dressed and headed to lunch with his lover, friends, and the students. Not long after he arrived, the teachers started coming in. Students poured in before Filius Flitwick had time to get through the teacher’s side door. Severus promptly added a seat for Harry on the side that wasn’t next to Dumbledore and began piling his plate with food.
“Eat,” he commanded, and then did the same for himself. A few teachers looked rather amazed at the display. “What do you want Sybil?”
“N-nothing,” she stuttered, realizing she’d just been caught staring. “I was just... When... You and Harry, Severus?”
“Yes, me and Sev,” Harry answered around bites of food.
“For how long?” Rolanda Hooch asked. Everyone was watching the two men with exception to Dumbledore and Pomfrey.
“Two years?” Harry asked Severus, looking at him. “Just about two years I believe.” He began to shovel food into his mouth once more. Severus watched his childe’s atrocious manners and simply coughed into his fist softly.
“Really? I never would have guessed!” Filius squeaked. “After that stunt and the way you two act around each other...”
“A show, I assure you,” Severus drawled. “Wouldn’t have done to have Voldemort know I was involved with the ‘Boy-Who-Lived’, now would it? I’d have been killed immediately, and he would have known how to do it since he knew about my condition.” A few shudders ran through some shoulders at the Dark Lord’s name, but no one said anything about it.
“Harry? You’re a vampire?” Sybil asked, unable to hold back her questions. “I mean, I Saw that you had changed, but I never would have guessed that Severus would have changed you into one of his kind.”
“Save it Sybil,” Poppy huffed from a bit farther down the table. She already knew all of this. “You ‘Saw’ nothing.”
“So, you’re bonded then?” Minerva asked.
Harry dropped his fork on his plate, causing a loud clatter. Severus went rigid in his seat.
“I’ll take that as a no then,” she continued softly, quickly going back to her own meal in hopes no one would see the blush that stained her face. The rest of the faculty stared in silence for a moment before going back to their meals... in complete silence. Eventually, conversation started up lightly between a few here and there. Severus and Harry stayed silent, eating in contemplation. When they were finished, they stood up simultaneously and left with Harry following Sev out. There was no communication between the lovers until they were safe behind their warded door in their chambers.
“What’s on your mind Harry?” Sev asked as he dropped into a comfy chair.
Slowly, Harry walked to him and slid onto his lap. After taking a moment to curl up so his head lay over Sev’s dead heart, he took another moment to collect his thoughts. “First, what’s with your clock? It’s nothing like the Weasleys’.”
“That’s because I’m nothing like the Weasleys, Love,” Sev answered slowly. At least he’s starting with something easy. “The ‘Dumbledore Hand’ was to know what the old coot was doing. The ‘Lucius Hand’ was to make sure nothing would happen that I couldn’t take care of. Didn’t always work though. And of course there’s my hand. That should be obvious.”
“Okay. I had pretty much guessed that,” Harry said. “Why would everyone be so surprised about us? Were we really that good at keeping up the charade that we hated each other? We always ate together, were seen together plenty of times, and Minerva, Poppy, and Dumbledore knew.”
“Yes, but no one questions me about my private life so I guess they took my word for it that we weren’t anything more than two men working in the same institute.”
“I can see that. I guess.” He went silent, slowly tensing as he tried to form the words for his next question. “Why did they want to know if we were bonded, Sev?”
“We’ve been together for two years, according to our word. Why not?”
“Well, it hasn’t been two years yet. And it was actually two years ago that I was turned. Our beginning was kind of... forced. Not that it is now, by any means,” he rushed to assure his sire. He received a quick squeeze of his lover’s arms as an answer of comfort. “It took us a few months to get around to not being nervous around each other in any way. And then it was still strained because we didn’t know if the other loved us or not. At least now we know, right?”
“I love you, Harry. You know that.”
“I do. And I love you too. I’m just saying that it hasn’t really been two years. Besides, it’s not like everyone who’s in a relationship has to be bonded. Right?” Here, Harry pulled away from Severus and looked into his face.
“That’s right, they don’t have to be. Tell me the truth Harry. What’s on your mind?”
“Well...” Harry bothered his lower lip for a second before whispering, “why aren’t we?”
Severus knew the question was coming, but it didn’t make it any easier. “Firstly, like you said, our relationship was strained for a while. Secondly, that bastard was still alive and a bonding was unthinkable. Third, I wasn’t sure if we were ready for that just yet. And fourth, I haven’t had the time to ask quite frankly. Voldemort was killed while you were gone, and I just got you back yesterday. I’m not even sure if vampires can bond now that I think of it. The fact that you’re ‘The-Boy-Who-Lived’ and it has been noted that I was a spy for Light might just come in handy here.”
“You know I don’t like using my status to get things, Sev,” Harry practically growled.
“Yes, I know. But if it makes things easier...”
Harry laid his head back on his sire’s chest and relaxed. They sat there until dinner since Sev didn’t have anymore classes that day. Dinner was served in their chambers before the pair headed to their bedroom for gentle lovemaking that each needed so desperately: just to know the other was there and that they were loved.
A/N: So, what do you all think? Kinda sappy, but how did you like how I killed off Voldemort? Just remember to breathe, yeah? REVIEWS!!!!!
It won't show them! Everytime I try and get them to show up, it stops with maria joao. So I want everyone to know I've read your reviews and love them all and thank you to everyone. And nercomi for correcting me. Severus means 'stern' in Latin, not 'grumpy' as my friend had told me. Sorry for the bad information.
I'm so happy I have loyal reviewers. I love people who read, but I love you more if you review. Even if it's to correct me, like nercomi. I don't mind that, as long as it's legit. I mean, flames will be used to add to my steadily gorwing love of fire. Hence the name darkpyroangel06. Yeppers, I'm a pyro. I love fire. Anyways, that's all until next week folks! See you then, same smutty website, same smutty story. -dpa06-
