Chapter Twelve
It wasn’t until some trial and error, not to mention some much needed assistance from Professor Flitwick, were they able to do away with the Trojan tracking spell. Severus rushed her off to what he was now seeing as the safety of the Prince estate the very moment they were cleared to do so.
Being as late as it was, Hermione was hoping that they would be left in peace.
“Where the bloody hell have you been?!” Lucius exclaimed, stepping out of the study that was off of the entrance way.
Sighing heavily, Hermione knew that the peaceful rest she had been so looking forward to doing wasn’t to be. She went over to Lucius, taking his arm and began walking him over to the study.
“Come along, Lord Malfoy,” she told him. “We’ll all have a drink while one of the house elves goes to fetch Draco. He has to be here for this meeting.”
“He does?” Lucius whispered. “Why?”
“Because it involves him as well,” she said casually. “If it wasn’t important, I wouldn’t have mentioned it.”
“How important?”
“Important enough to be scared if we don’t find him soon,” she told him. “Please tell me he’s here.”
“Yes,” he replied sounding shaken by what she had stated. “Mimsy!” A little elf popped into the room. “Fetch Draco to me immediately.”
“Right away, my lord!”
The little elf popped out of the room and was back shortly with the scion of the Malfoy family. More was the pity that the elf didn’t give Draco the opportunity to get dressed first before bringing him to his father. Hermione not only shut her eyes, but turned away from him.
“Now please if you could fetch him some clothes, Mimsy?” Severus ordered the elf, as he went over to Hermione and allowed her to press her face into his chest.
“I didn’t need to see that,” she muttered. “That saying that the clothes make the man is so correct.”
“Very funny, Granger,” Draco hissed. “I’ll have you know I’m in shape and can…”
“That’s not what she was referring to,” Severus told him.
“You have a tattoo of what looks like a neon sign pointing out your manhood as if it were a carnival ride that says, ‘This way to fun town!’” But then under her breath whispered, “And it has a very small population.”
Severus was barely able to hold back a derisive laugh at her comment, but it was heard nonetheless gaining a glare from Draco and a snarl from his father.
Lucius muttered, “It will be removed.”
“Father!” Draco exclaimed. “I’m a grown wizard!”
“Grown wizards don’t have tattoos of that sort,” Lucius snapped back, managing to make his son blush all the more. “What were you thinking to get that when you are about to be wed?”
“I told you that I’m not going to marry Pansy…”
“Okay! Stop it the two of you!” Hermione snapped, turning to face them with her hands covering her eyes. “You!” She pointed in what she hoped was Draco’s direction. “Stop arguing and get dressed! And you, Lord Malfoy!” She looked at Lucius, who was standing stonily in the middle of the room. “Do something useful and get me a fire whiskey before I hex someone!”
“Miss Granger…” Lucius started only to have Hermione interrupt him.
“One,” she growled under her breath.
Severus snapped to attention at that word, looking over to Lucius who was already starting up again. “Who are you to order me about like a-a servant?”
Looking over to Hermione, Severus saw her lips go tight as she muttered, “Five.”
“Five?!” the potions master exclaimed.
“I’ve been having a very bad day. He isn’t helping matters any.” Sitting down hard, she added, “I might be more lenient if I had my damn fire…” A glass with three fingers of the fury libation popped onto the table next to her. “I should say seven, but I’m too grateful for the drink.” She downed it quickly and looked over to the two wizards. “What? I hate to sound redundant, but honestly today has been awful.”
“Has it been enough of a bad day to beat your paramour, Miss Granger?” Lucius asked scathingly.
A bubbling, joy filled laughter filled the room. “Beat him! As if I would lay a finger on anyone, other than your son way back in our school years, in a harmful fashion.”
“Draco?” Severus inquired.
“Third year I punched him,” she answered. “He was being quite the unbearable prat.”
Lucius frowned. “Then why the number counting?”
“It depends on my whim,” she said. “It could and can be anything from the amount of time he isn’t allowed to climax to other little tortures.” She smiled dreamily. “One time I had him…”
“Must you tell them these things?” Severus demanded, flushing with embarrassment.
“No, we don’t have to,” she said as she stood up and walked slowly over to the dark man.
Severus swallowed thickly at seeing the seductive and very determined look in her eyes. She went over to him, sitting him down into the closest chair. Leaning in, she breathed, “I know exactly what I’m going to do to you.” He shivered at her words, his body quickening. “I’m going to magically rip the very clothing from your body. I’m too impatient to deal with all those fucking buttons, Severus.” Her hands scratched him across his chest, but ended up resting her forehead against his head. “And then I’m going to hand you the reins.” Sniffling she whispered, “I’ve been having a very horrid day.”
Getting to his feet, he picked Hermione up honeymoon style and carried her out of the room. The two Malfoys were silent for a time before Lucius said, “Those two are quite odd.”
“Definitely,” Draco agreed, but added, “But it doesn’t make him any less lucky to have her.”

It wasn’t until two hours later that the two made themselves known at suppertime. Hermione was more herself, having been made to relax the majority of the time the two had been alone. Severus had come out five minutes earlier, warning the two that if they started something with her that it would be he that would be ending it that day.
Nothing was said by anyone for most of the time dinner was taking place. It wasn’t until Hermione was getting ready to leave that anyone spoke at all.
“So what had you sending my father into a panic and having me fetched naked over to that meeting that never took place?” Draco asked.
She stopped, thinking it over for a moment before she turned to him and said, “I was given the Honeymooner’s Death today. You wouldn’t by any chance recall whom you bragged to that I was going to be taking a ride in the miniature world of ‘Fun Town’ with, do you?”
The conflicted look on the younger Malfoy’s face said it all. Should he argue about his manhood or totally panic over the newly discovered threat to his person?
“You do realize that if that sign wasn’t there, Draco, the main attraction, as it were, might not look as small,” Hermione pointed out to him.
This seemed to settle things for the younger wizard. “Someone was trying to kill me?” he exclaimed.
“I was going to die too,” she said to him dryly. “Now which one of your Unspeakable friends did you brag about this supposed conquest to, you obsequious peacock?”
