cullengal101: Thanks! Glad you like it so far. Here’s my newest update.
starr: We’ll see just how much crap Ginny does and doesn’t get away with. You want cuteness? Keep reading.CDGaymer: Ginny will be getting up to a few things. And she didn’t “forget” about killing Harry’s snake. You’ll read about that later.djaddict: I figured you meant Ginny and not me. Usually if I leave a cliffhanger, I get some mild reactions like that.BAFan: (Chp 3) Wow. How’d I miss that one? (Chp 10) It is true the Canon world targets her a lot. Her, Ron and Hermione, Dumbledore, etc. I guess we like to target those people because it’s easy to manipulate the idea that they were manipulators or tricksters. I have nothing against Ginny personally. Some of the stories paint her as real nasty during the school years.Morgane: Thanks, I’m glad you like. I’d be happy to email you when I have an update.karendice: After you said that comment about nothing awkward happening with Harry sleeping on Snape…I really thought about painting the picture that way. But decided not to. Hope you like the update.AUTHOR’S NOTE: Hello, my lovely readers and reviewers!! I apologize that I haven’t updated in a while. The search for a house has not been easy and it is NOT getting any easier. Thankfully, I am taking a day off from it tomorrow. It is my hope that I didn’t rush too badly through this chapter. Appreciate any and all feedback! JChapter 12
Bring It On
“Do I have to be there?”
Lucius looked up from straightening his papers. He had to leave for the Ministry soon for the first day in court. Harry was sitting over in an armchair, wringing his hands together. Harry had been sent through the floo by Severus a couple of hours ago. His robe was sitting over the back of the chair he was sitting in. Lucius recalled his old friend mentioning that the wringing of his hands meant Harry’s nerves were shot all to Hell.“To answer your question, no. It’s only open arguments today. It’s rare in wizarding courts that either client appears during that time. You will come the next time when the case really gets under way,” Lucius told him.Harry sagged in relief in the armchair. He ran his hand down his arm and his nice, court appropriate clothes changed into a simple shirt and pair of jeans. Lucius silently shook his head as he stood. He still had a hard time picturing the boy in the same league as his son as a young man.“Why did you decide to charge Ginny with First-Degree Arson?” Harry asked.Lucius grabbed up his portfolio of papers and his cane. He walked around the side of his desk. He walked steadily over to Harry, stopping when he stood a few feet in front of him.“I believe you were right, Potter. About Weasley casting the Fiendfyre. You know what the spell was like, since you saved my son from it.”A bright pink dusted across Harry’s cheeks. He had nearly forgotten about that, but it seemed Lucius had not. There were so many different things that happened in the war. Lucius watched Harry’s eyes glaze over as he lost himself in his memories.Hermione and Ron. Leaving them behind when he left the battlefield for him and Voldemort to have their last standoff. Not knowing if he would live to see his best friends again.Dumbledore. Seeing him protect a younger student who had snuck out onto the battlefield. He hoped he wouldn’t be disappointed if Harry lost.Professor Snape. The spy who cast out the Death Eaters from Hogwarts, preventing Draco from having to take out Dumbledore. The spy who couldn’t be a spy after that.Fred and George. Paving the way for him through the Death Eaters, allowing for him to go on to find the Dark Lord. Did George blame him for his twin being dead?“Harry.”Harry’s eyes slammed open. He hadn’t even realized he had closed them. He stared up at the older wizard without realizing that there were tears streaming down his face. Lucius reached into his pocket to pull out a handkerchief which he offered to him. Harry took it wordlessly and leaned back in his chair as he wiped at his face.“Surviving is the only glory in war. Close your eyes, clear you heart…and let it go,” Lucius told him.Harry closed his eyes, drew in a large breath and let it out. He finished wiping his cheeks before offering the handkerchief back to the older wizard. He tucked it away in his pocket to clean later. Harry was smiling when he opened his eyes again.“Bet you quoted that from a muggle,” Harry grinned.Lucius smirked at him. “Prove it, Potter.”Harry chuckled. He felt like he and Lucius got along in a weird, sort of way. He hadn’t yet really gotten to know the older wizard so it was complicated to describe. Knowing that Severus would be in Diagon Alley for at least an hour, Lucius told Harry he was welcome to stay at the Manor in the meantime.“I’m sure the house elves would be willing to help you put together another beautiful bouquet to go at Narcissa’s tree,” Lucius told him.Harry smiled as he stood up.“Did she…Were there any flowers that were her favorite?” Harry asked.“Tiger lilies were her absolute favorite. You are welcome to stay until I return. I shouldn’t be gone more than a couple of hours,” Lucius answered.Even though he knew the man didn’t need it, Harry wished him luck. Lucius waited until Harry left in search of the house elves to floo out to the Ministry. He came smoothly out of a fireplace and into the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic. He brushed invisible soot from his cloak before making his way down the hall.Witches and wizards were coming and going, some rushing by in a hurry to reach their destination. Lucius took his time as he made his way to a side, hidden hallway. It contained lifts that were accessible only by Aurors and legal staff. Kingsley was already there waiting to escort him and the defense attorney to the courts.“I take it Miss Weasley’s counsel hasn’t made an appearance yet,” Lucius said smoothly.Kingsley shook his head.“No. Last I heard she didn’t have representation,” Kingsley slipped to him.A shiver ran up Kingsley’s spine at the shark-like grin that appeared on Malfoy’s face. He suddenly remembered what Lucius had said to him before he had left to serve the warrant to Ginny.“By the way, Lucius, you owe me three Galleons,” Kingsley said.Lucius raised an eyebrow. He reached into his pocket to pull out the aforementioned coins.“That bad, hmm?” Lucius asked.Kingsley shuddered as he accepted the coins.“If Molly and Arthur hadn’t been in the room, I think I would have been arresting her for assault on an Auror,” Kingsley hinted.Lucius made an hmm noise in the back of his throat. If Weasley was that violent at the Head Auror, then he could use that nasty temper to his advantage.“Will Harry be joining you today?” Kingsley asked.Typically, in high profile cases like this, Aurors staked themselves inside or outside the court room. For the safety of everyone involved, of course.“No. You and Moody are not needed today. Who do you have investigating the arson at Number 12?” Lucius asked.“The twins. Michael Christof and Elysia Christof-Morgan,” Kingsley answered.Lucius was impressed. The twins were very skilled Aurors, specializing in cases of arson and child abuse. He would be interested in hearing what they had to report. He was already thinking of his next question when a voice spoke from behind.“Good morning, Lucius,” chimed a feminine voice.Kingsley watched the blonde’s eyes roll upward in a “Why me?” fashion before he pasted a fake grin on and turned around. The witch that was walking up to them wore regal wizarding robes in the color of a dark purple. She had long, dark red hair that was expertly braided and sitting on her shoulder. Her bright green eyes sparked at him as she approached them.“Drizel, what a pleasant surprise it is to see you,” Lucius greeted.Drizel let out a small, low chuckle-like giggle.“I highly doubt that, Lucius, but I will return the sentiments.”She stopped in front of them. She clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth in a disapproving manner.“It’s such a shame just how far our Savior has fallen. Attacking the only family he has ever known. Perhaps not all is right with your young client,” Drizel smiled.Already, Lucius could tell what Drizel’s plan of attack was going to be. She would argue that Potter was not mentally stable to be accusing someone of such behavior.“I assure you that Mr. Potter will attend court with his faculties fully intact,” Lucius hinted back at her.“Then where is he?”Lucius almost cringed at the sickly sweet voice of Ginny Weasley. The young witch walked up to the group with her head held high and her robes made of some of the finest material. She tried to pull off an innocent smile, but it came out more like the grin of a piranha that had spotted its meal being lowered to the water..“As I’m sure your lawyer explained to you, Miss Weasley, the clients do not typically appear on the first day. Mr. Potter has opted to remain at home today,” Lucius told her.Her fake grin fell for a second into a scowl before she lifted it back up. With nothing more to say to either witch, Lucius turned back to Kingsley who opened the lift. The quartet stepped in and the lift was off. It jerked up several floors before jerking to the left then the right. Finally it came to a swift yet smooth halt. When the lift opened, the women stepped out first with the men right behind them. The halls of the court were silent and nearly empty. Ginny thought she saw Percy down one of the halls but the figure was gone as quick as she had spotted them. Moving ahead, Kingsley led the group to a small courtroom with two tables with two chairs each, a few chairs for others, and the judge’s stand with a witness stand placed beside it.Drizel and Ginny branched off to the table on the left while Lucius went to the right table. Kingsley waited until the judge entered the room to depart from the courtroom. The judge was a tall woman with long, dark hair and pale skin. Her hazel-colored eyes were misty from a customary spell judges used to make themselves impartial.Lucius caught sight of a tiny smirk on Weasley’s face. He had to cover his mouth with a hand to keep from smiling. The witch had another thing coming if she thought having a female judge would give her an advantage. The three of them remained standing as the judge came to stand up behind her stand.“I am Judge Nicolette Pesi. This is Case Number 2597-36, Potter v. Weasley. Who stands present?” she asked.“Lucius Malfoy for the complainant, Your Honor,” Lucius answered smoothly.“Drizel McCullen for the defense, Your Honor,” Drizel added.Judge Pesi nodded before flicking her wand. A quill on the stand started writing, recording everything the judge and lawyers had said. The judge sat down as did Drizel and Ginny. Lucius remained standing as he was the first to deliver opening arguments. He put his papers aside before stepping out to speak directly to the judge.“Harry James Potter. The hero of the Wizarding World. A name well known by all, but a young man truly only known by a select few. All his life, Harry has asked for nothing, but a simple life. He completed the heavy, undesirable task before him…the Dark Lord is dead. Harry could finally live out his simple life in a quiet home with the love of his life.”“Ha!”Lucius smiled. He didn’t have to turn around to see the startled look on the other lawyer’s face. It was clear that Lucius was not yet done delivering his statement. Miss Weasley had just broken one of the most cardinal rules in Wizarding Court. He turned around finally and raised an eyebrow in question at the standing witch. Predictably, the little tart continued on.“Harry never had a quiet life and he didn’t need one, either. He had his friends…his own home…his wife… What more could he need?” Ginny asked, haughtily.Drizel managed to yank her client back down into her chair and hissed in her ear to be quiet. Lucius swiftly turned back around to see a mildly annoyed look pass over the judge’s face. He waited until she nodded her head to him before continuing.“Having never had a true family, Harry was pulled in by the sweet seduction of a woman who would later abuse her power. I will prove that Miss Weasley has indeed abused her power to tear our beloved Savior to pieces which led to Harry being abandoned by all those close to him. She will stand trial and she will be found guilty of all charges. Thank you.”As the wizard returned to his table, his thoughts drifted to his young client. One fact he neglected to tell Harry was that the judge had the right, during opening arguments, to dismiss or alter the changes. After the Defense Attorney spoke, the judge would usually ask to see the Prosecution a list of charges, evidence, and any witnesses listed. Smoothing down her robes as she stood, Drizel walked out to stand in the same open space Lucius had been in.“Once upon a time and happily ever after. A silly fairytale beginning and ending for muggles. In reality, a true beginning and ending for Mr. Potter and the former Mrs. Potter. We have much to thank Harry Potter for. We asked that he fight a monster more than twice his age. And he did. And won. But was it too much for him? Physically…emotionally…mentally?”Drizel went on to describe past injuries and incidents. She briefly described an unfit childhood home (emotionally); the bite from a basilisk and fighting in the Triwizard Tournament (physically); and losing the closest friends of his parents and casting an Unforgiveable at the age of 15 (mentally). As she spoke, Lucius made several notes and kept an eye on the judge. It was hard to tell what Judge Pesi was thinking. After that, Judge Pesi asked to see Lucius’ filed paperwork. He walked up to her personally to deliver the papers. It was a personal touch that impressed judges, as most lawyers would just levitate them over. The judge thumbed through the papers for a few minutes. Both lawyers kept their gaze on the judge while Ginny simply looked around the courtroom.“Prosecution Malfoy?” Judge Pesi finally said, breaking the silence.“Your Honor?” Lucius answered.Judge Pesi turned her gaze down to him with a neutral look in them.“I require a report by a medical Healer, documenting the current mental status of your client,” Judge Pesi said.Lucius smirked. “It’s on page 17, Your Honor.”The Judge flicked back through the papers and made an “hmm” sound when she found what she sought. Judge Pesi placed the papers down and tapped her wand against her desk.“Very well. Case Number 2597-36, Potter v. Weasley, will proceed. Prosecution Malfoy, your client will be granted a court favor for the violation of the Defense interrupting opening arguments.”Lucius did everything to keep from glancing over at the Defense table. He could practically hear the rage building in the little twit, but he knew Drizel was prepared this time. Now there was no outburst, which was a little disappointing.“You will consult with your client and he will give his answer at the next trial day in three days time,” Judge Pesi added.Lucius nodded. He had a few ideas of what Potter could ask for, but he would speak with him, not for him in this case.“Your Honor, I can tell you Mr. Potter wishes the case to remain private. Only those directly involved with the case may be present,” Lucius stated.Drizel immediately interjected, stating that the “wish” should count as the court favor. Lucius was already there with a rebuttal.“The press has no business being anywhere near Mr. Potter as he has them under the Mouth-Binding Laws. And he’s not going to release them from it anytime soon,” Lucius explained. He risked a look at his colleague that time. He was astonished by the small bit of shock he saw registering on her face. Obviously, Weasley hadn’t told her lawyer everything she should have. The judge nodded and made an official note that the court case would remain private.“We are adjourned for today.”The trio stood when the judge stood and left. Lucius slowly gathered his papers together. He heard Drizel and Weasley leave the courtroom. Outside, he could hear the press shouting questions to them. This meant he was prepared when they surrounded him after he stepped out.“Mr. Malfoy! Mr. Malfoy! What is the trial about?” a reporter asked.Lucius smirked.“Justice, my dear lady,” Lucius answered smoothly.“Mr. Malfoy, will Mr. Potter be lifting the Mouth-Binding Laws?”They all seemed to be holding their breath as they awaited his answer. He paused for effect before answering in the negative.“At this given time, Mr. Potter has no plans to lift the Mouth-Binding Laws. Thank you and good day.”/……/
After Draco’s father left, Harry sought out the house elves. They were more than happy to help him arrange a collection of flowers. He then walked them down to the Malfoy family graves. Bringing forth a controlled ball of magic, Harry cleaned up the entire site. He dissolved the weeds, swept aside fallen leaves, and cleaned the graves.
While working on the burial grounds, Harry was momentarily stopped by a house elf holding a letter addressed to him. He had sat down hard on the bench beside Narcissa’s tree when he had taken it. The letter was from George. It was an apology; a deep down, heartfelt apology. George wrote that when the trial was over, he would like to have Harry over for dinner at his flat. He understood that if Harry didn’t want to come. While sitting quietly on the bench, Harry came to a sound decision. He would write George, he would meet him after the trial and then he would decide whether or not their friendship could start anew. After sitting for a little longer and speaking softly to the deceased, Harry walked back up to the manor for lunch. He was sitting at the kitchen island when Lucius came in.Harry listened attentively as Lucius replayed to him what had happened in court. While they talked, the house elves made and delivered a plate of lunch to their Lord. Harry was confused about a few things.“I thought you said that clients didn’t have to attend for the first day. Why would Ginny be there?” Harry asked.Lucius finished chewing his bite before dabbing his mouth with a napkin and pushing his plate away.“It is a common scare tactic of Drizel’s. It’s meant to put you at unease. Do not worry, Potter. It turns out that Miss Weasley is turning her own defense against herself. She not only interrupted opening arguments and gained you a court favor, but she neglected to tell her counsel about the Mouth-Binding Laws,” Lucius explained.Harry scrunched up his face. “Why would the Laws be a big deal?”The older wizard explained that one of the other lawyer’s key elements was using the media to paint the public against whoever Lucius was defending.“And with the Laws in place, she can’t do that,” Harry said.Lucius nodded. “That is correct.”Harry’s next question had to do with the court favor.“What kind of favor can I ask for? What kind of favor do you think I should ask for?” Harry asked.“I can advise you on what I think you should do, but the decision is ultimately yours. I’ll provide you with a list of things you can ask for. I’d like you to talk them over with Severus. Ask for his opinion. He knows his way around a courtroom as well as I do,” Lucius advised.Harry nodded. He would like to do that very much. He valued the older wizard’s opinion.“Enough about court. We needn’t worry about it for a few days. What did you do in the time I was gone?” Lucius asked.Harry smiled as he told the older male about his visit down to the family burial site. Lucius watched as Harry became animated about his magic and preserving the beauty of the gravesite. The Malfoy Lord stood up and gestured for Harry to follow him.“Then perhaps I should see what work you’ve done today before you leave.”/……/
“I can do that.”
Severus chuckled.“I know that, Harry. But it is my turn to cook dinner,” Severus told him.Harry grumbled while he was stuck sitting at the island. Severus had cast a spell to glue Harry to his stool to keep him from getting up and helping. Severus had soothed his irritation with a slow, deep kiss. In fact, his body tingled just thinking about it. Of course, it didn’t help that the older wizard would bestow a kiss on him every time he passed by Harry to get to something.A kiss to the cheek made him smile while a kiss to the back of his neck caused shivers. If his former professor was this touch-feely, he wondered how badly his former rival would be. Especially after the passionate kiss he had received from the blonde.Speaking of the blonde, Harry turned his head when he heard the floo flare up and a foul string of curses. He looked back over at Severus who was chuckling again. Harry felt a tingle over the seat of his pants and found that he could move again.“Best go and see what our dragon is fouling the air about,” Severus hinted.Even though his back was to him, Harry still nodded at him before spinning around and shoving himself off the stool. He walked out of the kitchen and through the entrance hall to the living room. It turned out fouling the air was an accurate statement as Harry clapped a hand up to his nose at the smell. And Draco didn’t look much better. The still cursing blonde was soaked from head to toe in his robes. He was dripping on the carpet in front of the fireplace, spitting curses and wringing his robe sleeves out. Harry’s chuckling made his head snap up.“What are you laughing at?” Draco asked.Carefully, Harry stepped further into the room and around the couch. He still kept a fair distance from the other wizard. He skirted to the side when Draco’s ferret dropped to the ground from seemingly out of nowhere and dashed past him.“Draco, don’t take this the wrong way…but you stink,” Harry said.Draco scowled.“It’s not as if I want to look and smell like this. It’s that damn Higgins’ fault! Damn midget has a trigger wand and every time the mess ends up on me! This time, his spell sent me crashing into the damn bloody swamp!” Draco exclaimed. The sight, smell, and sounds drove him over the edge. Harry burst out laughing. Draco’s face fell down into a pout. He felt like he was being mocked by the brunette. Then a sudden idea came to him. While Harry turned away from him, Draco slowly crept up to behind the unaware brunette. Draco waited until he was almost right up behind him.“Ooh, little lion. You should know better.”That was the only warning Harry got before he was embraced tightly by the blonde. Harry thought he heard himself shout in protest, but he wasn’t sure what he said. He figured it must have been Severus’ name since the taller wizard appeared a moment later. He shot the other brunette a pleading look, but all he got in response was a small smirk. Harry playfully turned his head away when Draco placed a wet, messy kiss on his cheek.“Draco?”Draco turned his head to lay it on Harry’s shoulder while looking at Severus. He could tell by the playful smirk on his lover’s face that he was just as amused as Draco.“Yes, Severus?” Draco asked.Severus shook his head with the roll of his eyes. Harry had stopped struggling in Draco’s arms, but didn’t look too pleased about the smell. Draco just looked pleased as a kneazle to have the brunette wrapped in his arms.“You are ruining the carpet,” Severus said, point blank.Draco winked at him.“Suppose I should take care of that, then. Hold on, Harry.”Harry barely had time to utter a tiny sound before Draco apparated them upstairs to the bathroom. Harry whined at the back of his throat when Draco spun him around to kiss him. It was the sloppiest, most stinky, down-right-awful kiss he had ever had…and Harry found it was one of the best kisses he ever had. Because it was the kiss from a man who cared deeply enough for him to let him see him at his worst and share it with him.Harry figured he must be mental since he returned the embrace and kiss. This time, Draco kept it chaste and short. When he pulled back, Draco stepped back to unbutton his robes. Harry noticed that the blonde’s hands were too slippery to undo the buttons. With a sigh, Harry pushed himself off the wall and batted Draco’s hands away. Draco lowered his hands in favor of letting his younger lover unbutton his robes easily.“You’re going to have to shower, too. I doubt Severus would be pleased to have a smelly lion sitting at his dinner table,” Draco whispered to him.Even with his head bowed, Harry knew Draco could see the tiny blush that spread across his face. He finished with the buttons and pulled the robe away. He put it into the dirty laundry basket and turned back to help the blonde with his shirt.“I’ll just go shower in the other bathroom,” Harry mumbled.Draco chuckled before leaning his forehead against the top of Harry’s head. It felt different having the brunette undress him. It was mostly steady, but with nervous twitching of a person unused to undressing another.“Are you scared of showering with me, Potter?” Draco teased. His grin grew when he heard a familiar, “You wish.” Draco reached his hands up to untuck Harry’s shirt and snuck a quick kiss before lifting it. Harry brought his arms up, allowing Draco to pull his shirt off. Harry shivered when Draco leaned in to press a kiss over his heart. The two finished undressing down to their boxers. To ease the lion’s anxiety, the dragon kept them both in boxers before pulling him into the shower. Draco had no doubt that Severus knew what they were doing. He would be a little jealous from being left out, but he wouldn’t it against the younger wizards. They were trying their best to ease Harry into everything; it wouldn’t do to overwhelm the little lion.Harry shook as the warm water sprayed down across his back. Draco turned so the spray came down across his back, shielding the shorter male. Draco picked up a bar of soap which he heavily lathered onto his hands. Harry shivered at the first touch, but did nothing to discourage the blonde. He allowed the hands to travel over his body, washing away the grime and stink.Harry closed his eyes and took a deep breath while silently reminding himself to stay calm. Ginny and he had never been this intimate. It was a whole new experience for Harry. It made him nervous and excited at the same time, especially after Draco pulled him in close. He turned the brunette around and washed his hair gently for him. Harry bit back a moan at the feeling of hands running through his hair.“Does that feel good?” Draco whispered.Harry smiled. He could practically hear the blonde’s smirk.“It’s…nice,” Harry admitted.Draco was pleased Harry had answered him. He didn’t want to scare the brunette off, but his new lover was very precious to him. His body was small yet the perfect size in his arms; his smell was intoxicating and his touch soothing to sore muscles. Draco got a big surprise when Harry turned around and wanted to return the favor.Draco sat down on a small ledge in the corner of the bathroom to help with the height difference. Harry slipped his fingers through sinfully soft blonde hair, biting his lip when he heard a moan from the blonde wizard. He reached out and grabbed the shampoo bottle. He poured a small amount in his hands and rubbed his hands together before bringing them back up.Draco groaned. Harry’s touch was light and felt so good through his hair. He let out a small whine when Harry stepped away to let him wash it out. Draco stood up and washed away the shampoo under the spray of the shower. Harry tried to sneak out to let Draco finish his shower, but Draco caught him back up in his arms. They stood there in the shower, just barely catching some of the water raining down. The former Slytherin turned his head to kiss and lick at the side of his mouth. Harry was the one who finally turned his head fully to capture his lover’s mouth with his. Draco nipped at his bottom lip and lapped at it with his tongue. Harry opened his mouth, allowing the other wizard entrance. Their kiss lasted for a little long before Harry pulled back to yawn. Chuckling, Draco pressed a kiss to the top of his head and gently pushed him out.“Go dry off and get dressed, Harry.”Draco grabbed the soap and washed his body while Harry dried off. After the brunette left the bathroom in search of some clothes, Draco dropped his boxers and wrapped a hand around his cock. He had kept his lower body away from Harry, hoping not to spook him with his half-hard member. It only took a couple of strokes and the thought of Harry shivering in his arms to make him come undone.Draco split his bottom lip open biting down to suppress his groan. His body shook from the force of his coming. He milked his erection until there was nothing left to give. He finished washing his body before stepping out of the shower. When Draco left the bathroom in a towel wrapped around his waist, his gaze fell on the bed.Dressed only in pajama bottoms, Harry lay on top of the covers, curled up on his side with his back to Draco. Suppressing another chuckle, Draco sat down on the side of the bed and reached over to pat Harry on the back.“Did I wear you out that bad, little lion?” Draco teased.Harry rolled over and peeked his eyes open. It was a shock to see the normally white parts of his eyes a shade of light blue. It was a sign of a wizard using a lot of magic after having not used his magic in a long time. It was similar to coming down off a sugar high where your head is pounding and you want nothing more than to hide under the covers.Draco made an “Aww” sound and reached out to press a warm kiss to his forehead. He whispered for Harry to go back to sleep. The clearly exhausted brunette closed his eyes and breathed a great sigh of relief. He never felt the blonde lean down and kiss his forehead again before leaving. What felt like a short time later, Harry slowly woke up from his deep sleep. When he cracked his eyes open, his eyes were white again. It was dark outside and he wasn’t alone in bed. Draco was curled up to his back with his head buried between Harry’s shoulder blades and his arm wound around his middle. Predictably, Severus sat up in bed beside him reading whatever the Hell was in that book that kept him focused.Must be a potions book, Harry thought.“Awake, I see.”Harry’s gaze lifted to Severus who was staring back down at him. Severus brought a hand down to smooth down Harry’s cheek.“I’m sorry for missing dinner,” Harry apologized.Severus assured him it was okay. When Harry murmured he wasn’t sure why he had been so tired, Severus softly explained it to him. Harry winced.“Will it do that every time I use magic? I didn’t think I used that much,” Harry murmured.Severus closed his book and placed it down on the bedside table. He slid down so he could lean his forehead against Harry’s.“You needn’t be afraid of it. All you have to do is take breaks between casting your magic. You use more when it’s wandless and especially when it’s wordless. Your body just needs to adjust to you using magic again. We’ll keep an eye on it to help you. Perhaps get a pet that can alert you when you’re close to a break,” Severus suggested.“I’d like that. A pet, I mean,” Harry murmured. He closed his eyes as Severus’ hand cupped his cheek with his thumb running back and forth softly over his skin.“We’ll go tomorrow, then. You and I. It’ll give us some time to talk,” Severus told him.Harry blushed a bright red. “I’d like that, too.”He gasped when Severus dipped his head down to steal a kiss. He let out a small, unHarry-like giggle when the former Head of Slytherin peppered his face with kisses. He didn’t realize when a rain of kisses started going down his spine until he heard that familiar voice in his ear.“Don’t leave me out of the fun,” Draco drawled. When Severus laughed deeply, it echoed through Harry’s body. It caused more, deep down shivers within him. That laugh could melt stone.“You have work in the morning, Dragon.”Harry shook with laughter as Draco mumbled a few curse words. He heard Draco cast the tempus charm before slipping his wand back to wherever he had been hiding it. Draco grinned at his older lover while resting his head on Harry’s shoulder.“It’s still early, Sev. Besides, why should you get all the fun?” Draco said, turning his head to kiss Harry’s neck.Harry didn’t question why they liked having him in the middle. It was obvious when they both covered him with soft kisses. For some ungodly reason, they liked making him the center of attention. They stayed above his shoulder blades and chest. He swapped a few kisses with both wizards; struggling a little to the return Draco’s kisses over his shoulder. It made things a little easier when they rolled him over so he was facing Draco. Harry could honestly say it was one of his better evenings. He knew as he drifted off with his head on Draco’s chest and Severus’ strong arms holding him from behind. He knew that this felt right and could feel the big, broken pieces of his heart coming together.“Night, Dragon. Wolf,” he mumbled sleepily.Kisses to his forehead and back of his neck.“Good night, Harry.”“Good night, little lion.”End of Chapter 12Bring It On
