Saiyan Misfortune

“Go-ku! Har-ry! Go-ku! Har-ry!” the Gryffindors chanted as they picked up Harry in the Gryffindor's common room. They tried to pick up Goku too but he just waved them off with a laugh. When he had finished the task, Dumbledore kindly gave him a sleeved black cloak to wear till he put on a shirt.

The twins shouted as they picked up Harry “Yes! Harry! Goku! We knew you two wouldn’t die!” they grinned “Lose a leg! Or an arm! Pack it in altogether? NEVER!”

Goku chuckled then handed Harry his egg back, his own egg under his arm “Go ahead Harry!”

Seamus grinned “What’s the clue?”

Harry grinned excitedly and looked around “Who wants me to open it?” the students cheered “Do you want me to open it?” they all cheered louder. Harry put his hand on the latch on the top of the egg and twisted it. A horrific and loud screeching noise filled the room making everyone cover their ears and made the twins drop Harry. The noise was so intense for Goku’s heightened Saiyan hearing and because he was right in front of Harry, his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he just dropped to the ground in a dead faint. His own golden egg rolled away. Once Harry shut the egg, everyone rushed over to Goku who was unmoving on the floor.

Harry knelt down “Goku!” he shook his shoulder but Goku was still out cold.

Hermione rushed over and knelt down next to him “He’s out cold! Did anyone else react this way?” she looked around and everyone shook their heads. Hermione sighed then stood up “Someone help him get to his room for now, I’ll go get McGonagall.” While Ron and Harry talked things out, the twins, Seamus and Dean carefully picked up Goku… well… they tried too but ended up using magic to levitate him to the boys dorm.

When they put him in his bed, they all jumped at the loud banging noise on the window. They turned to the window and widened their eyes at a pissed looking Vegeta. Fred cautiously walked over and opened the window “Vegeta? What are-”

Vegeta flew forwards and pushed him aside “Out of my way!” he flew over to his mate and started to inspect him carefully. He turned to the four boys and narrowed his eyes “You have a minute to explain to explain why my mate is out cold you brats.” his tail lashed left to right.

George coughed nervously into his fist “We're not really sure. Harry opened his egg to see the clue and this high twitched screeching came from it! It was bloody awful.”

Fred nodded “Suddenly Goku went and fainted right after he heard it.”

Vegeta crossed his arms “High pitched screeching noise?” he glanced back at Goku then at the boys “Must have been more high pitched that you brats think. Our hearing is over ten times better than yours so he must have picked up something you didn't hear.” he cracked his neck then jaw “So, what did the inside of the egg look like?”

“It looks like some kind of crystal of some sort.” Seamus said.

Vegeta looked around “Where is his own egg?”

George blinked then snapped his fingers “Common room, he was holding it when he fell. Vegeta grunted then started towards the door. “Hey wait! You can go in there! You're not even supposed to be in here either!”

Vegeta growled “I will go where I please.”

Dean held up his hands and tried to separate them “Hold on, I'll just get it.” he went through the door then closed it behind him.

Vegeta huffed then went back over to Goku and sat down on the due of the bed. He softly stroked his hair and sighed “Nothing’s been going right for you as of late has it?” Goku groaned softly then nudged the palm of his hand as he slept. Vegeta chuckled, let out a small putt and let a small smile grace his lips at his mates cuteness. He frowned when he hear a voice whispering behind him:

“Wait, is Vegeta smiling?” Fred whispered to George.

“And I swear i heard him purr there for a second.” whispered Seamus.

Vegeta didn’t turn to them but he growled out “You brats better leave before my fist greets your faces in a second...” The boys jolted then grumbled as they left the boys dorm. Dean apparently got the memo since he dropped off the egg then left quickly. Vegeta turned back to Goku when he heard his groan a bit and shuffle. “Kakarrot,”

Goku’s eyes fluttered open and he groaned and rubbed his temple “My ears are ringing…” he blinked at Vegeta then sat up some “Geta? What’re you doing here?” his voice was a bit louder than usual but Vegeta shrugged it off; the oaf was always loud.

Vegeta scowled “Obviously here to make sure you’re not hurting yourself again! Your Ki dropped suddenly and I…” he blushed “I feared the worst…”

Goku frowned at the other Saiyan “Are you messing with me? Why aren’t you talking?”

Vegeta bared his teeth and shouted “What the Hell are you talking about Kakarrot?”

Goku furrowed his brow then put his hand on Vegeta’s chest “Say something,”

Vegeta narrowed his eyes “What are you playing at Kakarrot?”

Goku’s eyes widened when he felt the vibrations of Vegeta’s talking. Goku slowly withdrew his hand and stared at Vegeta “V-Vegeta…”

The Prince growled, his patience wearing thin from this game “What?” he crossed his arms.

Goku swallowed hard “Vegeta… I… I can’t hear you…”

Vegeta’s eyes widened “What?!” he stood up then held up his hand then thought to his mate ‘Don’t move, i’m going to do something’ Goku nodded and sat still. Vegeta put his hand near Goku’s left ear and snapped; not even a twitch. He did the same to the other ear and got the same response; nothing. Vegeta felt his heart drop and he sighed and sat down next to Goku ‘You’re right, your deaf’ he rubbed his face tiredly ‘I don’t know how long for though’

Goku sighed ‘At least we san still communicate, right?’ he took Vegeta’s hand into his own.

Vegeta looked at their interlocked hands then sighed heavily ‘Yeah, I guess.’ They both looked up at the closed door when they heard a knock and a female voice call out:

“Goku dear? Are you awake?”

It was McGonagall. Vegeta growled then thought ‘It’s McGonagall. On of the students must have gone and told her about what happened.’ Vegeta stood up and went over to the door and opened it. He nodded towards Goku and said “Come in,” he turned around and walked towards his mate. “I have done my own examination of him and whatever noise was in that egg has caused him to become deaf. Most likely temporary, but deaf all the same.”

Minerva was a bit stunned to see Vegeta in the Gryffindor Boys dorm, but when she heard what he had said about Goku’s condition, she briskly walked over to Goku who was watching them with a slightly tilted head. She did the snap test like Vegeta did then put her hands on her hips “Poor dear, has this ever happened before?”

Vegeta looked at Goku and relayed what she said to him via their telepathic link.

“No, I’ve never had it happen before.” Goku said.

Minerva raised an eyebrow “I thought you were deaf?”

Vegeta sat down next to his mate “Due to our bonding, we have established a telepathic link between our minds so we are able to communicate. I simply told him with my mind what you said.”

Minerva widened her eyes a bit “Fascinating. And you are able to do this without magical items or charms?”

Vegeta shook his head “No, it is not magic. It is an ancient bond my…” he searched for the right word that didn’t make him sound like a complete alien. “My people have acquired.” he waved his tail a bit “Only those with tails have this ability as far as I know.”

Minerva nodded “I’ll take him to Poppy, she’ll see what she can do to help or fix it.”

Vegeta grumbled then looked at Goku and relayed the information. Goku nodded “Sounds good,” he stood up and looked at Vegeta “You coming with?”

Vegeta nodded and stood as well ‘Of course I am! As your mate it is my duty to make sure you are well and you need someone to tell you what someone is saying to you’

Goku chuckled then kissed Vegeta’s cheek, the Prince blushed at being kissed in front of their Professor. “Thanks Geta.” he turned to Minerva “He’ll be coming with me so he can tell me what everyone is saying to me.”

McGonagall nodded “Very well, let’s go.” she turned to leave then paused and looked back at Vegeta “Vegeta, how did you get in here?”

Vegeta shrugged “Window,”

Minerva blinked at him the shook her head “Let’s… Let’s just go.” The three of them walked out of the boys dorm and down the stairs. The common got silent when the three of them walked into view.

Harry and Hermione walked up to Goku quickly, Hermione spoke up first “Goku, you’re awake!”

Vegeta snarled “Yes, thank you Miss Obvious for pointing that out.”

Hermione frowned “Why are you here? This is a Gryffindors only area, how did you even get-”

Vegeta growled in his throat “I felt my mate in distress, I got here through a window in the boys tower, I am here now still because McGonagall and I are taking Kakarrot to the medical wing. Due to that wretched egg,” he glared at it then looked back to Hermione “My mate has gone deaf and we are on our way to hopefully get his hearing restored.” Harry looked like he was about to say something but Vegeta continued, ignoring Harry completely “We can communicate via telepathy so i am here as a sort of translator for Kakarrot here.” he glanced at Minerva “I will wait no longer than I need to, let’s go.” he grabbed Goku’s arm and started towards the House’s exit.

When the three of them finally got to the medical wing, Goku was roughly pushed down onto a bed in a sitting position by Vegeta as Minerva went to for the Nurse. Vegeta stood in front of Goku with his hands on his hips and just looked at Goku.

Goku nervously wrung his hands and looks down at them; he still didn’t like anything hospital related and hospitals ment needles… He still didn’t like needles...

Vegeta reached out and grabbed Goku’s chin with his thumb and index finger. Goku looked at him with a slightly confused expression but Vegeta just continued to look at him. Vegeta chuckled ‘You’re such a pain sometimes. Always the one to have something bad happen to you.’

Goku laughed and scratched the back of his head ‘Yeah, I’m pretty sure I have bad luck when it comes to my own well being sometimes. At least I usually recover or get brought back whenever something bad happens to me’

Vegeta flicked his forehead and scowled ‘Not exactly something to be proud of Kakarrot’

Goku grinned ‘Whatever you say Geta’

Vegeta felt a small blush creep onto his face then he stepped back when he sensed the Nurse and Minerva approaching. Poppy pretty much did the same thing Vegeta and Mcgonagall did with a few extra tests. She nodded “Good news, it is not permanent.”

Vegeta gripped his mates forearm “And the bad news?”

Madame Pomfrey shook her head then smiled “Other than it will clear up in about couple hours or so, no bad news!”

Vegeta let out a breath of relief then turned to Goku ‘YOu’ll be fine, your hearing should return in a couple hours or so’

Goku sighed happily then grinned “That’s great! I don’t like how quiet everything is.”

Vegeta looked at Minerva closely “Would it be possible to have Kakarrot come with me to the Slytherin boys dormitories or I go to his for tonight?” he smirked “One of us would probably sneak into the other's rooms without your knowledge anyway, but I just wanted to ask.”

Minerva was a bit speechless by Vegeta’s bluntness, but she realized that he was most likely right; she couldn’t stop him from seeing to his boyfriend’s wellbeing. McGonagall sighed “Fine, fine. Just don’t make a huge spectacle about it. And… try not to be seen. I’d rather not deal with other couples that want to be with their significant other.”

Vegeta nodded “Understood,” he looked back at his mate and relayed what they were talking about.

Goku perked up and his tail wagged happily behind him “That’s great! Where do you want to go?”

Vegeta mentally ‘With me and Draco of course you oaf’

Goku blinked then widened his eyes slightly and his tail wagged faster “O-Oh, okay!”

Vegeta looked back at Minerva “He’ll be staying with me in the Slytherin boys dormitory. I’ve noticed that most Slytherins tend to keep to themselves in the boys dorm anyway so there shouldn’t be any problems.”

McGonagall pressed her lips together in a thin line then said “Alright, I’ll leave you to it Vegesai.” she spoke a few quiet words to Poppy then left.

Poppy walked up to the couple then said “Alright Vegeta, please inform Mr. Son that he is free to leave now but I want him to come back and inform me if his hearing either comes back completely or he can barely hear.”

Vegeta stood up and nodded to her then telepathically relayed the information to Goku. Goku stood up, bowed then shouted “Thank you nurse!”

Poppy chuckled then waved her hands “Now get out of here you two, good night.”

Vegeta grabbed Goku’s arm then pulled him out of the Hospital wing. He pulled Goku to the side and looked at him ‘Can you Instant Transmission us to the Slytherins boys dorm?’

Goku nodded ‘Yeah, sure’ The taller Saiyan put his hand around Vegeta’s waist and put his fingers to his forehead. The two of them disappeared then reappeared near Piccolo’s bed where the Namekian was meditating.

Piccolo glanced up at then then rumbled “There you two are, it is late. Where have you been?”

Vegeta pushed Goku onto his bed to sit him down then turned to Piccolo “From what i've heard from those Gryffindors, that gold egg the champions acquired emits some sort of high pitched nose. According to them, as soon as Potter opened the egg and the noise began, Kakarrot fainted on the spot.” he growled and crossed his arms “I have a feeling that myself, the half-breed and you will have the same results. What makes this worse is that the noise somehow caused Kakarrot to become temporarily deaf.” he glanced at his mate who was looking around the room, he turned back to Piccolo “I know that your hearing is much more sensitive than my own Namek, so I advise you to keep away from those eggs.”

Piccolo nodded “Noted, thank you Vegeta.”

Vegeta huffed “Don’t mention it, seriously, don’t.” he turned around again and saw Draco sitting up in his bed with the curtains drawn back.

“Vegeta? What did you say was wrong with Kakarrot?” Draco stood up and walked around Vegeta’s bed towards his two lovers.

Vegeta’s face softened at the sight of his other mate. He walked back over to Goku and snapped his fingers at him.

Goku jolted slightly then frowned “I didn’t hear that but you didn’t have to put your fingers in my face Geta.”

Vegeta looked back at Draco “He’s lost his hearing because of that gold egg thing. It’s only temporary but he can’t hear shit right now.”

Draco sat down next to Goku and patted his leg and gave Goku and small smile which the Saiyan returned “Since you’re bonded, you can talk to him right?” he looked back at Vegeta.

Vegeta nodded “Yes, i can.” They suddenly heard a soft hiss from Piccolo, the two slytherins looked at him in confusion “What’s got your antenna in a bunch Namek?”

Piccolo rubbed his face then growled wearily “I… I forgot to finish my essay…”

Draco choked back a laugh by covering his mouth. Vegeta just laughed in amusement “Seriously?! You didn’t finish it?! By the Gods, McGonagall is not going to be happy Namekian! You better do it now.”

Piccolo growled behind his hand that was still on his face “Shut up Vegeta.” he used his Ki to will over his school bag and dug out the started essay then started to work on it.

Draco shook his head with a smirk “History of Transfiguration right?” Piccolo just grunted and continued to write and glance back and forth between his paper and a book he got from the library.

Goku looked between the three of them then heavily sighed and fell back onto the bed and put his arm over his eyes “Man! This really sucks!”

Vegeta sat down next to Goku on the opposite side of Draco ‘You'll be fine Kakarrot, I'm right here you baka’

Goku peeked open an eye then growled playfully and pulled Vegeta down to him “I'm a baka hm?” He pulled Vegeta down farther and kissed him. He pushed Vegeta back a bit then grinned “You’re the one who fell in love with this baka Prince Vegeta.”

Vegeta blushed then growled a bit at him “Stop that Kakarrot,”

Goku giggled slightly at Vegeta being flustered then glanced at Draco and winked. Draco blushed a bit knowing that he didn't want to say anything; Blaise was still awake but was reading and ignoring them. For convenience, Piccolo showed Blaise and the other Slytherin he didn't know what he looked like. He then told them that if they told what he looked like, he'd make them suffer greatly.

Piccolo groaned then pushed his school stuff away and rubbed the base of his antenna “Done… Finally fucking done…” he growled at his parchment scrolls “Who asks for four scrolls on the history of something?!” he willed his stuff back into his bag then crossed his arms and went back into his usual meditative pose.

Vegeta snorted “Didn't peg you to be someone who hated school work Namek.”

Piccolo glared at the Prince “I’m the same as you two when it comes to fighting Vegeta. I don't have Gohan’s will to work and enjoy doing it.”

Draco huffed “Isn't Gohan the smartest in the school? Top of all his classes?”

Vegeta nodded “Better than that Granger girl too.”

Piccolo smirked “That's Gohan for you.”

‘Awe, is my love talking or thinking about me?’

Piccolo twitched in surprise then shook his head and held up a hand to the other teens and closed his eyes to continue his telepathic conversation with Gohan. ‘I'm always thinking of you my mate. But how did you know i was talking about you?’

Piccolo heard Gohan chuckle ‘I just know. I would love to come visit you tonight but i can tell there's enough Saiyans in the Slytherin room tonight’

Piccolo smiled crookedly ‘I could always just go to you my dear Gohan’

He heard Gohan purr in his mind ‘Oh? And what would you do if you were here?’

Piccolo felt a small lusty growl bubble in his throat ‘I would hold you down… And ravage you with my lips and teeth…’

He heard Gohan moan softly in his mind ‘I swear to all the Kai’s, if you don't get your green Namekian ass over here…’

Piccolo bit his lower lip with a fang ‘I… I'll be right there Gohan’

Gohan growled softly in his mind ‘Be quick or I'll start without you my mate’

It took all his discipline training not to openly moan at the wave of lust Gohan pushed into his body due to their bond. Piccolo opened his eyes and noticed Vegeta, Goku and Draco trying not to laugh. He glared at them “What do you find so humorous?”

Vegeta smirked “Just you obviously getting a telepathic booty call from a certain Saiyan brat.”

Piccolo’s ears, antenna and cheeks flushed purple and he stood up and growled at Vegeta “Mind your own damn business Vegeta.”

Vegeta stood up and crossed his arms “I don't care what you two do in the bed Namekian. Just stop spreading that damn musk and choking me!”

Piccolo blinked in confusion “Musk?”

Vegeta laughed triumphantly “You didn't even realize it? Ahaha! You need to learn how to control your own body now; it's a bit different because of the changes the bond did.”

Piccolo raised an eye ridge “Changes? Like what?”

Vegeta poked his exposed green chest “To be a match for his Saiyan appetite for intercourse, your body adjusted itself to be able to cope with his needs.” he smirked “Haven't you noticed your own growing sexual appetite?”

Piccolo furrowed his brow ridges “Well… Yes, but I just thought that it was because I was attracted to him, not a change in my body.”

Vegeta snorted “In a way I guess. I can't say much for Namekian biology, but I know that a Saiyan’s biology changes slightly after they bond.”

Piccolo grumbled then nodded “Okay then, I’ll keep closer eye on my actions then.” he turned to leave when he heard Vegeta laugh at him:

“Try not to wake up the whole the whole castle will you?” Vegeta smirked flashing his fangs.

Piccolo growled at Vegeta, conjured his purple Gi and turban without his cape and shoulder pads, then conjured up a black cloak and briskly left the room.

Vegeta gave up on try to hold back and doubled over laughing hysterically. Goku, who had been watching all this, just sighed again. Of all the things he liked to hear from his mate, he treasured the moments when Vegeta genuinely laughed, laughter that wasn’t cruel or hollow, but when he really found something amusing. Goku let out a soft keening noise to show his sadness.

Vegeta stopped laughing and quickly went over to his distraught mate ‘Kakarrot? What’s wrong?’
