Chapter 11: Blood and Betrayal on the Scale Part Two

August 11th,
1997

Harry gently brushed a
finger across the top of Nox’s head. The “ferret” seemed to glare at him
reproachfully before sighing in resignation.
He couldn’t help but wonder if Nox would ever
be as affectionate with him as he was with Eris. “She has to tell me who you are eventually, Nox. You aren’t
going to be much help to us if you have to stay hidden all the time.”

Nox
glared at him with his beady, black eyes that seemed oddly familiar to
Harry. All he could do is hope that
whoever Nox really was, the Order would accept him
because of his position as the twins’ mentor.
Hell, he hoped he would be able to accept him. At any rate, the affection that the wizard in
ferret’s clothing showed for Eris made Harry want to trust him.

Draco shifted nervously
beside him and Harry gave him a quizzical look.
The blond sighed. “Are you sure its wise to let her empty out her lab? Do you have any idea the mischief she can get
up to when she has her potions?”

“Listen, she’s going to
want to be useful and its not as though the Order is going to send her out on
missions any time soon.” Harry paused
and ran a hand through his hair. “I
don’t even know if she will come with Ron and I while
we go on our search for the Horcruxes.”

“Ah, those Horcruxes again,” Draco said with a shake of his head. “And what about Granger? You’re just going to leave her?”

Harry offered his
companion a small smile. “Professor
McGonagall has told me that the school will be open and Hermione has the Head
Girl badge if she’s going to attend.
Hermione thrives off of her education and the younger years need an
example like her during this war.”

Draco nodded. “A Muggle-born who is at
the tope of the heap, so to speak.
It’s definitely the kind of example that will prove the Dark Lord’s
motives ill-planned.”

“You should try to call him
Voldemort,” Harry said softly.

Draco shivered. “It’s difficult.”

Harry frowned and met
Draco’s eyes. “Eris does. I do.
We’ve both faced him.”

Harry watched as Draco’s
silver eyes darkened slightly. “I’ll try
for you,” the blond said softly and then rose and walked into Eris’
wardrobe/lab. Harry stared after him for
a time, unsure of how he felt about the warm feeling flooding his chest. He needed to go and speak with Ginny.
______________________________________________________________________

Remus carefully wrapped
each glass vial that he pulled down from Eris’ shelves. Sirius was following suit a few feet down
from him, but he noticed that his friend was paying more attention to the witch
in the room than anything else. He
cleared hi throat, starting Sirius out of his staring. “So, Eris, will the elves give Hermione any
trouble? We warned her not to talk to
them about her ideas on their freedom.”

Eris looked up from the
cauldrons she was placing in a crate.
“They were eager to see Felicity, so they should be fine. Jelly was going to help Ginny finish up with
cleaning the sitting room.”

Remus watched as Eris
glanced at Sirius, frowned, and quickly returned to her work. He almost called out to the silly mutt as he
walked towards the girl, but wasn’t sure it would do any good. He could smell Eris’ distress, but the same
couldn’t be said for Sirius. Continuing
to wrap the vials in a conjured substance that Eris called “bubble wrap”, Remus
watched and prepared to intervene if necessary.

Sirius quietly sidled up
beside the girl and carefully began helping her. She didn’t acknowledge his presences, but
Remus knew she was aware by the slight tensing of her shoulder line. Why, if his and Harry’s suspicions were
correct, was Eris so uneasy near a potential mate? After all the soothing words she had offered
Harry on the subject, here she seemed very ill at ease with the whole situation
herself. Was it because Sirius was so
much older? Did it have something to do
with her being the one to resurrect him?
Did it have something to do with that missing explanation that Draco
kept mentioning?

Remus set down the vial
in his hand and watched as Sirius gingerly took a wrapped cauldron from Eris to
place in the crate. Their fingers
brushed and Eris flinched. The scent of
fear spiked through the room. Maybe it
had something to do with that memory Tonks and Moody viewed. He was going to have to speak with Tonks, vow
of secrecy on her part or no.
_______________________________________________________________________

Sirius sighed softly and
let a longing gaze sweep quickly over Eris’ face as he set another cauldron in
the crate. He saw her tense and wasn’t
sure how to feel about it. Was it worth
it to pursue her at all when she hadn’t even admitted to him being a possible
mate? Of course, Harry hadn’t admitted
to his potential mates either.

It
was impossible to stay away from her while they were in close quarters. Harry had warned him that it would be this
way, but it seemed so much stronger than his godson had described. Perhaps he was one of the strongest
potentials? Sirius snorted softly. Perhaps he had just been alone for far too
long.

“How are things coming
in here?” Sirius looked up to see Draco
standing at the entrance to the lab.

Sirius held back a frown
as his cousin sauntered into the room and stood beside Eris. She offered Draco a brilliant smile and
Sirius felt his gut clench.

“Are you finally getting
off your arse to help then,” Eris asked. She gave Draco a peck on the cheek and Sirius
had to suppress a growl. He moved back
to stand beside Remus and help with the vials of ingredients, solutions, and
finished potions.

Remus leaned in close to
him and whispered gently, “You need to calm down. Being jealous of her friends isn’t going to
help things.”

Sirius nodded and looked
down at the vial in his hands. It was
labeled in blue as
METAMORPH BASE. He
turned to look at the would-be potions mistress in the room. “Eris, what exactly is a Metamorph
base?”

The
slightly panicked looks that Draco and Eris exchanged were mildly amusing, but
now he was a bit worried about what he was holding. Eris spoke softly with her eyes latched to
her cauldrons. “It’s my variation on the
Polyjuice potion.”

This
definitely caught his attention and Remus’ as well. Sirius looked down at the vial again. “And how exactly is it different?”

He looked back up as Eris
pulled in a deep breath. “You can create
an original form with it, much like a Metamorphmagus. All you need are several samples to make up a
new appearance.”

“Why do you both look so
guilty,” Sirius asked slowly.

Beside
him Remus chuckled softly. “Because they’ve been using it under our noses.”

“What,” Sirius
barked. He noticed that Draco was
turning red and Eris, though her eyes looked worried, stood glaring at Remus.

“I told him that you
were catching on,” Eris muttered. “The
scent remover was too obvious and I didn’t have the time to brew a
replacement.”

“So, little Scott wasn’t
who he seemed and he was also running around invisible for long stretches of
time…and now he’s our resident ferret.”
Remus didn’t sound that surprised or angry, but Sirius was still
watching him warily. Remus’ temper was
slow and just, but when he blew, he blew.

Eris trembled just a bit
and Sirius had the urge to go and hold her.
Draco took his desired position by taking Eris’ hand. “Yes,” she said softly.

“Are you sure you know
him as well as you think,” Remus asked.
Sirius looked at his friend for a moment, the hard set of his jaw and
the mixture of fear and anger in his eyes.
What was going on?

Looking back at Eris, he
could see that she was trembling a bit now.
“I can know only how he has been with me. He’s been helping me open up to people again,
Remus. He was a major part of my turning
back to the light. He’d been working at
it for most of the summer before Felicity was taken. Remus, you have to understand that he made me
see that I still did have a choice. He
made me realize that I didn’t have to sell myself to Voldemort to save Felicity
because I wasn’t alone anymore.”

Sirius glanced back at
Remus once more and waited for his friend’s retort. The tension in the room was quite
tangible. He knew that what was being
said was important, but by the looks in Remus and Eris’ eyes, it had much more
meaning than he had grasped. Remus
sighed. “Just because he was trying to
save you does not mean that he will follow your path.”

Eris growled and Sirius
looked back to her to see that she no longer seemed afraid in the least. “No one is taking him away from me,
Remus. No one. He is my mentor, Harry’s mentor and he cannot hurt us.”

Sirius frowned. “He can’t hurt you, but what about the rest
of us?”

From
the suddenly shocked and vulnerable look on Eris’ face Sirius knew she hadn’t
even considered that fact. She pulled
herself together quickly. “He wouldn’t
do anything to jeopardize the people that Harry and I need to survive this
war.”

Remus took a step towards
her. “Eris, you must realize that there
will be a period when Nox reveals himself that he
maybe taken away from you. It may not
happen right away, but I can assure you it will happen eventually.”

Eris’ eyes flashed and
Sirius felt the temperature of the room begin to drop rapidly. “Listen very carefully, Lupin, because this
is the last time I’m going to say this.
No one, no Order member, brother, friend, godfather, or even mate, is
going to take him away from me. Merlin be merciful to the one who tried because I most certainly
will not be.”

With
that, Eris tossed the last cauldron in the crate, slammed on the lid, and
marched from the room. When she was gone
Sirius and Remus both looked back at Draco expectantly. Remus spoke first. “Draco, did you have any idea that they were
becoming that close?”

Draco looked distinctly
uncomfortable with being questioned. “I
haven’t exactly been able to talk to him lately. Before though, I could tell that they were
getting on rather well and that was before they knew he was the mentor. I know she’s been telling him things, things
that she won’t fess up to with me yet, and he won’t break her confidence by
filling me in.”

Sirius had a sudden
thought. “Draco, did she ever say
anything about mentors also being potential mates? Has she possibly chosen him and that’s why
she’s so protective?”

The
blond wizard blushed. “No, it’s not
possible, but she did warn Harry that mentors and their charges often end up
being quite intimate with each other.
But I don’t think they’re that
close yet. I may not know everything
that’s going on, but I know Eris isn’t ready for that kind of relationship
yet. She’s told me that much.”

Sirius frowned. “Why’s that?”

Draco rolled his
eyes. “Listen, I shouldn’t really be
telling you this stuff, but I’m going to let you in on this one little bit and
it’s only because you’re both going to find out eventually anyway. Eris told me that she isn’t ready for this
whole mate ordeal because…well…kids.”

Sirius wasn’t sure what
his cousin meant. “Kids?”

Remus was catching on
faster. “She’s worried about getting
pregnant?”

“That’s what it sounded
like. She came right out and said she
wasn’t ready to get pregnant and I didn’t bother to remind her that there were
ways around it. There was something
else, but I didn’t want to press her.
She’s under enough stress. Also,
well you heard me earlier; I’ve always been under the impression that she
doesn’t like children very much.”

Sirius wasn’t sure how he
felt about that. He had always thought
that having a family would be nice eventually, but when Lily and James were
busy having Harry he hadn’t been ready to settle down. Now he wondered if he wasn’t a bit old to be
having children. “Why do you think that,
Draco?”

Draco shrugged. “Things she used to say in her letters after
she and Felicity had gone shopping in France
and Germany. She always complained about the
children. She’s hardly ever been around
anyone her own age or younger, at least until she left for school. She has a hard time dealing young people. They’re just not on the same level that she
is.”

Remus sighed. “I imagine it hasn’t been easy for her to
adjust, having been surrounded by adults and molded into a proper
academic. We’ll just have to help her as
best we can. Draco, when you speak to
her about these things you must keep in mind that she needs
her mate, especially if she discovers a predestined one. Even if she has several choices she’ll only
be able to hold out for so long before becoming unstable.”

Sirius started. “But from what Harry told me they should be
able to go as long as they want before choosing, sort of take their time to
assess their options.”

Draco cleared his
throat. “It’s something like that,
but…well, according to Eris’ books it often takes quite a while to find
options. Once there are choices present
it becomes a completely different situation.”

“And are there choices
present, Draco,” Remus asked.

Draco twitched a
bit. “Its
really not my place to say.”

Sirius sighed. “We’ll take that as a yes then. We’d better get the rest of these crates down
and floo back to Hogwarts.”

As Sirius was walking
down the steps carrying two crates he caught sight of Eris with that blasted
“ferret” draped about her neck. He
couldn’t squash the jealousy that sprang up inside of him. Something in his very core had claimed Eris
as his own and wouldn’t be reasoned with.
Was life never simple?
______________________________________________________________________

August 12,
1997

Eris resisted the urge to
fidget as she sat in her seat in the headmistress’ office. Harry was on her right, Draco on her
left. Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Remus,
Sirius, and Miss Roslyn were scattered about the room. They were simply awaiting the arrival of
aforementioned headmistress so that they could begin the meeting she had called them too.
A coughing sound came from one of the portraits and Eris looked up to
see Phineas Nigellus Black
offering her a polite smile. “Hello,
Headmaster Black. How have you
been?”

“Very well, young
miss. I’m afraid I was not able to
acquire your name during your last visit.”

“Eris
Potter, sir.” Eris smiled and
ignored the odd looks she was receiving from the room’s other occupants. She noticed that the portrait of Albus
Dumbledore was sleeping and wondered if he had spoken to anyone besides herself.

“Potter? My,
how interesting. Now, as I was
saying before, young lady, I feel that you would do very well in my old
house. You shouldn’t let the sorting hat
rile you up so.” The portrait sent a
disdainful look towards the sorting hat’s shelf.

“What are you on about,
old man,” Sirius growled. “She doesn’t
need you trying to coax her into Slytherin.”

The Phineas
looked rather startled. “Sirius? Sweet Circe,
but I was told that you were killed over a year ago!”

Sirius rolled his
eyes. “Yes, well I was surprised
too. Now, what’s this nonsense about you
wanting Eris in Slytherin? Good gravy,
man, she’s a Potter!”

Eris glared at
Sirius. How many people were going to
try and stuff her in Gryffindor? Was she
even going to be attending school now anyway?
“I have no intention of letting that stupid rag put me in Gryffindor,
and, I hope you’ll excuse me Headmaster Black, but I really hadn’t thought
about Slytherin.”

Draco looked
perplexed. “Please tell me you don’t
want to be a Hufflepuff!”

Eris laughed along with
Harry and Hermione. Sirius spoke above
the noise. “Where the devil do you want
to be put then?”

“Why she wants to be in
Ravenclaw, of course,” said Professor McGonagall form behind them. “Just like Felicity was, if I’m not
mistaken. And I dare say you’re smart enough
my dear, but that’s not what we’re here to discuss.”

The
elderly witch hurried to situate herself behind her desk and Eris waited
intently to hear what she was about to propose.
Harry had told her that the school was going to be kept open, but he’d
also said that he hadn’t intended on remained anyway. Did she want to be at Hogwarts without her
brother?

Professor McGonagall
poured herself a cup of tea as she began to talk. “Now, as you all know by now, Hogwarts will
remain open despite current events. We may
be a bit emptier, with how fearful many of the families will be, but we won’t
turn away any who wish to return and that includes you Mr. Malfoy. You were formally cleared by the aurors after your interrogation and I see no reason to bar
you from the grounds.”

Draco looked immensely
pleased at this and Eris felt a sudden burst of affection for Felicity’s old
friend. “Thank you, Professor,” Draco
said softly.

McGonagall nodded. “As for the rest of you. Miss Granger, have you decided to return to
school?”

Hermione nodded. “Harry thinks that it would be a good idea to
have me here, though I’m not too keen on him and Ron running about the country
without me.”

“Nor am I,” McGonagall
said. “Especially when
you still feel fit not to tell me what you’re searching for, Mr. Potter. Be that as it may, I wish for you and Mr.
Weasley to at least attend Hogwarts part time.
There will, of course, be special allowances made for you, and any of
you others who will be joining in on Mr. Potter’s escapades.”

Eris looked at Harry and
could feel that he was battling to make the right decision. She leaned in close to him. “You’re going to need a base, Harry, and
we’re going to need to be training our new powers as well. This is the perfect place.”

Harry nodded. “Please tell us what you had in mind,
Professor.”

McGonagall smiled. “First of all, we are going to be creating a
special dormitory for you lot. It will,
of course, be smaller than the regular dorms, but still have both female and
male sleeping areas. There will be space
for Remus, Sirius, and your mentor as well as for Felicity once she is well
enough to leave the Hospital Wing. You
will only have to attend classes when you have the time, otherwise you will be
receiving private lessons from Remus, Sirius, myself, and Professor Flitwick. Between
the four of us, Eris’ proficiency at Potions, and Miss Granger’s strong general
knowledge of other subjects, we should be able to get you all properly prepared
for you N.E.W.T.s and…well, hopefully anything else
you need to face. Your mentor, I
presume, will be well equipped to handle your elven abilities with our
assistance.”

Eris suddenly realized
that everyone was looking at her. “Er…well, I’ve been telling him everything about the
inheritance and elven powers even before I found out that he’s our mentor and
Felicity’s been preparing me for years, so we should be well off.”

McGonagall nodded. “And when will you mentor be presenting
himself to the rest of us?”

“Soon,” Eris said
quietly. “Just give him a little more
time. He’s…um…I guess you could say he’s
settling his affairs.”

Everyone
in the room aside from Draco and herself seemed to sigh in frustration. Why did they all have to be so eager to get
at Severus? Didn’t they understand that
there was nothing they could do to change the mentor’s position? She thought Harry at least would have settled
down about it by now, but he probably was just anxious to find out and get it
over with.

“Now, I hope, Harry that
you will find these arrangements to your liking and agree to come back to
school.” McGonagall seemed very tense
and Eris realized that the Order definitely needed Harry and whatever
information he was concealing…the Horcruxes. He’d warned her and Draco to keep that tidbit
to themselves and they had of course. Well, she’d told Severus about it the night
before, but she’d be damned before she’d hide something that important from
their mentor.

Harry smiled his usual
lopsided grin. “I think that sounds
perfect, Professor.”

As the meeting dragged
into the more mundane details of how they would operate within the
castle…mainly how they were going to keep Sirius hidden (damn the man for his
ability to stick around)…Eris watched as her brother cast several strange
glances in Ginny’s direction. It seemed
it was time to have that talk with her brother.
______________________________________________________________________

Harry smiled as Eris
dragged him out of the castle and across the grounds to the lake. She’d said that she needed to discuss
something very important with him and he was hoping that she was going to fess
up to Sirius being one of her potential mates.
They stopped at the lakeshore.
“All right, Eris, what did you need to talk to me about?”

“Have you noticed
anything odd about Ginny?”

Harry bit his lip. As a matter-of-fact, he had. The day before when he’d gone to talk to
Ginny he’d noticed that she was no longer glowing golden, but light green. Not only that, but if he tried hard enough he
could block her aura completely. Draco,
on the other hand, still glowed a very faint gold when
he looked at him, occluded mind or no.
“Yes, I assume you’ve noticed it too then?”

Eris nodded. “She’s glowing green and I haven’t the
faintest idea what it means aside from the fact that I don’t think she’s an
option for mate anymore.”

Harry felt panic rush
through him. Merlin! Did that mean Draco was his only option? He wasn’t even sure how he felt about being with
another man yet. “So…so Draco is my
predestined mate…my only predestined mate to be specific.”

Eris sighed. “I’m not so sure anymore, Harry. Something about your description just seems
off now.”

“Okay, tell me what you
think is different.” Harry stared at
Eris intently.

Eris frowned. “It was how you described their auras. You said they were only glowing faintly after
you occluded your mind, but Sirius still looks like a golden idol now matter
how hard I try to block him. Now, I know
I was quick to tell you that they were predestined before…but now I
wonder.”

“Do you think they’re
just really strong potential then,” Harry asked then frowned. “Well, Draco anyway. I guess we don’t know what’s happening with
Ginny until we do some more research.”

Eris picked up a rock and
tossed it into the lake. “That about
sums it up, Harry. Look at it this way,
this means that it’s probably only a matter of time before you find more
candidates.”

Harry frowned and
continued to watch Eris’ attempts to skip rocks. Loath as he was to admit it, he wasn’t so
sure he wanted other options. He had
just begun to get used to the idea of being with Draco. Of course, that was with Ginny in the mix and
it helped that Draco was behaving quite differently these days. Did he want to be with Draco, just
Draco? Would he find any female
candidates now that Ginny seemed to be out of the running? Would he even live long enough to have
anything to offer to a mate?
____________________________________________________________________

August 14th,
1997

Eris started as Draco
came bursting into their new mini-dormitory’s common room. Professor McGonagall had thought it best to
get it set up right away. Trailing
behind Draco were Ginny, Hermione, and a beautiful witch with long,
silvery-blonde hair. She immediately
noticed that Hermione was carrying a dress.
It seemed that it was time for her fitting. She rose and walked over to the blonde witch,
extending her hand. “Hello, I’m guessing
that you’re Fleur.”

The witch smiled
brightly. “Oui! I am
most pleazed that you are still going to be in the
wedding, Eris. We ‘ave
brought your dress. Why don’t we go into
your rooms so that you can try it on?”

Eris smiled and
nodded. Draco plopped down onto a couch
with a pout. “Well, I suppose I’ll just
wait here then. Come out as soon as
you’ve finished the adjustments so that we can pick out a hairstyle.”

Eris rolled her eyes and
hurried to follow the rest of the girls into their rooms. Within moments, she found herself surrounded
by floaty, burgundy satin. She was surprised that Fleur had decided on
actually dresses for her bridesmaids instead of formal robes, but wasn’t going
to argue considering the fact that the dress was in very fine taste. They had an empire waist, scoop neckline, and
angel sleeves that nearly touched the floor.
It was trimmed with silver and Hermione had either a fine silver
braiding or silk ribbon for Draco to weave through her hair. He would be pleased.

Fleur couldn’t seem to
stop cooing over how beautiful Eris’ hair was or how wonderfully the burgundy
complimented her skin. Eris was certain
that the color would clash with her eyes at any rate, but when she looked in
the mirror she realized that the jewel tone of the dress actually matched well
with her emerald peepers. It seemed that
she would avoid every bridesmaid’s sea foam and pointy shoed nightmare in all
respects, especially once Ginny revealed the elegant burgundy slippers they
were going to wear.

When
they reentered the common room Eris was quite pleased to find that she left
Draco speechless…for a few moments anyway.
“Eris you look…divine! Now this
is what I was talking about when I said we needed to work on getting your
mate’s attention. This get up is almost
enough to make me wonder why I prefer men.”

Eris froze. Did Draco realize what he was saying? Had he decided to simply fess up or had he
been into Ron and Harry’s secret store of Firewhiskey? Fleur and Ginny didn’t seem too
surprised. Hermione looked stunned for a
few moments and then hurried to set up a space for them to work on the
hairstyles. “Draco…did you…er…”

Draco pulled her into a
brief hug. “I know what I said, luv. I’m trying to
set a good example for you.”

Eris’ eyes narrowed. “How so?”

“No more secrets,” Draco
said simply. “Now, let’s get to work on
that hair.”

Draco seemed to have a
firm idea of what he wanted her hair to look like, because within a few flicks
of his wand it was in looping and interweaving braids all down her back. He began by braiding the top layer of her
hair and weaving it into a decorative knot at the high back of her head and
then braid the rest into what resembled a Celtic knot
design in some ways. He’d also
masterfully weaved the silver ribbon throughout the whole display, allowing it
to peek out here and there for accent.

Ginny whistled in
approval when it was all finished.
“Whoa, Draco, how did you get so good at those hairstyling spells?”

Eris looked up at Draco
and saw that his eyes were sad. “I
always helped my mother with her hair. It’s
not something I do for just anyone, but I’d be happy to help all the
bridesmaids if they’d like as a special treat.”

Hermione, perceptive
witch that she was, picked up right away that the offer was a bit forced. “Draco, if it will bring up…painful memories,
then we really can manage on our own.
Thank you for the offer though.”

Draco smiled and then
stuck his nose up into the air. “Are you
kidding, Granger? You need me.”

It was a testament to how
far they had all come in such a short time that Hermione and Ginny both
recognized that Draco was joking.

“Now we need to test out
your dancing skills in that dress, luv,” Draco said
imperiously. He turned to Ginny. “Music, maestro?”

Ginny waved her wand and
a waltz with a moderate tempo filled the air.
Before she had a chance to protest, Draco had swept her into his arms
and was twirling her about the room as the other girls quickly whisked the
furniture to the sides of the room. She
was self-conscious for only a moment before giving into Draco’s exuberance and
laughing as he spun her about to a three count.
Soon Ginny and Hermione were dancing along with them, giggling all the
way, and Fleur was pretending to conduct the music with her wand. Eris spotted Nox
watching them with interest and she wished for a moment that she would
transform and dance with her.

She was in the most
carefree moment she had attained in months, perhaps even years, until the
portrait door burst open to reveal Sirius, Remus, Harry, and Ron. She’d wanted to bolt immediately, but Draco
continued to twirl her about the room and Ginny and Hermione split up to grab
Harry and Ron. Fleur snatched up Remus,
leaving Sirius free to stare at Eris, and stare he did. Eris felt as though his gaze was burning into
her. The waltz didn’t stop soon enough
in her opinion and silly Ginny was allowing another tune to begin. She saw Sirius making his way towards her and
cast a pleading glance at Draco.

He leaned in close to her
ear. “No more lies, dear one.”

Pulling back, he kissed
her on the cheek and then proceeded to grab her about the waist and spin her up
into the air. She glanced at Sirius and
immediately caught the jealousy in his eyes.
Draco was doing it on purpose!

Just as Sirius made a
move to cut in, Ginny ran over and grabbed her
arm. “Come on, Eris, we should get that
dress off of you so that Linken or Tinken can take it back to the Burrow.”

Eris smiled gratefully at
Ginny, but felt a tiny twinge of remorse at the look of disappointment on
Sirius’ face. She’d managed to slip away
this time, but would she be so lucky at the wedding?
