Chapter 10

Harry stood in shocked silence, his heart was pounding in excitement bus his head was swimming with disbelief.

“I … I love you too...Draco...” Harry managed to choke out, barely above a whisper. His words hit Draco hard in the chest and caused him to stop instantly and spin around to look Harry in the face.

“Wha … What did you just say?” Draco asked, shock at the reciprocation in his voice. “ Say..Say that again.”

Harry had closed his eyes and was staring at his trainers when Draco gripped his shoulders and shook him lightly. “Harry, look at me.” When he looked up, Draco saw nothing but raw emotion in the other boys deep emerald eyes. Draco pulled him close and claimed his mouth, he pulled away and rested his head against Harry's.

“You're serious?” He breathed, hardly sure if he heard Harry correctly or not.

“Yeah.” Harry's soft response came, he had gone back to looking at his trainers. “ I love you too, have for a while, if you must know.”

“ Then let's go... back to my room...” Draco breathed as he grabbed for Harry's invisibility cloak and waiving his wand to vanish the candles, cloaking the two boys in darkness.

“ Go … back?” Harry whispered, “Why would we go anywhere?”

“ To finish what we started, before you change your mind.” Draco chuckled lightly in response, a wicked smile gracing his lips as he threw the cloak around both their bodies and they disappeared from sight.

Draco slipped out from under the cloak a few paces from the entrance to the Slytherin common room and told Harry to stay close behind him. He stopped in front of, what to Harry, appeared to be an empty stretch of wall; that is until Draco spoke the password and it twisted round and opened to reveal the Slytherin common room. Draco stepped briskly inside, Harry on his heels; which almost caused an issue when Draco stopped suddenly when someone called his name.

“ 'Oy. Drake. Where ya been mate? Its after 2, what have you been up to?” Blaise asked from his perch of one of the arm chairs in the front of the fire. Draco turned to look at him, washing his face in the same cold staring blank look he usually donned.

“Now that would be none of your business, now would it Zabini?” Draco drawled, moving a few steps closer to his door and privacy with Harry.

“ Well now that would depend on a few things now wouldn’t it Drake? Like say if you had dropped something personal in your rush out of here to meet a certain person a few hours ago?” Blaise smirked holding up Draco's journal and the letters Harry had sent him.

Draco paused and his face flushed with horror. “ Okay. So what do you want Zabini? Who have you told?” he asked softly reaching out for the items.

“No one … yet.” Zabini smirked a very evil smirk. “That all depends on how you answer a few questions for me.” he replied pointing at the sofa and indicating for Draco to sit. Draco walked around to the frond of the couch and sank down into it. Harry opted to saddle up behind the sofa and out of they way instead of maneuvering around near Draco.

“Alright Blaise … what is it you want to know?” Draco asked, sounding deflated.

“Simply this Drake. What you write in this journal of yours about Potter; Do you mean it or is this some carefully designed, elaborate plan to destroy the golden boy?” He leaned forward to watch Draco's reaction and decide which course of action he needed to take.

“ Its not a scheme. Its all truth, and those other pages were sent to me not excerpts from or another part of some plan.” Draco stood up and looked Blaise in the eyes. “Are you going to rat me out to him, tell the whole house what you've found out?”

He just shook his head. “Actually Drake, I'm quite happy for you. Disappoints it wasn't me.” he chuckled softly. “But glad you found your one, you can have him come out of hiding now, if he wants to that is.” Blaise spoke to the room. “I'll back you and there’s no one else about, so you can go back to your room unhindered if you’d like.” and with that Blaise stood and ascended the stairs to the main dormitories.

Draco sunk down into the sofa completely defeated and incredibly relieved. “Harry, come here.” he called at last standing up and closing the distance to his bedroom.

Phew...that was close.. the down and dirty stuff starts soon. Gomen for taken so long. More very soon I promise!!
