Special AN:
Here and now I want to say thank you to BronxWench and Pittwitch for their help with the last couple chapters and this one. They took a great deal of their very limited personal time to sit and work with me so I got everything in here 'right'. I'm one of those beings that, though I can make just about anything sound good, I want it 'right', even if no one else realizes it is. D/s is not my area and, though I can dance in it to an extent, to take on something like this, I'm lost. Those two know it far better than I do, so I went to them. Their help was invaluable to me to make sure I got the facts right and how to work with the situation I put Harry in. So, to both of you, thank you! You're the best!
-The Psycho Fruit
Coming to what he assumed was in the morning, Harry was groggy and out of it, something definitely not normal for him. He was one of those people that were alert right off the bat because of the way his life had been. Today wasn't that way and he wasn't sure why. While trying to get oriented to his surroundings, he felt himself being held and a hand rubbing over his stomach. That made him stiffen up, becoming wary. However, he quickly remembered that he was in Grimmauld Place, not at the Dursley's, and was in Sirius' room. So, it was his godfather doing it. That made him relax. Still a little confused because he was feeling slightly disoriented, something not normal for him, he tried running the events of the night before through his head to see if there was anything there that would be the cause of it.
Swiftly, he sorted through the whole mess with the Durleys then moved on to the bout of sex with Sirius. That part gave him an internal grin, that's for sure. Then came that strange effect from it. Cringing internally at some of his behavior then what Snape and Remus saw, he wasn't sure to make of whatever happened. Hell, he didn't even know what caused it to determine what it was. He was going to have to ask Sirius or Snape to explain that part as they both seemed to know what caused it. Though he did like the assurances given that no one was going to say anything about some of the strange things they saw or heard. That helped as he knew the two wouldn't mention anything nor would they make fun of him. He was starting to relax when he got to the part about them viewing the memories. That was where he was finally horror-struck by what he had pulled and given them. No! Oh shite, he did not show them that part! Playing through the memory, he wanted to die. Then it got even worse after Lucius showed up. Right now, he was sick with himself over some of what he revealed and angry. Oh yes, he was furious with both himself and all of them! This was horrific. Nor did he know what to do about it or how to react. His first instinct was to run and break off all contact with any of those involved. How he would do that, though, he didn't know. As Lucius said he was going to take the memory to his solicitor, there was no way to get away with any of this without others finding out. Shite!
Groaning, not opening his eyes, but trying to pull away from Sirius, he just wanted to get out of the room then hide somewhere for a while until he could figure out what to do and how to handle this. However, as he tried to do that, his godfather's arms tightened around him, not letting him move. He should have known that was coming, honestly, but he just couldn't face any of them right now and wanted some time alone to figure out what to do then how to handle this. No, he couldn't deal with Sirius right now, he really couldn't. He was sure the man was probably completely disgusted by what he had said and wouldn't want any more to do with him. After all, he was 'damaged goods' that most wouldn't want anything to do with after allowing Vernon to pull that shite with him for so long.
Sirius was tired, that's all there was to it. Sleep hadn't happened much overnight with all that they had learned from Harry. He spent most of the night awake thinking about what he wanted to do to his godson's so-called family and Dumbledore, not to mention everyone else in the world that had failed Harry. There was also the fact that he had no idea how to deal with Harry when he woke up. With what he knew of the young man, this was going to be bad. Harry wasn't going to take what happened well, that's for damned sure. He was at a loss as to how to go about this, honestly.
Since dawn, Snape and Remus, both, had been up here several times to check on the two of them. Snape had sat for a while and talked to him. Between the two of them they had tried to figure out a way to deal with the hell that they knew was coming. That was the only reason he had what little of a workable plan in place, that's for damned sure. Lucius had sent several messages as well. Like he, Remus and Snape, Lucius was beating himself over the head and feeling very guilty over having failed Harry over the years. Not to mention second guessing himself, things they had seen and the relationship they were now in. Like him, Lucius was wondering if the relationship that was now there might not make matters worse or even be perceived as continuing the abuse. That was something he had brought up with Snape as the man knew his godson better than the rest of them did.
The man had thought it over for a long time, looking at Harry while he did, then had shook his head. Though saying it was a complex situation, one he wasn't really sure about, he thought that since it was something Harry had been exploring and wanted before it was brought up to him, he thought it was fine. He also said he didn't see it as a continuation of the abuse at all. It was as they initially said; Harry was searching for something to fulfill a need and this was what he found to do it. Nor did he think that backing away from it now, unless it was something they didn't want, would do any good. In fact, it might make matters worse, having Harry thinking he was the cause, not the situation itself and the root cause that made Harry explore that aspect in the first place. Then, frankly, the man wondered if it wouldn't drive Harry further down the path they feared. Sirius didn't like that idea nor did Snape. If that happened, Snape was of the opinion that there would be no hope left for him as he would pull back from everyone.
After thinking it over and shooting a few messages to Lucius, both of them concluded that they wanted the relationship and it made them happy so they were going to continue on. Plus, they adored Harry, that's all there was to it. That seemed to please the Potions Master. Sirius, though leery of making what issues were already there worse with this, wasn't going to back away from his godson. That was the end of the discussion as far as he was concerned. The relationship was going to continue on, if Harry would allow it, and press forward just how they had planned. Snape seemed to feel that was best for all around as well. His thought was that the two of them would protect and shield the young man from matters being made worse over what was revealed and would protect him from anyone or anything that tried to draw him in. That, more than anything, was something Harry needed right now. This was going to be bad to deal with, all of them knew it, and they didn't need to make matters worse.
Feeling Harry stiffen up then start to pull away was enough for Sirius to realize that his godson was awake and probably remembering what happened the night before. Snape had made it clear that he thought it was best to not give Harry time alone or allow him to run off. He was dead certain that in doing that Harry was going to back away from everyone and everything. As he was fairly clueless as how to deal with this, he was going to take that advice and deal with his godson right now, not letting him have time to make the situation worse.
Clinging to Harry, staying wrapped around him, he stroked his godson's bare stomach and whispered in his ear, “Shh, Harry, it's just me. Just relax. Nothing's wrong.”
Stiffening up, trying to pull away, Harry managed to get out, though his voice was uneven, “Let loose, Sirius. I need to—I just need to be alone for a while.”
“I'm sorry, Harry,” Sirius mumbled, not sure what to say, but not letting loose either. Shaking his head, he said, “This is all my fault. If I hadn't been an idiot the night your parents died and wanted revenge, none of this would have happened. Then when you were ready to run off with me an hour after we met, I should have known something was really wrong and taken you with me, no matter what Dumbledore said. I'm sorry.” Leaning his head against his godson's, he whispered, “Daddy loves you Harry, he really does. He wants a chance to make it up to you and fix his mistakes the best he can.” Honestly, he wasn't sure if this was the right thing to say, but it was the only thing that was coming to mind right now so he was going with it. Pausing slightly, he then said, “Remus, Snape and Lucius are sorry as well. It's our fault you're in this mess and that what happened with Vernon went on. We want to help, Harry. I know we don't deserve it, but we want a chance to make it better for you. We can't take back what happened, but we can work with what is there now and try to fix it the best we can to make your life better.”
Though he stopped struggling, Harry was still rigid in Sirius' arms. Rubbing his eyes, he didn't know what to say to that. All he knew was he wanted to go find a hole to crawl in and die. He didn't think he could handle those he let close knowing what had gone on with Vernon. Nor could he handle the knowing looks he would get from this point on or the pity that had to be there. He—just no! “I just want to be alone for a while,” he finally managed to get out, shaking his head.
“No, Harry. Stay with me,” Sirius whispered, holding him tightly. “You can yell at me all you want, throw spells, whatever, I don't care. I deserve it anyway. Snape is downstairs right now waiting for you to come down and throw the worst you have at him. From what he said, he's not going to shield against any of it because he's sure he should have known what was wrong because of some things he saw from you. I won't either. You have every right to be angry with us, we all know that. And you can take your temper out on us all you want. Nor will we try to stop you.”
Head dropping, Harry groaned, shaking it. He didn't know what to do as it was obvious that Sirius wasn't going to let him loose. “I can't handle this,” he sighed, shaking his head. “Just forget last night and let me go. I don't want to deal with this.”
“No, Harry,” Sirius said gently, shaking his head. “We can't forget it happened and we can't go back. You're going to have to deal with it, as are the rest of us. It's not going to be easy, we all know that, but we will. I'm going to be honest here; I'd rather have you hate me now than stick you back in that situation again. Please don't force the issue to where that is a choice to have to be made.”
“Just leave it alone!” Harry hissed angrily. “I can handle Vernon on my own! I made that clear. He backs off and leaves me be. That's all there is to it and all that needs done.”
“No, it's not,” Sirius told him, tone firm for the first time. “You don't get it, Harry. You shouldn't have to deal with Vernon or have to make him back off. This shouldn't be happening in the first bloody place! And it's not going to continue on. We guarantee you that. I don't care what it takes, you're not going back. Period. The four of us all agree on that.”
Shutting his eyes, breathing heavily, Harry didn't know what to say. He just couldn't handle this and what would come from it. Everything had been progressing well, other than the shite last night, and he wanted the relationship with Sirius and Lucius. This—it would ruin everything. “Why the hell did you lot need me to tell you that? It's shite and in the past! Nothing can change it. It should be left there. All it's going to do is make my life more of a living hell and screw up everything!”
Not sure what to say to that, Sirius shook his head then thought it over. After a few moments, he said, keeping his tone soft, “You don't understand, Harry. It's not going to screw up anything. I promise! Lucius and I aren't going anywhere. We're here with you and staying put, if you'll let us. That's entirely your choice. It's also not going to make us look at you any differently. All it means is that we probably understand some of what is going on better than we did before, nothing more than that. And what will come of it won't be worse than what you went through with Vernon, that I promise. Your solicitor will make sure of that.”
“Oh, bloody great! Just who I want to know,” Harry snarled. “It's bad enough you lot know, I don't want anyone else knowing I was Vernon's little fuck toy!”
Wincing at that, Sirius shook his head then said, keeping his tone soft, “Harry, he can help you. That's why Lucius took the memory to him. He can make sure that you never go back and everyone involved in this nightmare faces the consequences of their actions, like Pomfrey and Dumbledore. And what you are is a victim of abuse, not a toy or whatever. What happened to you was abuse, pure and simple, nothing more. You are in no way to blame. Vernon is, completely, and your aunt as well as everyone else you told that did nothing to stop it.”
“Don't give me that shite,” Harry snapped. “I could have done something to stop it since I have magic. It's saved me before and it could have then. So there was something there about it that was my fault.”
Keeping as tight of a hold on his godson as he could, he turned Harry around to where he was facing him. Though Harry wouldn't look up at him, he leaned forward and kissed him on the head then said, gently, “Look at me.” When Harry looked up, a furious expression on his face, he continued, “It doesn't work that way, Harry. We all wish it did, but it doesn't. If it did your mum and dad would still be alive. The same with many others. Accidental magic can save you from many things over the years, but it can't defend against everything. Many magical children die each year from accidents their magic can't rescue them from. It's a hit and miss thing at best when it comes to when it kicks in. In this instance, it didn't do that. I'm betting most of it kicked in when you were older anyway. That's usually when it does it, not when you're young if you're not living among others that are magical. Hell, even with magic, as big as Vernon is, I'm betting I couldn't fight him off if I didn't have a wand. He has so much bulk that if he gets you down, you're done. As young as you were, I doubt there was anything you could have done.”
Snorting, looking down, Harry shook his head. “Things exploded here and there during times he was--” trailing off, he said no more, clutching onto Elliot who seemed to be clinging to him tighter than normal.
“That doesn't mean it could save you. It was just reacting to your emotions, nothing more. It was like the bit with your aunt. You were in no danger and what happened was a reaction to your emotions of what she said, nothing more. Accidental magic isn't something you can count on to protect you,” Sirius explained, stroking Harry's head. “Harry—none of this is your fault. None. Of. It. I don't care what you think. If you flopped naked in Vernon's lap and begged him to fuck you at that age, it's still his fault if he does because he is an adult and you weren't. At that age, you can't agree to anything like this. From the sound of it, you didn't agree. That lays it all on him, not you. Well, him and the arseholes that knew then did nothing about it.”
“I just want to forget it ever happened, not talk about it and move on,” Harry snapped, shaking his head.
“You can't,” Sirius told him gently. Stopping, he rubbed his eyes, not sure how to deal with this. It was complicated, that's for damned sure, and he was at a loss as to what to do to make it better.
“Oh yes I can,” Harry snarled, looking up at Sirius. “If everyone wouldn't talk about it, say nothing and forget what you saw, I can. Just forget it ever happened and we aren't going to talk about it again!”
“No,” Sirius told him, voice firm for the first time. Taking Harry's face in his hands, he made his godson look at him. “We can't. You can't go back there and there is no way in hell you are going to be anywhere around Dumbledore, or go back to that school, because of this shite. We're going to make sure of it. So is your solicitor. He's furious from what Lucius said. In fact, Lucius said he's never seen the man that irate in his entire life. From what Lucius wrote to me, he's vowing to go after everyone involved in this and make them pay.”
Groaning, rolling his eyes, Harry shook his head, “I've heard this before, alright? So, pardon me if I don't believe it. Everyone gets all kinds of upset and then I get my hopes up, but nothing ever happens. I just get to go right back to the way it was other than it getting worse because I opened my big mouth and Vernon gets pissed.”
“I completely understand,” Sirius nodded. “However, you know the four of us, Harry. Especially me and Snape. We don't lie to you and we keep our promises. Remus and Lucius are the same way. If it takes going about it some other way than the legal one, we're going to do it. Lucius has already promised if he has to handle your so-called family himself, he'll do it. As angry as he is, he will too, trust me. He will take them apart.”
Looking down, shaking his head, Harry said nothing. Rubbing his eyes, he was trying to think and find a way out of this nightmare. Right now, he wished like hell he had a time turner so he could go back and undo this disaster to make it to where it never happened.
Pulling Harry close, holding him, stroking his back, Sirius rocked them slightly, not sure what else to say to him. Shutting his eyes, holding him tightly, he tried to think. After several minutes with Harry not acting like he was going to say anything, he thought he might have something that could work. “Harry,” he started gently, “until you say otherwise, Lucius and I are still your daddies. Part of being that means we protect you, from everything. You might want it for the sex part, something that’s obvious, but you like the other as well. This is part of that. We're protecting you. And it's something neither of us have a problem with. You just need to trust us to do that. And we will. You know me, Harry. You know I would do anything for you. And I don't care the cost. I would protect you no matter what. And Lucius is the same way. I swear on my magic that he is. He's absolutely furious over this and is vowing that someone is going to pay. Along with that, he's swearing that you will never go back to there or the school, either one. He doesn't care what it takes. Just trust your daddies, alright? Let us take care of you. It's time you didn't have to do that on your own, Harry. You've had to do that for far too long and it's time someone else helps. You did a damned good job of it too, better than most ever could have. There is nothing at all wrong with someone else stepping in and helping. That's our job, Harry. And it's one we take seriously.” Stopping, he wasn't sure what more to say to Harry on the topic. He just hoped like hell that this wasn't the precursor to Harry completely blowing up.
Stopping and listening to what Sirius said, Harry reached out and clutched onto his godfather's shirt so tight that his knuckles turned white. No one, ever, had offered that to him before. He had always, despite what people said about letting them handle whatever, had to take care of him himself. Always. Be it at the Dursley's, Muggle school, Hogwarts, whatever, it was always him that had to take care of himself. No one ever offered to step in and do it for him or handle his problems. Snape helped him work out a way to do that, but never offered to do it for him. He understood why that was and accepted it. Everyone else—they just assumed he was strong enough to do it and let him have at it. Starting to shake, he shut his eyes tightly and pressed to Sirius. Much to his horror, he felt his eyes burn slightly. However, he said, voice uneven, “Please don't make me promises you can't keep. I can't take any more of that.”
Taking that as one hell of a good sign, Sirius told him, tone firm, “I'm not. We'll take care of you, Harry, I promise. You just need to trust us to do it. That's all. We can work with what is here, just trust us to guide you the right way. In the end, we'll make sure it works out for the best. Nor will we think any less of you for letting us do it or what happened to you in the past. You are our good little boy.” Holding Harry close, he stroked his hair. “Daddy loves you very much, Harry. More than you will ever know. I would never hurt you, you know that. Just trust me and don't back away. We'll face whatever comes with you and make sure you stay safe from everyone.”
“Promise me,” Harry said softly, voice uneven, clinging to him.
“I promise,” Sirius told him with a nod of his head while he continued to stroke his hair. “I swear, Harry. You just need to trust me. I won't ever hurt you, you know that. Ever. I won't steer you wrong either.”
Nodding, Harry said nothing, eyes screwed tightly shut, still burning slightly.
“You're my good little boy,” Sirius told him softly, kissing him on the temple. “Just trust your daddies to take care of you. Let us help, Harry. That's part of our job. We can't change anything that happened in the past, but we damned well can make sure the ones that need to pay do and you are safe. We'll do that. Just let us, that's all it'll take.”
“Alright,” Harry said, voice uneven and slightly shaky.
Relief flooding him that the worst was over, or so he hoped, he then said, “I'm going to start right now with a promise, Harry. What happened last night won't ever take place again. It was an aberration. When you hit a state like that again, you have my promise, the same with everyone else's, since we've talked about it already, no serious questions will be asked of you. Whatever topics come up we want to know about, we'll discuss them the next day when you're 'with it' again. It won't happen again, you have my promise. Daddy Lucius and I will make sure of it.”
“Good,” Harry sighed, trying to get his emotions under control. Quietly, he then asked, “What caused that anyway?”
“It's called MagicalSpace,” Sirius told him then quickly explained the basics. “What you said about our magic wrapping around is the major cause of it. That makes it highly compatible. Add on the trust you have in me and something I'm guessing about, though not sure of, that you let go with me in a way you haven't with anyone else, and that's the state you can reach.”
Thinking it over, Harry was curious about it. He had never heard of such a thing before, actually. And Sirius was exactly right; because he had to be cautious with his partners before Sirius, he never fully let himself go with any of them. Hell, most of the time he topped, something they wanted. “Is it just something that can only happen once or can it happen again?” He finally asked, feeling more in control now that they had changed topics and it was something he was interested in.
“Actually, you can probably reach it very easily,” Sirius chuckled. “With as compatible as our magic is, as long as you trust me and let go, you can get there again. I'm not sure about with Lucius as I don't know where his magic is on the scale or how close it is to yours. Since you can see it, do you know?” That he was curious about since it was a state his partner longed to be able to reach.
“His is just one shade darker than mine and overlaps the same way. It even entwined the same way yours did.” Harry told him, rubbing his eyes now that they had finally stopped burning and he wasn't in danger of any tears escaping.
“Then you can probably reach it with him too once you trust him enough,” Sirius explained. Snorting, he grinned, “His and mine don't overlap, do they?”
“No,” Harry told him with a shake of his head. “From what I saw, I think, maybe, they might barely touch, but they don't overlap or act like they do with mine.”
“Oh, he's going to be disappointed,” Sirius snorted, grinning. “He's already said he's going to make you fill him in completely so he could try, hoping they were close. I don't think there is a shot with me and I doubt, with our relationship, that he can manage with you.”
The mere thought of him topping with Lucius was enough to make Harry shake his head. “Uh—if I have to top, no. I can't see me even trying that. Definitely very wrong there.”
Chuckling, Sirius nodded, “Yeah, that is a strange image, I admit it. He would let you, no doubt there since he doesn't care one way or another with that, but I don't think you have enough experience to get Lucius the slut there. He's a little too jaded for it to happen easily.”
Giving an amused snort at that name, Harry just shook his head. Quietly, he admitted, “It felt bloody brilliant, that's for damned sure. The more you two touched me afterwards, the better if felt.”
“I imagine it did. The magic pushed that and kept the feelings going. You'll be able to manage it again. It just might take some time to settle in after what happened,” Sirius told him, rubbing his back softly. Kissing him on top of the head, he said, “Let's stay like this a while and make sure you're calm, then we'll go downstairs to get you something to eat. Snape and Remus are waiting. They are worried about you and are preparing for the worst. They aren't going to say a word about any of it, Harry, or what they saw. They do want to ask about some things, like seeing the magic. Snape is really curious about that part and wants to ask some questions about it.”
Saying nothing, Harry just gave a short nod, rubbing his eyes once more. Relaxing fully against Sirius, he wrapped one arm around his godfather and clutched Elliot close, liking how it felt for the dragon to cling to him.
Relaxing back slightly, feeling better, though knowing there were probably more problems to come later on over the topic, especially when it came to going to court over that bogus charge, Sirius just wanted to destress slightly before going downstairs. However, there were some things that did need to come. Holding Harry close, rubbing his bare back, he said, “There are some things I need to cover with you.” Feeling Harry nod, he said, “Tomorrow, your solicitor wants to see you. Remus and Snape are going to take you. He's also well aware that a big dog is going to be along as well. Snape is going to change the color of my fur and do something with it so it won't look odd to anyone that might be watching. We won't sit in the office with you unless you allow it, but we'll be there. Though I would like to for moral support. The man needs to get with you to go over what he wants to do and how to handle this mess. Lucius said he has something in place, though he doesn't know what, but needs your approval. Just trust in him, Harry. He's your solicitor and is only going to do what is best for you. Listen to what he says and go from there. That's all we ask.”
Sighing, feeling his stomach clench at the thought of talking to the man, Harry said, tone resigned, “Alright.”
“I very much doubt that you're the only person he's ever had to deal with when it comes to these kinds of things. It's far too common, sadly enough. He's not going to think any less of you either. Just trust his judgment. He knows what he's doing. From what Lucius said, the man has some kind of plan in place, though he doesn't know what, to not only get you away from the Dursley's, but ensure that you don't go back to Hogwarts. At least listen to him before you decide.”
“I can do that,” Harry sighed, already not looking forward to this.
“In the end, it's all your choice, remember that,” Sirius told him softly. Changing topics, hoping to get through the bad parts in bits, mixing it with things that were positive, he said, grinning, “When we get done eating, you need to come back up here and go through all the presents Lucius sent you.”
“What?” Harry asked, confused. “Presents?”
Giving an amused chuckle, Sirius explained, “You'll quickly learn that Lucius deals with stressful things or bad situations by giving presents. He's like Snape in that he's not good at expressing many things and is too in control of himself to easily show emotion or what he feels. Instead, what he does is buy you every bloody thing under the sun he thinks you might like. That's what he's done. It's his way of apologizing for failing to find you when you were young then get you out of the situation. Not to mention all the stuff after you started school. So, he went a little overboard and bought you all kinds of shite. Most of it relates to the relationship from what I've seen, but there are plenty of other things as well. I've had to empty the bloody basket of them three times so far even though they are shrunk. I'm damned sure one of the boxes contains a new broom, though I didn't open it to find out.”
Grinning just a little, Harry snorted, shaking his head. Then, quietly, he added, “It's not any of your faults.”
“We hold our responsibility, Harry,” Sirius told him quietly, tone firm. “We made mistakes and that helped. You can't absolve us of that. In Lucius' case, this is how he's trying to make up part of it to you. Just enjoy it.”
“Okay,” Harry sighed. This—he wasn't sure what to make of some of it, but he was going to work with what is there.
“I do need you to do one thing that might make you uncomfortable.” Feeling Harry stiffen, but nod, he pressed on, “When we go downstairs, bring Elliot with you. Lucius sent over a huge list of charms you can put on him. Some we do want. Snape and Remus are going to need to help me with those as they are better with some of them than I am. They aren't going to say a word, I promise. Some of what I saw on there you're going to love, like him being able to fly a little. There are also cleaning charms, one to tether him to you, a waterproofing one, stuff like that which will be necessary.” Grinning, though he knew Harry couldn't see him, he chuckled, “There is also one that can make him huge. I thought that might be neat to see, even just for a little while.”
Thinking it over, Harry said, “I can do that I think. As long as--” trailing off, he shrugged.
“They aren't going to say a word,” Sirius assured him. “Remus thinks he's great and Snape is actually amused by him.”
“Alright then, I can.” Giving a soft snort, he said, “I think a huge Elliot is a bad idea. He's already bitten you once. Making him big will just give him a chance to try to eat you or something. Even with stuffed teeth, that won't end well.”
“I didn't think of that,” Sirius laughed, giving Harry a squeeze. “Some we aren't going to chance, like the breathing real flames. No, that won't end well. Others would be interesting though.”
“I like him just how he is,” Harry shrugged. “I can look though. Some, like the cleaning and waterproofing, are needed though.”
“They are,” Sirius confirmed. “It'll help. We'll look them over and see what we can determine.” Sighing, he then launched into another of the more uncomfortable ones. “When you’re down there, Snape wants to do some scans for scarring.”
“What kind of scarring,” Harry asked, stiffening up.
“Internal. He says not only is it something your solicitor will need, but he can make you up something to get rid of it. He just needs to know what is there.” Stopping, he asked, gently, “Is there some external as well?”
With a sigh, Harry just nodded at that. “It won't hurt or anything?”
“No,” Sirius told him with a firm shake of his head. “You'll feel something, but not much. He wants to find out what is there so he knows what to make up for you. Let him, Harry. He's just trying to help. I think it's his way of doing what Lucius is. As he knows what he's doing with that shite, it can only help you.”
“Alright,” Harry sighed, shutting his eyes again.
Running his fingers through Harry's hair, Sirius kissed him on top of the head. “Let's just relax a while then we'll get up and go find something to eat.”
Liking that idea, Harry sighed and clung to his godfather, holding Elliot tightly.
Sitting and talking quietly, the two men in the kitchen were seriously worried about what might be coming their way. Though they both figured Sirius could deal better with Harry in a way they couldn't, they weren't sure that a major explosion wasn't headed their way with the young man. That's why when they heard the footsteps approaching and the two talking, they both stiffened up then looked at the door warily. However, they both relaxed slightly when the two came in and Harry seemed calm, talking to Sirius with Elliot perched on his shoulder. Though the young man flushed slightly when he looked at the two of them to say hi then wouldn't meet their eyes, there didn't seem to be any kind of violence in the offing. Actually, neither one could see his wand and assumed it was tucked safely in his back pocket.
Relaxing some more, hoping Sirius had worked with Harry enough that he wasn't going to explode, Remus smiled at the two as they sat down. “I have breakfast for both of you waiting. You want milk with it, Harry?”
Nodding, Harry said nothing, not able to look Remus in the face.
Reaching out to rub his godson's head then slipping his arm around Harry's waist and pulling him close, Sirius said, “After we eat, I need both of you to help with some charms for Elliot. Lucius sent over a butt-load that can be applied to him. Some we do need.”
“We can do that,” Severus said after taking a sip of his coffee. He was pleased with this. Whatever Black did with the young man apparently worked and Harry was calm, though looking uncomfortable. Quietly, he said, “Harry, I'm sorry. I should have known something wasn't right and stepped in. With as well as I know you, I figured something was off. I should have done something.” Normally, this was not something he would do, but because of the magnitude of what went on, not to mention his relationship with the young man, he was going to. It would only aid things from there on out.
Shaking his head, Harry replied, “Not your fault. It's nothing to worry about.”
“I hold some and I take responsibility for it,” Severus told him firmly. “From here on out, I plan to ensure that I help all I can. Albus can go take a flying leap. You come first.”
“Thanks,” Harry muttered softly, glancing at the man as he took the plate from Remus.
“I apologize as well,” Remus told him quietly as he sat down. “As with Severus, I plan to do all I can to help and you will come before anything else. You have my word.” Seeing Harry nod, though looking uncomfortable as he started to eat, Remus glanced at Snape then said, “We wanted to ask you about seeing magic.” Producing a grey-scale chart they had come up with, he pushed it to the center of the table. “Can you point out where all our magic appears on this.”
Pleased to be off the topic, Harry pointed out where everyone's was on the sheet while answering questions.
Listening intently, watching where Harry was pointing, Severus asked, after seeing how close his was on the scale to Harry's, “Where is Lucius?”
“His is the same as yours actually,” Harry said, looking at the professor.
Grinning, beginning to chuckle, Sirius shook his head. “Lucius has been trying to find someone with compatible magic to try to reach that state with since school and one was under his nose all the time!”
Giving an amused snort after taking a sip of his coffee, Severus replied, tone smooth, “And one he wouldn't try anything with either.”
“He's going to have kneazles!” Sirius laughed. “There are two of them and neither are ones that he will manage it with. I'm too far away for him to even attempt it. He's going to be depressed.”
“He will and it'll be most amusing,” Severus snorted, shaking his head.
Scratching his head, looking at Snape's magic, Harry asked, confused, “I don't understand some of this. The Professor's is the same as Lucius', but it doesn't wrap around mine like Lucius' does. Why is that?”
“Because of our relationship. You don't see me in that way, so it isn't going to do that,” Severus explained softly. “If that changed, it would. It's nothing more than that. All it means is that I would be compatible if we were to go there, nothing more.”
Nodding, now understanding, Harry then asked, “Is seeing magic something that is actually useful or is it one of those things that isn't?”
“It can be, depending on what you do.” Remus told him. “If you duel professionally or for fun, it can help determine power levels and what you might have to work with when it comes to someone. Healers find it useful for diagnosing several things if they have the gift. If the levels shift around, it can tell them that something might be wrong. Teachers can find it helpful with older students to see how they are progressing. There are other things as well. It's not overly so, but can assist with some.”
Taking that in, Harry then asked, “Mine's darker than most my age I know. Why is that?” From what he had seen, all those about his age he had been asked about were almost dead center. The ones older were all over the place. That he didn't understand.
“When you start out and are just learning, you tend to be in the middle. That's where most under the sixth year are. It's about the sixth year when it starts to shift to one end or the other,” Severus explained. “With you, I'm guessing it's the fact that you are quite powerful, probably more than most your age, and the fact that you know far more spells than most your age do. Granger knows quite a few, no doubt there, but I know she doesn't have the power to back them the way you do. Plus, yours are used more for defense than hers are. She can defend herself, no doubt, but not like you can. Plus, I believe you're far more mature and had to go through more in your life than most of those your age. That would add to it.” Lowering his voice, keeping it soft, he added, “There is also the fact that you are far more sexual active than most your age. That affects it as well.”
Taking that in, Harry understood and gave a nod. Pushing his plate back now that he was done, he leaned against Sirius.
Vanishing his and Harry's empty plates to the sink where they started being washed, Sirius pulled out the list of charms then copied it and passed it to the other two. Holding the list out for Harry, he said, “This is what we can do with him. I thought, for sure, we need the tethering, cleaning and waterproofing charms. The flying one—oh, we have to try that! There are the fake flames as well. That should be fun. The different colored smoke as well. I also thought, maybe, make him a little bigger for you. The rest—it's up to you though the adjusting to your personality charm should help. It'll make him more compatible with you.” Looking at the stuffed dragon that was now clinging to Harry's chest, blowing him another raspberry, he grinned, “I do like the idea of seeing him huge, but I agree; he'd try to eat me and it wouldn't end well.”
Snorting, Snape said, “It would be amusing though.”
“For you lot, not me!” Sirius laughed.
“We could call it an instructional lesson on how it works and it would be educational,” Remus added, smiling as he looked at the list.
“Yeah, well, no chance, Moony. We aren't doing that.” Sirius chuckled.
Looking at the dragon, Remus asked, “Where did Lucius get him? I have never seen anything close to something like that anywhere. Even in toy stores.”
“I have no idea, but he's great,” Sirius said, looking at the dragon.
“He is,” Remus nodded. “I know plenty of children that would love a toy like that. It's far more advanced than anything out there I've seen.”
“I have to admit I've not seen anything like it either,” Severus said with a shake of his head. “This is like having a pet you don't have to feed. I can see the attraction here, that's for sure. I know plenty of older ones that would adore it as well, including many in my house at school in the upper years.”
“You'll have to ask him because I don't know where he got him,” Sirius said, shaking his head. “He's great though! Even if he doesn't like me.”
Sliding over by Harry, Severus had him hold the dragon on the table. Looking at the list, he said, “Let me get the waterproofing one on. That one I do know well. We'll then go from there with what we're doing.” Casting the charm, making sure it took, he then gave an amused snort when Elliot grabbed hold of his wand in its mouth and clung to it, chewing on the thing. Lifting his wand, seeing the stuffed dragon cling to it, he said, “Mr. Potter, I do believe this thing is yours. Control him, if you would. I don't need teeth marks on my wand!” Actually, it was funny and he was completely amused by it.
Grinning, Harry pulled Elliot off and sat him back on the table.
“Padfoot, I swear, we need to come up with something like this. It would be great!” Remus chuckled as he prepared to put the cleaning charm on the dragon.
“We do! Then sell it to Fred and George. We'd make a bloody fortune,” Sirius laughed.
After breakfast and charming Elliot then Snape getting the scans he needed, Harry and Sirius retired back to the bedroom. Now Harry was sitting cross-legged on the bed with Elliot flying circles over his head, looking around at the mass of presents surrounding him, bemused. He didn't know what to make of it or where to start when it came to opening them. Shaking his head, he petted Elliot when he landed in his lap.
Sliding up behind Harry, wrapping his arms around his waist, Sirius said, “Well, grab and start unwrapping. We'll go from there.”
“What did he do? Buy out a couple stores?” Harry asked, grabbed the nearest one, starting to pull the paper off.
“No, but I bet he made a lot of people that work on commission very happy,” Sirius snorted, grinning.
Shaking his head, Harry went to work.
About twenty minutes later, he was surrounded by a mass of things on the bed. Like Sirius had told him, there were plenty of things that related to the relationship. He had the all in one pajamas with the feet, several pairs that had things like dragons, hippogriffs and other creatures on them. Several different kinds of nappies with the same kind of creatures on them. Bath towels the same way, toys for the tub, a blanket and pillow, bed railings to put on a normal bed that would make it like a crib, and the like. Some of them made Harry flush a bright red, but he liked them. That wasn't all though. He got a brand new Firebolt, the latest model, a 'year box' of chocolates from Honeydukes, meaning it automatically filled up for a year, new clothes, a wand holder, robes, slippers in the shape of dragons, books and all manner of other things. Looking at the Firebolt where it lay on the bed, he just shook his head, grinning slightly, “He went a bit overboard.”
Laughing, Sirius nodded, “He did. This is Lucius. You'll get used to it. It's just his way, Harry. I accepted it long ago. With me, it's easy to express what I feel and say it. He's not that way. This is how he does that.”
Looking around, Harry nodded then said, quietly, “He didn't need to.”
“No, he didn't. This is what he does, though. Accept it for that and move on,” Sirius told him, holding him close, giving him a kiss on the shoulder. “He's very protective of those he cares about and spoils them rotten. You can expect plenty more of it in the future. You are someone he adores and cares about, so you get to be on the receiving end.”
Taking that in, Harry looked around, not sure what to make of some of it, though liking it even if it embarrassed him.
Holding his godson tightly with one arm, Sirius picked up the railing and looked at the instructions. “I think you're going to need to help me put these on later. It looks like a two person job to me. The rest—let's just put it up for now. Find a pair the pajamas you want to wear then we'll lay down for a little while. I'm tired as I didn't get much sleep last night. We can lay down together while I nap. That good with you?”
Liking the idea, Harry nodded, rummaging through the stack of things on the bed to find the blue pair of pajamas with red dragons on them. These would work. Handing them over to Sirius, he waited.
Pleased that Harry seemed to be fine with it, Sirius levitated the rest of the stuff off the bed and into a stack to handle later. “Alright, let's go get both of us changed and lay down. I imagine, knowing Lucius the way I do, more will be in the basket when we wake up. Let's get some rest though, at least I will.”
Sliding to the edge of the bed, Harry waited. He wasn't sure he would sleep, what with all that was running through his mind, but laying down and being held by Sirius was something he wanted. Besides, it would give him time to think over everything. That he needed right now.
