Hermione snapped her eyes open, and was immediately startled as the forms of Adrien, Ron, and Harry came into view.
"How the bloody hell did you three get up here?" Hermione exclaimed, pulling the covers up over her skimpy nightie.
"Like I said, my Gryffindor Princess, a magician never reveals his secrets." Adrien smirked at her.
She looked around and realized that the other girls had vacated the room already.
"By rights, Adrien, all of us here are "magicians." What time is it?" she asked sleepily.
"Time for you to get yourself out of bed and come have breakfast. We've been waiting for twenty minutes." Harry told her.
"Alright then, leave so I can get dressed." she snapped.
The three wizards laughed with satisfaction about their clever entrance and exited the room, leaving her to her privacy. She was very dismayed at her rude awakening, as she was having a most endearing dream. She mused on it as she dressed herself.
The dream depicted herself, gently touching Severus's face in the dark, while his eyes fluttered; his breathing becoming shallow with satisfaction. The image of herself leaned in slowly, and just as gently as she had touched his face, she wrapped his lips up in her own, while a throaty moan could be heard. The urge to show him just how amazing he truly was had been heavy in the dream, and it remained just as heavy as she dressed herself. It was then that she knew she wasn't just interested in one night with the dark wizard. She as interested in him, period.
Hermione slowly descended the stairs, dressed in her school robes, shirt, skirt and tie, and found the three intruders sitting on the sofa engaged in a heated debate over who the better Professional Quidditch Seekers and Keepers were. She wisked past the three and made to exit through the portrait hole, when she heard them get up to scamper behind her.
"Hey, we waited for you!" Ron bellowed as he closed the portrait back over the entrance.
"So? I happened to have been having a very good dream. I'm not happy with you three." She said, automatically kicking herself, as she knew Adrien would be wasting no time invading her thoughts to see what she had dreamed about.
The younger Snape sat across from her at the Gryffindor table today, shooting her sly, all too knowing looks, but he looked pleased, none the less.
"Why do you keep looking at me like that?" she asked quietly, surveying her surroundings to make sure no one else could hear.
"No reason..." Adrien winked.
"No, there's never "no reason" with you, Adrien." Hermione said. She wanted to laugh, but didn't.
"I just think it's really nice." Adrien said, sincerely.
"What is?" she asked, almost confused.
"Let's just say, he needs that sort of comfort, Hermione. No one has ever treated him that way. I mean, I think it's nice that you obviously want to treat him the way you did in that dream of yours. He looked really happy..." Adrien mused and trailed off.
Hermione's body eased the building tension in her shoulders.
"Well, after what you told me yesterday about what you read in his journal, it weighed on my mind until I went to sleep. I think he does deserve someone to treat him well after all the shit he's been through." she explained.
Adrien nodded in agreement.
"Really, Hermione, I don't think there's anyone better for him than you. Even if there is a significant age gap." he winked at her.
Hermione smiled and finished her tea, and took a glance at the staff dais, where Professor Snape sat; his form covered completely by a copy of the Daily Prophet, save for his pale fingers gripping the edges of the paper.
"Shall we be off then?" she asked.
"Of course, mi'lady." Adrien replied as he stood, and came round to her.
The pair linked arms as they always did, and exited the Great Hall to prepare for Transfiguration.
The lesson in Transfiguration today was actually quite fun.
"Today, you won't really be transfiguring anything, but, you will be trying to change colors in honor of the upcoming holiday." Professor McGonagall explained.
"I want everyone to pick a partner, and try to change their hair color using the spells found in your books on page 462."
With the sound of chair feet being scraped across the floor, everyone found their partners. Hermione and Adrien, of course were already sitting with one another. They bent over their books and Hermione got the clever idea of trying to turn Adrien's beautiful, long ebony locks crimson red.
"Crimson red, eh? I like that idea." Adrien mused throwing her a wink.
"You fucking cheater." Hermione fumed, giving him a playful nudge. She was almost afraid, for she had no idea what the wizard had in store for her own hair.
Adrien took off his school robes and laid them over the back of his chair as he stood, exposing his long, enviable hair. She rarely ever got to see just how long it was, since he always kept it tucked in a hood, or inside of his robes. She couldn't help but gush at the long thick mane of dark hair.
"Gods, your hair is amazing." she said as she ran her fingers through the silken locks. As she did so, she couldn't help but wonder what Severus's hair felt like.
"Fuck sake, Hermione, stop day dreaming." Adrien teased her.
Hermione sighed, not even embarrassed as she pointed her wand at his hair, and muttered the color-changing spell. To her delight the whole lot of it turned a beautiful shade of red.
"Well done, Miss Granger. That looks simply dashing, Mr. Snape." Professor McGonagall said, as she surveyed his hair. "Not one spot of black left. Nice job."
"Hmm... I like it. I think I'll wear it for a few days." he said before he turned to Hermione.
"Your turn." he smirked at her.
"Ugh... Be kind." she said as she stood, also removing her robes.
Before she knew it, the hair on her head had been changed to a bright purple color. She surveyed herself in the mirror, deciding she actually liked it.
"I'll wear mine for the week if you wear yours." Adrien told her with a smile.
"Okay." she agreed.
"Look at Ron." Adrien said as he nudged her.
She whirled around to watch Harry and Ron, and she was highly amused at the sight before her. Ron's hair had been changed to a lime green color, and Harry's was now cerulean blue. Adrien and Hermione made their way over to the boys. Ron's hair looked absolutely wild in comparison to his still-red eyebrows.
"Wicked" Harry commented looking at Adrien's long red hair.
"We've agreed to wear these colors for a week. You two ought to do the same." Adrien laughed.
-----
The four strange colored haired friends made their way to Potions, and Adrien couldn't seem to get over the hilarity of how badly Ron's hair was clashing with his eyebrows.
"You ought to change your color mate, that looks pretty ridiculous." he laughed breathlessly.
"What color do you suggest then?" Ron huffed.
"Hmm... What color, what color... Oh!" Adrien pulled his wand out and pointed it at Ron's hair and turned it magenta.
"Pink! What do you think I am, Adrien? A fairy?" Ron fumed, but laughed in spite of himself.
Adrien and Harry laughed all the way into the classroom. Professor Snape sat at his desk, clearly bewildered by all the strange colors filing into his classroom. He caught sight of Adrien, and smiled in spite of himself.
"That's quite an interesting color on you, Adrien." he commented, grabbing a strand of his son's hair. "I like it." he said.
"Really?" Adrien asked raising a brow.
"Yes, it suits you." Severus said.
It was rather odd to Hermione, and, well, everyone else, to see Severus be so enthusiastic about something, but she welcomed it. It was a nice sight.
Severus's eyes moved from his son as Adrien took his seat, and rested them on Hermione.
"I suppose Adrien did that." he said.
"Huh? Oh, yes.." she said, almost forgetting all about her own hair.
"Yes, Minerva does indeed fancy Halloween." Severus mused before he moved to stand before the class.
Everyone quieted down before he began to speak.
"Well, I won't say that today's Potions lesson will be as fun as your previous Transfiguration class. Everyone turn to page 405 in your books, if you please."
Hermione wasn't sure if it was just her, or was Severus in a... Good mood?
