Chapter 13
Draco woke before Nicole. He watched her sleeping, worrying that the curse didn’t actually leave her body. He would never be rid of that worry, no matter what. Thinking, he absentmindedly ran a hand over her abdomen, where his child was growing, safe inside her womb. ‘Wow, a father. I’m going to be a father. Let’s hope I don’t mess up this kid’s life like my own father tried to do with mine. Please, let me be a good father for our child,’ he thought to himself. Slowly, he rubbed his hand in a circle on her stomach, lightly, not wanting to wake her. She needed the rest. She stirred slightly and he removed his hand and resumed staring at her. She was the most beautiful woman that he had ever seen. He knew it back in his second year when he first saw her and he still knew it today. Now she was his and he wasn’t letting her go.
Several hours later, Nicole opened her eyes to see Draco watching her. “Okay, that’s a bit creepy,” she said, turning over onto her back.
“Sorry, you’re just so beautiful. I can’t help myself sometimes,” he said, grinning at her. Nicole shook her head and got up to head for the shower. Draco watched her walk across the room.
At the door to the bathroom, she stopped. Looking over her left shoulder, she gave Draco a heated glance, “You just going to lie there, or are you going to join me in the shower?” she asked and continued on into the bathroom. He gaped at her retreating back, stunned by the wanton look in her eyes. He heard the water begin running in the shower and that brought him out of his stupor. He jumped out of bed and bounded to follow her into the shower. Stepping into the stall, he found her with her back to him, pulling her hair up off of her neck to get it wet. His mouth went dry seeing her standing there like that. “Well, don’t just stand there, get in here,” she laughed, knowing he was staring at her again.
Draco stepped forward, closing the shower door behind him. He reached forward and placed his hands on her hips, bringing her closer to him. He let his hands slide around her waist as she leaned back into him, sighing at the feel of her skin on his. Nicole tilted her head to the side and he bent his head to press his lips against her neck. He sighed against her skin, “You are amazing, Nicole. I can’t believe how lucky I am to have you all to myself. I love you so much,” he said, reaching for her shampoo and pouring out a good sized amount in his hand. He moved his hands to her hair and began massaging the shampoo into the red curls that he loved.
“I’m the lucky one, Draco. If not for you, I would have been dead a year ago. If not for you, I would have really perished in that cell at the Manor. I love you, Draco and can’t wait to be your wife,” Nicole replied, turning in his arms to plant a kiss on his lips. Her hair forgotten, Draco lowered his hands to her waist, lifting her easily to impale her on his hardened cock. She let out a loud gasp at feeling him enter her. He took a few steps and her back came in contact with the wall of the shower. He began thrusting up into her, desperate for release. She wound her fingers into his hair, pulling his mouth to hers. He thrust his tongue into her waiting mouth at the same time he thrust his manhood up into her. She moaned at the feeling, her body suddenly clenching around him inside her. He continued to thrust into her deeply, wanting her to orgasm again before he did. He didn’t have to wait long. She wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him deeper into her as another orgasm washed over her, her muscles clenching around him again, drawing him even deeper. He growled at the feeling and felt his cock harden even more as he thrust one last time into her and spilled his seed. Moaning out her name, he felt his knees began to tremble and knew that he wouldn’t be able to stand much longer. Nicole lowered her legs to stand, taking her weight off of him.
Severus chuckled as Emily caressed his stomach. “Sounds like the children are awake finally,” she said, leaning down to place butterfly kisses on his chest.
“I suppose I better go make sure they are ready soon. She has an appointment with the Healer in an hour,” he said with a sigh. He still couldn’t get used to the thought of his daughter having a child at this young age. They both rose together and dressed, each aware of the other’s proximity. Severus lost in his thoughts, ‘I love this woman more than anything, why have I never married her? Why was I such a fool as to walk away all those years ago?’
“I know what you are thinking, Severus. Don’t do that to yourself, it won’t do any good. I’m not angry with you, nor am I going anywhere. I love you, Severus and I’m not letting you go this time around,” Emily said, moving to his side to make him look at her.
Severus leaned forward and drew her lips to his. “I love you so much, Emily,” he said and then sighed. “Let’s go get these kids off to the Healer and see what’s going on with my grandchild.”
They walked down the hallway arm in arm to Nicole’s room. Knocking on the door, Severus stood statue still and waited. The door opened to reveal Nicole in a bathrobe, “Yes, father?” she asked with only a slight glance at Emily.
“You have an appointment with a Healer in about half an hour. We need to leave soon,” he told her.
“Of course, father. We will be ready very soon,” Nicole answered. Turning back into the room, she saw that Draco was already dressed. Making her way to the closet, he stopped her, pulling her to him for a kiss.
“I love you and I can’t wait for our child to get here. Do we tell godfather now what we’ve decided?” he asked her.
Nicole studied him for a moment, “Yeah, I suppose we should. He should know, also Harry. He’s not going to be happy.”
“Well, that doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that you are happy. Are you happy?” Draco said.
Nicole smiled and pulled him down to capture his lips with hers. “Of course, I’m happy, silly. Why wouldn’t I be? I have you and our child, what more could I want?” she answered as she pulled away and then led him down the stairs to meet up with her father and the mystery woman that she had seen a few moments ago. Arriving in the sitting room, Nicole saw the woman sitting on the sofa, while her face was pacing in front of the fireplace. “Father?” she spoke as she entered the room.
Severus turned to see his daughter standing in the doorway with Draco right behind her. “Nicole. Are you ready?” he asked.
“Yes, father, I’m ready. I want to be sure that everything is going okay with the baby,” she said and then stepped forward. “I’m Nicole Evans,” she introduced herself to the woman.
Severus sighed and shook his head, “I’m sorry. I forget that you two haven’t met yet. Nicole, this is Emily. She’s my…my…” he stammered as he tried to think of what to call her.
“Your fiancée, Severus. Unless you were joking about having should have married me a long time ago,” Emily spoke up and shook hands with Nicole. Severus gaped at her as Nicole drew her in for a hug.
“That’s wonderful, father. You have been alone for far too long,” Nicole said as she enveloped her father in a hug. Severus smirked over her shoulder at Draco.
Draco cleared his throat, “Seems like we won’t be the only ones having a wedding soon,” he said, a slow grin spreading over his face. Severus pulled back from Nicole and stared into her eyes. She nodded slowly, answering his silent question. “Yes, we have agreed to complete the bonding ceremony and marry. Make this official and give our child my name.”
Severus nodded, “We can discuss details later. Right now, you have an appointment with the Healer at St. Mungos. We should be going,” he said and led the way to the floo. They arrived at the hospital just in time for the appointment. The Healer was waiting on them.
“Ah, Nicole, so good to see you up and around now. I’m happy to learn that the curse is gone. How about we see what’s going on with the baby?” Healer Davis said as they entered his office.
Nicole nodded and he gestured for her to lie down on the table for him to examine her. She complied and Draco stood beside her holding her hand. Severus and Emily stood near the door, watching. The Healer waved his wand over Nicole’s abdomen, scanning for the baby. His brow furrowed for a moment in concentration or confusion, no one was really sure, before his face brightened. “Everything seems to be fine. The babies are doing great. Now, any problems with nausea or tiredness, Nicole?” he inquired.
Nicole shook her head, “Nothing real big. Just a little nauseous after using the floo earlier. I figure it might be a bit early for anything more than that.”
Draco was stunned into silence, had the Healer really used the plural form? Healer Davies spoke, “Well, for someone who is 12 weeks along, you seem to be doing pretty well. I’m surprised that you didn’t realize sooner that you were pregnant.”
“Twelve weeks? Are you sure?” Severus asked.
“Oh, yes, very certain. These tests are very accurate in the magical world.” Davies explained.
Draco shook his head to clear it. “Wait, wait, wait. Did you say babies? As in plural? More than one?” he asked, still stunned by the news.
“I was wondering if anyone would catch on to that. Yes, Draco, there are 2 babies,” the healer told them all.
Nicole gaped at him, “Two babies? Oh, wow,” she whispered, looking up at Draco.
“Would you like to see them?” Davies asked. Nicole and Draco both nodded at the same time, not taking their eyes off each other at the moment. “Alright, give me one second,” he began to wave his wand over her belly. “There, see.”
Nicole and Draco looked over and saw an image of their babies hovering over her belly. Nicole gasped, Draco gaped, Severus held onto the doorway to keep from falling over, and Emily clapped her hands. “Oh, two babies, I can’t wait,” she said, almost bouncing from excitement.
Severus muttered, “Calm down, woman. You’d think it was you having a baby.” Sounding annoyed, he still smiled down at the woman he loved, loving that she felt that way about his daughter and soon to be grandchildren.
“Well now, Nicole, here is a case of potions for you to take for the remainder of the pregnancy. I would like to see you every few weeks, just to make sure everything is progressing well. I don’t foresee any problems, but with pregnancies, you never know what can happen. Take it easy, no stress if you can avoid it, no apparating, only travel by floo or broom. Apparating is just too risky. Other than that, just keep up your normal activities,” the healer instructed her. Nicole nodded, still too stunned to speak, and got up off the table to leave. Draco assisted her, treating her like she was made of glass and would break at any moment.
Once home, Nicole sat down on the sofa trying to quell the nausea that the floo travel had caused. Draco kneeled in front of her, concerned by her color. “Are you okay?” he asked, taking her hand in his.
“Yeah, I’m fine. That just made me nauseous. I’ll be okay in a minute,” she assured him.
Severus and Emily followed behind them into the sitting room from the floo and watched for a moment. “So, when do you want to have this wedding?” Severus asked the two.
They looked at each other, neither having thought of a date to get married. “As soon as possible, I suppose. We can’t wait too long or I won’t be able to travel anywhere.” Nicole said with a sigh. This was going to be a long 7 months until the babies arrived. ‘Babies! Oh, my, I wasn’t ready for one baby, now there’s going to be two. How am I going to do this?’
As if reading her thoughts, Draco whispered, “Together, we will do this together.” Leaning forward, he placed a soft kiss on her lips and then got to his feet. “We will have the wedding in 2 weeks. I’d like to have it at the Manor but, I’m not sure I’ll be welcome back there any time soon. We could have it here, if that’s okay with you Uncle Sev.,” he said.
“I think you can just call me Severus, Draco. Since you are marrying my daughter, and are the father of my grandchildren. Wow, that’s going to take some getting used to,” Severus said. “You need to tell Harry, about everything, soon.”
Nicole looked up at her father, “This will be another thing for him to get used to. There is really nothing he can do to change it,” she said. “You’re right, though, he needs to know about the wedding and that he will be an uncle sooner than we all thought.” Draco nodded and headed to the floo to call for Harry to come.
Harry arrived soon after, claiming that they were interrupting his Quidditch game with the Weasleys. “What’s so important?”
“Well, I just thought that you’d like to hear that your only sister is getting married in 2 weeks and that you will be an uncle to twins in about 7 months or less. That’s all, you can go back to your game now,” Nicole said nonchalantly.
Harry gaped at her, “Two weeks? That’s a bit soon, isn’t it?”
Nicole shrugged, “Well, considering that we do have children on the way, and that we are already bonded by magic, what difference does it make?”
“Two weeks? That’s just not enough time for me to get used to the idea of you marrying Malfoy. What’s the rush?” Harry said.
“Really, Harry. All you caught on to was the fact that we were going to marry in 2 weeks. You really do have a one track mind. There’s nothing for you to get used to. Just accept the fact that Draco will be your brother-in-law and the father of you nieces or nephews. Did you even catch the fact that I will be having twins? As in two babies at once.” Nicole ranted.
Harry stared at her, “Of course I heard about the baby. I’m not dense, you know. What I don’t understand is how you can be with him? He’s a death eater for crying out loud.”
“Former death eater, Harry. I was only trying to protect my family. You really aren’t listening to your sister, though. She’s told you numerous times that she’s pregnant with twins. Is that information not sinking past your hate for me?” Draco spoke up.
Harry stared at him a moment, “Twins?” he asked.
“Yes, Harry, twins. There are two babies in my belly and you are their uncle. I hope that by the time they get here, you come to terms with your hatred for Draco and realize that he’s a great man who loves me and will make the perfect father for our children,” Nicole told him.
Harry swallowed audibly, “Twins, huh? Let’s hope at least one of them takes after you, sis. I’d hate to have two little copies of Malfoy running around my ankles.” He thought for several moments. “For you and for them, I will put aside my feelings for Malfoy and give him a chance to prove to me that he has changed.”
“That’s all I ask, Harry. Give him a chance to prove himself to you. He’s already proven to most everyone else. He loves me, Harry, and I love him. He has taught me so much in the short time that we’ve been together. He rescued me, in more ways than one,” she said to her brother, stepping forward to hug him. “I love you, Harry. You are my brother, but you can be a bit pig-headed at the best of times.”
Harry laughed and after a promise of being involved in the wedding, he left to return to his Quidditch match and most likely tell the Weasleys the news. A house elf appeared, “Master and Mistress Malfoy wishes for Mister Snape and guest and young Master Malfoy and guest to attend dinner with them this evening at the Malfoy Manor. Please reply with me.”
The four looked at each other, “Of course, we would be happy to attend,” Severus answered. The house elf bowed low and then disappeared to deliver their answer. “I owled your parents earlier, Draco, asking them to come here so that you could tell them about Nicole and the wedding and babies. They need to know, even if they don’t want to be a part of it.”
Draco sighed, “Yeah, I know you’re right, but I can’t help feeling that they will disown me.” He dropped back down to the sofa next to Nicole and laid his head on the back of it. “I suppose we should get ready. I’m fairly certain that it won’t be casual dress for this dinner party,” he said, heaving himself up off the couch and extending a hand to help Nicole up. He was dreading this dinner already. His parents were going to flip when they found out everything. He’ll be lucky if all they do is disown him. He led Nicole up the stairs to her room to get ready for dinner.
