Alexandra's POV
I couldn't help but smile after Regulus' revelation. I was so relieved, so he was gay, that was perfectly acceptable. I still didn't see the issue. 'Lex, you're killing me here' he said. Clearly he was waiting for a reply.
'Sorry Reg, I still don't see the problem' I told him honestly.
He looked so relieved at my words, it was endearing to see. 'you don't think it's all wrong then?' I assured him that it was completely normal, and nothing to be ashamed of. 'What's he like?' I asked him, I didn't want to sound like this was an interrogation, but I was curious, I had a feeling there was more to this than what he was willing to tell me at the moment.

'He's very nice, a little older than me, he's already left school, but he writes to me often.' this all sounded okay to me. 'it's hard to describe him, but I'll let you meet him at Christmas.' I frowned at him, but then I remembered, the Malfoy engagement party. I would have to find a date for that soon, my mother would never let me live it down if I didn't have one. 'He'll be there?' I asked.
Reg nodded, 'So you'll go with him, as a couple?' I asked.
Reg shook his head 'no he thinks it wouldn't be a great time to out our relationship, so I still have to find a date.'

I contemplated that for a minute. If his lover couldn't go with him, maybe I Could. My mother would be appeased, and I would have a date. 'Say, if you can't go with him, could I come as your date?' I asked him. Reg smiled 'wouldn't you rather go with Sirius?' he said, wiggling his eyebrows. ‘a little bird told me that he's a better kisser than I am.' I laughed as I gave him a playful shove. 'I'm sure he is, but I'd rather go with you, just to get my mom of my back.' I told him. 'Wow, that's romantic, you're asking me to get your mom of your back!' I giggled. 'So will you please be my date?' I asked again. The bell rang for the classes to start again, so he hopped of the bed. 'it would be an honour' he said. He bowed, kissed my hand and said 'milady'. When he reached the doors he looked back at me and asked 'please don't tell anyone?' I smiled at him 'Tell what?' I asked, and winked. He left, looking extremely relieved.

After everyone had gone back to class, I started on the pile of homework someone, probably Mary, had left me on the bedside table. I was so absorbed in my work that I didn't hear the bell announcing the end of the day. I also didn't notice that someone had come into the hospital wing until Sirius spoke up. 'Lex, I'm so sorry for hexing you' I held up my hand to stop him, but he ignored me, as usual. 'Lily told me you were upset about the rumour that I had slept with some Ravenclaw 7th year, and I came looking for you, when I saw you all cuddled up to Snape I just lost it, I'm sorry.' for some strange reason I felt agitated the more he spoke.
He sat down on my bed. 'thank you for not pressing charges, but can you please forgive me?' he asked.

I took his hand, and squeezed it softly. 'breathe' I told him. I felt calmer the moment I took his hand in mine.
I looked up at him, and met his eyes. 'I'm sorry I believed those rumours without talking to you about it first, I'm sorry that it upsets you that Severus and I are friends, but that's the way it is, he's a very nice person, and I don't take well to people telling me what to do.' I stopped for a moment to let that sink in. 'I forgive you for accidentally hurting me, have you apologised to Severus?' I wanted to know. If he wanted my forgiveness, he should also seek Severus'. He pulled his hand back 'I will not apologise to Snape.' he said. 'If you want my forgiveness you will.' I simply told him.
He stormed out of the hospital. The moment he left I felt saddened that every time we tried to be friends, we ended in up arguing. When the door closed, I felt as if a part of me left with him. Madam Pomfrey brought me diner, and told me that I would be able to leave tomorrow morning, so I'd have the entire weekend to catch up on my school work.
I smiled at her, grateful that I wouldn't have to stay here any longer than I already had.
Severus found me picking at my diner. The squabble with Sirius had upset me enough to affect my appetite. Just like Sirius he sat down on my bed. He hugged me so tight, I was afraid that he was going to break a rib. He assured me that he was fine and that Sirius had snapped out of it as soon as his curse hit me.

He also told me about my parents' arrival here. I was unsurprised, but annoyed to hear of my mothers' treatment of him. I knew my mother didn't want me to befriend anyone who wasn't a pureblood, this had resulted in to loads of fights between the two of us.
He also told me that he'd been researching something with Sirius while I was unconscious. I was surprised to say the least, I thought that they couldn't get along. 'what was this research about?' I asked curiously. It must have been quite something if it got them to work together.

'Elemental magic.' I opened and closed my mouth several times, probably looking like a goldfish. I didn't know what I'd been expecting, but it surely wasn't this. Naturally Severus saw my reaction to his words. 'So it is true, you're an elemental?' he asked.
'Alexandra I forbid you to answer that question.'

Neither of us had noticed that my father had entered the room.

AN: A late Happy Halloween to all of you! I planned to post this sooner, but on Sunday I went to the HP exhibition, which was awsome!
