Kindred Passion
CHAPTER 15:
Sibeal peeked into the room. Achak was laying on the bed with Seanna cradled in his arms, his eyes closed. Shutting the door quietly, she began to chuckle. "It appears that whoever Seanna might be fearful of, it's most definitely NOT Achak. He's in there, lying on the bed, cuddling her." Mairead looked shocked, "Could ther so something between them?" Very firmly Karim said, "No. There is a special bond between them that goes far beyond intimacy. She trusts him as no other. Her belief in his sense of honor is so total, that if she were incapacitated, I think she would allow him to take care of her in all ways."
As Muirinn opened the door again, Achak said softly, "Come in Sibeal. I knew Seanna liked and respected me, but I never imagined she could really feel safe with me"until now." Muirinn smiled, "Come now, Achak, she told the children she wasn't afraid of you." While she spoke, Erin saw Seanna's arm curl around the Nosferatu in her sleep. Chuckling, Muirinn asked, "Achak, did she ask you to kiss her?" Stunned, he replied, "No, why?" "Well, she scared Harry by asking him. Apparently Kindred blood has the same effect on her as me." "Achak gave her an inquiring glance, and Muirinn smirked, "Yeah. It makes me horny as hell." "Oh dear," Achak said, "Thank you for the warning. Who do I call for help?" Muirinn giggled, "Can't handle it Achak?" "Muirinn Fiona Shaheen, I am not going to take advantage of Seanna!"
Cat sobered, "I know that, but I think you can deal with her quite well. After all, some of this is YOUR memories and passions." Shaking his head, Achak said, "No wonder young Harry couldn't deal with her." "Are you telling me you're a passionate man?" Muirinn smiled, "All the Kindred I've ever known are very passionate. That's what makes them such warriors." Achak chuckled, "And fantasies of mortal women the world over." "Yep! There's just something about an immortal that lights the fires," Muirinn responded, laughing. Achak glared at her, "Ok, Sibeal, quit hassling me. I'll cope with her," he looked at the bruised bundle in his arms. "After all, I do care about her, and she DOES trust me." "That's all it takes, Achak, to begin the healing within her mind," Muirinn answered. "Pleasant rest, Achak." "And to you also, Sibeal."
Returning to the sitting room, Muirinn spotted Remus. "How's Harry?" "Relax Sibeal," Remus said, "Harry's fine. I left him sound asleep, and set up a warning system. If ANY Kindred get within 50 feet of Harry, I'll know it. But we're going to have to do something else. There's so many that are his friends." Sirius spoke, "We'll just have to find another way to protect both Harry AND Seanna." He thought for a moment, "I have an idea. Miles, do you think Trey would be willing to play guardian to Harry? He could even have access to the dorms with no questions asked." Miles answered, "I'll have to check with Raissa, but I think he would do it. He also has a fondness for Harry. We already know who's guarding Seanna, and that's Achak. Mairead, Sibeal how is she doing?" Mairead replied, "She's doing better physically. Now if we can keep her calm enough, she should be able to hold onto the baby." Muirinn continued, "I think she's already making some small progress, considering that Achak is with her. It's too soon to tell if there will be any nightmares from it." "That's good, " said Albus, "But what about other people?" "Uncle Albus, I think it's too soon to try, but fear of men is a standard response to rape. I think it's time to end this discussion. We all need some sleep." As the others departed, Sibeal and Sirius stayed in their seats. "Erin, aren't we going?" Sirius inquired. "Just a moment, Sirius. I have one last thing to do." Entering the storage area, she soon returned with a mug, which she took to Achak. Coming back, she said, "Ok, Sirius, let's go to bed." He leered at her, "Oh goody! Fun time!" Chuckling, she took him by his ear, "Let's go, funny man."
Much later, Achak could heeanneanna's breathing change, "Dear one, are you awake again?" "Achak?" "Yes, child, I'm here." To his amazement, she snuggled even closer, "I'm glad it's you!" "Seanna are you feeling alright?" Looking up, she gave him a faint smile, "Don't worry Achak, I'm not going to attack you. I'm just glad you're the one here, I feel safer somehow." "That's all right then. Would you like to bathe?" "That sounds wonderful, I feel so yucky." Rising from the bed, Achak entered the bathroom and started the tub filling. Returning shortly he told Seanna, "Your bath is ready, and I'll be here if you need help." She hugged him, "Dear friend, you don't have to wait on me." "Go, Seanna, before the water gets cold."
Meanwhile, Sirius lay on the big bed, holding Muirinn close as their bodies cooled from their passion. "Erin, do you remember the first time I saw Seanna, I said she looked familiar?" "Yes, Sirius, I remember. I agreed with you. Why?" "Well, every time I've tried to focus on that feeling, I've seen a woman holding a photograph. In the picture is a sad-faced young woman with dark hair. It finally dawned on me just what I was seeing." He glanced at Sibeal, knowing this was going to hurt her. "My love, the woman holding the photo, was your mother. I remember seeing her hold it almost constantly and every time she looked at it, she seemed so sad, like the picture."
Getting up, Muirinn went to her dresser, where all kinds of family photos were displayed. Picking up one, she stared at it for a while, when Sirius saw her turn pale. Returning to the bed, she handed it to him. Seeing it he nodded, "That's the one," he said, "That's Seanna." Muirinn shook her head, "No Sirius, that was my mother's sister. I never met her. I must have been ten when I found mother crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she told me that her sister Shela had passed on. Mama told me that Shela had refused to marry the man Grandpapa had selected for her, so he disowned her. Mama couldn't tell me who she married, or if she had any children." Sirius suggested, "Well, Albus is close to your family. Maybe he can tell you something. Let's ask him tomorrow."
After a long, hot soak, Seanna found a fresh gown just inside the door. Putting it on, she opened the door, and stood in shock. There were clean sheets and blankets on the bed, and a tray of food on the nightstand. "Achak, did you do all of this?" He smiled, No, child. Your friendly house elf, Dobby did it. Come sit down and I'll brush out your hair." As Seanna sat on a stool near the bed, the Nosferatu gently worked the tangles out. "There, now climb into bed, and you can munch on Dobby's treats." She smiled, "Achak, I'm not made out of crystal." "Sorry my dear, but for now you ARE crystal, and will be treated as such. By me at least."
As she ate, Seanna thought about Tariq. "Achak, what's going on with Tariq?" Carefully he said, "Before I answer that, I need to know how you feel about him." She shivered, tears in her eyes, "I loved him so much. Now, I never want to see him again." "Well Seanna, when you rejected his blood, you rejected him. Right now, he's lucky Albus has not handed him over to the clans." She said, considering, "I know that the Clans believe a bond to be sacred." "Yes child, and what he did to you violated that bond. You were within your rights to reject him." Seanna sat quietly. With a lurch, she exclaimed, "Harry!" Covering her face, she wept, "How will I ever face him again?" Achak touched her hand, "Harry understands that you were under the influence of emotions not your own. Sibeal explained to him how, with Kindred blood, you gain memories and passions of the donors. He forgives you, because he cares. Now, it's time for you to get more sleep. Be comforted, I will stay within hearing." He drew the blankets over Seanna, "Pleasant rest, Child." "Thanks, Achak. Pleasant rest to you too."
Achak went to the sitting room. Using some of his own special magic, he placed a shield on the main door. Now no one would enter without him knowing it. Shutting off the lights, he entered his room. Undressing, he laid back on the bed, thinking, "Poor Seanna, to have so much to give, and then be treated like that.' Achak knew there had been something funny about the way Tariq was acting. The glares he had given, showed a jealousy that hadn't been there before he had been kidnapped. Thankful that he had suggested to Mairead the need for checking it out, Achak dropped into sleep. Eventually the dreams began, always about Ginny Weasley, always the same. Watching her die. Tossing in his sleep, the tears began. He saw her reach out to him as the knife plunged into her heart, saw her mouth his name.
Ginny awoke with a start, the sweat dripping from her brow. Ever since meeting Achak, she had felt a connection to him, as if she had known him all her life. Sensing his pain, she put on her robe and slippers. Though it was past curfew, she snuck out of the dorm and ghosted through the halls to Seanna's flat. At the door she sensed some kind of barrier, but the love in her heart allowed her to walk through it untouched. Making her way to Achak's room, she peeked inside, to see him crying out in his sleep. Not knowing what to do, she sat beside him and gently stroked his cheek. At her touch, the great man quieted. Thinking he was better, Ginny moved to return to her dorm. But as she rose, Achak began to cry out, "No. This can't happen. I won't let it." Thinking only of him, Ginny removed her slippers and crawled in beside him. Laying her head on his chest, she stroked his cool skin until he calmed once again. Content, she fell asleep within moments.
Awakening a few hours later, Achak discovered Ginny asleep in his arms. At peace, he was content to lie there, holding the gentle spirit. He contemplated how much different things could be if she were just a few years older. Wiping away a tear, Achak realized it would not look good if someone were to find her here. Saddened that he must send her away, he rose, taking care not to wake her as he dressed. Going across the sitting room, he tapped on Seanna's door. "Come in, Achak." Entering her room, he told her, "Seanna, I need some help. Can you come with me?" "Anything Achak, You know that." Aiding her to rise, he led her to Ginny. Shocked, Seanna inquired, "How long has she been here?" He shook his head, "I don't know. I was having a nightmare, and then something made it go away. She must have been here even then. What I don't understand is how she got through the shielding I placed on the door. "Smiling, Seanna said, "Put her in my room. If anyone asks, she spent the night there, and then you and I will talk."
The Nosferatu carried Ginny into Seanna's room, and tucked the blankets around her, "Sleep well, my Fairy Princess." Rejoining Seanna in the sitting room, she handed him a mug, "Don't say anything just yet. Drink some of it." As he sipped the contents, content to wait for his friend to decide when they would talk, Achak thought of the peace that had enfolded him while he had held Ginny. Finally, Seanna asked, "What was your nightmare about, or do I even have to ask?" Staring at her, Achak said, "After all you've been through, how can you handle my crisis?" She smiled gently at him, "It's called love, Achak. You were there for me. Now answer my question." With the mug clasped in his hands, he stared at the floor. "You're right. The nightmare was about Ginny, but how did she get through my shield?" Seanna sighed, "My much loved friend, the answer is obvious, at least to me. Have you ever thought she might have felt your pain? Something called her out of bed. I'd like to think it was your heart calling to hers." "But Seanna, she's still a child." Touching his hand, she told him, "No, Achak. I'm sorry I let you think that. Ginny grew up the moment your hands touched, for in that handclasp, she gave up her heart, a woman's heart, to you. From what I've been learning, I'd say that your shield recognized her love for you and let her pass. She came here to comfort you." She grinned at him, "I take it she did just that?" He nodded, "Seanna, I know this can't go any further." "You're right. If anyone asks, Ginny came because she was worried about me, and we weren't going to let her walk back alone."
Watching his dearest friend's face, Achak said, "Do you know, I almost didn't come to get you? It felt so good to hold her in my arms." "I think you'd come anyway. Your honor would never allow Ginny's reputation to be tarnished. And you, my friend, would not want to be referred to as a "Pedophile'. It's not your style."
As they sat in companionable silence, Seanna was thinking. At last, she said, "I know it would be hard to not be around her, so what I'll do is make this a sanctuary for you to meet and talk"" As he started to speak, Seanna continued, ""With me as chaperone, to stop the wagging tongues. Achak, have patience. She'll be there for you, one way or another. Remember when I said she would face the man she loves in a few years? Make that, when she can be considered an adult, Achak, and the man she comes to confront is you." Gazing into Seanna's honest eyes, Achak said, "Thank you, Seanna, for telling me that."
"There's one other thing that you need to keep in mind, Achak. If the first dream comes true, you are the only one she'll accept the offer of the embrace from, because you are the only Kindred she trusts implicitly. Now, I'm going to get some more sleep. Rest well, Achak, and know that she is safe right now." Kissing Seanna's cheek, he said, "Yes, for now, she is safe. Pleasant rest, Seanna."
When morning came, Achak peeked in to find Ginny still asleep and Seanna raring to go. "Shh! My bedmate's still sleeping and I want another bath." He smiled, "Alright Seanna, I'll check and see if Dobby's bringing enough food for two." A short time later, she joined him in the sitting room. "Dear child, you should be resting." "Achak, dear heart, I aT spT spending my life in that damned bed. I intend to live." As she caught his look of concern, she said, "I promise I will take it slow and be very careful, but there's no reason I can't sit here and enjoy my company." "Alright Seanna, but the first time I think things are getting too much for you, you'll find me carrying you back to bed. Is that clear?" She giggled, "Yes, sir!"
