AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'VE BEEN A BAD, BAD KALI!!! I'm really sorry about the no-updatingness. I could give a list of excuses, but it all comes down to two things ... I have a short attention span (cuz, see, I have sprites and pictures and reference documents I'm making for the story, cuz ... well ... I wanna), and I've been hitting writer's block left and right. See, I have written ahead, but I didn't want to update faster than I wrote, you know? ~sigh~ I'm really, really sorry guys. No more slacking, I promise.
So, anyway, here it is folks! What you've all been waiting for! The Order of Angelus gains not one, but TWO new members! Next chapter ... well, it will be 50% slashy, 50% het, and 100% bad naughty fun. Enjoy!
Also, I have been advised to include the following disclaimer:
This story started out as an innocent Buffyverse-Meets-Potterverse story. All conspiracy theories and/or Evil OOC Characters were brought to you by my paranoid Beta, Aimee. You can blame her when your favorite character gets maligned horribly.
Everything was dark. Draco was quite sure it wasn't supposed to be dark. But then he realized it was because his eyes were closed. It took a huge effort to open them, but he knew he had to. He had to see. He had to make sure he was home. But before he could even crack his eyes open, he felt a shift to his left, and heard twin sighs of relief.
"He made it," Angel whispered.
"Still don't have long. No telling how long he'll stay."
"Not ... going," Draco managed. "Promised."
A hitched breath to his right was followed by a not-very-well-hidden sob. He struggled to turn his head as he slowly opened his eyes. "Not working right ..." he said.
"About sixty percent of your body is paralyzed. From just below your chest down, I'd surmise," Angel offered.
"Ugh." He tried to take a deep breath, but found it nearly impossible. "Not liking this."
"Nor are we," Spike whispered. It was clear he was on the edge of a breakdown, and Draco resolved to assure him any way he can.
"I hear you have a plan?" He was met with silence. Okay, maybe he had heard wrong.
"We do, but ..." Spike started.
"Believe me, if there was any other way, we'd do it, but ..."
"We don't have much time. We need to do this now ..."
"Do what now?" Draco asked. "Wait, no. I know."
"You do?"
"I'm not stupid, you know. There's only one sure-fire way to ensure I survive that can be done quickly without hours on end of laborious research. And I accept."
"But Draco ..." Angel started.
"No. I want to. I don't want to die. And I promised I wouldn't go anywhere you couldn't follow. And yes, Will, that is my final answer."
Silence settled over them for a few moments before Spike rose from his place and said, "I'll get the bath ready."
"Shouldn't we talk to the others first?" Angel asked worriedly. Draco could understand his concern. The vampire was afraid of doing anything his comrades might disapprove of. He was constantly on tentative ground with them, and something like this could lead them to turn against him.
"They'll understand," Draco ensured, patting his hand.
"They damn well better," Spike said, his old edge finally returning. "I'll be damned if I let anyone get in the way of this."
Angel just nodded as his Mate left the room. He then looked down to his young charge. "Draco, I'm so sorry ..."
"Stop."
"Why won't you let anyone finish ..."
"Because, I know what you're going to say, and it isn't necessary."
"Oh." He thought for a moment, then said, "We've never done this with a human before. There's a chance it won't work."
"You have my full permission to take whatever actions are necessary in the event that it doesn't."
"Draco ..."
Draco rolled his eyes. "Shut up and bring me into the bathroom."
Despite Draco's harsh tone, Angel chuckled and obliged. He gently lifted him off the bed and carried him into the bathroom. Spike had a couple towels laid out on the floor and the bath water was running.
"Peaches, I need the stuff." Angel nodded and, after laying Draco on the towels, left to fetch the herbs and the ointment. Spike turned from the tub and knelt next to the boy. "Okay, Dray. Don't be embarrassed now. I have to take off your clothes."
He smiled slightly. "I wrote the rituals, Will. I know what happens."
"I just don't want you to be uncomfortable."
"Angel heard me wanking off, moaning your names. Nothing much more embarrassing than that."
Spike chuckled as he gingerly began to remove the younger man's clothing. Draco shut his eyes and tried to block out the desirous thoughts rising in his mind. Now was not the time. He tried to ignore the feather-light touches that were removing his shirt. However, as Spike moved lower, undoing the buttons, the feeling was lost. Draco's eyes snapped open.
"Something wrong, luv?" Spike asked, seeing the fear in the younger man's eyes.
"I can't feel. I could before but ..."
"Paralyzed, remember?"
The weight of his situation finally hit him. "I really am going to die ..."
Spike shushed him as he brushed platinum hair from steely eyes. "It's okay, luv. You'll be fine." He kissed the boy's brow and went back to removing the shirt. "You will have to ... die. But you'll be back. Okay, gonna try to sit you up for a sec." He snaked an arm under Draco and hauled him into a sitting position to take the shirt off his arms. Afterwards, he gently laid Draco back down on the plush towels, and started on his jeans. "I'll make sure everything goes off without a hitch."
"I gave Angel permission to take whatever actions necessary if it doesn't ..."
"It will ..."
"... the same goes for you." When Spike seemed to ignore him, he said, "Will, look at me."
Spike stopped what he was doing and didn't move. Draco could see the muscles of the vampire's jaw working. "I won't lose you," he said quietly. "This is gonna work I'll make it work I don't care what I have to do." The words spilled out as he closed his eyes. "You belong to us. You have since you were born, I'm sure of it. You were meant to be part of our family, and you will be, no matter what." He finally turned to meet Draco's gaze. "Got it?"
Draco smiled slightly and nodded. His heart swelled with adoration, for both of the vampires. He'd never been loved like this before, and while it scared him a bit, he was thoroughly enjoying it.
Angel entered then, as Spike was just jimmying Draco's pants off. The elder vampire smirked and cocked an eyebrow. "Getting comfortable?"
"Lying naked on a hard floor that I can barely feel? Oh, yes."
Angel laughed. "Well, if you still have your sense of humor, we know it'll be okay. Should I just add these in?" he asked Spike. At his Mate's nod, he began sprinkling the herbs into the hot water. "Almost ready?"
Spike nodded again, and leaned down closer to Draco. "You ready to go?" he asked softly, stroking the young blonde's cheek.
"Yeah. Let's go."
Spike tenderly hoisted Draco from the floor and brought him to the tub. As he placed him in the water, he said, "Now, just let all of your pain and sorrow and everything bad just get sucked out by the water. Let it flow through you, cleansing you."
Draco closed his eyes and sighed, relishing in the hot water where he could still feel it. He let the warmth seep through him, pushing out his old self. The whiny, selfish prat of a boy was leeched out of him into the water, ready to be sucked down the drain. This made room for the changes that would be taking place during his Turning. He sighed again and smiled as he felt the sponge wash over his shoulder.
He opened his eyes and looked at Spike, who was concentrating on washing his Childe-to-be. He caught Spike's gaze, and the vampire smiled down at him with pride. "You really are beautiful, you know?" Spike murmured.
Draco couldn't fight the blush that erupted just about everywhere. "Thank you." He closed his eyes again and allowed himself to enjoy the attention. However, it was over all too soon.
It wasn't long before he was being lifted from the water and once again laid down on the towels. Angel handed Spike another towel, and the platinum vampire began gently patting Draco dry. He was amazed at the affection and tenderness Spike, formerly William the Bloody, was exhibiting. Draco felt as if he was something precious and loved, and by the way Spike looked and smiled at him, that wasn't far from the truth.
This was a far cry from how he felt around his birth parents. No, he thought, pushing it from his mind. He was not going to let his old life intrude on this.
The feather touches were back, but this time they rubbed his skin. He smelled lemons and coconut, and knew it was the purification ointment he had created. Spike softly massaged the ointment into Draco's skin, taking care not to miss a square inch. Both Spike and Draco became slightly uncomfortable as he approached Draco's midsection, but it couldn't be avoided. Draco was glad he couldn't feel in that area, as he was sure it would turn out rather embarrassing.
Finally, Spike was done with Draco's front, and with Angel's help, he rolled the boy over. Draco had to really control himself. The thought of both vampires touching his bare skin (even if he couldn't feel it in some places) was enough to set him blushing again. Of course, Angel commenting on how lovely he looked when he did didn't help.
It felt like an eternity before Spike was finished and carrying him into their bedroom, still naked. He was once again placed on the large bed and Spike sprawled beside him. Angel sat on the other side of him, ready to assist if needed.
"Alright, you know what you have to do," Spike said.
Draco nodded. With a (difficult) deep breath, he recited the Oath that would bind him to the Order. As he had been the one to help Spike memorize it previously, he too knew it by heart. He felt dizzy afterwards, as it took a lot of energy to say it all. He was still reeling as Spike applied to the numbing ointment to the inside of his wrist.
His excitement grew. He was so close to having the very thing he wanted ever since that first morning he had shared breakfast with the vampires. He was ecstatic by the time Spike began to apply the tattoo. He watched with fascination as the ankh slowly appeared, then its wings. That was it, he was marked as an Angelian now. But, it seemed Spike wasn't done.
As he added the infinity symbol above the ankh, he said, "The blood of Angelus is eternal, infinite, never-ending. Those of his blood who bear the Mark of Infinity are Heir in truth to the Order of Angelus and all its power. They alone possess the strength and ability to reign over the Order. You, Childe of the Blood, bear that strength, and so I hereby declare you Heir in truth to the Order of Angelus."
"But, I thought ..."
"I am," Spike said. "But, as I'm Angel's Mate, if he goes, I won't be far behind. So, we need a secondary. I can think of no one else more capable of leading than you." He smiled, then bit his lip, leaning in to kiss the ink.
"Angel?" Draco asked, casting the elder vampire a wide-eyed glance.
The vampire nodded. "It was my idea. After everything you've done for this Order ... there's no one better suited."
"Th-thank you."
"Now, this may sting a bit at first, but only for a moment," Spike said as he settled himself beside the boy. "Come here." He gathered Draco in his arms until they were snuggled quite comfortably together. He nuzzled Draco's neck, causing his breath to hitch. "Don't be afraid," Spike whispered.
"Not afraid," Draco whispered back. "I'm just very ... sensitive right ... yeah, right there." He swallowed hard and tried to control himself.
Spike's throaty chuckled rumbled through his head. "Later, luv. I can promise you that." He then licked his chosen spot, and before Draco could recover from the shiver it sent through him, he struck.
Draco gasped and instinctively tried to pull away. But, Spike was wrapped around him so securely he wouldn't have been able to move, even if he hadn't been mostly paralyzed. He could also tell Angel was ready to hold him down if need be. He squeezed his eyes shut and forced his breaths to even out. He's had his neck sucked on before (it was one of Blaise's favorite things), but it never felt like this. He could feel his life seeping out of him, pouring into Spike. As the seconds passed, the pain of the bite faded, and a burning pleasure replaced it. A moan escaped him before he could stop it, even as he became dizzy from the blood loss.
Spike pulled away suddenly, causing Draco to whimper with the loss of the sensation. He drew a fang across his own wrist, then brought the gash to Draco's mouth. "Drink, Dray."
Draco obeyed. The taste was ... less than pleasant , but he drank nonetheless. He forced himself to swallow the viscous liquid, reminding himself that this would transform him, that this was what he wanted. He felt Spike press closer to him, and was that a moan he heard? He didn't have time to figure it out as Spike began to speak.
"I will give of my lifeblood to raise you as Childe. I will give of my body to raise you in love. {gasp!} I will give of my wisdom to raise you as a Noble and prepare you as Heir. All the favors of my Order I do bequeath unto you as my Childe. {groan} I will give of my lifeblood to guard you from harm. {oh, damn} I will give of my body in willing sacrifice to spare you pain. I will give of my wisdom that we may grow in this joining in all ways, for all of our days. This is my truth; this is my vow to you, Draco, my pet. I will follow no path that takes me from you." After a few more moments of panting and whimpering and grinding, he took his wrist away from Draco. He then bent down and kissed Draco full on the lips. He pulled away with a startled gasp when he felt Angel laving the wound on his wrist with his tongue.
"Finish it, Will," Angel ordered. "Now."
Spike nodded and quickly reattached himself to Draco's neck. It was all so unbearable to Draco. It was clear that Spike was aroused, and there wasn't a damn thing Draco could do about it. Not only was he paralyzed, but he was growing weaker and weaker by the moment. He knew it wouldn't be long before he was gone completely. As the darkness started to overtake him, he promised to make it up to Spike ... his Sire.
"Peaches, this isn't right."
"You need it."
"No, I don't. Really. Stop."
Angel looked up at him in shock. He had been working on Spike's fly in an attempt to help relieve his Mate of his current frustration. However, the commanding tone in Spike's voice made him stop immediately. He was a bit confused, as Spike had never refused him before. It wasn't that he was offended (this wasn't the first time he had faced rejection in his life), it was just that it wasn't like Spike to refuse.
Spike's expression was soft as he traced a finger down Angel's cheek. "I love you, and you know it. But right now ... it just doesn't feel right. It would ... tarnish Draco's Turning, I think."
After a moment's thought, Angel nodded in agreement. "Can you move him a bit then, so I can lay next to you?"
Spike nodded and gently moved Draco farther onto the bed, then snuggled close to him again. Angel then wrapped himself around the smaller vampire, chest-to-back. "You okay?" he asked softly.
Spike took a deep, albeit unneeded, breath. "I ... guess. I really wish it didn't have to be like this."
"I know, me too. He should have had more of a choice."
Spike nodded. "Do you think he really will be happy? I mean, I know he said this is what he wanted, but ..."
"It will take some adjusting, for everyone. He's going to wake up with a lot of powers he never had before, and then there's our liquid diet ..."
"Yeah. I think he can handle it, though. We'll be there for him."
"We most certainly will." He hugged Spike tightly and kissed the back of his neck. "We really should figure out what we're going to do about ..."
"I say screw propriety. He won't be mortal anymore, so he doesn't need to play by their rules. As his Sire, I have the right ..."
"Only if he consents."
Angel could sense his Mate roll his eyes. "He will definitely consent."
Angel allowed himself to envision the two Malfoys together. An almost predatory smile crept across his face as he purred, "Can I watch?"
Spike let out a bark of laughter. "Sure. Hell, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you joined in."
Angel swallowed hard and tried to fight the arousal that was creeping through him at the thought. Instead, he said, "That brings another thing to mind. You've heard of double-Siring, right?"
"Yeah, but was that ever even real?"
"I dunno, but, we could try. I'd be like ... an adopted father, or a step-Sire, or ... something."
"But you'd exchange blood, right? Enough to really make a bond?"
"Yeah, I would like to."
"I'd like that," Spike whispered. "He needs ... parents. Granted, we'll be more than unorthodox, but still. He needs stability."
"Don't worry, Will. We'll make sure he gets everything he needs."
Spike just nodded. Angel could tell his Mate was tired and only a few moments away from sleep. He kissed the blonde's temple and murmured that he was going to go downstairs and get the others caught up. At the bedroom door, he turned and looked at his Mate and his soon-to-be Childe. He couldn't help but smile, though he was still worried.
His worry grew as he made his way downstairs. He had never seen the living room so full before. He hadn't even made it all the way down the steps when everyone turned to him expectantly. The weight of their stares was just too much for him. He sat heavily on the steps, putting his head in hands. He heard a few sobs, most likely from Fred and Dawn.
"Is he ...?" Wesley couldn't finish.
After a moment, he nodded. "He is. But, he'll be awake in a few days."
There was a moment of confused silence before pandemonium erupted.
"Angel, you can't tell me you ..." Wesley shouted.
"How could you?!" Giles demanded.
"How could he what?" Pomfrey asked. She then turned to Angel. "What did you do to that boy?!"
The only one not flying into a panic was Harmony. She approached the stairs, and before squeezing in to sit next to her boss, she turned to the group and yelled, "Would you people calm down?! Can't you see how hurt he is?!" She draped an arm over his shoulder and asked, "You okay?"
"I don't know, Harm. I'm happy that he'll be a part of our family, but ... he was supposed to have more of a choice."
"I know," she murmured, stroking the hair on the back of his head. "But, it was the only way, really."
"Angel, you can't possibly think that this was the best course of action," Wesley said.
Finally, Angel stood up. "No, Wes. It was the only course of action. He woke up, we discussed it, he gave us the go ahead."
"But ..."
"Wes, you were there when I discussed some of the laws of my Order. We will be Siring new Childer, but not by force. And we'll be very selective. Draco will only be an asset, and it was his decision. Yes, I wish he'd had more options, but he didn't. We did what we had to. You didn't see what happened when Draco went running off, how psychotic Spike got. If we lose him ..."
"The bond is that strong?" Giles asked. His tone was mild, and Angel was thankful for it.
"Yes. Don't ask me how, because we don't know. It just is."
"I'm not entirely happy with the situation," Giles said. "I, too, wish there had been more options. But in light of the current situation, I do believe you did what's best."
"Rupert," Snape said, "I am not entirely sure I agree."
"Whether you do or not," Angel snapped, "it's done. We can't take it back. And quite frankly, I wouldn't want to."
"It's not that I don't trust you and your Mate or that I think Draco will turn suddenly evil," Snape assured. "It's just that, this will bring unnumbered hardships on the boy. It's obvious this must be kept secret. Just think of what that will do to him."
"I know," Angel said sadly. "All we can do is support him as much as we can. I swear, I will do whatever I can to make this transition as smooth as possible, and so will his Sire."
"Wait, you didn't Turn him?" Faith asked.
Angel shook his head. "Spike and Draco were already related by blood. We didn't really discuss it, but it was just unspoken that he should be the one."
"That makes sense," Harmony said, still sitting on the stairs.
"I believe you," Snape said with a sigh. "And it's not you, at all. I ... I made a promise to watch over him. And apparently, I've failed. If I had only been here, even if it was just to stay here at the house with him ..."
"Actually ..." Harmony said timidly, rising to her feet. "I don't know about anyone else, but ... I've been feeling a little off since we got home. I don't know, it may just be nerves, but, I really think something is wrong."
Angel stopped and tried to clear his mind. He had been so preoccupied with Draco that he hadn't registered the not-right feeling. But it was there now, loud and clear. He nodded and said, "Harm's right. Something is very wrong." He suddenly felt as if something was encroaching on him, pushing at his defenses. "Search the house, now. The yard, too. Something is here, and we need to find it."
Without questioning, the others started searching the whole of the house, trying to find even the tiniest detail out of place. After about a half hour, Dawn came running in from the yard, carrying what looked like a pointed black twig. "You guys! I was looking around the yard, and one of those symbol things had a piece missing, it looked like. It didn't look like the others. And I found this." She proffered the twig to Angel.
Fred gasped as she saw it and grabbed it out of Angel's hand. "This is exactly like the hairs from those spiders' legs!"
"Are you sure?" Angel pressed. He did not like what this implicated.
"Yes, we brought one in whole, and dissected it. This is one of their hairs."
"Which means at least one of them was here last night," Xander said.
"Which means this was a set-up," Faith concluded. "Even if Draco stayed home, he would have been attacked. And since no one would have been here ..."
Snape picked up her line of thought. "He would have died, with no hope of salvation."
"Dawn, show me the altered symbol," Angel ordered, and followed the girl outside.
"Here, see? Just a little bit it gone ..."
"But it's enough to disrupt the flow of the spell. Shit!" he boomed.
Giles knelt down to inspect the sigil. After a moment's study, he frowned deeply. "This was wiped away by magick. Wizarding magick."
"What?!" Snape exclaimed as he dove to the ground himself. "He's right." He then turned to Angel, his outright fear clearly evident in his eyes. "Draco is no longer safe here. Even if you fix the sigil, someone knows where he is. Even if he will be virtually unkillable ..."
Angel rubbed his face with both hands. His mind was racing, and he just couldn't focus. Luckily for him, his assistant came to his rescue.
"What about your hotel? You still own it."
Angel thought about that for a moment. "Yeah, but Wolfram & Hart already know about that place."
"We could help ward it," Giles offered. "I'm sure if we put up sigils like these, then cast several shielding and protection spells ..."
"Some good ol' fashioned alarm systems ..." Gunn offered.
"Alright," Angel finally said. "We're moving. I need a team of you to go and get it set up. Sigils, spells, whatever. The rest will stay and start getting things packed."
"What about whoever did this?" Andrew asked, gesturing to the symbol.
"I have no clue. I don't think it was any of you, so don't worry."
"Maybe when we were out shopping, they were out looking and saw him and followed us home," Dawn offered.
Angel could see her guilt and regret swirling through her aura, as she had been with Draco during that outing. No doubt she was internally flogging herself for not being more aware. "That is possible, Dawn. Or, it could have been when he ran out. Either way, someone knows where he is. Even if he's a vampire, we can't risk anything happening to him, or to any of you. You are our family. We won't risk any of you if we can help it."
"Then let's get this done," Xander said. "Let me get my tools, and I'll start dismantling stuff." With that, he turned and headed to the garage where Giles' car now resided.
As the others went inside to divide themselves up and assign themselves tasks, Angel looked up to the blue sky. "Doyle, Cordy, anyone? If you have any plans or advice or anything, I could use it." He waited, but no answer came. He turned and joined the others inside.
He did not notice the bright plumage of the phoenix sitting in the shady branches of the one tree that shadowed the backyard. Nor did he see the angry glitter in the bird's eyes.
With so many people working, it only took two days to move everything from the house to the hotel. Sigils adorned every wall, and then were painted over to hide them, including the ones on the walls of both courtyards and in the one-story parking garage. Several concealing and protection spells -- some of the Wizarding variety and some not -- were cast. It was decided that Angel Investigations would be reinstated, even while Fred, Wesley, Gunn, Lorne, and Harmony continued to work at Wolfram & Hart.
Angel, Spike, Draco (wrapped in a blanket and still unconscious), and Harmony moved into the four-bedroom penthouse on the west side roof. Spike, of course, snuggled up to Draco once he was safely set down on Spike and Angel's bed in the largest of the bedrooms. Angel, on the other hand, had something very important he needed to do. On the second evening, he knocked on Harmony's already-open door, and waited for her to turn around.
"Angel!" she said happily. "Excuse the mess. Still arranging things." She cleared off her bed and motioned for him to come in. "What's up?"
Angel calmed himself and organized his thoughts as he sat down. His nerves were beyond frazzled at the moment, and had been ever since Draco had been attacked. After a few moments, he said, "Ever since Will and I landed at Hogwarts, you have been invaluable. We've all seen a side of you we never knew existed. I have to say, I'm proud." He paused while she murmured an embarrassed thanks. "It's because of this that I think that you really would make a great addition to our family. And now, with these rituals that Draco's created ..." Harmony looked at him, wide-eyed. He could sense her hope and joy radiating from her, and he chuckled. "Harmony Kendall," he said quietly, "would you do me the honor of allowing me to re-Sire you?"
She only took a moment to squeal in delight before launching herself at Angel, effectively knocking them both to the floor.
"I'll take that as a yes," Angel said, laughing.
"You better!" she cried. She lifted herself back onto her bed, and asked, "What do I have to do."
"Well, first you have to be purified," he answered, rising as well. "It's a bath, and I would ... um ... have to ..."
"B-bathe me?"
If Angel could have blushed, he would have. "Yes," he said quietly.
Harmony swallowed hard and took a deep breath. She then nodded and said, "Okay. If that's what has to be done, then we'll do it. I ... I trust you."
That made him smile, but it faltered soon after. "Then there's the ointment. I would have to apply it ... everywhere."
She nearly eeped at the thought, but again agreed to it.
"After that, all you'd have to do is recite the Oath, receive the Mark, and then we'd exchange blood."
She thought for a few moments, then nodded again. "Really does sound simple."
"It is. I know you understand all our Laws and codes, so I don't have to worry about that. And you already know about being a vampire, so I won't have to explain that, either. Really simple."
"Would we do it ... now?"
Angel shrugged. "I have nothing else planned."
Harmony smirked. "And since Spike is all curled up with Dray, you're not getting any."
He groaned and fell backwards onto her bed. "Don't remind me." He covered his face with his hands and pretended to sob.
She laughed loudly, but then sobered. "Would we ... I mean, you'll be my Sire and all, and ..."
He smiled gently at her as he sat up. "Only if you want to." He again brushed that one stubborn lock of hair out of her eyes. "I can say I wouldn't say no."
Her eyes grew wider than he had ever seen them. "B-but, what about Spike?"
Another gentle smile. "He understands. Besides, and I mean no offense to you, no one would ever be able to come between me and Will. He has a very special place in my heart that no one will ever be able to take over. Just as Dray does. Just as you will."
Harmony smiled, and she looked as though she was going to cry. "Well then," she said, wiping a solitary tear away, "it's a damn good thing I cleaned the bathroom today, huh?"
Harmony watched as Angel swirled the herbs into the hot water. I'm fine, I can do this. This isn't sexual or anything. I'm not interested in that ... am I? No, I'm ... well, maybe a little. He is gorgeous, like my blondie-bear. And ... but ... ack! She started pacing in the large bathroom, trying to calm herself. I'm fine, I can do this ...
"Harm?" Angel's soft voice startled her, and she almost fell over. She didn't remember his voice being so ... velvety. When she turned to him, she froze. She also didn't remember his eyes being so warm. What the hell was happening to her?
"M'okay," she mumbled. She hugged herself and took a deep breath.
He quirked an eyebrow at her. "I know what's going on. I can sense these things, you know. Why all of a sudden?"
She blinked a few times, surprised by the question, and the fact that he knew she hadn't exactly lusted after him until recently. Oh, dear Lord, she lusted after him?! Help!
His amused expression turned to one of concern as he stood and crossed the room to her. "Harmony, it's okay." He gently placed his hands on his shoulders. "I'm not expecting anything of you, at all. I just want you to be happy, whatever that entails."
His words echoed all the way through to her demon and warmed her. No one had every treated her like this. No one, not even Spike (before he got his soul), had cared about her happiness. She smiled at him and nodded. But the tears (that had never truly left from earlier) still threatened to fall. Finally she couldn't hold it in anymore, and flung her arms around his waist. She buried her face into his chest and cried.
He wrapped her in a tight embrace and waited quietly for her to calm down again. Finally, when she pulled back slightly, he softly asked, "Ready?"
With a deep breath, she nodded and said, "Yes."
He pinned her gaze to his own, and as he whispered, "Take off your clothes," his voice sent electric shocks all throughout her body and made the small hairs on the back of her neck and arms stand on end. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she had sex with him only once. Yeah, once.
A few moments passed, and she still didn't move from the warmth of his arms. "You're still dressed," he murmured.
"Finding it hard to move. 'Specially with you still holding on to me and all." She nuzzled into his shirt and sighed.
He grinned brightly. "Yes, well, you're not helping. I mean, you keep snuggling ..."
"But, you're so snuggly!" she protested with a giggle. Yes, once would be nice.
A few more moments passed before Angel said, "You've calmed. You made a decision."
She looked up at him coyly. "Mmmmaybe."
"So ...? What did you decide?"
"It's a surprise." She knew full well that that statement pretty much gave it away, but she didn't care.
"Oooh," he cooed. "I like surprises."
"Yeah, I pegged you for that type."
He let out a burst of laughter. He then bent down and gave her a brief kiss, startling her. "Well, then, let's get this done. I want my surprise." His grin was slightly lascivious as he slowly led her toward the tub. "Now, for the last time: take off your clothes," he commanded with a soft growl.
She smirked at him as she pulled out of his embrace. "Yes ... Sire."
TO MY REVIEWERS
TP: The Lily thing was COMPLETELY unplanned. That was kinda Aimee's fault, and once it started, it took on a life of its own. You'll see what I mean when they get back to school.
Lanna: Wow. Better be careful, don't want my ego to get TOO inflated ... cuz then Aimee would have to pop it, and I imagine that would hurt ... immensely. Once at school, Draco will hook up with ... someone. And he'll get along with ... people. His parents will be ... dealt with. The Godparent Situation will all be revealed ... when I feel like it. And ... he'll get a pet. BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHackcough. Ahem.
YaoiBoyDaisuke: Oh, yes, Vamp!Draco. Oh, the possibilities of innuendo and double entendres is astounding!
ShadowWren: You know, it was those cringe-worthy crossovers that started this. That, and my love of all things Buffy. I read a few, cringed, and thought, "I could to SO much better." Glad I'm proving myself right ... cuz that would so suck if I didn't. As for Angel seeming OOC ... well, now that his soul is permanent, he doesn't NEED to be so mopey anymore. Besides, with Spike around, do you honestly think he COULD be. (I couldn't.) I do promise that he will get ... defluffed ... eventually. After all, HE'S still adjusting to his new state of being. Those who were in the garden are all characters I loved. And, once Aimee convinced me, I realized that Lily REALLY needed to be there. And, oh, if only I COULD make money off of this ...
LissaRiddle: Look, Aimee!! I really AM Eebbil!! HA! Tell THAT to everyone who says I don't have a mean bone in my body!!! I really am sorry for the delay in updating.
Silver1: I updated! :D Just to warn ya though, I AM known for cliffies.
