Draco woke up, not under the stars, not in his bed, and not in the infirmery. The roof over his head was wood, and there was herbs and oddities hanging from the ceiling. He blinked a few times, and heard hushed voices off somewhere where he couldn't see. He tried listening, but he was dizzy and his head was fuzzy, he wasn't quite sure why. He tried sitting up, but his arms failed him. There was a warm weight on his hand, he realised it was an giant hound. As his vision cleared, he realised whose hound it was and he couldn't move.Potter! What the devil were you thinking? Draco thought.
The voices stopped abruptly when the hound gave a howl. «'s he awake? There's a good boy Fang» Hagrid and Potter soon came into view. «You've woken up» Potter seemed relieved. «Impressive deductive skills, Potter», Draco spat. He felt vulnerable. «How do you feel,Malfoy?» Potter had that puppydog stare. He looked concerned. Draco got angry and he didn't even know why. «Well, I would have felt better if I was in my dorm, three days ago, and this whole thing wouldn't have happened, wouldn't I,Potter!» He could see Potter swallow, it must have stung. «Yeah,well I don't have a time-turner, do I, Malfoy, so you'll just have to be responsible for your choices for once.» A darkness crept in between them as silence fell. «Well, I reckon you need some pepperupper potion unless you wan' me to go get Madam Pomfrey.» It wasn't a question, not really, but Draco felt compelled to answer. The giant man understood more than he gave him credit for. «Potion», Draco almost whispered. «Thanks.» Hagrid nodded,and went to his cupboard. Potter grabbed Draco by the shoulders, and sat him up, probably with a bit more force than necessary. Draco flinched involuntarily. He noticed Potter shrink back a bit. The gamekeeper brought him the potion. He swallowed it, and felt better in a short while. The silence was only interrupted by Fang's breathing, and the clinks of tea cups. «Hagrid,thank you for letting us in.» Potter spoke. It seemed like a son talking to his father. «'s allright. 'course I'd let you in,Harry.» Draco noticed the bond between them, family, if he'd ever seen it. Family didn't have to mean blood ties. A lump grew in his chest. He didn't want to let them see him vulnerable. «I think I have to get back.Thank you,..for the help.» As he sat further up in the bed, and placed his feet on the floor, Potter said gently; «Go back to where, Malfoy?»
