The next morning Draco woke first and took a moment to watch Ron. His arm had been thrown over Draco’s chest and the blonde stroked the limb while he listened to his even breathing. His face was relaxed and Draco could practically count every pale eyelash.
His lips were an invitation he just couldn’t refuse and he placed a kiss that was barely air. Ron didn’t move. Draco smiled and pushed the sheet past his chest. The air hit him and Ron shifted onto his back. Draco pushed the sheet completely off him, looking at his bare body.
He had fallen in love with Ron’s body the moment he saw it, covered in water. The strength of his muscles were clearly outlined and Draco traced several groups with his finger. When he got to Ron’s cock he saw the evident morning hardness. He looked closer, taking in the veins and ridges, the satiny looking skin.
He liked how Ron kept himself groomed. He licked his lips, moving closer to inhale his scent.
“Hey, now what are you doing?” Draco lifted up and looked down at Ron.
“I thought I might wake you up.” He said with a smile, then dropped his chest down on Ron’s and kissed him.
“As much as I’d love that one day, I don’t want you to split that lip open again.” He said. He sat up and took his lover in his arms. “When you are completely healed, we’ll play in every room in this flat.”
Draco smiled brightly and went to make breakfast while Ron showered. He had eggs, bacon, and muffins waiting when he was done. While they ate, Ron said he was going to his parent’s house to get the rest of his things, and he wanted Draco to go with him.
He hurried through his own shower, taking care with his face, and got dressed while Ron cleaned up the dishes. He would have liked to get his own things as well but he knew he would have to wait until he heard from his mother. Maybe his mother would send them to him.
He was ready in no time and soon they were leaving through the floo to the Burrow. Arthur was in the front room reading the paper, and looked up in surprise. “Ron, how are you son?”
“I’m good dad.” He said hugging his father.
“Draco,” he shook his hand, “how’s the face?”
“Much better,” he said, “I was able to sleep well.”
“Good. Do you think you need more?” He asked, taking a good look at the worst of the bruises.
“No, there is no more pain.” He said, smiling to the older man, who was smiling back.
“Ron!” Draco watched as a thick woman who had come forward to take Ron in a smothering hug. He stayed where he was as she ran her fingers through his hair and kissed his cheek about six times.
She looked at Draco and her smile vanished. The look she gave him reminded him of his mother’s face whenever he scrapped a knee or fell off his broom. It touched him. “Mrs. Weasley.” He greeted.
She looked behind him and Draco knew that her husband was giving her a gesture, but he couldn’t see what it was. She forced a smile and faced him. “Well, Draco, welcome. Have either of you had breakfast?” She asked, doing what she did best, feeding people.
“We ate before we came over here. I wanted to get the rest of my things while I have some leisure time.” He said.
“When do you start?” Arthur asked him.
“In two more days.” Ron answered. “I got the confirmation owl yesterday with my company badges and information.”
“Good.” Arthur said. “Do you need help up there?”
“I brought help.” He said pointing to a grinning Draco.
Ron took Draco up to his room, and removed a trunk he had hooked onto his belt. He resized it and looked at Draco who was taking in the room.
“How did you not go blind in all of this?” He asked, gesturing to the literal wallpaper of Cannons pictures magazines papers that covered the wall.
“Funny.” He said and began taking mementos off his dresser and emptying out the rest of his closet.
Draco carefully removed the posters and pictures, stacking them neatly. “You aren’t going to cover the bedroom in these are you?”
“You mean you don’t like the idea?” He asked sarcastically then shut the now empty closet door. The look Draco gave him made him chuckle. “Well, don’t expect me to chuck them all.”
“No, I don’t expect that. I’ll do something with them all.” He charmed them and placed them at the very bottom of the trunk where they would remain flat.
When the room was emptied of everything Ron possessed, they went downstairs with the trunk floating behind them. Molly came out levitating several dishes. “I made you two a few things. Just keep them in the cooler and you can heat them in the oven in no time.”
Arthur shook his head. Molly cooked enough to feed them for at least four or five days. She would send them food every day like take away if they asked for it.
They came through the floo back to their flat, and the trunk and stacks of covered dishes followed. “Does she think that two men can’t cook for themselves?” Draco asked taking a stack of dishes to the cooler. Ron grabbed the other stack and followed.
“She knows I don’t like to cook, even if I can. Maybe she thinks you’re the same way.” They put the dishes in the cooler and Ron leaned against the counter as Draco arranged them neatly.
“Well, I have no problem cooking, I actually enjoy it.” Draco, satisfied with the cooler, closed it and looked at Ron.
“I was going to ask about that,” Ron said, “I can’t imagine Lucius Malfoy would have considered it acceptable behavior, so who taught you how to cook. Breakfast this morning was delicious.”
“I could tell, by the way you wolfed it down.” Draco said. “I would sneak into the kitchen and watch the house elf cook.”
“Not bad.” He said. “I’m decent but that was great.”
“Good.” He moved to stand in front of Ron and gave him a kiss. He was still gentle because he didn’t want to re-split his lip and it melted Draco’s knees. To be cared about and treated with concern was a gesture that he appreciated.

They looked to a window, and saw an owl perched on the sil. “An owl this time of the day?” Ron asked, letting go of Draco and opening the window.
Draco suddenly recognized the bird. “That’s Mercury, mother’s owl.” Ron let the bird in and it flew directly to Draco’s waiting arm. “Here Ron, feed him something.”
Ron took the bird feeding him some of the bacon they had leftover from breakfast, while he watched Draco read.
‘My darling son, I would have liked your venturing from home to have been better then it was, but there is no controlling your father sometimes. Sometimes, that is. I, however, have no problem getting what I want from him when I want it.
I know you aren’t worried about my abilities, as you left home with no concerns and you were right to do so. I spoke with your father at length and you can feel safe in the fact that he will not try and make things difficult for you. While I cannot make him accept your life, I can make him stay out of it, which I have a feeling you will be grateful for.
Tomorrow I told your father that you would be picking up the rest of your belongings. He did try to convince me otherwise but I would not be swayed. I will expect you anytime from 11 until 2 in the afternoon. I told him to be away from the Manor at that time.
Do not worry about me, I know how to deal with the man, as you had witnessed. I look forward to see you. Your loving mother.’
Draco looked up and at Ron. “Good news?”
“In a way.” He said. “Mother convinced father to stay out of my life.”
“How did she manage that?” Ron asked shocked.
“She knew about his other women, so most likely she knew of other dirt as well.” He dug into his schoolbag, it was hanging off a nearby chair, and fished out a quill. “She wants me to pick up the rest of my things tomorrow.” He scribbled out a reply and sent the owl off again. “You will come with me won’t you?” He asked.
“Of course I will.” He said.
The two men unpacked Ron’s things and then went to bed. Draco was worried about tomorrow, even though his mother assured him otherwise, he was a bit anxious that his father would be there.
