The laughter at the Zambini Estate was a welcomed change from the mood that had permeated since the end of the war. For the first time in years the four young wizards felt some sense of childhood. Ducking and weaving, creating obstacle courses and improvised practice routines. After some time the group stopped for a break.

Food and drinks had appeared via house elves causing Harry to smile. Ron got his drift and chuckled. The two Slytherinns looked at each other and Harry explained “Oh, every time we see house elves it reminds of Hermione…that’s all” Ron shook his head “ I don’t get that, if you can afford it, why not?”

Harry his hands up “Hey, you’re preaching to the choir.” Draco smirked. How’d did that house elf get his room so spotless? Draco filed it away. That was a conversation for another time. “I heard that” Blaise frowned “I thought she was rich, I mean wouldn’t she have servants?” Harry and Ron went quiet. Then surprisingly four owls arrived.

Dear Seniors, please excuse the tardiness of this letter. Try outs for the quidditch teams will be held Saturday morning at 9am. Due to the nature of the mini term the first quidditch game will take place the following Friday. Should there not be enough numbers to fill four teams we will combine houses and form two.

Harry’s eyes lit up “Imagine that, combined teams…” All four boys talked about who they would want to play with. Cho rated a couple of mentions. Yet they did not name each other even though all had come along way, none of them was prepared to voice that much respect for each other.

Another owl arrived and Draco raised an eyebrow as it was instantly recognizable. Blaise smiled “Looks like you’ve got owl privileges restored mate” Draco nodded “it would seem so” He read the note and momentarily frowned. Blaise saw what was written and his confusion was obvious. Now it was Ron and Harry’s turn to feel left out. It read

Son, do not return until after HogWarts.

Love Father

“Love?” Blaise enquired. Draco could see that it had been written in an unsteady hand. He smiled sadly “Well I'm gonna make a move. Thanks Blaise” Blaise stood up quickly. “But where you gonna stay?” Harry and Ron also got to their feet . Draco chuckled “You’re not going to believe this. Granger’s place” Blaise felt he’s eyes widen in surprise, and Draco put a hand on his friend’s shoulder. “As much as I’d love to keep you going. I’d better level. She’s at HogWarts” Blaise smiled and resumed his usual demeanor.

As the four went back to the chalet to floo Blaise chuckled “I was going to say you’re pretty pedantic about sharing your bed” Draco smirked at the reference to Parkinson “Well Blaise I can share a bed just not mine…” he looked sheepish and Blaise had only seen that look a couple of times.Harry and Ron kept quiet they knew this was a very rare insight.

“I was thirteen and well you know how mother and father are together?” Blaise nodded “they’ve got it bad” Draco nodded “I asked mum how she knew when it was love.” Blaise nodded “I think that’s a stock standard question” Draco chuckled “Well she said something like it being the air in your lungs, wind in the air…”

He smiled at Blaise’s reaction “Wow that’s pretty intense” Draco agreed “but at the time I didn’t understand. So…” by this time they had made it to the entrance of the chalet. “I go up to my room and I sit on my bed…” Blaise chuckled “You didn’t” Draco nodded and became sheepish “Sure did. Now only the one can share it with me” Blaise was laughing and Draco smiled “Yep threw Parkinson clean into the wall” Now Blaise doubled over. Both Harry and Ron who had remained surprisingly quiet couldn’t help but join in.

He had been in denial then, but now he knew Hermione was the one. His bed had welcomed her. The estate had been right he just needed patience. He looked at the others as they were started to regain composure and smiled. “Something you could do with Potter?” Harry nodded and Ron had tears streaming down his face and Harry couldn’t help but see the funny side.

Harry and Ron where the first to leave, thanking their host for the invite. They really had enjoyed themselves “It was great just to fly” Ron had said as they left and both Blaise and Draco had to agree. “You know it’s becoming an epidemic”

“What’s that?” Blaise asked

“Weasels’ being right” Draco answered and they both laughed. Draco looked thoughtful “You know how we got owl …” Blaise nodded he understood “Gotch ya, we’ll do it the muggle way” Draco nodded and with a quick “See you tomorrow” He floo’d to Crabbe’s.
