Thankfully the three days passed by fast, and the two Hogwarts’ students found themselves on a train. Plympton surprised Hermione and nearly permanently silenced Draco with his last action at the train station.
Reaching into his robes Plympton pulled out a small bag. “This is from Snape and a little from myself.”
Draco took the sack from the older wizard and looked inside. A neat little wad of euros stared back at Draco and Hermione.
“This will have to last you while you are with Miss Granger,” narrowing his eyes his voice grew much more serious than usual, “remember boy don’t touch your money, contact anyone by any method of magic, and most importantly do not do anything magical. Don’t even use Legilimency. Nothing at all. That’s if you want Miss Granger’s family to be visited by your father and his cronies.”
All the air from her lungs just disappeared. She didn’t even notice Draco pushing her onto a bench.
“I do not say these things to scare you but to warn you of the possible dangers. Goodbye you two and good luck.” Before Hermione could regain her breath Plympton had disappeared into the crowd.
After finding their cabin Hermione sat down on one of the couches with a sigh. Draco knew she was still worried about what that asshole said.
“As long as we don’t perform any magic your family will be safe, hell our so called training taught us how to basically go without magic for months,” Sitting in front of her he looked into her eyes. “So don’t worry. My bastard father won’t get near you or your family.”
Just like he wanted it, her trusting smile spreading across her lips and her brightened eyes as she replied, “You're right I am just worrying.”
~*~
Settling in their small cabin in the train it didn’t take long for Hermione to fall asleep with the gentle vibrations of the locomotive and the passing scenery.
After making sure she was in a deep sleep Draco left the cabin and headed to the car with a few more people. The bar.
Walking into the semi crowded bar his silver gaze passed appreciatively over the prospects.
After nearly three months at Hogwarts and another two under the influence of a time turner Draco waited as long as could physically stand it.
Taking a seat at the bar Draco ordered a glass of whiskey. Knowing he wasn't going to have to wait long he casually sipped the burning liquid.
“So are you here alone?” Confidence, arrogance, a well practiced tone of sultry. Turning his head to look over his shoulder Draco looked into the blue eyes of the blonde he eyed when he entered the car.
Short curly blond hair cut in an angle that told you she could easily afford her sophisticated life style. But if her haughty pouting lips and upturned nose didn't tell an onlooker that, her jewelry and expensive clothing would. Despite her obviously being a muggle Draco knew money when he saw it.
“Yes.” he grinned when her face lit up in flirtatious pleasure. Raking his eyes from top to bottom he assessed her situation. A little on the thin side but with fairly decent breast. She would do.
As she opened her mouth to speak he cut her off by standing up from his stool. At his full height now towered over her slight form.
Grabbing her wrist he tugged her forward, “Lets get to the point shall we.” his tone was low and filled with authority. “If you want what I know you want just nod and lead the way to your cabin. If not then there is no need to waste more time by saying anymore.”
She couldn't even begin to describe what his words just did to her. Doing her best to keep some semblance of control she nodded coolly and walked out of the bar car towards her private cabin.
Just as he expected when he walked in the cabin, first class.
Closing the door he turned to see her leaning against the bed provocatively. Thankfully he always carried a condom.
“Get undressed.” The demand didn't go unheeded but he didn't miss her pout.
With just a pair of black knickers and a matching bra she approached him. Grabbing his shirt he allowed her to pull it off. Slowly she trailed kisses all the way to the waist of his pants while her hands caressed the expanse of his chest.
With her practiced movements Draco found himself standing completely naked in front of the kneeling female.
Looking down at her he couldn't help but smirk as she stared wide-eyed at his length. Pushing his hips forward a bit he reminded her just what he was here for, eagerly she grasped his hot cock and put him in her equally hot mouth.
Groaning at the luxurious feeling Draco let himself become encompassed by the pleasure. Her hands expertly pumped his turgid member deep in to her pulsating throat, pulling him out every now and again to give his tightening sack a hard suck. On and on she continued to push and pull his swollen cock out of her practiced mouth as she simultaneously fondled his balls. With the familiar tightening of his body threatening to take hold, he grabbed the back of her hair and pulled her away.
Face flushed she looked up at him “what is it?”
Draco didn't have the luxury to waste anymore time, “Now its my turn.”
Hauling her to her feet Draco ripped off the remaining scraps of her underwear. Pushing her onto the bed Draco grabbed both of her legs and threw them over his shoulders while burying himself deeply into her wet hole.
His growls of satisfaction was drowned out by her sharp scream as he plowed into her body.
“Oh...oh...oh please…please.” All she could do was beg for more. Looking down between her wildly jiggling breast to her soaking wet cunt she watched as his hot engorged length plummeted repeatedly into her. But looking at his face is what sent her over the edge with a piercing scream. The white hair she found alluring was swinging wildly as he ravaged her while his once silver gaze turned slate gray.
Feeling herself being flipped over she felt him re-enter her sopping cunny from behind. With her face buried in the pillows while the white haired man held her ass she let her screams be muffled by the soft pillow she was holding onto.
Feeling it approach Draco grabbed her by her curly locks and spun her until she was on her knees before him. Grabbing her head he yanked off his condom and forced himself down her hot throat. The minute he felt the head it the back of her throat he exploded. Ignoring her struggle to swallow his load he watched her with her nose buried in his pubic hair massaging his sack for every last ounce of him just like Draco knew she would.
Letting her fall back onto the bed exhausted and drenched in sweat he decided to use her shower.
Minutes later Draco was buttoning his pants as he reached for the door.
“Hey wait don’t you even want to know my name.”
Running hand through his wet hair Draco turned back to her and gave her an icy stare.
“No. And furthermore I will not be seeing you again.” Stepping closer he lowered his voice to an even serious level, “However, if you do happen to see me on this train again I would highly advise you to ignore me.”
With that he was gone. Even if he was an asshole she had to admit that was the best fuck she ever received.
~*~*~
Carefully sliding open their cabin door Draco sighed in relief as he quietly took his seat across the still sleeping Gryffindor. Keeping his quick toss a secret wasn't really necessary, he just didn't want to see or hear her condescending reaction for his fling.
~*~*~
The next day they arrived in London, since Hermione lived a couple hours outside of town they rented a car.
With every mile that passed by outside of his passenger window Draco grew more on edge. All these years they have been enemies surely she would have mentioned him to her parents. So how the bloody hell was he supposed to convince her parents that they were past their hatred. He couldn't very well tell them that he was shacking up with their daughter for nearly two months even if it was school mandated. As far as the Grangers knew they were in Italy training and living under supervision, not alone together in a one-bedroom shack. Not sharing one bathroom, and sure as hell not giving the white haired Slytherin an unknowing burlesque shadow show every evening.
“Ok we are almost there,” taking her eyes off the road for a brief second she gave him a serious look thankfully pulling him out of his runaway thoughts. “There are a few things you should know first.”
Here it comes, Draco thought, the bookworm's family thinks he is some sort of serial killer. Then again, a thoughtful look crossed his face, his death toll has only been two so far and they were actually for the brown haired girl sitting to his left. So that should actually gain him some sort of favor, too bad there was no way he was going to bring up that sensitive subject.
“Ok here is the most important thing, my brother Daniel is a wizard though he is only nine he is...”
“Wait a moment, you have a brother?” Not once during his eavesdropping of the golden trio did he hear her mention she had a brother.
“Yes of course. Now listen carefully,” her tone grew serious, thus enrapturing his undivided attention. “My brother is a wizard, but he isn’t just an ordinary wizard. Daniel is an extremely powerful wizard, so powerful that under the Ministry’s orders Dumbledore had to place binding spells on him until he is ready.”
“Besides the fact that I am beginning to think your parents aren’t really muggles at all what has that got to do with us.”
Giving him a stern look Hermione focused on her story as she maneuvered the car through the light traffic. “What I am saying Draco Malfoy is that you are not to mention any of this to him, no matter what you may see.”
Rolling down the window Draco let in some of the cool air while he observed the muggle community. Draco’s response was out of his profound sense of nosy curiosity, “You mean he doesn’t even know. Why?”
Her sigh was audible as she answered, “The Ministry thinks that as for now it is the best decision, as does Dumbledore. But that’s beside the point what I am saying is this,” slowing down at a stop sign the Gryffindor turned her large pleading eyes to him. “Please no matter what you may see in my brother or no matter if you see the occasional odd thing happen just ignore it.”
Draco’s gray gaze held a hint of suspicion as he stared back. “What is he prone to fits or something?”
“No, no nothing like that its just if he gets mad or too excited something may break, float, change colors you know normal things but it rarely ever happens I just wanted you to be aware of that unspoken rule in our house.”
“Sure no problem, Malfoy’s are great at feigning denial.”
~*~
Four hours later Draco found himself standing alone in the Granger’s guest bedroom. Decorated in different shades of green Draco sat on the green quilt and smirked at the irony.
The welcome they received could only be described as interesting.
The moment the frizz ball walked through the front doors of the brick house she was surrounded by people. A woman no taller than Hermione hugged the Gryffindor with obvious delight, Draco could tell right away who this lady was. Diane Cynthia Granger the clone of Hermione, if the heart shaped face and brown eyes didn’t give it away it was the voluminous amount of curly brown hair hanging down around her shoulders. Draco couldn’t take his eyes off the woman it was uncanny.
The next person that hugged Hermione was probably the only muggle Draco would ever admit to fear. Broderick Duncan Granger, was as tall as Draco but had the ability to make Draco feel like a child. It was the unnaturally astute green orbs the man called eyes, even though they were shielded by round out of fashion glasses they did nothing to stop his austere gaze which was directed at the white haired Slytherin.
Thank the sweet heavens Hermione didn’t inherit that man’s eyes. Though Draco will admit Mr. Granger seemed to be the one, which the Gryffindor got her famous disapproving scowl, which was also conveniently directed towards Draco. With dark brown hair cut short and parted down the side, a swimmer’s build, a sweater vest and khakis Hermione Granger’s dad looked like a nerdy professor—who could kick your ass.
Thankfully the next person she hugged allowed him to take his eyes off her chilling father. The person she hugged next was almost as tall as Hermione and her mom, though that wasn’t saying much, this person was an exact replica of Hermione’s father. Though the kid was hugging his sister he kept his eyes trained on Draco’s the entire time. Daniel Brandon Granger learned the art of fierce staring from the master—his father. The hard green-eyed gaze told Draco at once that the kid did not like him whatsoever.
After hugging the kid Hermione stepped back and turned to him giving him a bright smile before turning back to her family. “I want all of you to meet Draco Malfoy,” without hesitation she began the introductions.
The initial kindness he saw in Diane Granger’s eyes proved to be a permanent feature because the moment Hermione introduced them she walked right up to him and gave him a hug. For half a second Draco didn’t know how to react, it was weird getting hugged by a stranger even weirder getting hugged by a woman with a hot body while her husband was staring at him with that same cold gaze.
A nod was all he received from the two male Granger’s but he wasn’t given time to worry about that because they were all hustled into the kitchen for dinner by Mrs. Granger.
Dinner wasn’t the inquisition he thought it was going to be, even though he had a hunch that was being saved for later. Hermione and her mother were masters at keeping the conversation flowing between everybody. Hermione talked to all of them as did her mother, the two male Grangers talked to Hermione, while Draco talked mostly to Mrs. Granger. She wanted to know everything about the training from him, forcing him to stay on his toes so he wouldn’t slip and say too much.
Finally after settling in Draco found himself alone in the green guest bedroom wondering if coming here was such a good idea.
The sound of the door opening cut off his thoughts; standing in the door was Hermione.
“I could have been naked you know.” Already knowing what her reaction would be.
Just as expected a deep blush settled on her now scowling face as she closed the door stepping deeper into the room.
Shyly she sat on the edge of his bed, “I just wanted to know if you needed anything?”
Crossing his arms over his chest the Slytherin leaned against the windowsill. Nonchalantly he replied, “Your mother came down just a few seconds ago to ask me that.”
“Oh…,” Hermione had no idea why she felt nervous, “well I guess that was it…I mean I will see you tomorrow then.” Quickly she got up and retreated for the door.
“Hermione.” His deep voice stopped her midway. Turning back to him she saw that he was no longer leaning against the window. Looking at his eyes she knew at that precise moment he was thinking along the same lines as she was. Immediately she rushed over to him and put her arms around his neck, she felt his arms tighten around her waist holding her tightly against him.
“Nothings going to change between us Draco I promise.” With her head against his chest she felt his exhale deeply.
“Trust me Princess I won’t let it change, I swear to Merlin I need this, I need normal people. I need happiness every now and then and damn it somewhere along the way I needed this friendship.”
Tightening her arms around him Hermione smiled, “I know, I want this just as much as you. Your friendship offers something that no one else’s’ ever could,” but what—it—exactly was she couldn’t quite label.
The moment they got to civilization, doubts about how well their friendship would last out of the safety of their cabin and village plagued their minds. But now in Draco’s arms Hermione knew that they would be ok, because he wanted it just as much as she did.
Finally Draco allowed the brown haired girl to slip from his grasp. Silently he watched her say goodnight and slip from his room as easily as she slipped in. Groaning Draco turned to press his face against the cool glass of the window, putting an arm up he braced his weight against the windowsill. Draco Malfoy was not looking forward to sleeping alone.
The thought of slipping into Hermione’s room to lie down next to her caused Draco to shudder at the next thought that immediately invaded his mind. Hermione’s father flaying him alive when he discovered his prim and proper daughter sprawled in her usual fashion on top of her white haired classmate.
Draco doubted if he would have enough time to convince the man that his daughter was a temptress in her sleep while simultaneously explaining he was just a poor unassuming man caught in her seductive trap.
Nope he was a hundred percent sure the man would not listen to that bit of sweet logic.
The knock at his door caused his whole body to go on alert. Draco knew even as he called out to let the visitor in that it wouldn’t be Hermione or the loving Mrs. Granger.
Standing in the open doorway was Mr. Granger, still dressed in his earlier attire and still with same dark astute look on his face.
“Before you go to bed I would like to speak with you in the living room for a moment if you don’t mind.”
Even though the statement gave a hint of an option, the man’s piercing eyes gave a direct command.
Nodding he followed the older man into the living room. The inquisition begins, he thought.
"Sit down please, I wanted to talk to you about this... situation."
Draco only nodded, at this point he just wanted to make it out of this alive.
"Since I am well aware of your less than shining history with my daughter I am fully aware that the amount of hate and distrust you both had for each other cannot simply just disappear in the time span of a week. No matter how powerful the Headmaster claims both of you to be. So please do me a favor and tell me the truth."
Giving the man a level gaze, Draco gave him an opportunity, " Are you sure don't want Hermione to tell you."
"I am asking you."
So much for trying. Well if these muggles could live with knowledge that their daughter risked her life on a yearly basis against a maniacal tyrant, he could most likely deal with this.
"Hermione and I have been living under the influence of a time turner for nearly two months on a island near Sardinia, Italy."
The dangerous spark that only Draco seemed aware of sparkled with dark curiosity.
"Go on."
"The rest you are aware of, we have just been training. Now the reason as to why Hermione and I get along is so new to me I can’t really describe it to myself.”
“Please try.” By this time Draco’s patience was wearing thin.
“Mr. Granger let me be frank,” the older man must have saw the Slytherin’s hardening gaze. Leaning towards the older man he lowered his voice. “I understand your dislike towards me but honestly sir I am not sure how to ease your fears. All I can say is that I need your daughter in my life and in a way I think she needs me. Hurting her is the last thing I want to do. I just want her around me.”
With just a nod in response the older man stood up and walked up the stairs.
~*~*~
Living with the Granger’s was more than just eye opening it was life altering to the concept of family life. With only two days past since he arrived Draco felt that he finally understood what he was missing from his childhood and what he honestly wanted for his future.
Sitting in the Granger’s living room Draco coolly realized that the entire expanse of the living room could have fit in at the Malfoy Manor’s formal salon nine times over. But her found this atmosphere to be so much more appealing.
Mr. Granger was the proverbial king of the household as he sat reading his muggle newspaper in his scholarly no-nonsense mahogany leather chair. Mrs. Granger on the other hand, sat demurely in her own soft looking chair, with her legs propped on an equally soft matching ottoman reading a giant dental reference book.
Hermione was sprawled across the sofa, he happened to be leaning on, behind him staring into a bright screen she called a laptop.
The living room hardly had any noise, just the sound of pages turning, newspaper crinkling, and the low murmur of the video game Daniel was teaching him to play. But Draco knew if he were to attempt to start a conversation he would not receive the icy glare of his father or his mother’s quizzical stare. No the conversation would not be an unwelcome disturbance like the continuous silence his father seemed to demand.
This is what families were supposed to do.
Even though the relationship between Mr. Granger, Daniel and himself wasn’t exactly comfortable Draco still found that this was extremely better than what he had going at home. Besides, Draco smirked to himself as he tried to master the video game, the two Granger males seemed to be slowly adjusting and if not—they would learn.
~~*~~
All Draco could do was stare. Mr. Granger left for work early that morning. Daniel was downstairs watching T.V., while Mrs. Granger was in the kitchen putting together a grocery list. That only left one Granger in particular causing him to be utterly transfixed.
Kneeling on the floor on her hands and knees with her wonderfully rounded arse in the air was Hermione Granger. She claimed she was cleaning out her closet but he could give no credit to that statement because his eyes were glued to her derriere.
Merlin knew he didn’t intentionally stare at her arse but Merlin’s pride, it was the first thing he saw when he came up to ask her what her plans were for the day. The muffled reply from the depths of her closet was nearly lost on him as he struggled for control.
Any second Mrs. Granger intended to leave the house with Daniel. So that meant he had a choice. Either stay in the house alone with Hermione and her wiggling arse or leave the house with the safety of Diane Granger.
~*
Diane was reaching for the door with her keys when she noticed someone taller than her son standing behind her, turning around she saw Draco standing beside Daniel.
“Oh, did you not want to stay here with Hermione?”
No matter how many times he looked at her Draco could not get over the uncanny similarity between Mrs. Granger and her daughter.
“If you don’t mind Mrs. Granger I would like to see a little more of your muggle culture,” not to mention try to resist your daughter’s unknowing enticements.
“Of course dear,” her smile was so big and warm it made Draco feel awkward. Maybe receiving so much kindness at once had side effects, Draco mused.
~
Draco could honestly admit that he had never experienced anything like the muggle supermarket. The idea of parking in a lot full of other cars was completely novel. Though Draco personally felt that it would be much more appropriate if people with better breeding and social status should have closer or reserved parking spots.
Walking through the doors Draco inwardly marveled at the sheer brilliance of these muggles. The magic-less inventions he has seen so far were very much resourceful and imaginative. Simply amazing. Giving the “automatic doors” one more glance, he continued into the store.
“I am so happy Hermione decided to take you shopping with her yesterday.” Diane Granger said happily, referring to his new muggle clothes.
The look on both Hermione and her brother’s face when they were at the mall was amusing. That morning when Hermione told Draco that he was going to need more casual clothes Draco was one step ahead.
During the drive from the train station he noticed that his clothes seemed very formal compared to the muggle pedestrians they were passing. Besides his slacks and dress shirts all he had were his robes, which was out of the question.
Using Hermione’s laptop with the curious help of Mr. Granger, Draco researched the current male fashions.
Draco nearly spent all the money Plympton gave him, but Draco felt the investment was sound. In his jeans, t-shirt, and his Italian leather oxfords Draco could logically say he looked damn good.
“Thank you Mrs. Granger I am happy with my selections.”
Further into the store Daniel turned to him, giving the kid speculative look Draco waited for the foreseeable question.
“You play quidditch?” giving Draco a questionable look, as if he could not possibly play the esteemed sport.
Not giving the kid the satisfaction of knowing his annoyance Draco answered matter-of-factly, “Yes.”
“What position do you play?”
“Seeker.” Draco knew where this was going. Turning his bored gaze back down to the kid he saw the emotions pass through his eyes like a slide-show. Shock, indignation, and the very worse, curiosity coated with evil.
“Harry Potter plays seeker.”
“I am aware of that.”
“Do you think you're better than Harry Potter?” By now the kid stopped in the middle of the aisle ignoring his mother who was looking at canned goods at the end of the aisle.
Stopping a little ahead of him Draco turned to look at the source of his growing irritation. Reminding himself that this was Hermione’s younger sibling and that his lovely mother was but a few feet away, Draco grasped tighter on his resolve.
“Kid I know I am better than that prat Harry Potter.”
As if he confirmed a long awaited suspicion the kid marched boldly toward him closing the gap.
“You're lying!” he said with the infernal Granger victory smile that was used only on people that dared to challenge the Granger greatness.
Rolling his eyes Draco responded, “Humor me and tell me why?”
“Because Hermione said that Harry was the best seeker at Hogwarts.
Control. Don’t strangle the kid. Control. Maybe if he said that couple more times it would work.
Smiling Draco considered his response. “Maybe you heard wrong.”
The indignation ran deep. “I did not! She said it!”
“Sure.” Nonchalantly he walked towards Mrs. Granger who was turning onto the next aisle.
“Mom! Mom!” running behind the brown haired women Daniel stopped beside her, cause her to slow down.
“Yes sweety.”
With reddening cheeks Daniel asked for his mother’s cell phone. Flipping it open the short brown haired boy anxiously dialed what Draco assumed was the house number. Putting the gadget to his ear he waited for a second until he heard his sister’s voice come through the device.
“Hermione?” Daniel all but yelled in pent up anxiousness.
A short pause. Draco assumed Hermione was responding.
“Did you or did you not tell me that Harry Potter was the best seeker at Hogwarts?”
A longer pause.
“Because Draco says he is the best, and I want to know if he is lying or not.”
“Daniel!” Overhearing her son’s remark Diane gave her son a serious glare. A glare that gave the younger Granger a sheepish look and nearly caused Draco to laugh.
“Sorry.” Daniel continued his conversation, “So? Is he or isn’t he Hermione?”
Longer pause.
The confused crestfallen look on his face told Draco with triumph that the boy’s glowing heroic image of Potter wasn’t so bright. Taking the phone from the boy he asked the Gryffindor himself.
“So Princess what did you tell him?”
At first there was a short silence but then he heard her reluctant sigh.
“I told him Harry is extremely good but you are very talented yourself judging by the games against our house.” This caused his smirk to turn into a full on grin, a grin that both Diane and Daniel noticed. Before he could give her a reply she continued in a firmer lordlier tone. “But let me remind you Draco Malfoy that I have never watched a Slytherin game against another house. So I honestly can’t say that you’re better than Harry just—close matched.”
Careful not to let his small audience see the intense irritation he felt show on his face, he replied, “Well Princess we shall have to fix that won’t we, remind me to give you a Slytherin match schedule.”
“What…I never said…I can’t cheer for the…”
“Got to go Princess we have lots of shopping to do.” Snapping the phone shut he politely gave it to Mrs. Granger. He turned towards Daniel. “Satisfied?”
“Hardly.”
~*
With their groceries paid for, the small group walked to their car. Reaching the car first Mrs. Granger unlocked the car while Daniel slowed the cart to a stop behind the car. Draco went to the other side of the car to start to put in the bags.
Turning away from the car door to grab a bag on the ground behind him Draco heard the sharp intake of breath. Slowly he looked up from his crouched position, on the other side of the car through the windows, to see Daniel and his mother frozen stiff, and the body of another person standing tremendously close to Mrs. Granger.
Slowly he made his way around the vehicle in the crouched position until he was partly behind the other person. From his new position Draco could see the unexplained person.
Standing with Diane’s neck in the crook of his arm while his other hand held a knife to her throat, a scraggly man in his early forties demanded her and Daniel not to move.
“Ok kid don’t make one fucking move or you're going to see your mum’s throat get slit wide open first hand, you go it?!” The deranged look in his eyes added to his threat.
Daniel frozen stiff with fear nodded quickly.
From his position and the position the man held Diane, Draco was unable to see her face but he could see her hands, which were clenched into tight fist.
“Please just take whatever you want, just let my son go please!” Draco could hear the thick fear in her voice.
Squeezing her neck tighter the man grew bolder. “Shut the hell up! I will…Aaahh what the hell!”
~
Daniel could barely process thoughts as he stood in front of his mother and the bastard that held her. He was so scared he could hardly move but he could feel his gut starting to churn. The familiar feeling was always associated with intense emotions; anger, fear, or excitement. But he could hardly concentrate on the feeling this time, all he could think about was his mum.
The feeling in his gut just started to escalate when the moisture in his mother’s eyes started to form, but his racing thoughts were sidetracked when the tall pale figure of Malfoy appeared behind the man like a shadow.
Standing at least a head taller than the man Malfoy approached the guy swiftly and quietly, Daniel could only watch in stunned silence.
Quicker than he had ever seen anyone move Daniel watched Malfoy reach around the man and grab both of his wrist and quickly and forcefully yanking them out and behind the man, un-caging his mom.
Quickly his mother stepped towards him and yanked him behind her and around the car. Together a safer distance away they watched the scene unfold.
~
Thankfully the vehicle they were parked next to was a tall vehicle, Daniel earlier called a van. Draco figured that this helped the man pick out his potential victims. But unfortunately for the man this made it even easier for Draco.
“What the hell?!!” the man screamed as Draco brought both of his arms swiftly behind the man’s back . Draco heard and felt the snapping of a bone as he yanked the arms upward behind the man, causing him to drop his knife. With one swift move he pushed the man to the ground pushing his face into the concrete, muffling his cries.
Calmly Draco leaned over to the guy’s ear. “If you make anymore noise I will take that knife you held at the lady’s throat and I will force it as far into your ass as humanly possible.” The man stilled instantly.
Looking up Draco gave the pale looking Diane a smirk. “Please finish putting the bags into the car and get inside I will join you in a second.”
“B…but…shouldn’t we call the police?” Daniel stuttered.
“I believe your police will have questions for me I could not answer.” Seeing their understanding they quickly put the bags into the car and got inside.
“What the hell you gonna do to me?” The fear in the man’s voice was thick.
Wordlessly Draco grabbed the man’s knife and hauled the man onto his feet while holding one arm painfully behind his back. Turning so both of their back’s were facing Mrs. Granger’s car Draco quickly put his hand over the man’s mouth.
“Brace yourself this is going to hurt.” Draco said with a smile.
With one quick motion Draco stuck the knife deeply into the man’s back inches away from his spinal cord.
Without turning back Draco nonchalantly opened the passenger door and got inside.
As Mrs. Granger quickly drove away, Draco reached into her purse and grabbed her phone and handed it to the kid behind him.
“Call your father.”
~*~
It took them a little longer to get home, due to Mrs. Granger’s rattled nerves, so he wasn’t surprised to see Mr. Granger waiting on the porch with Hermione. The man’s face seemed to age 10 years while Hermione looked scared and worried.
The entire trip back was nearly completely silent, only Mrs. Granger’s repeated expressions of gratitude towards Draco filled the car. Daniel stayed silent. The car was barely parked before Broderick ripped open the doors grabbing both his wife and son. Finally Mrs. Granger’s pent up tears came streaming out. Hermione rushed over to them as well. Ignoring the food they all made their way inside.
Draco felt a little out of place as he watched the family try to comfort one another. Broderick Granger immediately looked towards him for an explanation.
Calmly Draco told the story, leaving off the last bit.
The knowing look Broderick gave him told him the man knew there was more but kept silent about it, Draco expected he would want to know later.
“If it wasn’t for Draco I don’t know what…” Mrs. Granger’s tears started back up before she could finish. Hermione held both her mother and brother tighter.
Wordlessly Broderick stood and approached Draco.
Draco had no idea what to expect from the usually stoic man.
But a tight embrace would have never crossed his mind. Merlin knew his eyes were as wide as saucers as he stiffly accepted the foreign gesture.
Stepping back Broderick put a hand on the white haired Slytherin’s shoulder. “Thank you. You saved my wife and my boy today. God knows I can’t begin to thank you enough. I just want you to know that you are always welcome in my house.” Giving his shoulder one last squeeze the older man turned away.
Ushering his wife and son upstairs to their rooms Draco turned to see Hermione standing in front of him, her eyes were still wet from crying.
So many emotions were running through him, the feeling of anger and adrenaline still pumped through him from earlier, odd feelings of loneliness being swamped with unknown emotions that Broderick invoked, and the torment of emotions he always felt when he was with Hermione. The fire-like feeling of pent up magic in his stomach wasn’t helping either. God only knew how badly he wanted to melt that bastard’s brain from inside his skull.
A familiar cool hand on his cheek stopped his thoughts in their track as he looked down to see Hermione step closer.
“Your burning up.” A small knowing smile graced her lips as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “I know you must be hot with unreleased magic.”
Poetically he responded. “Yeah.”
When she looked back up at him, fresh tears were streaming down her cheeks.
Frowning he wiped them away, while giving her a questioning look.
“Oh Draco you saved my mom and baby brother. I can never thank you enough.” She buried her face into his t-shirt.
“I don’t want your undying gratitude, just…” Draco stopped abruptly at his next thought, not trusting his words.
Looking up to see his face Hermione was surprised to see him hesitate, Draco never hesitated. She wanted to ask “Just what?” but she refrained and hugged him tighter.
Happy that she didn’t press him Draco continued to hold her.
~**~
When Hermione came down stairs the next morning she had to bite back a laugh at the sight. Sitting next to her brother and her empty chair was Draco, with the largest stack of pancakes she has ever seen. Draco’s vigorous attack on her mom’s pancakes did nothing however to hinder the conversation he was having with her dad. A spectacle she would never have believed if she did not witness it with her own eyes.
Hermione was happy to see her dad finally talking to her guest, she wanted Draco to feel welcome by every member of her family. Grabbing a plate she joined them in their conversation.
~
With the end of the week swiftly approaching Hermione’s parents gathered her, Daniel, and Draco for some news.
Still on the floor with the game controllers still in their grips both Daniel and Draco looked away from their paused video game character’s to hear the news. Broderick sat on the edge of his chair while Diane Granger sat at the end of the couch.
Looking at everyone Broderick began. “Unfortunately your mother and I must attend a last minute regional meeting, on both you and Draco’s last day here.” Quickly he continued before anyone could interrupt. “But we will definitely be back in time to drop you off at the Leaky Cauldron the next morning.”
Seeing their nods Mrs. Granger finished the announcements. “Unfortunately though, we have learned the Matthews will not be able to host the team sleepover that was scheduled on that same day we will be out of town.”
The disappointed wail from Daniel cued Draco to look up at Hermione for answers.
“Oh umm Daniel is on a boy/girl Jr. football (soccer) team and they were scheduled to have a big team sleepover.” Making a gesture to her Brother’s stricken look she gave him a sympathetic smile as she continued to explain, “For whatever reason it seems to be the highlight of the whole season for them, like I said there is no clear reason why they love it so much.”
“Hey!” Daniel jumped up to give his sister a furious look before turning to the still seated Draco. “The party is the best! We eat pizza, drink all the pop we want, eat ice cream, play video games, watch scary movies, and then we work on our top secret plays for next season.” By now Daniel’s face was red while his eyes sparkled with intensity, then with a dramatic flop the boy sat back down on the floor. “I can’t believe we are going to break tradition and not have it!” he moaned.
Hermione rolled her eyes while she examined a nearby magazine.
“Well there was one other alternative to the situation.” Diane Granger gave her daughter a meaningful look while Broderick coughed back a forming grin. Draco realized simultaneously with Hermione at the meaning behind her mother’s words, though he could safely say his reaction was much more controlled.
“What! Oh no! I will not baby-sit a whole team of brats on my own.”
“You won’t be alone darling you will have Draco.”
The way she suggested him, as if he would solve all the problems, didn’t help his ego any.
“Thank you Mrs. Granger at least you didn’t forget about me.”
“Oh shut up!” The soft thud of her lion slipper against Draco’s head caused the still stricken Daniel to laugh momentarily
“Mom even if Draco is here there is no way to control twenty kids hopped-up on sugar and caffeine, not to mention the craziness that will ensue when they realize there are no parents around.” adamantly shaking her head, “No, no way!”
As expected Daniel started with his pleading, “Please Hermione! Please, please, please.”
“Well dear it is your choice, but do try and consider you brother’s feelings.” Diane said gently.
“Yeah well I’m sorry, but that little innocent face he has now,” pointing an accusing finger at the kid in question, “it will disappear the moment you both shut that door.”
“Draco?” Broderick Granger finally spoke.
“Yes sir.”
“What do you say about the situation?”
Looking from Hermione’s warning glare, to Daniel’s pleading expression, and to Diane’s soft smile Draco gave a small sigh before turning back to Hermione. “Looks like you are outnumbered.”
Daniel’s victory cry was unchallenged. “Yes!!!!!”
“Damn it Draco!” Hermione threw her remaining shoe at the smirking Slytherin before stomping off.
After both of the parents dispersed Draco gave Daniel a serious look. “Ok kid you won but under a few conditions.”
The boy stilled, giving him a shrewd look. “What conditions?”
Draco gave a satisfied grin as watched Daniel realize that his victory had a price. “I just want your word that you will listen to your sister and since this is your house and your teammates that makes you the leader right?”
“Yeah I suppose so.”
“Well that means you have complete responsibility over your teammates, if not I am pretty sure Hermione won’t mind cutting the party short.”
Getting his adamant agreement Draco stood up.
“Hey wait up!” Daniel’s serious tone caused Draco to turn around.
Seeing that he had Draco’s full attention, Daniel motioned him closer. “Earlier this morning I was passing Hermione’s room to the bathroom and…” The worried look on Daniel’s face caused him to frown. “It seemed like she was scared.”
“Be specific kid.”
Daniel noticed that the older boy’s icy stare seemed to make the room ten degrees colder. “Well she was just sitting straight up in her bed breathing hard…as if something scared her awake. I asked her but she just shook her head and said she was fine. But I figured I would tell you.”
“Ok kid thanks.” Draco turned and went up the stairs to Hermione’s room.
Hermione was folding her a shirt for her school trunk when she felt a familiar presence. Turning she saw Draco’s tall form standing in the doorway. All his hair was pulled back into his now signature ponytail. Today he was wearing on of the pair of jeans they bought together along with a printed T-shirt.
Her reaction when he first came out of the dressing room at the mall was complete silence. Unfortunately the Slytherin took her open mouth expression as a compliment as he laughed arrogantly to the buying counter.
“You still mad about the sleepover.” He asked, making himself comfortable on her bed.
Shrugging she continued to fold her clothes. “No not really I knew it was a losing battle from the beginning.”
Fiddling with one of her stuffed animals he gave her a wink. “I figured as much. Besides I am curious about this pizza your brother mentioned, he makes it sound great.”
Shaking her head at his gluttony she reached for another article of clothing.
Hearing her bed creak, Hermione watched him stand beside her; seeing that he wanted to say something she turned until they were facing each other.
“So tell me Princess how have you been sleeping?”
Oh God. How did he find out. Hermione’s heart started to pound. Ok maybe he was just saying it off hand.
Deciding to play it safe she answered with her best smile. “Oh just fine. Why how have you been sleeping?” Frowning a little she remembered his father’s nightmare torture. Maybe that was what this was about, giving him a worried look. “Are you ok did you have one of those nightmares.”
The anger in his eyes caught her completely off guard. Hesitantly she backed away from his fury.
“Damn it Hermione you're lying to me.” He growled.
She didn’t even have time to think of anything to say, but she did realize that she preferred it when he called her “Princess”, because the angry tone in which he used her name felt like a punch in the stomach.
“Ok Hermione see if I care, I just thought we were past this shit.” By the time she blinked she was standing alone in her room still clutching the shirt she was folding earlier.
Sitting on her bed she did her best to block the memories of her dream. Last night was the worst yet. They started the moment she slept on her own it seemed. The faces of those two bastards that attacked her haunted her dreams. Hermione, wasn’t sure what to do to make them stop but she didn’t want to go running to Draco for answers. She was smart she could figure this out, but every night she said that the dreams continued.
~
Hermione waited until evening to talk to Draco, giving him time to cool off and to make sure the rest of her family was preoccupied before talking to him.
Hearing the downstairs shower turn off she allowed a couple of minutes before she crept down the stairs past her brother’s and parents’ room. Reaching the guest bedroom door she knocked lightly.
“Come in Hermione.” The familiar deep voice didn’t carry its usual tone of flirtatious teasing or Malfoy arrogance. Just anger. She never thought she would miss the “Princess” nickname, but she did.
Opening the door she stopped cold in her tracks, at the tall pale Slytherin standing in nothing but a green bath towel around his narrow waist. Water droplets dripped from his wet hair around his shoulders down his chest, through the valley of hard abdominal muscles before gently landing into the soft green fibers of the towel.
With the force of Merlin, Hermione tore her gaze from the small but riveting show to meet his gaze, a gaze that was still cold but with a hint of mischief as he followed her obvious gaze.
Swallowing Hermione put on a false calm composure. “Maybe I should wait in the hallway so you can get dressed.”
“No need.” Walking to the only dresser in the room he leaned against it while calmly folding his arms. “So…are you going to tell me what the hell is going on or are you going to lie to me.”
Wringing her hands at his dark expression she stepped away from the open doorway. Sighing she sat on the edge of the bed. “I’m sorry Draco. It’s just…its just that I thought that I could make them stop.”
“Damn it Hermione, make what stop!” by this time he was coming towards her, causing his long white hair to swing with every step.
The tingling feeling in her eyes made her realize tears were welling. Ashamed at her lack of control she pressed on. “I have been having horrible nightmares every since I got home.” Sniffing she continued, “I know its ridiculous to let them torment me so, but I cannot get those images of that night out of my head.
“Damn it princess why would you keep this from me?” swiping a hand angrily through his soaked hair.
Ignoring her tears. “Because you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.”
“Why the hell not!”
“Because the dreams only go away when you're sleeping with me!” she yelled.
~
Daniel was just coming downstairs for a glass of water when he heard voices coming from Draco’s room. Thankfully the darkness from the rest of the house concealed him as he cautiously stepped closer to Draco’s lit open doorway.
Peeking around a corner his eyes widened at the sight of his sister crying while Draco stood looking angrily at her dressed only in a towel. The first thought in Daniel’s mind was that Draco was hurting his sister like he used to, Daniel nearly went stomping around the corner if Hermione’s last statement didn’t stop him cold. Morbidly curious Daniel continued to listen from his hiding spot.
~
Feeling his firm grip on her shoulders Hermione let herself be pulled up from the bed until she was leaning against his chest. Merlin it felt good! Turning her face into his hard naked chest she let out a pent up sigh as he wrapped his strong arms around her.
“Yeah I guess sleeping with each other in your parents’ house is out of the question. But that doesn’t mean I want to be kept out of the loop.”
She nodded in agreement letting her gaze drift around the room she paused on something sticking out of his nearby trunk. Stepping back from his embrace Hermione reached for the item that piqued her curiosity.
Frowning Draco watched in confusion as she pulled something from his school trunk. Then in horror he caught a glance at the captured contents.
“Hermione wait!” he lunged at her, but Hermione was quicker, narrowly sidestepping his advance.
Hermione’s eyes widened as she stared at the parchment papers she confiscated. The first paper contained a wonderfully realistic depiction of the cabin kitchen. Setting it down she gasped at the second drawing, the hearth’s fire from the cabin living room looked so real Hermione was sure she could feel its warmth. As she turned to the last picture in her hand she saw Draco make another swipe for them, but this time she had no where to turn.
“Draco stop.” She squealed as she spun her around to face him. Quickly she held her arms out wide while his hands were still on her waist giving her time to look at the last picture. The moment her eyes met the drawing she stilled all over. The only sound was Draco’s defeated groan.
The drawing was of her. She was sleeping in the bed at the cabin. Her long hair was elegantly strewn over the pillow while the sheets were tangled around her, the picture wasn’t lewd nor sexual but it made her feel something.
Lowering her arms to her side Hermione met Draco’s waiting gaze. The moment their eyes met she could feel her necklace pulse. Oh God she shouldn’t be doing this but she couldn’t seem to stop.
Whatever it was Draco must have been experiencing it too. The steel intensity in his eyes made her whole body heat up. Stepping closer he firmly pressed his warm body against her smaller one.
Opening her mouth to say something she wasn’t to surprised that nothing came out. But the moment she parted her lips Draco’s eyes seemed to darken as she stared at them. By now her body was going numb at the sensory overload.
Daniel could hardly believe he was witnessing this “moment” between his sister and Draco, a guy she used to despise. Besides the initial reaction of nausea, the entire situation was shocking. Deciding that he has seen enough Daniel tried to sneak away. However, his arm hit the banister on the stairway before he could make a clean get away. The noise seemed like a crash disturbing the sea of dark silence in the living room. With eyes wide he didn’t stick around to see if he was heard.
The sound from the darkened hall caused the two Hogwart’s students to separate like polar opposites. Embarrassed Hermione dropped the picture she was holding on his bed and hurried out of the room to her room.
Still in the grips of the moment he shared with Hermione Draco cursed at Daniel’s terrible timing. Closing the door Draco removed the towel he was still wearing and threw on his sleeping pants before flopping onto his bed. Draco scowled as he remembered the retreating form of Hermione’s little brother. Squeezing his eyes shut Draco let his mind wonder about the situation.
What would have happened if they were not interrupted? Groaning, Draco turned over into the soft pillows, praying they would suffocate him, because he knew exactly what he would have done. But it was Hermione’s scared and slightly curious face that he kept recalling. What would she have let him do? At that thought his imagination went into overdrive letting out a deep growl into the pillow he realized it was best they interrupted. The last thing he wanted to do was screw up the good thing he had going with Hermione.
Closing his eyes Draco tried to prepare himself for the awkward feelings over breakfast.
~*~
Hermione could not believe she just did that! With her head completely under the pillow, hoping to pass onto the afterlife easily, she let out a groan. Just thinking about how close his lean hard body was to hers made her heart beat wildly.
Forcing herself to close her eyes she tried not to let her imagination run away from her with images of the Slytherin.
~*~*~*~
Hermione stared in horror as their faces kept getting closer no matter what she did, she couldn’t seem to move or scream. Their laughs and horrible words rang louder and louder with each approaching step. Oh God their hands centimeters away from her body.
~
Standing in darkness, a darkness that was so deep that Draco knew it was created by magic—dark magic.
“Where are you boy?” Draco’s pulsed raced as he recognized the baritone voice of his father amongst the dark.
Clenching and unclenching his fist Draco tried to take control of his mind. Too much was on the line if he were to let his father find him, the Granger’s would never be safe.
“I can feel you Draco.” The pleased smile on the bastard’s face was clearly audible.
On the verge of panicking Draco searched his mind for an answer. Hearing a footstep behind him Draco’s insides turned to ice.
~
Feeling all hope lost as their faces loomed directly above her, Hermione called the one name she knew that could make everything right.
“Draco!”
~
Without turning to see his father’s face, Draco thought of the one person who would give him the answers to his problems.
“Hermione.”
~
The strong pulse that responded at her throat pulled her easily out of her nightmare. Sitting up in her bed Hermione tried to control her breathing. Closing her eyes she whispered the name of the one person she need the most right now.
“Draco.”
~
The intense heat coming from his finger shot up his arm throughout his whole body. Just as the footsteps of his father stopped directly behind him, Draco blinked to find himself in the guest bedroom of the Grangers.
Trying to figure out what happened, Draco felt his ring pulse again while he heard the soft whisper of his name.
Wasting no time Draco threw back the covers and went to the window beside his bed. Undoing the latch he lifted the glass panel and jumped onto the soft grass. Looking directly up from his window Draco spotted Hermione’s window. Ignoring the night’s soft breeze on his naked torso, Draco stood on the ledge of his windowsill and easily jumped up to the target window. Grabbing the ledge he pulled himself up until, he could grab the windowpane.
The sound of her window moving nearly gave Hermione heart failure, but the image of the half clad Slytherin easily landing through the opening was a different feeling entirely.
Not saying a word she watched him softly close the window before making his way to her bed. Soft beams of moonlight pierced through the room’s darkness highlighting only half of his face as he looked down at her.
“You called me?” it was more of a statement than a question, Hermione noticed.
Squinting her eyes a little she tried to see his face better in the darkness. “Yes.”
Like a large cat Hermione watched him gracefully crawl across her bed until he was right in front of her. Feeling a little awkward to how close his face was to hers, she lowered her eyes.
The firm touch of his fingers beneath her chin brought her eyes back to his silver gaze.
“Was it the dreams?” closing her eyes she nodded as she brushed away her tears with the back of her hand.
“What about you?” she asked softly. Feeling herself being pulled her closer until her chin rested on his shoulder. Letting her head rest on his shoulder Hermione wrapped her arms around him at his unspoken answer.
Hermione swallowed her gasp as she felt Draco push her back down into the soft mattress. In shocked silence she watched as he crawled directly over her until his hair was hanging directly around her face like a veil of pure platinum. The nervousness the situation evoked could only cause her to watch as he adjusted bed sheets around the both of them.
“Draco we can’t! What if…oh!” her words were lost when he lowered his weight directly on top of her.
Draco nearly lost all control at the sound of her shocked exclamation. There was no answer as to why he was playing with fire like this. But her sweet soft body beneath his was too good to stop.
Hermione had no idea what to do with herself as the large very manly figure adjusted himself to comfort on top of her sprawled body. Without warning Draco grabbed each of her legs spreading them until he could lay between them comfortably. Never in her life did she ever think she would be in this situation.
“Draco what about my parents.”
Ignoring her shocked face as he settled his head comfortably on her breast. “Don’t worry Princess I will leave before they wake up, unless…” he smiled devilishly, as he resisted the urge to bury his face into her heavenly soft globes. “unless you planned on more than just sleeping.” With his head on her chest he could really feel her heart race.
“Draco!” she whispered in shock.
The deep vibrations of his laugh vibrated her whole body.
“Go to sleep Princess, I will keep your nightmares away.” Yawning Draco’s silver eyes gleamed nocturnally before he closed his eyes.
Forgetting her discomfort Hermione wrapped one arm around his shoulders while she boldly ran her other hand though his thick white hair, something she had been dreaming of doing. “And I will try to keep yours away.”
A deep groan coming from her chest was the last thing he heard before she closed her eyes.
~*
Thank Merlin, Hermione was shorter than him, because if she was shocked about him laying on top of her she would faint at what her body was doing to his body.
Groaning for the hundredth time Draco carefully adjusted himself while taking a peek at her face. Sighing in relief at the sight of her sleeping, Draco carefully let a hand slide up from beneath the covers.
God he shouldn’t be doing this. But being man and being a man in this situation there was no way he could resist, the very laws of nature forbade him.
Letting his hand glide upward until he reached his destination, carefully Draco let his knuckles graze the soft mound beside his head.
Should not be doing this.
Definitely, should not be doing this.
But Merlin help him, because Draco watched intently as he let his hand unfold to carefully cup the soft weight of her breast.
Like white hot lightning coursing through him Draco could barely contain the heat she caused.
Knowing damn well he should stop, Draco continued his ministrations. Gently he let his thumb pass over the cloth covered nipple. The squeezing of his hair at the base of his neck caused him to freeze as he looked up. Still asleep Hermione turned her head a little.
Figuring he was already going to burn in hell for doing this to his friend he decided to jump head first into the metaphoric flames. Passing his thumb again across the hardening bud, he let his thumb press harder this time.
“Mmm…Draco,” her whispered moan of his name along with the shifting of her pelvis nearly sent him to his grave.
Taking his hand away, Draco decided to stop testing fate. It was just too hard playing with fire.
Literally, he groaned as he adjusted himself probably not for the last time this night.
