Chapter 15
“Right, we have two people coming in for the class this week. Both are considering taking on the floorwalker job. They just want to see if they can handle the topic, nothing more.” Sirius said, pushing the papers across the table to the ones he hired for watching the other side. Most of them took on the duty of teaching the class, rotating for it when their schedules let them.
Looking over the two names listed there, Trent asked, “These are both friends of yours, aren't they?” He was sure, of course, but wanted it out there if they were.“They are,” Harry confirmed with a nod. “We've known them for years. They're the two redheads that come sit with us when they are in. Nothing to worry about and nothing wonky. They're brothers.”“Both cut a damned intimidating presence, too. They are big ones, as you've seen,” Sirius said looking at those across the table. “Charlie works with dragons. That's enough to tell you he's a tough one. And he's scarred up from it, something you can easily see. Bill—I'll put it out here as I know none of you buy into the stupidity about such matters; those scars on his face are from Fenrir Greyback. He was attacked by him, though not on the full moon. Anyone with an ounce of common sense will know what those scars are from, thus not as likely to tangle with him.”“We think most would back down from the two of them because of their size and presence alone,” Harry tossed out there. “So, they can help if they think they can handle it.”“Sounds good to me,” Trent said with a nod, hearing the others echo the sentiment. “You know them both well then?”“Well enough we are renting part of our house to them,” Sirius chuckled, grinning as he did. “They aren't anything to worry about. However, scheduling is. Both have other jobs, obviously. We'll have to work around their hours there. Bill also has a child he'll have visitation with. Even if we can get them alternate weekends alone, it'll be a huge help,” he then continued. “I'm more than willing to work with them.”“What are your leanings whether they'll manage to handle what goes on?” Ash, one of the first Doms Sirius hired, asked. He was older, having done the scene for years, so he had more experience than most of the others.“We don't know,” Sirius admitted with a shake of his head. “They'll see how it goes with the class then they'll start coming in during busier times to see. We talked them into coming in and sticking with the two of us on those nights so they can get an understanding of what goes on.”“If they can handle it, we can easily get them trained,” Harry added, looking around. Most times, because he was Sirius' slave, people wouldn't listen to him. This lot was different. They knew he was co-owner and they were to listen. It was just during operational hours he had to go about it oddly, nothing more. “We just have to wait and see if they can take it. All of us know some can't.”“I'm not going to push them into it, obviously, and will wait to see what they say,” Sirius continued. “Let's see. Bill has his kid this weekend, so he won't come around. From what Charlie told us before we came in, he might show up tonight to give Bill time alone with his daughter. He'll get a damned good idea what goes on this way.”“We do ask that you keep an eye out for them if you have time and we're busy, so some of the fools don't get stupid,” Harry sighed, shaking his head. “We'll do what we can, but you know what it's like on the weekends.”“Oh yes, all the drunken fools come out,” Mathias said with a snort, leaning back and scrubbing both hands through his hair. “We'll do what we can, but we're usually too busy.”“All we can ask,” Sirius nodded. “I'm going to have Harry glued to him if I'm not around and the bar backs keep watch then signal all of you if anyone gets stupid. It's the best plan we have until we can get some more bodies in here.”“Any of you have anyone you can refer for the job? We need several bodies at this time,” Sirius asked, looking around.“I have a couple I know coming in at the first of the week,” Jarec said, looking between the two. “They know the lifestyle, but don't actively participate. They're more the kind that like to watch. As I know them and they aren't the kind to get into trouble, I told them we're looking.”“Good,” Sirius nodded, happy there were a few. “Let's see what Harry and I can come up with, but don't hold your breath. Bill and Charlie were mentioned, but we discounted them. Most we know don't have a clue about this place. So, we need to go about it another way for most of the bodies.”“We'll see what we can find,” Trent assured him with a nod. “I think all of us have some personal contacts we can put out feelers to and come up with some bodies. It'll just take us some time, nothing more.”“The faster the better as it would take the strain off all of us,” Sirius said, looking around. “We get it's not easy, though. Just want it out there.” With that topic out of the way, he pressed on to the normal they always went over before the busy nights, adding in anything new. This time it was him and Harry taking on floorwalker duties. The rest was mostly the same, but it was the routine they came up with, so they went with it as it helped plenty.
“Hey, Harry,” Charlie said a bit louder than normal as he slid up by where the younger Wizard was seated at the bar. It was Friday night, after ten and the place was packed. This was the first time he had been in when it was this busy and his eyes were already wide at what he was seeing on the other side. While nothing was as bad as the fisting he had seen the one time, there was plenty of freaky shit going on, that's for sure. The one that had him wincing was the dude that was being beaten to the point he was bleeding.
Somewhat startled, Harry looked up then grinned at Charlie before saying, “Hey, Charlie.” Then he signaled for the bar back to come over and take Charlie's order. “Sorry, was intent on what I was doing.” With a snort, he then added, “And trying not to watch what's going on with some of them on the other side. Very much not my thing and makes my skin crawl.”“I can understand completely,” Charlie chuckled, taking a seat and ordering a beer. After another glance around, he shook his head and observed, “Its damned busy, isn't it?”“This is about normal,” Harry told him, looking around and taking a sip of his drink. “It's busier the nights around the full moon and hols. You've just not been in when it's going full swing.”“Yeah, I see that now,” Charlie said, turning so he didn't have to see the beating going on. If he sat like this, he could see the whole side of the club the floorwalkers would take care of without taking in the traumatizing bits from the other side. “It doesn't seem like there are many problems on this side,” he observed, scoping everything out.“There are some, but it's early. The big ones happen after a few have had too much to drink and can't get a leg over,” Harry sighed, looking up and glancing around the mass of people on this side of the club. “Most aren't overt either. They're the kind you have to know what you're looking for. Occasionally, we get a stupid drunk one that goes all moron then gets overt. It's rare, though. Most that come in, either as members or guests, know better than to pull that bit as they'll be out on their arse as fast as someone can bounce them that way. Usually it's Sirius. You know him, he's not nice about it.”“I'm damned sure they don't know what hit them either,” Charlie chuckled, taking a sip of his drink.“Nope and they don't try again,” Harry grinned, shuffling the papers he was working with into a pile. He figured Charlie was just here to watch, so he relaxed, planning to point out a problem if he saw one, but pressed on like he normally would with his friend. “Everything all right at home? Victoire get there fine?”“It's good,” Charlie nodded with a smile. “Last I saw she had Bill slightly harried decorating her room. Well, him and Kreacher. Like her mum, she keeps changing her mind and is a bit insistent it's done right. I left them to it and escaped. Besides, it gives them time alone, something Bill wants, obviously.”“Good way to go about it,” Harry nodded. Then he chuckled and added, “She's more than a bit like Fleur, I admit it. He has the patience of a saint there with her.”“She is,” Charlie agreed with a laugh, shaking his head. “It's fine. She's a good kid, honestly. Bill adores her. Whatever bad is balanced out by good. She's Daddy's girl, no doubt, and loves him to death. He does her as well. She'll level out at some point to somewhere in the middle.”“I figured,” Harry said with a smile.Charlie gave Harry a nudge then said, “She's already asking where you and Sirius are. She wants to see her uncles. We told her you'd both see her for a little while tomorrow.”“We'll make a point to get up a bit early and see her,” Sirius said, coming up and taking a seat by Harry, levitating some food for all of them onto the bar. “Tell her I said that.”“I will,” Charlie assured him with a smile and nod. “If you don't, she's going to end up getting huffy with both of you. She's frighteningly like her mother when she does that bit.”Laughing, hearing Harry snicker, Sirius told him, “Yeah, we'll make an earlier appearance, don't worry. It's not something I want to encounter.”After a glance around, Sirius asked Harry, “Any problems that you can see? Or are they all behaving.”“Nothing so far, but it's still early. Not enough booze has flowed yet.” Harry told him, scanning around himself, eyeballing a few he planned to keep an eye on as he had that feeling about them. “There are several I think we should watch.” Then he pointed them out to Sirius. “Just a feeling, but you know the kind.”“I do,” Sirius nodded, honing in on the ones Harry pointed out. “I'll say something to the rest of the staff about keeping their eyes peeled and saying something if it looks to head somewhere it shouldn't.”“How do you know who to keep an eye on?” Charlie asked, curious, because everything looked fine to him. He was sure the two knew more what to look for than he did, so he wanted to know.“Mostly it's just a feeling you get from dealing with the ones that don't think the rules apply to them for whatever reason,” Sirius snorted, shaking his head. “It's something you get a feel for after you've been here for a while. Others it's their behavior. That you pick up on quickly.” Then he began walking Charlie through the most basic of what to watch for, the meaning of some of it and such. When he finished, he added, “You'll understand more after the class. It won't be the whole thing, of course, as it's not long enough, but it will cover the basics. If you take it on, the guys on the other side and we will make sure you understand what's good and what isn't. That will give you the basis for understanding what to look for.”“Interesting,” Charlie told him truthfully, scanning around. It was, too. He had read the book Bill bought, but some of what the two said wasn't in it. “Let me ask this; how much of a problem do you have with them putting up a fight when you step in?” He was curious about that end.“Very rarely does anyone get that dumb,” Harry told him honestly. “It's only happened a couple of times that I can remember. Sirius alone is intimidating enough most wouldn't think to try. Add in the guys from the other side, as they come to help if it does happen, and they don't get far.”“The key is to look intimidating and remain calm, nothing more,” Sirius said. Then he grinned and chuckled, “You and Bill can easily pull that off. You're both big men and plenty scarred up from various bits. Put on that look, I'm sure you know the one, and most won't go there. That's the key and always has been; do it without violence or spells. If you can back them down by a look, you do it.”“Yeah, we're good at those bits,” Charlie admitted with a huge grin and chuckle. “I'm used to dragons. Drunks have nothing on them and I'm not apt to get singed when they have a temper tantrum.”“True!” Harry laughed.“And keep that in mind when dealing with them,” Sirius pointed out, chuckling still. Then, sobering up, he said, “It's not hard. Most will back down when they see us coming. You'll have a uniform, of sorts, and they'll know what it means. One look at you and Bill and I doubt there'll be problems. I'm not nearly your size and I can back them down quickly. It's all about the attitude.”“Something else we can pull off,” Charlie admitted with a grin and a chuckle. “What's the uniform?” He asked, curious. While he didn't think it would anything outrageous, he wanted to know.“Nothing horrible,” Sirius assured him. He then cocked his thumb to the other side and said, “About like theirs; jeans, sleeveless shirt, hat, boots and bands you wear on your biceps. The band will be different colors to designate your job. It's something we know stands out and people will pay attention to. Not to mention it's comfortable and keeps you cool as it tends to get warm in here when it fills up. Plus it blends in with the theme of the club, so we go with it.”“Not bad then,” Charlie admitted with a smile and a nod.“We try to make it as easy on the staff as we can,” Harry told him, once more scanning around after taking a sip of his drink. “They get free drinks, though we ask you do it in moderation if you're drinking booze, and food. Of course, we have a staff discount for out front if you want it.”“To make it easy, as some don't want their faces shown, we have masks you can wear to cover your eyes. They're the same color as the bands you wear on your biceps,” Sirius tossed out there.Charlie nodded to that, pleased the two were good to their employees, though he expected no less of them, then he began asking about the really busy nights. If it wasn't much worse than what he was seeing and he could avoid watching some of what happened on the other side, he might be able to take this on easily. After all, the more money they socked away, the faster they could get a house like they wanted.
“It's not bad then?” Bill asked after a tired yawn. Charlie had just come home from the club and it was like one in the morning, far past his bedtime. He wanted to hear what he said, though, so he had made him promise to wake him when he came in.
“It's busy as hell, that's for damned sure, far more than what we've seen of it, but not bad.” Charlie admitted, flopping down on his side of the bed after stripping down to his boxers. Though they were wary about staying together with Victoire around, they had a good excuse if she came in. She wouldn't think anything was off. Pressing on, he said, “They explained quite a lot to me and what to look for. Though there weren't any problems, there were ones they were keeping an eye on. By the time I left, I understood part of it. And I did learn you can easily ignore the other side if you're focusing. It's good, too, because some of what was going on made my damned skin crawl!”“I can see where some of the rougher stuff would,” Bill admitted with a grin. “Let me see what I think after that session and hanging around a few nights. Is it like the bouncer I mentioned?”“Very much,” Charlie told him honestly with a nod. “Even they said it was. I think it's something we can both handle, Bill. Easily. As Sirius said; we're both big and intimidating. That's half the battle with it.”“And can be even more so when we need to,” Bill added with a huge grin.“Oh yes,” Charlie agreed with a laugh. “It'll come in handy.” Changing topics, he asked, “How is the kid? She doing fine?” He assumed there was some stress with the new place and all.“She's good,” Bill assured him with a bit of a smile. “We have her room all decorated how she wants. While there was some stress over the new place and being unsure what was where, she settled down. We spent plenty of time playing. I read a couple books to her before she finally fell asleep. Tonight she should be fine as she's exhausted and probably won't wake. Tomorrow might be a problem. We'll see. She'll more than likely have some difficulties the first few visits as it's very different than the cottage.”“I'll make sure to keep an eye out for problems when I'm around,” Charlie nodded. “Well—and for her asking too many questions.”“I'm sure she won't,” Bill told him, stretching back out with a groan. “We'll be fine. Kreacher promised to keep an eye on her and let us know if there's any concerns. I'm sure he will. She took to him right off, something that seemed to make the elf happy.”“Good,” Charlie smiled. “He'll be a big help.” Then he added, snorting as he did, a big grin on his face, “Sirius and Harry promised to come down early tomorrow so she could see them. She won't get all huffy that way and demand you find them.”Laughing, Bill told him, “Good! She would, too! We both know it. She'll enjoy it since she adores the two.” Then he flopped onto his side and draped an arm over Charlie before leaning over to kiss him. “It'll be fine, don't worry. In the end, we'll get it all worked out.”“We will, in a way we'll enjoy,” Charlie said, curling up to him with a contented sigh. “Just might take some time.”As he lay there, feeling content, Bill asked, “Learn anything new about some areas in the club?”“Nothing for us, no, other than some basic information. We'll get into that when we have time,” Charlie told him honestly. Then, thinking it over, he added, “Well, I did learn something personally, about Sirius and Harry.”Intrigued, Bill asked, looking at him, “What's that?”“The marks on Harry aren't from him being hit,” Charlie said with a shake of his head. “One of the bits going on tonight was someone being beaten, and I don't mean playfully. It wasn't something I handled well and couldn't watch. Turns out Harry can't either. He wouldn't turn around while it was going on. From what he said it's something he doesn't like.”“Interesting!” Bill mused, thinking that over. “The marks then? Only thing I can think of is being tied up.”“Same here,” Charlie nodded. “I didn't ask, of course, as it's not my business, but that was my leaning on it. Especially from the patterns we've seen of some.”“Not sure if I want to know what they do, honestly, but it's still curious,” Bill told him honestly.“Same on this end.” Charlie admitted. “I did learn that Harry knows what the hell he's talking about when it comes to the whole bit. Sirius had to spend time running around to tend to some areas, so I mostly sat and talked to Harry the whole time. Bill—not sure what's going on with the two of them, but I have a feeling that Harry knew plenty going in and Sirius wasn't the only one interested. He didn't say anything about the past or where he might have learned it, but I have a feeling it's there.”“Makes you wonder where he did then,” Bill told him, brow furrowed as he thought it over. “I mean, we know who was in the dorm with him. Ron—that's obvious. He was damned clueless about most of it. The same with Neville. I'm not seeing the others in the dorm much different. So, it makes you wonder where he did learn.”“Wasn't from Ginny either, we know that,” Charlie told him with a soft chuckle. “She was boy crazy, we all knew about that, but no leanings in this direction.”“Not sure where he could have learned,” Bill admitted honestly, trying to think where he might have picked it up. With a sigh, he said, “Doesn't matter, I suppose. They're happy, that's obvious. If they like it, let them have fun.”“Yeah,” Charlie sighed, shutting his eyes. He was beat, that's for sure, as it was long past his bedtime.Leaning over, Bill kissed his brother softly then laid down. “We need to get some sleep as the kid isn't known for sleeping in.”“True,” Charlie grinned. “Then she's going to want to run us all over the place. So, yeah, sleep is needed.”After shutting his eyes, Bill remained awake. All he could think about what the new want for what he was learning about. It was now there and wasn't about to go away. Unlike some, though, he wanted to know what he was doing and how to go about it before he jumped in. And he craved learning, in the way he had some areas in school. There was something so attractive and alluring he wanted to know all he could about it then decide what to do. He would. It would just take some dancing around to do it, nothing more. Then they could have fun. With a smile on his face, he listened to Charlie’s breathing deepen as he slipped off then drifted away himself, some wonderfully erotic images that appealed to what Fenrir had unleashed in him adored. Oh yes, he wanted this and would have it. It was just going to take time to get it there.
