CONCELEBRATION
~~~ TUESDAY 17TH MAY ~~~
As the horizon lightened Bobbie and Robbie appeared with hot chocolate-filled croissants and coffee, waking everyone to be up in time before the sun peeped over the surrounding hills. Dean hovered over the island on his broomstick keeping watch for the sun. They had worked out that it would be a quarter hour after he sighted it before its rays struck Astoria’s back.
Following Harry’s pattern, Draco stood astride the pit supporting Astoria whilst the others dug her out. This time however, Draco was naked and sprouting a woody; kept firm by Harry’s lascivious thoughts via the mind meld. Ginevra was doing an equivalent job on Astoria.
The sun’s rays struck Astoria full in her back and, as before, the green bubble engulfed both her and Draco and, like previously, she became the voracious sex fiend. Draco’s not insignificant appurtenance was swallowed by Astoria’s hungry orifice, sucking out his man-juice like there was no tomorrow. Both Ginevra and Harry became very turned on by the spectacle and the feelings emanating through the mind-web.
Ten minutes into the escapade the bubble seemed to pause and then extended some green tentacles. The feelers homed in on Ginevra and Harry who were swiftly and thaumically stripped; then drawn into the bubble. Now Ginevra had Harry and was pumping her abdomen in order to bring them to fruition, the first of which happened very quickly.
The other observers stepped hastily back, just in case the tentacles came exploring again. However, the bubble seemed satisfied with the four copulating partners. Subsequently, the bystanders noticed a certain change in the pattern. After three ejaculations the partners changed. With a hesitant Harry inside a startled Astoria and a reluctant Draco performing with a begrudging Ginevra. Not that they could countermand the green thaums. Another two ejaculations over, the bubble altered the pairings again. The heterosexuals in the observer party had a very pertinent lesson in homosexual practices as the partners returned to their mate of choice. Once fully engaged and on the next fruition, the participants passed out in each other’s arms.
Hermione’s first red bubble, created by Seamus and Dean, burst when the green sphere sent out its tentacles to include Harry and Ginevra. Because the first pair were recovering Ernie and Lavender created the next and larger one and now slowly contracted it. It contracted slowly, eventually popping the green sphere and depositing the comatose quartet on a specially summoned mattresses. Ronald conjured a duvet and covered the exhausted four, as before. By lunchtime they had recovered enough to talk about the experience with the rest of the company. Ginevra was breast feeding James whilst they talked.
“Do you think the island’s magic recognised the participants from the last time?”
“Don’t forget that the four of us were linked mentally at the dragon ceremony.”
“Another factor was that we were mentally stimulating our partners, in order that they wouldn’t flag in their efforts.”
“Whatever! I think there’s a good chance that both Ginevra and Astoria will soon be mothers. But by whose seed that will remain an open question.”
“We’ll just have to wait and see the babies’ characteristics, won’t we?”
“I’m not sure I have the energy to undergo another accidental session, tomorrow. So perhaps we should stay here at Innishfin instead, or at least not be on Catlin’s island when the next pair couple,” observed Ginevra: “I’m worn out now and need to be on top form for the match.”
“MMM … WE AGREE!” said the other three in unison.
“Well; there’re enough of us to be in attendance and we all understand if you four don’t want to risk it.”
“At least we’ve built up our sexual stamina from last time. We lasted almost twice as long,” said Harry, with a wistful smile.
The Seers flew back to the Fortress that evening after participating in the barbecue and Hermione burying ceremony.
~~~ WEDNESDAY 18TH MAY ~~~
The reports back said that hers and Ronald’s coupling had been excitingly efficacious, with Seamus stimulating Harry and Draco with his lurid descriptions of Ronald’s performance.
“It’s not fair!” pouted Draco: “You two have seen his prick and bum in action before when you were at Hogwarts.”
“Perhaps, had you not been so obtuse with us, you might have had an invite to some of our dorm fests. All kinds of interesting things used to happen there,” Harry laughingly chided his partner.
“We got Harry drunk one time and …”
“… Shut up Seamus …”
“… Never mind my partner’s qualms … Tell …?”
“… He thought it was a good idea to show us a muggle strip-tease. He may not be a good ballroom dancer, but give him a four-poster pillar, and he makes a very good pole dancer. He had everyone panting by the time his untouched dong gave forth its pearly conclusions.”
“That’s a performance you owe me, Lover. Would you like to start on the firewhisky now?”
“If it’s a private performance, just for you, Dearest; then I won’t need the extra stimulus. Beside which, alcohol deadens my nerve endings and I fancy you’d want to continue afterwards … Yes?”
All of them lingered over the barbeque that evening and the ceremony afterwards. Those that had actively participated thought it wise not to be there when the green bubble was made.
~~~ THURSDAY 19TH MAY ~~~
Blaise and Gilda had a very satisfying set of green encounters the following morning.
Now all the participants had to do was wait-and-see.
~~~ GAMES ~~~
All the mages stayed over at the island fortress for the Saturday Quidditch match, which the Harpies won. The Seers had carefully switched off their mind-meld because both Draco and Harry knew they would automatically look for the snitch. Astoria managed to keep the block going despite her partner’s anxious searching and the two male Seers’ glee when they spotted the snitch well before either of the teams’ chasers did.
Later in the Saturday afternoon the mages bid the Finnegan family goodbye and thanked them for their hospitality.
~~~ SPARKLES ~~~
One evening the seers were in the Drawing room at the Hacienda chatting generally about nothing in particular. Astoria was gently rocking a sleepy James on her knee.
“Did you notice that Ronnie and Estéban have the same sparkle that John has?”
“What do you mean Ginny?”
“You know, the sparkle that surrounds them, like it does us and all of the Dumbledorians, I saw it first when we were touching hands before kneeling down at their May Service.”
“Ginny; we don’t see anyone sparkling.”
“Oh! I thought … Oh … maybe that’s my gift … You know … Like Harry being able to see magic with his eyes closed.”
“Okay Ginny, tell us what you see.”
“Well, when we touched hands John and Ronnie had golden sparkles round them. We and the Dumbledorians have silver ones. There are other coloured sparkles intermixed as well, Draco and Harry have the purple that Ernie saw: Tor and I developed that after the Phrontistery meeting. Then Hannah, Neville, Seamus and Dean have green sparkles, you two do as well, Tor and I seem to have caught those since Catlin’s Island. Tor, Draco and Hermione have dark blue mixed in, Harry a bright yellow which matches some of Minerva’s sparkles.”
“Hmm … I think you can see auras,” mused Draco: “Like the pictures of halos around medieval saints … I don’t; what about you, Tor and Harry?”
“NO, WE DON’T, EITHER.”
“So, it’s like you said, your special gift conferred.”
“I just thought you all saw them, I suppose the awareness has just grown upon me gradually. How about we all hold hands and I’ll try to let you see what I see.”
They did so. The images received were rather blurred. Then they tried Harry’s magic seeing gift, again the other three’s images were rather blurred.
“Okay! Two special gifts for Harry and me; what about you two?”
“Maybe they’ll appear when they’re needed.”
“I think yours is that smelling thing, Tor. We only register it occasionally.”
“It’s an heredity thing, Harry. Grandmamma has it and so does Mam. Although … I suppose … it has been enhanced in me.”
“Draco … you’d better tell us about anything slightly unusual when it happens, that might be the first signs.”
The others nodded their agreement.
“Perhaps we ought to attempt some form of classification of the colours? I suspect the golden ones are for clergymen with the tingle,” suggested Astoria
“Mmm … Yes Tor … The Lutheran pastor had the gold sparkle; oh, and the one who blessed us at Kaiser Wilhelm.”
“Maybe all priests have it.”
“Brother Ingo didn’t.”
“He’d not been ordained; that might be the difference. So, Ginny; do all of us mages sparkle?”
“Mmm … I think so. It’s a silvery glitter. The first years only shimmer and there’s quite a difference in strength between members too.”
“It’s a pity lots of people can’t see them. If it were so we wouldn’t have to go through that degrading gauging.”
Everyone agreed with Draco’s remark.
“So, the more the sparkle, the greater the gift conferred?”
“Mmm … Harry’s the brightest and Draco’s close to that, with the rest of us not that far behind. Teddy’s just flares occasionally, usually when he changes colour or appearance.”
“What about James?”
“I can’t see any; maybe he’s too young yet.”
“Okay; the green shine; are we all the same colour?” asked Draco.
“No! You, Harry, Hannah and Neville are grass green, but you two have the sea green as we do … Mmm … Herms and Ron have it now as does Blaise; Gilda’s hands sort of glow like that too. It’s the same colour as the bubble. Come to think of it, Ingo’s hands glowed golden slightly.”
“Hmm … Sea-green for Catlin, grass-green for green-men. You mentioned bright yellow?”
“Yes, Minerva and Harry … Oh, and my dad and Kingsley … I think that’s leadership, don’t you?”
“What about the dark blue?” asked Astoria: “I guess it’s about learning and books?”
“That fits; Minerva and madam Pince have it … Yes, and so does Ronnie. Ah! Now I remember; John has leadership yellow too and some dark blue. Now Bertie and Gallus have a bronze sparkle, Bertie has a bit of the yellow too.”
*Well done my children. As you surmised; the other gifts will appear as the need arises. There is no need for all of you to clasp hands, as long as one of you is touching the skin of another one, then the one with the gift will be able to exercise it.*
“I reckon bronze must be to do with precious metals.”
“Could be!”
“Harry, your purple is throbbing, why?”
Harry blushed: “Um … I was just looking at Draco and admiring him then it led to fancying him; then sexy feelings about him.”
“Right partner; time to do something about them. Come along.”
Harry jumped up, and quickly followed his mate through the portals and into their bedroom. As they got undressed Draco giggled.
“Okay Lover, what amuses you?”
“Never mind your purple aura throbbing, your purple prick is too.” Still smiling, Draco knelt and placed his lips around the said instrument. Harry’s knees quivered and he lost his balance. Luckily, he was near the bed and collapsed on to it. Draco repositioned himself and a susurrating sixty-nine commenced. Later the pair slept soundly; snuggled into each other.
~~~ SATURDAY 4TH JUNE – HACIENDA ~~~
“Um … Ronnie … Are you due to celebrate tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow it’s Estéban’s turn, although I really should attend divine worship. Why do you ask?”
“Perhaps you might like to come with us. We could find you a room at the cottage and you could meet John in the morning. You did say you wanted to talk to John, didn’t you? Maybe even attend our Eucharist for a change. We can offer you a room to sleep in.”
Heironimo closed his eyes for a minute, he was very still; then a smile broke out: “I think this is an opportunity for Estéban to become more involved.”
Estéban was happy to let Heironimo officiate instead: “I’ve been dying to see what’s on the other side of your fiery door.”
Heironimo put his hand out to hold Estéban back.
“It’s not a door to hell, if that’s what you’re thinking, Ronnie. We found that the portals have an affinity to chimneys. So, we chose the cupboard close to the boiler downstairs. One of the magical means of transportation is from fire to fire, but the portals don’t use the fires or the floo powder.” Astoria explained: “It’s like using a corridor full of doors. The geographical distance between them is shrunken into a series of very small rooms. You met some of our muggle friends at the May Planting, they came through alright.”
Heironimo closed his eyes and had a private conversation with the Spirit and then he gave his curate permission to continue.
Downstairs Harry explained: “In order to use the portals you must wear this charmed medallion next to your skin.”
Once outside the portal he continued: “This double mountain emblem on the door indicates El Altogranja; which is where Imelda’s friend’s elderly aunt lives. Her house is sited in an ancient hill-fort, but it’s really only a staging point for us. If we visit her, she becomes confused, so we try not to muddle the old dear. The next portal leads, via this surf-board symbol, to La Maison Malfoi in Guéthary.”
“Okay, I’d like to see what your seaside residence looks like.” Estéban looked slightly nervous as they stepped through.
~~~ SEASIDE ~~~
The cellar at Guéthary was next door to the furnace and led into a passage near the wine cellars where one of the house elves greeted them. Estéban was still surprised to see elves because he had never met many more of them apart from Luiz’s family, Kreacher and Dorothy, so all the usual introductions had to be made, plus a warning about the extra goblins he would meet at Chantry Cottage.
“You mean that you have an open society there? What about the International Statute of Secrets you told me about?”
“We’ve avoided making a fuss over it. The Minister is a regular at our Sunday lunches and many members of the Wizengamot know. The muggles that realise the truth are also into what they call the old ways, like your habitants. The incomers just think of it as some quaint old-fashioned village customs. However, we’re very careful not to do things in front of the uninitiated; thus, don’t leak as much as might be expected. If any muggle outsider becomes too interested; he or she is invited to stay or ‘encouraged’ to forget what they have seen and leave. Many of the uncomfortable incomers have sold their houses and various mages are now residents in their place.”
“I see … Is that what you British people call ‘fudging the issues’?”
“I think we see it as ‘compromise’ really, but it amounts to much the same, yes.”
After a quick look round La Maison they went briefly to the beach; where their abduction story was unfolded. Estéban proved to be quite broad-minded; probably because of living next to nature in rural Spain. Going via L’Isle Gétorac, Chateau des Sorciers and Number Twelve the group opened the Manor’s peacock portal. Here Estéban was introduced to Ernie and Lavender and given a quick tour of the establishment.
Back in the system the group opened the red-flower portal from Number Twelve into Chantry cottage.
~~~ AS THE SPIRIT LEADS ~~~
“Hello Seers, where have you been?”
“Hello Kreacher, you’ve met Estéban already, haven’t you? We intend Ronnie and Estéban to become new priestly additions to the wider team; we’ve been showing him around some of the estate. Why do you ask?”
“Ronald and Hermione are entertaining Father John upstairs. He came to see you four, I think.”
“Okay, we’ll be with them in a minute, Okay?”
The five of them climbed the stairs into the living area.
“Hello, My Dears, I see you have a new acquaintance? Now I know why I had to come here.” The vicar spread his hands out wide: “I’m John. I welcome you in peace, Father.”
The two priests offered and received the usual kiss of peace.
“In peace I greet you, Father. I’m Estéban, following the Spirit, were you?” asked Estéban hesitantly.
“Of course! With this lot, it usually leads me into some interesting situations.” John had a quiet moment: “Would you like to concelebrate tomorrow?”
Estéban had one of his quiet moments also: “I’d love to! Ah … I see what you mean about getting into interesting situations … Ah … perhaps we ought to sort out who does what.”
“Of course, my dear man, love to. I have a spare room; perhaps I can offer you our hospitality.”
“That is if our mages don’t mind, they had offered me a room.”
“Of course, we don’t. We’re already looking forward to the service tomorrow.”
After bidding the assembled company goodnight the two priests went off to the vicarage.
Being a Saturday night, there were quite a few Dumbledorians around, so they had a joint dinner on the patio.
“I’m glad you got them to join. Me family’ll be pleased yer’ve got some Catholics on board.” Seamus, as ever, was the spokesman.
“He was a bit worried about our peculiar way of long-distance travel, so we brought him back slowly via Guéthary and showed him around there first. Afterwards he had a brief session at the Manor too”
“More of this Spirit stuff is it?”
“Yes … John knew he was coming, didn’t he?”
“Not really! He knew he had ter be here and that something special was about ter happen – least that’s what he was explaining when yer five arrived.”
“Estéban has a Saint George translation medallion, so he hears what we say in Spanish and we hear what he says in English. He may ask you to touch it, it helps the process,” Draco explained to those who did not know. He also showed them one of the saint’s medallions that the seers wore.
“That sounds interesting:” Hermione’s ears pricked up: “I meant to ask Ronnie if he’d let me examine it, so maybe one of yours will do instead.”
Most of the members mock-groaned before the normal at-table banter took over. In the end, faced with the seers’ reluctance, Hermione agreed to borrow a spare one from the Spanish elves.
~~~ SUNDAY 5TH JUNE ~~~
As usual Saint Godric’s church was crowded; with the chancel stalls containing the professorial staff and some Wizengamot Fellows in the Godric’s balcony, the two transept balconies full of students, the rear balcony containing the musicians and there were some Dumbledorians supplementing the congregation in the main body of the church.
As they were robing, the two priests could hear the pre-service music.
“Do all your English churches have such fine musicians, John?”
“Not usually, Estéban. The cathedrals have semi-professional choirs and quite a few of the city parish churches are well served. We had a small choir, but it was the mages who made our music special. It seems that elves and goblins have exceptional talents in that direction. However, much of it is down to Dolores and Hamish and their enthusiasm for the musical arts. And then our resident orchestra is based on four families to be, with them intending that their children become involved.”
“I am really looking forward to this Eucharist; it will be a new way of celebrating for me.”
“Since the Ecumenical Council, both rites are much the same. And with your Saint George translating you’ll fit in quite well, you’ll see.”
Many of the congregation were surprised to see that the procession contained two clergymen. It was Draco’s turn to read the Old Testament lesson; it was about Joshua challenging the Israelites and them affirming that they had no other God.
Lavender was due to read the Epistle but had ceded that privilege to Estéban. From the last chapter of Ephesians, in ringing tones, he bade his listeners to put on all the armour that God supplies – truth, integrity, peacefulness, faith, salvation, and the sword of godly words. All this struck home to the magical listeners especially.
John read the Gospel about the Eucharist being an essential part of a believing Christian’s life. He then preached on the theme of the whole church being united in the regular celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
As was customary the Sunday School came in after the sermon. They, including Teddy, were dressed in cardboard armour with the words of the Epistle painted on each part; Ginevra came in with James in his carry-cot at that time, as did some of the other mothers with babies who had been in the crèche at school listening to the service via a link.
After concelebrating and because John had preached, Estéban pronounced the final prayers; afterwards blessing the congregation with the Latin version Heironimo used for the pilgrims; but making it plural. He stood with John at the door greeting people, as usual. Draco noticed him waving his hand around and realised that meeting so many mages for the first time must have felt like trying to survive a mini electrical storm.
At lunch afterwards Estéban was overwhelmed by all the people wanting to talk to him and buying him drinks. Having guessed that this might happen and with Estéban’s permission, Harry had instructed Richard to use the same system John used for avoiding imbibing too much alcohol.
~~~ BLESSING ~~~
Later in the afternoon Estéban came to see Harry: “I think baby James needs a special blessing, Harry. I suspect that some of your malign opponents are trying to take over his soul. The blessing that John gave him at his baptism is protecting him very well, but it will need reinforcement because of the malign spirits deliberately undermining it and trying to attack him, most likely because he’s your son. Would you mind if John and I created that special blessing for him?”
“If it helps to defeat the evil one, I’m all for it. Will it be a private provision or a public one?”
“We think just family, you four, your parents and guardians and the godparents please.”
“Most of them are here, and Tor’s parents are in London at the moment moored in the yacht haven not too far from Tower Bridge, so we could easily contact them, may we ask Grandmamma as well? She’s the only one of that generation left.”
“Of course. We think that midnight would be the most efficacious time.”
“Fine … I’ll get them organised.”
After Evensong, John took Estéban to Milkwood where they enlivened the usual Sunday ethical debate for the students. After that they returned to the vicarage for supper and from thence to Chantry Cottage where the family had been gathered. Estéban was introduced to them all who, in turn, greeted him cordially.
“I am surprised at my reception, my friends. I thought you might have been more cautious.”
“We have learnt to accept people who are recommended by our special quartet,” explained Grandmamma: “Besides you have that holy feel about you, and I smell roses which, from past experience, I know means a person on the side of the light.”
“So you can smell roses, too, Grandmamma?”
“Yes Ginevra, but only when it’s strong, I’ve had that talent from my childhood. However, we have gathered here for a special purpose; if you wish to discuss the aroma gift further; we can do it at another time. Please continue with the blessing, Fathers.”
“YES DUCHESSA!”
“Will Fawkes be joining in; I’ve never seen him sparkling like this before.” Estéban was looking at the phoenix perched on Harry’s shoulder.
“I’m not surprised; he’s urging us to start the blessing because he wants to take part.”
“Well now – a magical bird – ah … Yes … Then we’d better start before his fire glows anymore.”
Together the two priests set candles in a circle-star pattern around themselves and Ginevra who held James in her arms. Along with a circling Fawkes, Harry was inside the ring too; he had the censer in his hand and continually censed the inside group. The priests acted in unison making the sign of the cross in three places on James’s little body. As with Harry after the attack on the cottage, they used chrism on James’s forehead, lips and chest. Each time pronouncing the Latin words together.
As this happened, the gathering outside the circle became aware of a howling sound and a black mist appeared to flow round the outside of the candlelit ring trying to obtain entrance. To all the Magicals it felt as though there was a storm inside the room, but none of the candles flickered, neither did the smoke from the censer falter. There was a putrid stench which Grandmamma and Astoria could smell; none of the others seemed to be affected by it. It continued for about five minutes until John indicated to Draco and Astoria that they should re-sprinkle the holy water around the outside of the circle. That done, the spirits gave a despairing shriek and departed. Blessing over, the candles were extinguished, and the two parents took a smiling James to bed.
“I thought the wards were strong enough to keep malcontents at bay, Estéban?”
“Corporeal ones, yes; but the spirit world is quite differently ordered. I feel sure that those demons are in league with your father, Draco; but for some reason they are not co-ordinated. I have a theory that each fiend tries ‘one-up-man-ship’ over his compatriots. Whereas we, on the side of the light, try to co-operate.”
“Hmm … Yes … I had seen those sorts of rivalries amongst the death-eaters when I was taken to see Voldie. That’s their vulnerability, isn’t it?”
“Yes … Ours is the preparedness to offer loving trust to all and sundry.”
“But if we don’t trust each other, that would make us as bad as they are.”
“Yes … And it led Our Saviour to the cross, because of it.”
“Did you know that Harry had a beyond death experience, but he was sent back to kill Voldie,” added Astoria.
“Actually! He didn’t kill that monster: he reflected the killing curse that Voldie had made, back at its originator,” corrected Draco.
“I’ve been meaning to talk to Harry about that, but not now; we all need a good night’s sleep.” John looked pensive.
