Chapter 16: Two Weeks

Starting inside Roxy’s mind, the same night of the attack by Harry.

    “No!” clothing ripping, pain, more screams of no, then hot, salty tears. More pain and more crying, and then finally the blissful darkness. I was finally alone for a while, left bruised, cut and broken until the nest time. When one or more of them came back to take me again. All I could do was cry and try to remember better times with my cousin Draco. These memories helped me survive, gave me the strength I needed to escape when the time came. In the meantime I began building my mind walls around the horrid memories, feelings and the faces of my abusers, captors and …….rapist.

   Until that is tonight when all that was hidden and kept secret for all these months, came to light. All because of Harry……..Harry Potter and his jealousy of Ron’s “easy” life. Harry destroyed everything I had done to keep anyone from ever finding out about what had been done to me. Harry who robbed me of my sanity, my pride, my mind, my body, my secrets and my relationships with everyone here.

I can’t handle the stares, the whispered conversations and the knowledge that everyone knows about what happen to me. Funny how that hurts more than anything else. I can kiss my one normal relationship with a guy away now I guess, yet again thanks to Harry. Amazing how everyone seems to believe the Wonder boy and his not knowing what he was doing because he was under the Imperious Curse. So everything’s okay and he gets treated like the victim, because he is after all the Chosen One. I can say good-bye to my new friendships with the twins as well, just when I was getting comfortable with them……with guys as friends. I can say good-bye to all of them, to my new found safety and security……all thanks to Harry.

*In Roxy and the boys old room*

   “Lupin, tell me you don’t seriously believe that” demanded Draco, as Ron and the twins sat on their respective beds listening but each thinking their own thoughts. “Draco I don’t. I believe he’s lying, I also think he was helped since he had that drug on him. Not many people know that it can stop the wolf from coming out. If I could prove it I would--- CRACK!” Lupin finished by punching a whole through the wall. “Lupin?” asked Ron getting up concerned. “I’m fine” answered Lupin turning and looking at him. “Roxy will need help working through what happened here tonight and what has happened to her in the past. She has given up on everything including being able to continue with the relationships she has with everyone here. She will still need you Ron; she will need all of you. It will be difficult and it will be slow work. Ron you say you love Roxy, and I’m sorry but I have to ask do you still love her now. Now that you’ve seen secrets she never wanted anyone to find out, and now that she’s scared of everyone and everything” finished Lupin looking Ron dead in the eyes.

“Yes Lupin I do, I will forever” answered Ron without hesitation. “I promise you that Lupin. I also promise to stick by her and help her as best I can no matter what” he added. “Thank you Ron I know you will” replied Lupin with a small pleased smile. “I promise as well” replied Draco and the twins at the same time. “Good, I had kind of figured as much. School starts in two weeks for all of you and I know Roxy was looking forward to it, even if she couldn’t attend classes, she still would have been able to hang out with you guys and perform her duties as Neville’s guardian. I hope that by the end of these two weeks her trust in you guys will at least be there a bit, because she still has to go” explained Lupin. “I’m going to go see if she will let me come in so I can check on her and maybe get her talking. Good night boys” added Lupin as he left the room. “Goodnight” they mumbled as they settled in to their respective beds to try and sleep, though deep down knowing it was not going to happen with all their anger about what had happened to Roxy that night and what had happened to her to many times at the hands of the Victor Krum and the Six running through their thoughts.

*The Next Day*

   “I’m really sorry boys she still doesn’t want anyone to see her” said Lupin sadly. “I’ll tell her you all asked again. Hopefully soon she will say yes if not……then I don’t know. But keep trying it’s all any of us can do” he added.

“Okay, thank you Lupin” replied Draco. “Yea thanks” mumbled the twins as they sank back to the floor resuming their wait to see Roxy.

   “Lupin!” called Ron from down the hall. “Wait!” “Yes Ron?” asked lupin as he waited for him near before he walked back into the room to see Roxy. “Will you please give this to her for me?” Ron asked handing Lupin an envelope. “Yes, Ron I will” answered Lupin with a smile. “Thank you Lupin” answered Ron as he joined his brothers on the floor in the hallway. “No problem” said Lupin as he left the hall with the note.

*A few moments later*

“Lupin who was it” asked Roxy quietly and a bit hesitantly. “Roxy, it was them again dear” said Lupin with a small laugh “and they’re not leaving that hall until they see you” he added looking into her eyes registering the sadness there. “This is for you” he said handing her the envelope form Ron. “Oh, ummm ok” responded Roxy as she took it from his hands. “I’ll give you a few moments to read it then I’ll be back with some tea okay?” said Lupin waiting on her reply before exiting the room. “Yes, that will be fine” answered Roxy as she opened the envelope and started to read in shock.

*The Note*

I love you Roxy. I want to start with that so that you are reminded and will be fully aware as you read the rest of this. I understand why you don’t want to see us and please believe me when I say I don’t want to make you feel guilty but this hurts us. Roxy, baby please let us help you, tell us what you need us to do, what you want me to do…..this does not change who you are to me, nor how I see you. Well it actually makes me see you as stronger and more amazing then I ever knew. So please Roxy let us see you. Lupin can stay there and it can only be a few minutes. Hell we will even sit on the floor far away from you if that’s what would make you comfortable. We just need to see you as reassurance that our favorite girl is still there. I need to see you so that I can tell you how amazing and beautiful you are, as well as how much I love you in person. So please, let us help you. We feel useless, and I’m sure you’re getting tired of only seeing lupin and my mum (laughing). But as the same time I don’t want you to feel pushed, so I’ll be content with sitting out here until you are fully and truly ready no matter how long it takes for you to get there. Love you.

*End of Note*

    “Roxy, why are you crying? Are you okay” Lupin asked as he walked back into the room with her tea, his face a mass of worry and concern. “Yea” sniffed Roxy as she used her blanket to dry the tears. “Then why are you crying” asked Lupin again though more confused now. “Because he still loves me…….and wants to be with me, even after all this has come out. And the rest still like me too” she answered with a slight smile staring down at the note in her hands.

Hearing this and seeing the peace it brought Roxy to have read this Lupin couldn’t help but grin broadly. “What?” asked Roxy as she looked up at him. “It’s just the first time you’ve smiled since” answered Lupin. “Oh. It feels good to smile Lupin” answered Roxy as his expression changed into one of thoughtfulness. “Do you think…..Do you think it’s too early for them to see me?” asked Roxy her eyes carefully noting his reaction. “I think that up to you. Memories could arise back form the past and form last night. But then again, I can tell you this, that they would do anything to make you more comfortable and to put you back at ease by any means necessary. I can also guarantee that none of them would do anything to you like Harry, Victor and The Six did. Let alone even think about it” Lupin replied, then adding “And if you want things before school year starts and want to go to Diagon Alley, that they would watch over you and protect you from anything at any cost. Also starting early means you will be more trusting of them when you get to Hogwarts” finished Lupin.

   “Hmmm, you’re right Lupin. I just wish my mind could see it that simply” Roxy pauses thinking. “Okay that sounded weird” she added laughing softly a bit. “Well” resumed Lupin chuckling as well “just a bit, but I understand your meaning. So why not see Draco first, that’s way your mind won’t be on full alert since he is your cousin”.

   “Yes I think that would work. No, I know it will, he has never hurt me and he never will” said Roxy setting her face in determination. “I’ll go get him then” said lupin turning to leave. “Wait Lupin” called Roxy. “Yes” he called back. “Please tell Ron I love him” answered Roxy.

*A Few Minutes Later*

Lupin enters the hallway looking very angry.

   “I have no idea what you put in that note Ron but I will not have you making her.” Started Lupin before Ron interrupted him in concern. “My note upset her? Gawd I’m sorry, I was only trying to assure her and comfort her” explained Ron. “Happy” finished Lupin looking at Ron with a laugh at the look on his face. “Happy? But you were so angry, I thought cause you said. Dang Lupin that was wrong scaring me like that” finished Ron laughing which caused the other to laugh more.

    “Okay. Ron seriously that note it did exactly what I think you wanted it to do. She’s thought it over and she thinks she is ready to see you guys. Though she wants to see Draco first.” Said Lupin. “That’s great! I’m glad I was able to help” replied Ron with excitement. “I think you did more than just help Ron, by the way she wanted me to tell you that she loves you” replied Lupin. “Thanks Lupin” replied Ron. “Oh Draco will you tell” started Ron “Yeah yeah yeah I know” interrupted Draco with a small chuckle. “I’ll go talk to her now and come get you guys when she is ready added Draco as he began to open the door.

“Wait!” yelled Neville as he ran down the hall towards them. “I, I, I have something for her, do you ummm think she would mind if I came in with you to give it to her?” “I don’t know” replied Draco looking to Lupin. “She’ll be surprised but I think it will be okay as long as you are careful. If she gets uncomfortable just ask if she wants you to leave and make yourself as small as possible” replied Lupin. “Okay, thank you Lupin” Replied Neville. “Let’s go Draco” he added.

                                *At the door to Roxy’s Room*

(Knock, Knock, Knock) “Roxy it’s me and Neville. He has something for you and Lupin thought it would be okay if he came as well” called Draco as they waited. “TH- That’s fine, you may come in” Roxy called back with hesitation. “You sure Rox?” he asked as they entered the room slowly. “Yeah, I’m sure it’s just difficult having all this out in the open. Not to mention what everyone saw last night with Har- Harry” Roxy replied her voice barely a whisper at the end. “Rox, don’t dwell on it. Nothing like that will ever happen to you again. I’ll die before t happens, do you understand me?” replied Draco as he sat done in the chair beside her bed. “I’m trying……you promise?” replied Roxy quietly her eyes downcast. “Yes, and that’s all we can ask of you. Your gonna be just fine and we all want to help you, all you have to do is tell us what to do” answered Draco cupping her chin gently and lifting her gaze to his.

   “Thank you Draco, I know you guys will” replied Roxy with a genuine smile. “oh and before I forget I have a message from Ron for you. He says he loves ya” said Draco. “ Awww, thank you Drakey for doing that” replied Roxy her smile brightening even more. “No problem cuz” replied Draco with a small laugh.

   “So what do you have for our Roxy here Neville” asked Draco looking at Neville who still stood nervously by the door. “OH, ummm it’s just something I made. Well umm I’m really sorry I just don’t know what to say or what not to say or what to do or not do” explained Neville. “Neville” replied Roxy with concern. “Yes” replied Neville looking at her. “Why don’t you sit down and make yourself comfortable” asked Roxy. “Sure, I can do that” replied Neville as he slid down to sit on the floor. “No, over here by Draco on the foot of the bed” ordered Roxy gesturing to the spot with her hand. “Okay” replied Neville as he got up and slowly walked over and sat down. “Thank you. Now I have something to ask you but only after you show me what it is you have so sweetly made for me.” Said Roxy smiling encouragingly at him. “Okay” said Neville starting to relax. “I like to draw and well I made some drawings of you, and you with the guys. I also have some of you in wolf form” explained Neville as he handed the box to Roxy. Roxy opened the box looking at each drawing before handing it to Draco so that he could look as well.

   “I hope you don’t mind Roxy…..it’s…..it’s just that you have a lot of personality, which makes you really interesting to draw” said Neville as he watched her. “I don’t mind. I really like them you’re a very good artist Neville. Please feel free to draw me anytime. Truly thank you for these they mean a lot to me” replied Roxy with a smile of happiness. “Oh, ummm it was” started Neville blushing slightly at her words. Then before he knew what was happening or what to do she flung her arms around him in a hug.

   “Neville, you can hug me back, I promise I won’t freak out” stated Roxy. “Okay, I’m just going to hug you not going to do anything else” spoke Neville as he slowly embraced her back. “Neville, will you help me fill more at ease with the rest of the guys so I can still go to Hogwarts with you all in a couple weeks?” questioned Roxy as she released him and leaned back into her pillows. “Yes I will, when do you want to start?” asked Neville. “Now” replied Roxy smiling at his agreement.

Over the next few days Neville helped Roxy with her confidence and fear level when placed in certain situations, preparing her for not only going to Hogwarts with them but also for the before school trip to Diagon Alley.
