Title: What I Did During The Summer

Rating: R

Summary: Hermione is due to start her seventh year at
Hogwarts. However, she has a little surprise for Harry and Ron, one that will
test their friendship.

Chapter 15: Broken Hearts

�� The next
morning the owls arrived carrying the usual amount of mail, including something
else that Neville had forgotten from his gran. Hedwig appeared with a note from
Professor Dumbledore and another owl arrived with a red envelope. It was
addressed to Harry and both he and Ron both stared at it.

�� What did you do to
get a Howler?� Ginny asked.

�� I don�t know,�
Harry said.

�� He ripped
open the Howler and Hermione�s voice filled the room, magnified a hundred
times.

�� HOW DARE YOU
INSULT ME WHEN I�M NOT AROUND. YOU ABSOLUTLY DISGIST
ME AND I CAN�T BELIEVE THAT WE WERE ONCE FRIENDS. YOU CAN TAKE YOUR OPINION OF
MY MARRIAGE AND SHOVE IT WHERE THE SUN WILL NEVER SHINE. SEVERUS WAS RIGHT
ABOUT YOU. YOU HAVE SUCH A FAT HEAD THAT I�M SURPRISED THAT YOU�RE BROOM CAN
LIFT OFF THE GROUND. GROW UP AND GET A LIFE.�

And then the envelope burst into flames and became a small
puddle of ash.

�� What was that all
about?� asked a second year.

Harry said nothing.

�� A few
minutes later, just as chatter started again, another owl, black, landed on the
table. It had another envelope for Harry and when Harry opened it something
stung his hand. The strong smell of petrol filled the Gryffindor table. Harry
hissed in pain and they knew that it was undiluted Bubotuber puss.

� ��You better get to the hospital wing, Harry,�
Ron said.

Harry bolted.

� �I wonder who sent it.�
Ginny asked.

Ron carefully pulled the note out and saw Snape�s scrawl.

Dear Potter,

I hope you like my little present. That is for insulting my
wife.

Professor Snape

�� What did you do to
the Snape�s?� Neville asked.

�� Nothing,� Ron
lied.

Neville gave him a strange look, like he didn�t believe him.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

�� Oh, this is going
to be good,� Hermione said, looking at the clock.

She knew that Harry should have gotten her Howler and the
little present from her husband.

�� Oh the idea that
Potter is in pain is sweet revenge for me,� Severus said, looking over a potion
that he made to help Remus out.

Hermione grinned.

�� Oh yes, it is,�
she said.

�� Remus came
by to visit the Snape�s after Hermione had informed him where Severus was
hiding. He reported that Harry had been in the hospital wing all morning and
had missed his Advance Charms class.

�� Oh, this is
brilliant,� Hermione said, repeating what Ron had said a few years ago. �Oh
great Potter thinks that he can say whatever he wants and get away with it.�

Remus looked at her.

�� Hermione, Severus
could of hurt Harry.�

Hermione glared at her and Severus at once sided with
Hermione.

�� Remus, Potter is
turning out just like his father,� Severus said. �This stupid war might be over
and he might have rid us of Tom Riddle, but he has forgotten about that. He insults
my wife and me and you think that I don�t have the right to get back at him.
This is Snape pride, not Pureblood pride.�

Remus sighed.

�� Alright, I agree
that you had the right to teach Harry a lesson, but next time, no pus.�

Severus grinned.

�� I promise, no
puss,� Severus vowed.

Of course he had something else planned for Harry that would
really bring the point home.

�� The next
morning Severus left to take care of some shop business and Hermione went to
Diagon Alley to work at the Weasley�s shop. While Severus was busy putting some
bottles up Tonks knocked on the door. Severus walked over and let her in. As
soon as she entered he saw that she wasn�t alone. Kingsley Shacklebolt was with
her.

�� Wotcher, Severus,�
Tonks said in her usual greeting.

�� Um, hello, Tonks,�
Severus said. �What are you both doing here?�

Tonks grinned at him.

�� I just wanted to
let you know that I and Kingsley got married,� Tonks said. �And
were heading off to France for two weeks.�

Severus stared at her, shocked. He finally pulled himself
out of his temporary lose of coldness.

�� When did this
happen?� Severus asked.

�� A few days ago,�
Tonks said. �Well, we better go. Tell Remus that I said hello.�

And they were both gone. Severus shook his head, not really
looking forward to Remus coming.

Next chapter: Severus tells Remus what happened, Hermione is
told about what happened, Dumbledore hears about what happened, and Neville
writes to Hermione.
