Title: What I Did During The Summer

Rating: R

Summary: Hermione is due to start her seventh year at
Hogwarts. However, she has a little surprise for Harry and Ron, one that will
test their friendship.

Chapter 16: All Around Confusion

�� Remus
arrived to help Severus out an hour after the Kingsley�s left. Severus felt bad
for Remus, since he had been hoping to get with Nymph again. Severus took Remus
out to lunch hoping to break the news before he found out by way of the Daily
Prophet or worse by one of Nymph�s friends. He ordered for them and while they
waited Severus decided that this would be a good time to tell Remus the truth.

�� Nymph came to
visit,� Severus said.

Remus looked at him, shock written all over his face.

�� Really, what did
she say?�

�� Um, well, she said
that she�s going to France,�
he said, hoping that Remus wouldn�t sense that he felt uneasy.

�� Probably an Auror
job,� Remus muttered.

Severus sighed and shook his head. Remus saw it.

�� What does that
mean?� he asked.

�� Um, well, she�s
not going to France
as part of an Auror mission,� Severus said and then he closed his eyes. �She
got married to Kingsley.�

He waited for the explosion and he wasn�t disappointed.

�� SHE MARRIED
KINGSLEY SHACKLEBOLT.�

Severus nodded and Remus left the restaurant.

�� Do you want your
food to go?� the waiter asked.

�� Ya,� Severus
muttered.

�� Can you believe
that she chose Kingsley over me,� Remus yelled at Dumbledore. �Like what does
he have that I don�t?�

Dumbledore wanted to say that he was human, but decided
against it.

�� So where did they
go?�

�� France, stinking
France,� Remus snapped. �I wanted to take her to France,
but no Kingsley is taking her to France.�

He sighed and sat down.

�� What are you going
to do now?�

�� I don�t know,� he
wined. �One thing for sure, I�m never going to marry, ever. I�m doomed to never
having anyone in my life.�

And he cried while Dumbledore shook his head.

�� I can�t believe
that happened,� Hermione said when Severus told her what had happened. �Poor Remus.�

�� Poor me,� Severus clarified.
�I�m the one that had to hear him rant and rave about how much he wanted to be
with Nymph and now I�ve got to listen to him sulking. I swear she�s more
trouble then a sack of Death Eaters.�

Hermione shook her head.

�� So where did he
go?�

�� Who knows,
probably crying on Albus�s shoulders,� Severus said. �So, do you want Remus
food?�

Hermione sighed and nodded.

�� Later that
afternoon a letter arrived for her, from Neville. She had been surprised to get
a letter from her former friend and even more surprised that he had said what
he said.

Dear Hermione,

What in the world happened to cause you to send Harry a
Howler? Ron said that nothing happened, but I don�t believe him. Please let me
know soon.

Neville.

PS! Harry got Snape�s note.

Hermione took out a sheet of parchment and wrote back to
Neville. She gave it to her owl and Morgana flew out the window and back to
Hogwarts.
