Pansy looked through the photo album. Colin Creevey sent it over about a month after the ceremony. It was filled to the hilt with every shot he took. It ended up being a collection of close to a hundred photographs, and Pansy cherished every one.
Her favorite was one taken right before they walked to the archway. Pansy was looking at him, he was looking at her. She said she loved him right before they walked together to get married.
It had been Ron’s idea. He said, that one of them wasn’t going to marry the other, that they were getting married together, so they would walk together. It was a perfect idea.
Colin also took pictures of the guests. Images of her classmates smiled and waved back at her. She came across Draco and his date, smiling to each other. Draco was her closest friend as Hogwarts. That’s why she had gone to him for her first time. She realized now that without passion, it wouldn’t have worked. She smiled back at the image. The girl beside him looked happy.
As she continued to leaf through the album she found one Colin had taken of the parents table. It was a well set up shot. Their fathers each with an arm around their wives. Their mothers leaning into the men they married. While she knew they were posed, they looked nice none the less. Pansy asked Colin to make a copy for each of their parents and send it to them.
She hadn’t heard back from her parents, but she knew she would only hear from them at holidays and such. Her parents were firm believers in forming your own life when you left home. They each had done it. Her father had found out what he needed to. He saw his daughter get married and he was letting her live her life. If she had problems she knew she could go to them, but they weren’t the interfering type. They would wait for invitations.
She glanced out the window and watched as Ron tested out a new design. He was a perfectionist and would do nothing with the model until it was perfect.
She smiled to herself. She thought back to the day when she watched him on the pitch. She was only looking for gratification, but she found so much more with Ron. She found her other half.
She stood up and walked to the door, half hiding behind the frame. He was kneeling on the ground, making an adjustment to the attachments. “You can come out now Pansy.” He called over his shoulder. She laughed and walked out. “What are you doing woman?” he asked.
“I like watching you fly.” She admitted.
“I know.” He gave her a wink. She continued to watch him as he flew about. She sat on the grass kept her eyes on him. She had only been married for five months but she felt married for longer.
Ron was everything she had dreamed of. Caring. Loving. Supportive. Compassionate. Generous.
He flew down and landed, then held out a hand to her. As they walked arm in arm back to the house, Pansy asked, “Ron, do think we could change one of the guest rooms?”
“Into what?” He thought she might want a studio, she spent a lot of time painting.
“A nursery.” Ron froze, then looked down at her with wide eyes.
“You’re…..? He stammered.
“I know we said we’d wait but…well….” She stopped when he picked her up and swung her around. Her laughter joined his. Ron was right. Everything worked out in the end.
