Last Time:
Once the boys were busy he texted Severus to tell him the news and give him a heads up on a possible basilisk extraction. He knew one thing for sure … Dumbledore wasn't going to like that …

"Lucius … I think this is what Severus wanted us to look at." Narcissa said gravely.
The Malfoy Lord looked at his son's textbook from the previous year that his wife handed him, "I'm not seeing the- … these symptoms ... this can't be unless ..." Lucius stared at the words blanky, trying to process the meaning behind them.
The conclusion he reached prompted him to take the book and head for the floo. He barely heard Narcissa call after him as green flames enveloped him taking him away. Without fully realizing it, he appeared in the floo in Dumbledore's office, but the old fool didn't seem there so he didn't care about his intrusive action. Lucius stormed out of the office and through the halls. After startling a few students who didn't expect him to quickly stride passed them, he found Severus' honeymoon suite.
"Severus!" Lucius yelled as he pounded on the door.
It took several minutes of constant pounding, but a shirtless and tired Severus did eventually open the door, "What's wrong-"
"Slow increase in unpredictability, mental decline, drastic physical changes … His soul was broken wasn't it." Lucius snapped, tossing the book to the floor as his anger rose, "That book said there's a treatment. He's alive-"
Severus covered his friend's mouth before anything else could be said, "I know how you feel, Lucius. Dammit, we both went through that, but he is not responsible … read the book more carefully before snapping at me and for the love of Merlin don't ever bring this up here of all places. Leave through my floo." Severus snapped before dragging Lucius into his suite and slamming the the door so fast Lucius couldn't respond and neither could someone else.
If you were standing there watching the swift exchange you might've noticed something off. It was a sound. An odd, wince inducing, crunch of a sound to be exact and it came right when Severus slammed his door shut. Also, if you looked down you'd see blood droplets suddenly appear on the floor seemly out of nowhere. In fact, a trail of blood drops was slowly materializing out of nothing!
Or was it? Listening carefully will reveal the sound of footsteps accompanying the appearance of each droplet. The blood drops and footsteps made a path that wound its way through the halls at the speed of someone running and all the way back to a certain statue that was out of the way revealing the stairs because Lucius left it that way. Some angry mutters were heard as the footsteps padded up the steps and the door to Dumbledore's office swung open.
Once the door slammed shut and a flutter of fabric shimmered in the air before falling to the floor revealing it to be a cloak that was hiding Dumbledore with a bloody nose. "I need to shut down the floo. People can't go wandering around my office!" Dumbledore tried to say, but it was a bit muddled with the broken nose and constant blood flowing.
The headmaster dropped the cloak and whimpered as he pointed his wand at his busted nose. He cast a healing spell on his swelling bruised nose resulting in a sharp pop as the nose snapped back in place. After taking a moment to collect himself and casting a cleaning spell that will affect all the blood he bled even in the halls he glared at the fireplace.
"I'll just deactivate it. It's not like I need it." Dumbledore said as he approached the fireplace intent on stopping people from simply walking into his office. He knew he could easily apparate away since he was the headmaster and the only one allowed to so really he had no need for it.
However, it seems the castle had other plans. As the old wizard closed in on the fireplace it shivered. Dumbledore frozen startled by the motion, but then moved again. He was only inches away when the entire fireplace sank into the stone wall. The baffled headmaster looked at the wall, not sure what to make of it. A smug part of his mind immediately thought the castle was back to obeying him and he backed away. Once he did that, though, the fireplace melted back out of the wall.
Dumbledore stared at the fireplace in disbelief, (Hogwarts isn't letting me deactivate the floo … it's not under my control.) He thought as he realized he lost the biggest ally he's had and he was now living in the enemy's very stomach. The terrifying thought made the wizard stumble back a few paces as his mind reeled. As if to mock him further, green flames shot out of the fireplace and the minister walked out.
"Ah! Headmaster Dumbledore, is this a good time? We need to talk." Cornelius stated with a deceitfully kind smile as he politely bent down and picked up the cloak.
"I'm afraid it's not a good time." Dumbledore said as he took the cloak from the minister while trying to stay calm.
Cornelius took note of the way the cloak was snatched from him, but pretended not to notice, "That's quite alright. I'm merely here to warn you of the extraction and I'll leave you to it."
"Extraction?" Dumbledore asked, but no sooner did the word leave his mouth did a group of 11 people floo into the room. "What's going on?!" He gasped feeling his control of the situation fizzle away.
The robed woman with a badge and gray goggles stepped up, "I'm Jasmine Fawn. I lead the Extraction Unit. Minister Fudge informed us that a basilisk may be on the grounds and we came to remove it safely. If you could order the children to stay back we'd appreciate it."
"A basilisk? I don't know what you mean. Where would a basilisk even hide?" Dumbledore asked, desperately hoping to not have another secret exposed.
The minister grinned and pulled out a map, "In light of this potentially serious report, I asked Mr. White to give us access to Hogwarts' blueprints. There's the Chamber of Secrets that seems the most likely especially considering the rumors from the past. No worries, we'll handle it." He said, secretly enjoying the slightly stunned look on the headmaster's face.
"Great …" Dumbledore said breathlessly as his brain was spinning. He barely noticed the team and the Minister leave his office he was so overwhelmed. It took him several minutes to finally comprehend what just happened and decided the best course of action was to throw a damn tantrum.
Fawkes flew up in a panic just before a blasting curse destroyed her perch and watched as chaos ensued. The phoenix actually rolled its eyes as the tantrum continued. It was, strangely, not surprising the feathered creature, though, as if this happened frequently. However, Fawkes noticed the shocked people in the paintings were trying to evacuate their frames. This may have been normal for poor Fawkes, but this was probably the first time anyone else saw the wizard's temper.
Several rage filled moments ticked by before the wizard finally showed signs of calming. Once he did though, he realized something. Technically he realized the someone who revealed the basilisk.
Those words Lucius managed to utter before being dragged into Severus' living quarters echoed in his mind. There was something about insanity and mental decline. There was something else about a broken soul and that fact pointed to only one person. The very person who he wanted Harry Potter to kill. The wizard who knew too much should have a shattered, but apparently was treated and alive ...
"It was him." Dumbledore growled.

Poor Tom started tossing and turning in the middle of the night. No matter what he did he couldn't fall asleep. There was this strange feeling of something that he forgot and it must've been about that last memory. He tried not thinking about it, but everytime he closed his eyes he saw that foggy memory flash across his mind. It was as if something was begging to be remembered.
"There's someone I'm miss-" Tom's eyes widened at the slip. For a while he's been thinking along the lines of a 'thing', but maybe the thing he was missing from his memory was actually a person! But who? Who would have been there when that girl died from Persephone's deadly eyes? With a great amount of effort he tried to remember, but a wave of pain in his skull flared up making him whimper and curl up on the bed.
"Tom?" Tom felt a cool hand caress his warm face and cracked his eyes open. There was Julian standing over him looking concerned, "Are you ok?"
"I need to remember someone, but I can't." Tom whimpered in pain as another flash of pain radiated through his head. The sensation of weight on the bed startled him, "Julian?" He gasped when he realized that Julian had climbed into bed with him.
Julian smiled and wrapped his arms around Tom, "You need to rest." He said as a tiny Tanzanite curled up in the blonde locks.
Tom wanted to continue searching for that answer that eluded him, but the warmth and gentle fingers stroking his hair were so relaxing. Finally, Tom's eyes fluttered closed and he fell into a deep sleep.

Moaning Myrtle huffed as her bathroom was swarmed by people she knew weren't students, "Why are you all in my bathroom?"
"The mystery meat." One robed guy snickered getting an amused, but scolding look from Jasmine.
"We're looking for a passage in order to capture a creature. We'll leave your space once we're done. Sorry for the intrusion." Jasmine said genuinely apologetic for disturbing the spirit especially one of a young girl. "May I ask you name and how you died?" She asked trying to make small talk to keep the spirit calm as her team investigated the room.
"Myrtle Warren." The ghost said cheerfully, but then seemed to drift deep into thought, "I'm not sure how I died. I was over by the sinks waiting for someone and it moved. Next think i saw was a big golden eye and felt a pain in my back. Then I was dead."
"Oh my." Jasmine said, glancing at her team silently telling them to search the sinks.
Cornelius frowned, "Who were you waiting for, Myrtle?" He asked curiously.
There was nothing her file about her waiting for someone and he should know. During his own investigation on Dumbledore, he read up all Hogwarts deaths while Dumbledore was there. Myrtle was a booksmart girl at about 16 who was considered a bit of an outcast. In other words, she was the only death at Hogwarts that matched what he suspected was Dumbledore's type. In fact, he thought she could've been the first in a slew of murders, but he had to drop it as a lead years ago despite the similarity to the other murders. After all, he knew Dumbledore was too smart to kill a student in his school. This curious new information got him thinking on why that information was left out? Not that it mattered for this confirmed one thing. Dumbledore didn't kill Myrtle.
Myrtle giggled, "Not telling!" She said in a sing song voice before flying happily into a toilet making water splash everywhere.
"Found the mark!" A robed witch announced.
Jasmine nodded before looking at the Minister, "I will have to ask you to stay back, Minister. We will try to coax the basilisk out this way to get out of the wards around Hogwarts so we can apparate it away."
"I understand. I'll summon some Aurors to keep the children out of the way." The Minister said and watched Jasmine hiss parseltongue into a snake like mark on a faucet. After the sinks moved revealing a tunnel that the team disappeared into Cornelius did as promised and brought a team in of his own. Of course, Dumbledore stepped in playing the ever loving Headmaster, but all of those reinforcements were no match for the curiosity of the hundreds of students. All the students tried to find various places to see the massive blindfolded snake being lead across the castle.
A set of students did manage to sneak around the edge of the Forbidden Forest to see the basilisk up close and the Minister noticed too late. The basilisk smelled the students, hissed furiously and lunged faster than the Extraction Unit could even attempt to secure the powerful creature ...

Severus sighed before glaring at Lucius, "You're lucky no one was in that hallway."
"Is he alive?" Lucius insisted, the feeling of panic welling up in his chest. However, before he could say anything further the textbook flew at hm hitting him in the gut knocking the wind out of him.
"Was that necessary, Sophia?" Severus commented calmly and went over to kiss the woman wearing only his shirt as Lucius recovered. Silvia came out of their room a second later to see what was going on.
The witch smiled sadly at Lucius, "I know what you and Severus went through, but look. Does Severus seem frightened as if everything will happen again?" She asked, but Lucius still see frazzled. "I cursed that textbook so there's only two ways to get your hands to let go of it. Either you read everything slowly and carefully or you try to break the curse and the book slides out along with most of your flesh."
Lucius was stunned by the threat, "You don't know what-"
"No, Lucius. You need to understand the full situation. Come back in a couple days and for Merlin's sake use my floo instead of strutting through Dumbledore's office!" Severus snapped pointing at the floo. With no choice, Lucius left through the floo with Severus' help handling the powder.
"He needs some time." Sophia said as her husband went towards the door and glanced in the hallway most likely to make sure no one followed the Malfoy. "Everything ok?" She asked, when Severus visibly stiffened.
Severus glared at the sight of blood on the ground. Those drops disappeared before he could collect a sample most likely due to a cleaning spell, which concerned him. Who was listening and what did they hear?
