Christmas 1

Christmas morning dawned bright and clear at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Too damn bright and far too early in Severus Snape's considered opinion. It was eight o'clock in the morning, a time at which he had planned to still be asleep but apparently some evil monster had come along in the middle of the night and turned his lovers into five-year olds! Severus reluctantly got out of bed, if only to make the bouncing stop, and pulled on a black silk dressing gown. "And don't think it hasn't occurred to me that you've probably been encouraging her! She normally manages to restrain herself for at least another hour before forcing me to get up!"

Remus just grinned and tried to look innocent. "Me? Why would I do something like that?"

"Because deep down you're as much of a baby about Christmas as she is! Don't think I haven't seen you getting more and more excited the closer it got!" he growled and then yelped in pain as Bella smacked him on the back of the head.

*Tactful, lover boy, real tactful! Remus has every right to get excited about Christmas. Last year was probably the first time he didn't have to spend it on his own since James and Lily died. Sev looked guilty at that. *Damn, I didn't even think about that. Make the tea for me while I apologise? *

She glared at him again for good measure and then stomped off to brew the tea. Sev sank into one of the armchairs in front of the fire and held his arms out to Remus. "Sit with me while Bella makes the tea?" he invited.

Remus sat on Sev's lap and snuggled close, causing Sev's dressing gown to come undone. He wrapped his arms around Remus and pulled his head down for a gentle kiss.

"Happy Christmas, Remy," he whispered against his lips. Pulling back slightly he smiled at his lover. "I'm sorry, I didn't intend to be mean, but I haven't really woken up properly yet. Don't let my grumpiness dent your Christmas spirit. Merlin knows, Bella never does," he said with a wry grin.

"She is very bouncy this morning isn't she? I know she used to act this way when we were at school but I rather thought she'd have grown out of it by now," he said with a fond smile. "I don't want you to be anything other than your normal grouchy self unless you want to be, love, but let's see if I can't share some of my 'Christmas Spirit' with you."

Severus had a second to notice the mischievous twinkle in his lover's eye before Remus slipped off his lap and on to the floor in front of him. "Remus," Severus gasped, leaning his head against the back of the chair and closing his eyes.
