“Lupin?” inquired Snape with less sneer than his normal. “What is that?”
Lupin glanced up at the buttoned up Severus who had just meandered into the kitchen.
“Tonks brought it,” was the only answer he managed to muster as he nudged the oblong green striped thing with his finger.
“Some sort of dragon egg?” Snape continued as he mixed his coffee.
“No, she said we’re supposed to eat it,” Lupin replied doubtfully.
“Eat it!” Snape nearly choked on his coffee.
“Says it’s a watermelon,” Lupin cast a baleful glance at Snape.
“You first, Lupin,” he challenged with an evil grin.
