Chapter 19
“Bloody hell, this is busy!” Bill muttered to Charlie after they made it in the front door using the pass Sirius had given them.
Not only was there a line outside waiting to get in, something he hadn’t seen before, but the path to the club was jammed. They had been flagged through ahead of everyone because of the pass, something which caused dirty looks from plenty. At the door to the club itself, they had a different color wristband put on than they usually did, something both assumed meant they were staff of some sort.Once in the club, it seemed like it was jammed wall to wall with people. There were a few extra staff they hadn’t seen before as well. The one by the door snagged them by their elbows then muscled his way towards the bar where they could see Harry seated with Sirius.“Is this normal?” Bill asked the man guiding them along, Edgar by his name tag.“For the nights we host some special events, like the tattooing, yes,” Edgar told them, voice raised so they could hear him over the din. “It’s even worse if there’s another kind of event or around the full moon.”“It’s busier than last week when I came in,” Charlie told his brother, eyes all over, taking everything in though trying to avoid the place set up in the back for the tattooing and piercing. A quick glance was enough to tell him you could see everything going on and he sure didn’t want to bear witness to some of it.“Now I can understand why they wanted extra help,” Bill muttered to his brother, shaking his head as they almost had to fight their way through the crowd. A glance at the other side told him it was going strong as well with plenty of strange—whatever going on.“And this is early,” Edgar told them. He was already filled in on the fact the two were probably going to take on the floorwalker job, so he didn’t have a problem giving them a heads up about what was going on. “Up until about midnight, it keeps growing worse. Then it settles and starts to thin out some, though the booze that flows makes it to where some act the fool.”“Always the way,” Charlie snorted, shaking his head, relieved they finally made it to the bar as the crowd pressing on him like it had made him feel a tad claustrophobic.“Thanks, Edgar,” Sirius told the man with a nod while he sent for their supper. When the doorman nodded back then headed towards his post again, he chuckled at the two taking their seat by Harry and said, grinning, “Welcome to insanity central!”“You’re not joking there,” Bill laughed, taking his normal drink from the barback and his food. “Not sure what I expected, but this is definitely plenty crowded with lots to keep an eye on.” As they were seated where you could see the whole bar side of the club, he was already scanning around to keep an eye out for problems as he started to eat.“While the night we have the tattoo artists in is generally a busy one, this is a tad worse than normal,” Harry told them as he dug into his meal. “They have a special running, something making whatever cheaper than normal,” he then explained. “It’s even a better deal than what they run in their shop. They’re breaking in someone new, so it’s cheaper to start giving him a client base.”“Now I understand,” Charlie nodded, tucking in to his delicious food.“I’m going to stick with you through part of it, but they need me to help with floorwalking and crowd control,” Sirius told the two. “When I leave, I’d appreciate it if one of you plants yourself on one side of Harry and the other do the same with the opposite side. We don’t have him doing the floorwalking as most wouldn’t listen to him. He can go over more with you this way and point out what to watch for as you’ll probably get a damned good visual of several instances of what we don’t tolerate with as crowded as this is.”“We can, easily,” Bill nodded.“Harry’s safe with us, like always,” Charlie assured him.“The guys will keep the best eye on you lot as they can, the same with me, but if someone goes overboard, something Harry will tell you, send a signal I’ll teach you here right quick and I’ll come to handle it,” Sirius told him, eating quickly. As it was busy, he couldn’t spend too much time on the meal and had to work. Harry would do his part with keeping an eye out and sending a signal about whatever, but he needed his presence known and for them to see him moving around to help keep it under control.“We’ll manage,” Bill assured him. “Nothing to worry about. We can look plenty intimidating when we need to. It’s something we’ll make sure to turn on.”“Good,” Sirius chuckled. “You’ll need it, trust me. Even I don’t deter some of these fools, nor do the guys on the other side. Just don’t engage too much, other than verbally, and I’ll handle it or one of the other’s will. After tonight, Harry will start walking you through how to handle some of this. We just wanted you to observe before he does.”“Good way to go about it,” Charlie admitted with a nod, pleased to have a little idea of how to do whatever and seeing how the others went about it.“Right, let me walk you through what you need, then we’ll finish eating before I dive in,” Sirius told him, pulling out the sheet with the standard spell on it. They’d catch on quickly enough then they could press on. He couldn’t spend much time just sitting here, but wanted to cover this and some other areas before he had to dive in.
After Sirius left to help the staff, Harry cast a charm around the three of them to cut the noise level down. It didn’t do away with it, but took it down to a level where they could hear and talk normally. Once more jumping in to what the two needed to know about so much, he pressed on from the night before, walking them through more of the do’s and don’ts when it came to what was allowed and the why behind it.
As the music played and plenty were dancing or engaging in whatever on the other side while others mingled or talked, Harry kept half an eye out on the club while going over the basic points of some areas. They were finally delving into the basics of BDSM, M/s, D/s and some of the other areas. As far as Bill and Charlie were concerned, the club being busy actually helped since Harry could point out various people and explain the relationship then how it differed. It was much better than just talking it over. By the time he finished, they had a far better grasp than they did before of plenty, including what he talked about when it came to his relationship with Sirius.During a lull, as Harry was about to switch to another topic, Bill asked, highly curious, “You learned part of this from someone else before you came back with Sirius?”Charlie then added hastily so he didn’t make Harry uncomfortable, “Makes no nevermind to us. We know you were only with Ginny for part of the one year then broke up with her.”“I did,” Harry confirmed. Not sure how to proceed, he thought it over then explained, “It was with someone before I hooked up with her, though not in school. The time we were together there wasn’t anyone else.” He wanted it out there so the two didn’t end up upset by whatever, thinking he cheated on her.“Didn’t think you would cheat, Harry,” Bill chuckled. “You had plenty of opportunities with the girls in school, from what we heard. Ron huffed plenty about how they practically threw themselves at you and he didn’t have the same kind of luck.”“Wasn’t interested, honestly,” Harry chuckled, remembering a few of the attempts, including the love potion that led to Ron almost dying and bringing him and Hermione together finally.“You liked the blokes even then?” Charlie asked, keeping a soft tone, but curious. With a groan, Harry looked down, shoulders slumping, the told them, “I knew that was my main leaning by then. Ginny and Cho were the exceptions, honestly.” Quickly, he added, “Not that I didn’t like them, especially Ginny, but I liked the blokes more. With what I know now, I don’t think I could have given them up, honestly.”“Heard that from plenty over the years,” Bill told him honestly. “Best it ended rather than the two of you end up in the situation I am or you just miserable then resenting her, Harry. You’ll hear no complaint from us about it, don’t worry.”“Thanks,” Harry said, a tad relieved. “Didn’t want you two thinking I used her or something. It wasn’t the case. I was interested, but I think it was for the wrong reason,” Harry told them, though leaving out the real reason behind what he said. Then he added, glancing around, “Don’t think I could give this up either and I doubt she would have taken it well if I brought it up.”“We wouldn’t have thought that,” Charlie assured him. “Kinda’ figured out she wasn’t your real type, honestly. Like Bill said; better you figured it out before going in. Might have hurt her, but it’s better than the hurt which would come over a failed marriage. She’s moved on and is happy, like you have. You’re both happy. In the end, that matters more, honestly.” With a glance around himself, he added, “If you couldn’t give both up and were drawn, it would have ended up bad, Harry. Breakups happen, even with people everyone thinks are perfect together. Most of us went through our share in school, even Ron. You’re no different.”“Thanks,” Harry said softly, pleased that was out there and the air cleared.“Since it’s all these years later, I’m curious,” Bill started, putting his drink down and scanning around then focusing on Harry. “Who was it you were with? We never knew him, did we?”“You didn’t,” Harry told him, figuring since the air was cleared it was safe to talk about it. “His name was Roger. I knew him in Little Whinging. We were the two freaks there, honestly, just for different reasons. While we made sure we weren’t seen together, we met up plenty during the summers for not only fun, but just to have someone to talk to. I made certain none of the ones watching me knew about him or we were seen together. It was questions I didn’t want to answer, honestly. Besides, some of what we did wasn’t suitable for having an audience.” The last part was delivered with a chuckle.“I think most of us had our secret one of those too,” Charlie chuckled, giving Harry a nudge with his elbow. “We both did in school.”“There was so much crap going on, I didn’t want to make it worse on myself,” Harry admitted honestly. “We all know how bad it might have ended up if it came out I was bisexual.”“I don’t even want to think of the splatter and howling which that tidbit of news would have brought on,” Bill snorted, shaking his head. “You would have ended up almost hounded out of school then plenty of others would have taken after you publicly. It’s plenty accepted among our kind, but, like with Muggles, the vocal minority are very vocal about it.”“I know,” Harry groused, looking sour as he thought about so much which was printed and the howling that arose after it came out about him and Sirius. “I couldn’t have handled it, honestly. Had enough problems when it came to all that went on in other areas. Thought that would drive me over the edge at times. This—it would have.”“You took more with plenty of grace than most of us would have,” Charlie told him honestly. “This though—yeah, it would have been horrific.”After the barback brought them another round, Harry nodded after taking a drink then told them, “Let’s get back to this. Once Sirius makes an appearance, I think it’ll do you good to walk around with the two of us for one round he makes. There are a few here tonight which need watching. We’ll point those out and explain why. Plus, there are a few regulars in we want you to meet.” Then, with a chuckle, he added, grinning, “As long as you play the bodyguard role with me. Even Sirius doesn’t deter them at times like this, especially since he ends up distracted and having to tend to whatever.”“Easily done,” Bill laughed. Besides, he liked the idea of walking around and them explaining what people were doing wrong. While they now understood some of the overt, it was the subtle they needed to grasp to help with the job. The more they could visualize and understand, the better they’d end up.
It was after midnight when Bill and Charlie arrived home. They hadn’t planned to stay that long, but lost track of time while Harry walked them through plenty then they did the rounds with Sirius. It was rather fascinating and educational, honestly. It also shored up their choice to take the job. They could easily do it and already learned their presence was enough to back most down, as they saw when they helped the others a few times.
They were both seated at the kitchen table having a beer before going up to bed. After a drink of his, Bill said, “I’ll tell Sirius tomorrow we’ll take the job. It’s going to end up a right bitch scheduling, especially for me, so he’ll need time.”“Go ahead. I don’t mind it. Plus, it gets us out of the house and we’ll enjoy it, even if it is work.” Charlie nodded.“It should end up interesting,” Bill then chuckled, grinning as he did. “Not sure about some of what happened on the other side, but a few parts looked plenty interesting. We might have to try those,” he then added, grinning bigger.“Don’t get too deranged, Bill!” Charlie laughed, shaking his head.“Nothing too bad,” Bill told him, grinning bigger and sipping his bear. “Just stuff we can both handle. I won’t go too far and will keep the urges under control.”“Just so you do,” Charlie told him. “I can handle parts, but not some of it.”“I won’t get too weird, I swear,” Bill assured him, a slightly feral grin appearing. “just some areas to have a bit of fun with, nothing more. Besides, you’ll let me know if I go too far.”“Damned right I will,” Charlie snorted, though he liked the idea.“I figured,” Bill laughed, shaking his head. Downing the last of his beer, he then vanished the bottle and groaned, “Just not tonight. Too tired. This is far later than normal, for both of us, so I want to get some sleep.”“Same here,” Charlie agreed with a nod. He then downed the last of his own beer. After vanishing the bottle, he stood with a tired groan, “Sleep. We don’t have anything to do tomorrow, but not used to being up this late.”With a nod, Bill stood and stretched. Then, slumping, he headed towards the stairs. Yeah, he wanted sleep. While slightly aroused by so much of what he saw, tired was winning out. Tomorrow they’d have plenty of fun.
After making it up onto the landing that led to their rooms, Bill pinned Charlie to the wall then kissed him passionately. While he wasn’t going to press on to anything else tonight he wanted his brother to know he liked some of what he had seen tonight and wanted to play.
Charlie moaned into Bill’s mouth and wrapped his arms around him, holding him close. While he couldn’t feel a full erection, he assumed Bill liked plenty they had seen. And, honestly, he liked this, a lot, and would let him continue until he wanted to break it off. With what he knew of his brother, when they woke up in the morning, he’d enjoy it even more as they were likely to have some fun.
As the crowds started to thin after Bill and Charlie left, Sirius and Harry once more settled back at the bar. While they’d need to stick around to help as they knew more than one person would act the fool, Sirius would do what he normally tended to and work on paperwork for so much. Since it was the weekend, he wouldn’t send off orders and the like, but there was always something he needed to take care of. Going about matters this way helped him stay on top of everything.
Though grumbling like normal, something which made Harry chuckle, Sirius rifled through the stack of papers for an inventory list he always needed which tracked, via spell, what was used for the club each night. Snorting when he couldn’t find it, he tried to think if it was in the office or if he had left it at home. It then hit him; it was at home. “Bloody wonderful,” he muttered, glaring at the paperwork. With a sigh, he tried to think. He was needed here as he usually had to handle something or other Harry couldn’t, so he couldn’t just leave. However, to work with this mass, he needed that paper. Finally, he told Harry, “I need you to go home and pick up the inventory list. It should be up in the bedroom on the dresser there. I’m sure that’s where I left it. If you don’t see it there, just grab the stack of papers. I’ll find it.”“Will do,” Harry told him with a nod. “I won’t be long,” he told Sirius as he stood. Since he had done this before, it wasn’t a problem. He’d be back in less than fifteen minutes. Feeling Sirius give him a playful swat on the arse, he headed to the office to Apparate home.
Once home, Harry headed up the stairs, planning to make short work of this since an extra set of eyes was always needed at this time of night on the weekend. However, he stopped short and stared when he saw Bill and Charlie locked in a rather passionate lip lock. Unable to help himself, he just grinned at the sight. Now some things made sense, like the sharing the floor and such. He was sure this all fit together as what he was seeing was most certainly not platonic in any way.
Just standing there, though he knew he should vanish to give them time, he watched and waited.
When he finally broke off the kiss, Bill stared at Charlie and grinned. “We need to get some sleep. Come the morning, though...” he then trailed off, grin growing.
“Good,” Charlie chuckled. However, he heard some kind of noise and glanced over Bill’s shoulder. What he saw there made him go pale and stiffen up. “Bollocks,” he muttered as he looked at Harry, who was grinning. Not sure what the look was for, Bill turned his head and felt his stomach clench when he saw Harry standing there. “Shit,” he muttered, not sure what to do.“Don’t mind me,” Harry chuckled, still grinning. “I do have to say that was hot as hell,” he then added, unable to help himself. Knowing he had to get back to the club, he shrugged, “Your business, not mine. Won’t say anything. After all, you’re adults and can do what you want. Besides, I’m bonded to my godfather. Who am I to say anything?” Then he skirted around them and headed towards their floor. He did have to get back to the club before Sirius started getting twitchy over him being gone too long. However, he sure had to tell him about this. He’d just wait until they came home for the night.
Pale, Bill watched Harry head upstairs, then muttered, “Bloody hell, this isn’t good.”
“He’ll tell Sirius, that’s for sure,” Charlie muttered, shaking slightly.“Not much we can do,” Bill shrugged then pulled back. “Let’s go to our room and talk there. We’ll sort it the best we can.” Then he headed through the wards where Harry couldn’t get in or see anything.Another glance up the stairs Harry went up, Charlie sighed and followed Bill. Yeah, they were now screwed, at least in some way. He wasn’t sure the fallout from this, but some was coming. They just had to figure out how to handle it from here.
After taking a seat by Sirius and handing over the paper he needed, Harry grinned as he picked up his drink then took a sip.
“Was a tad worried,” Sirius said, pleased to have what he needed. “What took you so long? There’s nothing wrong, is there?”“No, nothing wrong,” Harry told him, scanning around like normal. “Let’s just say I have something to tell you when we get home. Not getting into it here, but—damn! Rather blindsided me!” Then he grinned bigger, chuckling softly.“Oh?” Sirius asked, highly curious and wondering where the look on Harry’s face was coming from. There was something big up if he saw that.“Oh yes,” Harry snickered. “Not here though. It’s not the place.”“I can’t wait to hear this bit,” Sirius told him with a soft chuckle, figuring it would end up plenty good. However, something going on by the tattoo and piercing booth drew his attention. While he wanted to know, business came first. And it looked like he was going to have to step in and help here. It could wait until they were home.Harry’s eyes were drawn to the issue as well and sighed. Yeah, this came first. “Time to go to work,” he muttered to Sirius, who was already standing to jump in. While he wouldn’t assist, he would watch to summon help if needed. Though his mind kept playing over what he saw of the kiss, he was now focused on this.
