Hermione swung open the door leading in to her hospital and found nothing out of the ordinary, Snape was lounging on the bottom step of the main staircase, Angelina was standing at the bottom and Lucius, Harry and Draco were watching from the sitting room. She could hear screaming coming from a room on the second floor and knew immediately that it was Cami in there. She looked from one face to the other and then fixed her eyes on Snape who had blood on the sleeve of the white shirt he was wearing.
“Here you go” Hermione said, healing the scratches on his arm.
“Thank you” He said walking away.
“What happened?” She asked Angelina.
“She’s a monster” Angelina said “She attacked Snape the minute she saw him then when he didn’t respond she attacked me” She showed her the newly healed scratch marks “Finally, Lucius dragged her up the stairs and flung her in to her bedroom and the spell on the door locked her in there”
“Lovely” Hermione said with a small smile “Sounds fun”
“If you don’t mind too much” Draco said “I would like to continue my visit”
“Go ahead” She waved her hand and smiled when he took Harry’s hand and led him back to where Lucius was now sitting in the sitting room. Hermione walked up the stairs and looked in to the room where the pretty little child was pacing and screaming occasionally. She was breathing heavily but finally sat down on her bed silently fuming and planning. Hermione nodded to herself and walked in to the room watching the child look at her with a fake smile on her pretty face.
“Cami?” She asked.
“Yes” She answered “Who are you?”
“I” Hermione answered “Am Healer Granger and I will be helping you with your recovery from now on” She sat in the chair across from Cami “While you are here I expect you to be on your best behavior…”
“Save it” Cami snapped “I don’t need to be here and I want to go home”
“Cami, answer some questions for me” Hermione said ignoring her “Have you hurt your family members?”
“I don’t mean to” She said
“Have you said terrible things that you didn’t mean to them?” Hermione asked and was taken aback when the little girl raised her blue eyes to hers, there wasn’t any kindness in them only coldness.
“I mean everything that I say” She answered and there was a shudder of fear that ran down Hermione’s spine.
“Do you feel joy, Cami?” Hermione asked “When your siblings were born or on Christmas or your birthday maybe?” The little girl turned her head away from Hermione’s penetrating stare “How about sadness like when a pet dies or maybe fear when you hear a noise that can’t be explained…how about them, do you feel those emotions?”
“I read something once” Cami said “That feeling those emotions made a person weak…so why would I want to be weak?”
“Emotions don’t make one weak” Hermione said “It’s what makes us human”
“When my magic started to manifest in me” Cami said, clearly trying to show off her intelligence by using what could be deemed as ‘big words’ “I realized that I could make things happen…things that would punish those who try to make me do things I don’t want to”
“Like what?” Hermione asked “Do they want you to hurt someone or yourself?”
“No” She rolled her eyes at Hermione “I just…don’t like to clean and stuff like that and when I use my magic I can punish mummy and daddy for trying to make me!”
“This is a good start, Cami” Hermione said “You are very smart and articulate so I feel that learning more about you will be fun” She was a little more shaken up than she wanted to let on but had to keep a shield up in front of this little demon “There are rules for being here”
“What sort of rules?” She sneered.
“You are to stay in your room until I deem you okay enough to leave” Hermione said and she looked furious “Meals are at eight, noon and five in the evening, you are going to be tested mentally as well as magically and then given classwork”
“But I need a professor…” She started.
“There is a man here that can help you” Hermione told her “He was a professor of mine and I can help you of course. All the work is to be done in the allotted amount of time and you are to have therapy sessions with me”
“Sounds wonderful” She spat and rolled her eyes “Let me make this real simple for you, Healer Granger” She sneered “My parents are coming back for me, my stupid mother is too much of a simpering cow to leave me here and once she gets my letters talking about how mean you are and how one of the men here is looking at me funny…well…I’ll be gone that afternoon”
“Well then” Hermione smiled sweetly as she walked to the door before turning back to look at her “I have a surprise for you, princess. You don’t get to write to your parents for the first month, so sorry to foil your plans”

The week after the first meeting with the little girl had been pretty eventful. She was testy little thing and strong, it took three female healers to get the little monster in the tub to get her clean. She hit Snape in the face and Hermione had been so sure that she was going to have restrain him from hitting her back but to her surprise he held on to his anger. More than once Hermione herself wanted to smack the little shit, however she got her amusement by adjusting her medical potions. Some days she was a monster as usual, some days she thought she was a fairy princess and other days she was a zombie. But Hermione was getting closer and closer to finding the right dosage for her and until then she just took it one day at a time.
“Hermione” Angelina came in “This just came for you in the kitchen”
“Why the kitchen and not my office?” Hermione asked perplexed.
“Bellatrix has kitchen duty” Angelina explained “She overfeeds the owls when they come in…they always come to the kitchen now”
“Nice” Hermione laughed “Of course” She took the letter and smiled “Thank you”
Dear Healer Hermione Granger,
I have looked over the records you have sent me on case # 8536. I am sending you the paperwork that is to be completed by his appointment which is set for next Wednesday at nine in the morning. He will spend three days with us doing tests and talking with our therapist to make sure that he hasn’t fooled you. We will also be testing his speech to make sure that he would be able to communicate if he were harmed or lost somewhere without his wand. If he passes all of these then he has to get a decent and legal job and his own apartment as his house: Spinners End has been bought by muggles and torn down. He has to keep his apartment and the same job for one year before he will be able to move somewhere else within England. Please accompany him to the Ministry next Wednesday with the paperwork filled out.

Hermione smiled to herself, she promised Severus that she would free him. Now, she was making good on that promise and it felt good to do so, she would help him find a place to live and a job then she would allow the pieces to fall in to place…hopefully in her favor.
A/N: Short chapter but it’s what I could conjure up.
