Hello everyone! On time this week lol. Of course posting after Game of Thrones ended (I hate cliffhangers), but here none the less. Yes you get to see the dress right off the bat, there is drama, a speech from the minister, and star struck love. I think one more chapter that has more of the dance and then things are going to get smutty again (maybe a little bit in the next chapter to but I'm not sure yet). I hope everyone likes it and please don't be afraid to share your thoughts. As always response to reviews are at the bottom.
Hermione descended the stairs with the other girls, but her eyes never left Draco’s. Gods, he’s so handsome.
All the guys stepped forward to kiss their ladies hands.
“I honestly didn’t think it was possible, but you look more pretty now then you did at the Yule Ball,” Draco said to Hermione.
“Pansy picked it. I think it’s a little too revealing.” Hermione said looking down. It, like Ginny’s, hugged her body. However, it was a royal blue halter top that had a deep cut ending at her solar plexus, a slit up her leg that ended half way up her thigh and a plunging back that stopped three inches above her arse. The bottom was covered in gold and emerald sequins that were concentrated at the bottom and swirled cascading up to the top of the slit. The straps also had gold and emerald sequins as well as the edge’s leading down to her solar plexus. Her heels were five inches and gold with green rhinestones on the straps. Half of Hermione’s hair was up in a French Knot and the rest was down in tight, defined curls.
“I think it’s perfect.” Draco said smiling.
“Oh, Hermione dear, I almost forgot,” Mrs. Weasley said. “Ginny asked me to go home and get this for you.” In her hands was a shiny gold comb that had gold roses at the top and emerald stones in the leaves. “She knew it would go wonderfully with your dress.”
Hermione looked over at Ginny. “Here. Let me put it in for you.” Ginny took the comb and placed it perfectly at the top of the knot. “There. Now your perfect.” Hemrione turned back around and smiled at Ginny.
“Not quite.” Hermione turned to Draco and saw him holding a white gold chain.
“Oh, Draco. It’s absolutely stunning.” Draco walked around Hermione and placed it around her neck. “It’s perfect.” Hermione said as Draco walked around her again. Hermione was holding the golden rose and looking at the amethyst.
“Just like you, love.” Draco replied smiling.
Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him sweetly. A flash went off somewhere and Hermione turned to see Dennis Creevy with a camera in his hands.
“Sorry,” he said. “I should have asked first. It just seemed like a good way to honor my brother.”
“I think that’s a wonderful idea, Dennis,” Hermione said. “Make sure you take a lot.”
Dennis smiled and started directing people for pictures. First Hermione and Draco, then Molly, Arthur, and Narcissa with them. Harry and Ginny. Harry, Ginny, Molly and Arthur. Ron, Harry, and Hermione, and many, many more.
“So…” Hermione had been watching the boys making funny poses when she was approached. “I never thought Draco Malfoy would be on speaking terms with you, let alone your boyfriend.”
“Jealous?” Hermione asked.
“Well, yes.” Patrick replied. “I mean, I know he’s filthy rich, but he’s also a Death Eater who tormented you for years. Seven years precisely.”
Hermione turned to him. “I didn’t realize you were present at Hogwarts during the battle. Or at his trial.” Patrick started to speak, but Hermione wouldn’t let him. “You haven’t been here since this year started. I would have figured that you wouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, and that you would have been able to see the change someone could make when others are no longer controlling their life.”
“Death Eaters never change,” he said harshly. “He’s going to leave you and I’m going to prove it to you.” Patrick looked as if he was going to say something more, but looked over her head and walked away.
Hermione felt a hand on the small of her back. “Everything okay, love?”
Hermione turned to Draco smiling. “Of course. Why wouldn’t it be?”
“I’m not sure. You just seem a little heated.” Draco rubbed the small of her back. “And I saw you talking to Patrick.”
“Now, now.” Hermione said patting his chest. “Don’t worry about him. Just be the man I love and not cause trouble.”
Draco smiled. “Of course, my love. It’s time to say goodbye to the parents.”
Hermione smiled and linked her arm through his. “Lead the way.”

“Are you finished, my love?” Draco asked.
“Even if I wasn’t, I don’t think my dress would let me eat anymore,” Hermione replied.
The Great Hall was set up similarly to how it was four years ago for the Yule Ball. Instead of ice sculptures and Christmas trees, though, it had the school symbol, house crests and colors on banners and floating pumpkins.
Draco and Hermione were sitting at a table with Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Daphne. Theo, Pansy, Blaise, a sixth year Ravenclaw that was with Blaise, Neville and Luna were on one side while George, Angelina, Lee, Seamus, Hannah, and Lee’s date were on the other. Small tables like theirs were all over the Great Hall.
Just as Draco opened the front of his robes, unbuttoned his vest, and slung his arm over the back of Hermione’s chair, McGonagall started speaking. “Now that we are all fed, Minister Shacklebolt would like to say a few words.”
Everyone clapped politely as the minister made his way to McGonagall. “Thank you Headmistress. And thank you everyone for being here and letting me stay as well.” Shacklebolt smiled as everyone chuckled. “As some of you may have already figured out, Headmistriss McGonagall and I have decided to have this ball for you all for a couple of reasons. First reason is because most, if not all of you, fought here at Hogwarts and we would like to say thank you for that. The second reason is to remember. Many of you made it to this point in your life, while others did not. Let us never forget those that couldn’t be here today. A moment of silence please, for our fallen heroes.”
Draco looked down at his hands, guilt weighing heavily on his shoulders. No, he did not kill anyone, torture anyone, or harm anyone, but he had been on the side that did, and it was what he would carry with him forever. Draco felt pressure on his hands and looked up to see Hermione smiling sweetly at him. He knew she understood him. She let go of his hands and leaned into the nook of his shoulder and put her arms around his waist as he pulled her closer and kissed the top of her head.
“Now, before we begin this dance, I would like everyone to look around. There are no house tables because tonight there are no houses. Just a large group of students here to have a good time. If you are not sure how to integrate yourself with someone that was sorted differently than you, I suggest you look to the eighth years for advice.” Draco saw the minister flash a small at his table before continuing. “If everyone would please stand.” Once everyone stood, the tables and chairs disappeared. The students gathered in the middle and smaller tables appeared around the outskirts, as well as a few chairs and larger tables that held refreshments and small treats. When Draco turned to the front again, he saw the magnificent stage ready for the band. “The Weird Sisters came to me and said that they would love to play for all of you, so please put your hands together for The Weird Sisters!”
The welcoming cheers were deafening. “Good evening Hogwarts! Let’s get this ball started!” The band started to play an upbeat song, and Draco was pulled to the front of the stage by Hermione. No sooner had they and everyone around them started dancing, Draco felt eyes on him. Looking around, he saw Patrick glaring at him.
“Ignore him,” Hermione shouted in his ear. “He’s jealous because he thinks I’m after your money and doesn’t want me around you because you supposedly will never change.” Hermione threw her arms around his neck, forcing him to look at her. “I know you have changed. As does everyone else who has spent time with you since term started. I love you. Promise to remember that.”
Draco smiled, bent down a little to please his forearms under her arse, and lifted her up. “Always. I love you to.”
LadyShire: I hope you like the dress. My sister in law and I debated for hours on how it should look. My Easter was good. Always tough splitting time between my side of the family and my husbands so it's easy to get tired lol. I hope your Easter was good as well.
Thunderbird: I thought about having her not say it until the ball but it just seemed perfect to have her say it there instead. I would love to know the thoughts on what you thought of her dress and of the drama that is going to continue in the next chapter and of course down the road.
I can't wait to read everything that you are going to write.
