There were questions so many questions by his best mates. He was bombarded with them so well he couldn’t pick them.
Harry decided to be forthcoming.
“I gave them the Triwizard earnings.” Harry admitted, it was a hefty sum but anyone with a brain could see the twins had the potential to put zunko’s out of business.
It made him feel worse by what he had done for a moment. In truth, Harry was the one enslaved.
Harry focused on the now and pushed that dire thought down. He focused on Ron.
“You know how scarily smart they are. No doubt, they’ve got so many ideas.”
Well they had
Harry pushed that poisonous thought down.
“Ron, I mean it.You two,” He pointed at them
“Are the only ones who know, please keep it that way.” Harry implored his emerald gaze upon them.
“I never wanted those earnings and they gave me a way out. “He shrugged but he wanted out of the questions partly because there were too many.
“Mate, you wanted to be an Auror.” Harry chuckled bitterly for a long moment.
“I wasn’t ready Ron.” His voice sober
“I don’t think you can be ready. He isn’t like the ghostly parasite we faced in first year Ron.”
Harry looked at them both Hermione looked at him strangely. Harry’s voice went low.
“Promise me, If Voldermort appears in an area near you will run. That you will try to escape at the earliest moment possible.”
Harry only had a vague blur of that night. Voldermort didn’t want anyone to know of that night in that graveyard. Two dark lords had left it and a hero died that horrid night.
All Harry really knew was that he was responsible for Voldermort’s return.
“Why?!” Ron nearly shouted.
“He will kill you.” Harry answered honestly. His voice barely a whisper.
“Because you are my best mates.” Harry tapped his head.
“He got inside my head. I-don’t know what he’s seen. I am sorry.”
Harry Potter truthfully admitted. But he thought they should know that they’re probably on the Voldermort’s hit list. Harry expected at least Ron would yell or leave the room and abandon him.
The room went dead silent for a long while. They just stood there in silence. Hermione took a seat on the bed.
“We’ll learn to defend ourselves Harry.” She said that with ironclad Gryffindor conviction that Harry believed her.
“Bloody Hell, Harry.” As he looked at Hermione for a long moment, but his gaze stiffened, Ron nodded with a stubborn will.
“You won’t have to worry about us Harry.” Abandon me, flee! Save yourselves! Harry mentally implored
He mentally assailed and then his vision went blurry with tears. You idiots. He had fallen, but with all his heart he didn’t want his best mates witness it. The Loyalty of Gryffindor would doom his best mates.
And that was precisely why Harry needed to disappear for good. His thoughts went blank as he was embraced. A crushing hug from his two best mates.
Fucking Idiots. He thought. They didn’t know what he’d become, what he’d had done. Harry swore to himself he was going to disappear by school years end.
Before they found out. Harry refused to let his best mates see what he truly was. He’d had to time it perfectly but…
It was better to be remembered as he was… The Boy Who Lived.
The old tepid darkness here in this place no longer cut it.
He needed more, His temper had frayed by enduring another dinner and now not even his friends could bolster his illusion that everything was fine.
Diagon ally was within walking distance…. And so was Knockturn Alley and dear old Markus Scarr. He watched the sun set. From his bedroom a plan slowly unfurled. Markus's letter laid half read.
His little sanctuary.
How the other inhabitants of grimmauld place mocked him by being normal.
He dressed warmly and snuggly pulling on a warm jumper from his trunk and he hesitantly procured his invisibility cloak.
It was a good thing he practiced that slowing charm amidst that harrowing constant study that was the Triwizard tournament. Hermione had made a point of forcing him to learn it after the dragon incident. Not that he blamed her.
It was useful in situations like this.
Harry opened his window.
“Arresto Momentum!” Harry whispered as he stepped through his window and softly fluttered down the invisibility cloak. Billowing around him as he touched down on the ground below.
He pointed his wand at his window and used the locking charm and his window visibly closed. He needed to be away from these undark people for a little while.
He stayed motionless incase anyone was watching him. He stayed like that for a long while. He took a deep breath and stepped out from grimmauld place.
The moment he did so the dark mark upon his thigh throbbed pleasantly. Its presence paradoxically a relief.
He wasn’t alone.
It was a long walk, but he had time to think. Time to watch the muggles go about their night lives.
Harry was glad he was a quick learner. He ducked into an alleyway and folded his invisibility cloak into his jumper. So, he wouldn’t lose it.
He felt like mocking Malfoy so he changed his hair color towards that platinum blonde and covered his scar.
He knew the moment he was close to the Leaky Cauldron. There was a surprising amount of noise. Harry’s emerald eyes beheld a bustling scene.
Its small, dingy state was bustling. Filled with people and so much more. Harry shivered in the cold for a moment as he watched wizards and witches enter the surprisingly filled pub. A wizard was off to the side of the Leaky Cauldron vomiting quite loudly.
Harry had never seen the place so alive. Harry entered the boisterous location and the moment he opened the he the noise was louder inside. Harry went straight for the door outback. Knockturn Alley was so close.
Harry made a point not to look at anyone. There were a few hags. A troll or two, goblins and others. Not dark but a pitiful shade of grey. Disappointing indeed.
Harry would return. Now that he knew that the pub was filled with vibrant life. He’d change it up. Perhaps, he’d floo next time… Or perhaps not.
He enjoyed this invisibility. He was amidst magical kind and while it was difficult to make his way towards the back of the pub. Avoiding the sheer throng of people and other beings.
Harry made it to the back of the pub and into the back courtyard where he found himself glad to be away from the noise.
He drew his wand. Pleasantly surprised that he had never forgotten Hagrid’s lesson. From the trash can three up and two across. He tapped the correct brick with his wand. A hole opened in the wall and Harry hurriedly darted through it. Diagon alley by night was quite different from the one he remembered.
Harry shivered a few old witches gave him a disproving look as they walked past him toward the Leaky Cauldon.
Harry shrugged and didn’t particular care. They were no one he knew.
They gave an audible affronted gasp as he purposely walked into Knock turn Alley.
The darkness was exquisite here at night. He could feel the dark arts here, it throbbed and wove its way through the entirety of this alley.
It was euphoric. Exactly what he had been looking for. There was a surprising amount of people going about hushed business but none who he could truly feel.
Harry stumbled almost drunkenly. Just basking in the wonderful feeling the dark provided and then he felt them.
Dark wizards. They had the completely different feeling than a normal wizard or witch. It was hard to describe but he could definitively tell that is what they were.
And considering that only one bastard returned due to his help.
Death Eaters.
Yet, one didn’t feel like a dark wizard at all. Harry kept his gaze down as they approached. Some snickered, some snorted as they went about their business as Harry stumbled past them.
Unworthy of his attention as he briefly placed a shoulder against the nearest wall and looked behind him.
He was massive in comparison. A vicious looking man with matted grey hair with robes that looked uncomfortably tight. He was a little ahead of the death eaters.
He was distinctly separate from the death eaters. Harry thought it quite interesting.
Allied… Perhaps. But he was not one of them. Indeed, He stopped, and the death eaters walked past him like he did not exist.
He was certainly a Dark being. Not a dark wizard but something else.
Something delightfully dangerous. In that wild animal way.
Harry pushed off the wall and made his way towards the that wonderful Markus Scarr. When he heard a large intake of air coming from the massive man. Not wanting to draw attention to his momentary pause.
He was smelling the air.
For what Harry did not know nor did he care.
Harry hurried towards that tattoo shop. Markus Scarr apparently could not stop thinking about him. The pub next to it was also quite busy.
Thankfully, Markus Scarrs Indelible Tattoos was still open, and Harry knocked before he entered. He shut the door behind himself.
He could feel Markus Scarr. He could not help himself as he made his way hurriedly towards him.
“Miss me Markus?”
Harry coyly asked as the man turned the corner.
“Y-You changed your hair.” Harry chuckled as he gently pulled off his jumper and bundled up invisibility cloak. Before he pulled off his shirt.
Revealing the Hungarian Horntail upon his chest and the dark lion upon his back.
“Are you busy? Is anyone else here?”
Markus Scarr gulped and shook his head. He flicked his wand and the door locked and the window curtains fell obscuring them from Knockturn Alley.
Harry took his time striding towards his servant.
“I’ve missed you.” As he strode up towards his trembling servant and Harry gently placed his hands-on Markus’s shoulders and pressed down.
There was no mistaking what he wanted. Markus looked like he wanted to resist but his will was weak and he crumbled like paper immersed in water.
He was going to put Markus through his paces and leave him a soggy mess when he was done.
Markus whimpered for a moment as he sank to his knees. Harry’s imperious gaze bearing down on him. He half-heartedly reached out and Harry brushed the hand aside. With a smile of warning.
He couldn't resist Harry. He was weak and the only thing that mattered was what Harry wanted.
Harry sighed as an act of mercy he unbuttoned his trousers. Harry looked down his wand in hand not quite threatening…
At least not yet.
Harry smiled and Markus leaned forward and with his teeth he gripped the zipper and pulled it down.
