Kindred Passion
Chapter 2
After a few hours, Albus Dumbledore appeared with Achak. "Thank you Harry, for allowing her to get some rest without Mairead's potions." Seeing Harry's look of concern, Achak spoke, "Don't worry Harry. I plan on taking very good care of Seanna. She is one of very few that do not shrink from my touch, therefore, I will allow no harm come to such a beautiful spirit." Harry reached out his hand to the Nosferatu, "I think I can see what she does and if it is alright with you, I would like to call you my friend." Achak took the young wizard's hand with a gleam in his eye. "Thank you, I would be honoured to call you a friend, Harry Potter."He faced Albus, "You realize that he is much like Muirinn." Albus nodded, "Yes, once Harry chooses to be someone's friend, only betrayal will change his mind." Harry shook his head at the two men, "Albus, are you going now?" Albus gave him a hug, "Yes, Harry we are." Harry gave the sleeping woman a kiss on the cheek, "Farewell, Lady-O, until we meet again." With that, Albus lifted the sleeping Seanna from Harry's arms, "Are you ready Achak?" "Yes Albus, I am." Dumbledore said, "Once we leave, you had better get to class, Harry." With those words the three people disappeared.
After a last look around Seanna's flat, Harry closed the door. Staring at it thoughtfully for a moment, he knew what he wanted to do. Taking all of the grief and affection he felt for Seanna, Harry devised his very first enchantment. Focusing all the power he could sense building in him on the door, he muttered the words, "Enchantimus protectus.". Now if he had done it right, the only person to be able to break it would be Seanna at her return. Anyone else would get a rude awakening at trying to enter her domain.
Slowly he headed down the stairs and out to Hagrid's for his Care of Magical Creatures class. As it turned out, he should have hidden for the rest of the day. Lack of concentration had him making stupid errors that got him yelled at by Hagrid. In Potions, Snape tried to back him into a corner on the uses of Asphodel. Having had enough, Harry exploded, "Who the hell cares about stupid potions anyway!" Snape snarled back, "Ten points from Gryffindor, Potter." Harry growled back, "You know something Professor, go right ahead and take your points, I don't give a damned. You want to hassle me, try doing it without me in the class." And with that, Harry grabbed his things and stormed out of the room, Snape bellowing at him to stop." Gryffindor AND Slytherin Houses were both shocked, Harry NEVER acted like this.
After wandering the halls for several hours, tormenting and snapping at everyone in sight, Harry found himself in front of Remus' door. "Come in Harry," Remus said before Harry could even knock. "How did you know"" ""That it was you? Word of the explosion in Potions is all over school. Not to mention the terrorizing of the halls. It's nice to see that you prefer deserts to bogs though. I'm sure Mr. h ish is having a field day trying to clear the sand out of Snape's classroom and office." Harry shook his head, "What?" Remus smiled at him, "You don't know? That figures. Like Muirinn, your emotional state seems to allow you to do things without being aware of them." He shook his head, "I'd really hate to be on your bad side. Apparently after you left Snape's class, the room suddenly turned into a desert, including some very lovely scorpions. Now that you have scared off your friends, would you care to tell me what upset you, other than Snape!"
The words seem to pour out of Harry, "Someone is hurting friends I care about, and there's nothing I can do. Hell, I can't even comfort one of them, because she's gone away. Why shouldn't I be angry?" Remus looked confused, "Gone? Who's gone, Harry?" Harry didn't answer. "Harry?" Not meeting the werewolf's eyes, Harry replied, "I've said too much. Dumbledore's gonna have my head," and walked out.
Later, Severus Snape went to Miles. "I would like to visit my sister, please." "Very well," Miles responded, and summoned Caresse and Adora to join them. When they reached the flat, Miles knocked, "Seanna, it's Miles. May we enter?" Hearing nothing, he tried the door"and was blown down the hall for his effort. Standing with the aid of the Loup-Garou sisters, he asked, "What the hell caused that?" Severus in turn, attempted to open the door, and was slammed against the wall. By that time, a great number of people had heard the explosion and come running. Including Professor Dumbledore.
"Did I hear an explosion," he asked Miles? He nodded, "We came to see Seanna. When we didn't get any answer to our knock, I tried to open the door. It blew me down the hallway. I don't understand what is going on." "Hmmm," Dumbledore examined the door closely. "Flitwick, come look at this," He summoned the Charms teacher. The tiny man levitated over to check out the door. "Interesting. Albus this is very complicated work. Even Miss Granger is not up to this level yet." After discussing the problem at length, Albus said, "There doesn't seem to be any way in."
"But I came to see Seanna," Severus Snape stated. "How can we get to her? Albus looked at him, "Seanna's not there Professor. She left early this afternoon." Snape began sputtering, "Left? But where did she go?" Just then Muirinn came up, "Uncle Albus, this isn't a spell, hex, or curse." He turned to her, "Then what is it, Child?" She smiled, "It's an enchantment, and if I'm reading it right, the only person the door will open for will be Seanna. Remember the "Sleeping Beauty' enchantment? Well it seems to be a variation. But I don't know anyone who could have cast it."
Returning to his office, Albus Dumbledore sat back and thought for a while. He knew very well who had set that protection. Minerva McGonagall entered, "Albus, I'm concerned about the welfare of the students. We seem to have a very powerful being here, without knowing who it is." He smiled, "Minerva, don't worry so, I'm pretty sure I know who set that enchantment. And we DO know of his power. At least in potential." McGonagall gasped, "Are you saying Harry set that up?" Dumbledore replied, "Yes Minerva, I'm sure he did. He wouldn't want anyone disturbing Seanna's things while she's gone. But no one is to know except you and me."
Tariq came to again. He didn't know how much longer he could hold on to his sanity. Sensing the hunger, he knew he had been there for days without feeding. Only Seanna kept him from losing it completely. Her love was what held him to the earth. If only he could feel her arms around him again. Dreaming, he coulste ste her kisses, hear her cries of passion that they had shared just one night. "Help me, Hasna, I'm holding on for you. Feel my love reaching out to you and our child. Please Seanna, help me hold on too."
Seanna woke in tears, she had dreamed of Tariq. He was hurt, and asking her to help him hold on despite his pain. He had said how much he loved her and the baby. "Oh Habib, where are you?" Trying to send her love, Seanna responded to the dream. "Habib, I'm here for you, I love you. Please help me find you." Someone else entered her thoughts"Achak, "Seanna, show me! Oh Achak he's hurt so bad. "Lead me to his mind, Seanna!' Tariq, are you here? Please let Achak help you." Seanna opened her eyes, and found Achak seated beside her, in trance. She could feel massive amounts of energy pouring from him into a link. Suddenly she knew he was sending that energy to Tariq to help him survive. Achak slowly met her gaze, "He is badly hurt, and through the trance I can only do so much healing. From what I could get, he's holding on because of you. We need to keep you safe."
He turned to the table beside the bed, "Albus wants you to drink this for as long as you refuse to eat. It contains nutrients that your child needs." The Nosferatu handed her the cup. "Achak, how did I get here? And where exactly is here?" Achak watched her, "Child, drink your drink, then I will answer what questions I can." Seanna put the cup to her lips, expecting a horrible taste. "Hey, that's pretty good," she looked so surprised that Achak began laughing. "Albus figured that if it tasted bad, you wouldn't drink it. Now as for your questions, Albus took you from Harry's arms and brought you here. As to where we are, even I don't know. All Albus would say was that it's a "safe cottage'.
"Seanna, now that we've made contact with young Tariq, I am very glad to be here to protect you. We've got to find a way to locate him. When Albus returns, we can tell him what we know. Now let's change the subject for a while." Seanna smiled sadly, "Alright. So Harry knows I'm gone." Achak nodded, "Yes. If fact, he has been doing a wonderful job of turning Hogwarts on it's ear," the Nosferatu chuckled, "I truly like his style." Seanna asked, "Why? What's he doing?"
Achak sat back, ready to enthrall her with the tale. "Here's the story as I got it this morning. After we left with you yesterday, Harry went to his class with Hagrid. Something happened that left him decidedly unhappy. Next he went to your brother's class, where the Professor proceeded to make life even more miserable. Young Harry finally had enough and told Snape off. The Professor took points away and then Harry told him what he could do with the points and stormed out the door. Right after he left, the classroom and your brother's office were turned into desert with all kinds of interesting creatures wandering around.
He groused at Remus, snarled at Sirius, told Sibeal she had no idea what he was going through, Ron to grow up, Hermione to stick her head in a book, and rampaged through the rest of the school. By this morning, even the Slytherins were avoiding him. Oh, you'll love what he did to Miles and Severus." Stunned, Seanna asked, "What else COULD he do?" Achak laughed, "It seems that, after we left your flat yesterday, Harry decided he didn't want anyone messing in your things, so he modified an old enchant-ment called "Sleeping Beauty' so that anyone who tries to get in, gets blown down the hall. The first two to try to get in were Miles and your brother." Seanna shook her head, "I didn't realize he cared so much. I take it that if I go back, the door will open for me." Achak nodded, "That's the way that particular enchantment works."
"Why don't you get dressed and go for a walk with me?" Seanna replied, "No thank you Achak, I just don't feel like it." He nodded, "I'll be downstairs if you need me." Seanna lay in the bed, not doing anything but staring at the walls. By the next morning, Achak decided it was time to take action. Entering her room, he pulled the blankets away, "Alright young woman, hit the tub. It's time to get cleaned up because you have company coming." Seanna responded slowly, "I don't feel like it." The Nosferatu glared at her, "I really don't care. Get moving." He drew her from the bed, and shoved her into the bathroom, "If you're not capable, I'll bathe you." With that parting threat, Achak went back to the kitchen.
A short time later, Seanna entered the kitchen, bathed, fresh clothing, and her hair washed and combed. "Thank you Achak." He smiled, "For what, Child?" She thought for a moment, "How about for guarding me, and for caring enough to kick me in the ass when I needed it. By the way, would you really have bathed me, if I hadn't motivated." He turned and looked her in the eyes, "Yes, I would have. It's a real pleasure to be here for you. Now would you like some breakfast?" "Yes please. May I help," Seanna asked. "Why certainly," he responded. "Why don't you set the table?" "Achak?" "Yes, Child?" She said thoughtfully, "While you've been here protecting me, I know you've been unable to hunt. Forgive me if this is rude, but how have you fed?"
Achak turned and looked at Seanna, "Child, you are a true delight." Turning back to the job at hand, he continued, "Albus has made an agreement with the Loup-Garou. When they kill, they save the blood for me. Albus brought a supply. If you look in the bottom of the icebox, you'll find several bottles. They hold what was collected from the recent kills." Thinking about what he knew of her, Achak said, "You were about to offer, weren't you?" Seanna gazed into his eyes, "Yes. If necessary."
"Thank you for thinking of me Child. It is nice to know you can care for one such as me." Seanna, stunned, replied, "Of course I care, you're a good person, and I wouldn't want you to suffer because of me." Achak thought for a time while placing breakfast on the table for Seanna. Blinking at what he saw, the Nosferatu knew this child had a beautiful soul. She had placed a cup on the table, with a bottle from the icebox, already warmed. She was so thoughtful, so caring of others. He hoped nothing would damage that marvelous compassion she possessed.
"Achak, I have another question." He said, "Speak it, Child." Seanna asked, "You have so much time for me. Don't the others miss you?" Achak looked away for a moment, she deserved the truth. "Child, you must know how the humans avoid me." Seanna nodded. "Well even other Vampyres steer clear of Nosferatu. Because of the way I look, no one wants to be around me. You, Muirinn, Tariq, Dumbledore and now young Harry are the exceptions. For all of you, it is as if I am like you. The others find me frightening."
Seanna burst out, "It's wrong to judge just on looks. You're a wonderful person. In fact, if I hadn't met Tariq," she blushed, "I think I could become very attracted to you." Achak, watching her closely, said, "I doubt I could give you what young Tariq has." Seanna got up and walked around the table. Sitting on the edge near the Nosferatu, she reached out and touched his cheek. "I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for a woman who will enjoy your fine qualities." He shook his head, "Good luck Child. She doesn't exist." Seanna, looking deep in his eyes, said sober"Yes"Yes she does. I can feel it." She leaned over and kissed his cheek, "Thank you Achak."
