A/N:
I’m a delighted to say that I’ve taking the task of continuing with one of my
favourite Severus/Lucius fic.
Notes:
Sorry, it’s been a wait since I had posted the first chapter. I’ve been going
through some personal problems and I had a dry spell with what I can do with
this fic. I want to me this sequel to The Will just as exciting and
thrilling as Jadwiga had made when I read the first chapters to her fic. So,
without further delay here is the second chapter.
Summary: Severus and
Lucius are happily married but their lives are anything but happy. What happens
when the War is starting to escalate and forces them to part ways? However, Severus is keeping a secret from his husband
that will only anger Lucius once discovered.

Enjoy!

Number 12 Grimmuald Place,
Order of the Phoenix Headquarters
Severus
sat on the stool that he had requested from a
house-elf in the corner of the dining area where tonight’s meeting was taking
place. His back was hurting as well as his head. Listening to Black and the
other former Gryffindor’s was giving him the worst
migraine.
Thus
far the meeting was mindless dribble about how each of their families were doing so forth and so on – nothing of vital
importance to Severus. In his moment of distraction Sirius had left the meeting claiming that he left his
parchments upstairs – the main reason behind the blasted meeting in the first
place.
Felix
was on the opposite side of the dinning room staring longingly at Severus.
Bringing
back his attention, Dumbledore finally got the ‘meeting’ underway. “First I
would like to welcome all of you back safe and sound. As we wait for Sirius to
return I would like for all of you to take a look at the most recent map of Death Eater attacks.”
A
large section of England was highlighted in green – to everyone except Severus’
dismay.
Sirius
rushed back in with several pieces of parchment. He walked to Dumbledore and
whispered something in his ear before standing straight up and taking his seat
next to his best friends, James and Remus.
“As
you can see, friends,
Voldemort is trying to take over the European wizarding world. It is only a
matter of time before he decides to spread his
reign of terror to the US and we cannot allow
that to happen.”
Low
murmuring filled the large room. “Do we know of any weak spots in his
campaign?” asked Molly who was serving coffee
and tea to anyone who wanted it.
“Yes,”
Dumbledore replied. He looked pointedly at his Potions master. “Voldemort has
the financial backing and strong support of a very influential pureblood.”
“Well?
Who is it, Albus?” James asked holding his wife’s hand.
“Malfoy.
Lucius Malfoy.”
Sirius
jumped up pulling his wand out and aiming it a Severus who was just as quick.
“You
sneaky son-of-a-bitch! You sprouted all those lies just to turn on us. I knew
right from the start that you were not to be trusted and then you wanted your
husband to join us as well-”
“Padfoot,
calm down,” Remus hissed trying his best to get his friend to sit down and let
the Headmaster to finish speaking.
“For
your information Black, if my husband wasn’t doing what his is doing right now
we will be dead, or does that not penetrate your tiny little brain?” Severus
taunted. God, some things just never changed
between them.
But
something caught Sirius’ attention. It was brief, granted, but he saw
nonetheless and wondered if anyone else had seen
it. The aura around Severus flickered. Then he realized that Snape was using a
Concealment charm. Why would the git be using such a charm? What was it that
Snape didn’t want anyone to know?
“Sirius,
Severus is right. Lucius is risking much by being in a position as Voldemort’s
right-hand. He has been sending word to Severus as often as he can. However,
the attacks that are currently going on are something that he cannot prevent.
Which brings us to our next item; the
last letter Severus received from Lucius stated that Voldemort was planning
something big that might be in relation to the
recent information that you yourself have uncovered. Care to explain?”
“I
can only speculate at this point, but from what
I decipher from the letters are that the Dark Lord has several targets in mind.
Several of them are here in the Order. Foremost are James and Lily. I’m sorry
to be the bearer of such ill news but Voldemort
wants you dead,” Sirius said.
Everyone
went quiet.
The
air became stale as the realization crept into their minds. Voldemort was not
holding back any longer. He was now targeting the youth, the future of the
wizarding world.
Dumbledore
heaved a heavy sigh. This was unexpected. The newly wedded Potters was going to
have to go into hiding and soon. The remainder of the meeting was spent on
battle tactics and other such rubbish.
Severus
could care less. He had long ago excused himself from the boring humdrum and
retired to his bedroom. Nickolas would be expecting him tomorrow and it
wouldn’t bode well for him if he were late meeting his husband’s personal attendant and friend.
Removing
his wand from inside his robe, Severus dispelled the concealment charm and
stared in absolute wonder at his distended belly. Never in his wildest dreams had he believed that that the potion he had made was able to produce a miracle such as this.
Oh, how he wished he could have told Lucius, but knowing the blond, he would
have not left to do what he was meant to do.
No,
it was better this way. No one knew and no one was going to find out.
/The
small price I must pay to keep you safe/ Severus thought as he readied himself
for bed.

Number
12 creaked and groaned for most of the night, which was not all that surprising
as most old houses did. Even the stairs moaned if one didn’t know which ones to
avoid and the same went the floorboards and the doorknobs.
It
was a little past one o’clock in the morning when the meeting was adjourned.
The Order members quickly and quietly retired to their assigned rooms. Sirius
was sitting on the edge of his bed trying to make sense out what he had seen.
After glancing around the dinning room, no one had noticed a thing out of the
ordinary with Snape.
/Why
is Snivellous using a concealment charm? What is he hiding?/ Sirius thought as
the toilet flushed in the adjoining bath.
The
door opened to a man wearing nothing but a thick
plush towel wrapped around his waist. Shoulder length dark hair was still
dripping wet. Bright blue eyes shone with lust.
“I
thought that you had forgot about me. What took you so long?”
Sirius
met the man half way into the main part of his room – tugging gently at the
towel. “And why weren’t you at the meeting? Dumbledore ordered for everyone to be there and that meant you
as well.”
The
brunette ran his hands appreciatively up and down Sirius’ covered chest humming
as he felt the small pebbles underneath his fingers pop out.
“The
old man knew I was running an errand for you, love.”
“Well,
what did you find?” Sirius asked as the towel dropped to the floor.
“Snape
has more wards on his lab and classroom than Gringotts, but I was able to break
them,” the other male admitted with some pride.
“Ah,
of course you would or you wouldn’t be a master in your field now would you?”
Sirius said planting a kiss just on the edge of the other’s mouth then along
the smooth jaw line and down the slender neck stopping at the collarbone.
“I
might be a master at breaking curses and wards but a potions master I am not.
I’ve made copies of what he had labelled the
Alpha project and some other things that were related to Ancient Egypt. But
other than that, I found nothing as to why he would be needing a concealment
charm. At any rate, I’m finished talking about him
as I plan on other activities for the night.”
Sirius
couldn’t have agreed any more as he was backed into the bed and straddled.

As
fate would have it, Severus’ room was directly down the hall from Sirius’. Some
time later, Sirius left his lover and walked up the hallway to Snape’s door.
He
stood there for long minutes. The former Gryffindor shrugged his shoulders and intended on going back to his room to read some of
the information his lover got for him, but paused as he heard what sounded like
Snape being sick.
/That’s
funny. I don’t recall him eating much. Ah, who the hell am I kiddin’, the
bastard hardly ever eats./ Figuring is was none
of his business, yet, Sirius turned to go but was stopped again as he heard
something heavy hit the floor.
Without
thinking, Sirius rushed into Snape’s room only to find it clear of said
resident. Upon walking into the bathroom said person was sprawled out in a dead faint. Sirius almost laughed
at seeing his childhood nemesis unconscious but didn’t as his eyes were drawn
to the overly large stomach on the normal thin and slender man.
There
was nothing for it. Snape in all his robeless glory was pregnant and that jarred Sirius
into action.
