Chapter Two Message revealed

“What the fuck does that snarky bastard want from me?” she wondered. Before she opened the rest of the message she placed the bird out side on the windowsill and said the counter spell to revive it. The bird flapped and pecked at the closed window in vain. Finally it flew off.

She opened the message. It read: Ms Granger I have a topic I would like to discuss with you of the utmost secrecy. Can you meet me at Hogwarts at 8pm this evening? Please come alone. I will meet you in McGonagall’s office.
Hermione did not know why but this message was both terrifying and alluring. After Dumbledore’s murder, and Voldermort’s death, it came out how Snape was a spy and how he was instrumental in Voldermort’s downfall. He was now a free man, which was a first in his adult life. He had kept on teaching at Hogwarts, even as McGonagall had ascended to headmistress. She hired a teacher to teach first and second year potions and defense against the dark arts, while Snape taught third through seventh years of both studies. Hermione still kept in touch with McGonagall and several times she had begged her to take a position. Hermione wondered if this was another attempt. “But why involve Snape” she asked herself out loud.

It was six at night as Hermione prepared a light supper for herself. She hummed as she sat down and ate. This meeting held some kind of promise she was sure of it. She let her mind wander as she ate, thinking back to her days at Hogwarts. The most challenging classes were potions and divination. She had to give up divination because she either did not have the talent for it or was not a good enough liar. She suspected the latter but constantly second guessed herself and her talents. Since Hogwarts she had read every book on divinations she could get her hands on, hoping to master it, somehow. It still eluded her. Snape’s potions classes were not much better in that he graded her far harder than the others. Though she could at least memorize formulas and ingredients.

Her mind wondered if Snape was the same as he had been a decade before. Would he wear the same robes, and have the same haircut. Would he look as handsome when absorbed in making a potion?
