Harry cried out in pain as his neck was attacked by Draco Malfoy. Draco . . . his nemesis . . a VAMPIRE?! ‘Oh double shit! When did this happen?!’ Harry thought to himself through a fog of pain and . . . and what? It had hurt at first but now, now it was starting to feel . . . just . . . so. . . right. What in the world was happening to him? Wasn’t Malfoy ripping out his throat?! But it felt . . . good . . NO! He tried to move his hands to Draco’s face, to push him away but he felt so weak . . . so helpless . . .his thoughts drifted into nothingness and darkness . . . it was alright.
Draco relished the feel of Potter’s skin breaking against his fangs, and he smiled as he started to take the boy-who-lived’s life sustenance. For such a pain in the ass, Merlin he tasted sweet! He swallowed and felt his own veins quickly burst with fire . . . something wasn’t right . . . something was different now than it had been when he had taken blood from others . . . his own heart started to race and all he could do was inhale the sweet smell around him . . .
His fingers tightened against Potter’s arms and he felt the need to keep drinking, keep taking and yet when he heard Potter moan, very quietly, very sweetly the realization of an impending connection hit him. They were both enjoying this - loving this - needing this. ‘You’ll know, Draco. It’s in their blood, and when it gets in you, you’ll know that they're the one . . .’ his father had said oh so recently. And it had come to pass. Harry Potter was the one. Well, shit.
“NO!” Draco growled out, pushing Harry away, sending him sprawling on the floor. He wiped at his mouth in disgust. “I won’t believe it! I won’t have HIM!” he yelled and hurled himself through the sea of student’s bodies who stood still, who still watched, horrified. They parted with haste, not wanting to get in the way of his startling need for departure.
“Draco! DRACO! Get back here now!” Severus Snape cried out, still in shock. “Everyone OUT! Out of the room right now!” he ordered, moving towards where Harry Potter lay abandoned on the floor.
“Harry,” Hermione sobbed . . . she too had been frozen with shock, with fear, unable to understand or comprehend the rapid events that had taken place around them. For the rest of the class it had seemed as though time had flown, but for Harry and Draco it no doubt had been an eternity of heaven and hell.
“You too, Miss Granger! Mr. Weasley get her out of here now!” Severus Snape growled at the two remaining figures. He moved quickly forward to kneel before the damaged boy on the floor. “Damn you Potter, you would have to only further complicate things wouldn’t you!” he said quietly out loud as he turned harry’s neck to inspect the damage.
“M’sorry,” Harry murmured quietly, with his eyes still shut. “Hurts . . “
“Yes I suspect it does now, doesn’t it,” Snape huffed and tried to ignore the smell of blood that lifted up into the air and to his own nose. No that wouldn’t do - he would ignore it - this one was taken even if his mate had just denied him. Severus knew the rules. Besides . . . he had long ago lost what was his . . .
“You try my very soul, Mr. Potter.” Snape sighed and lifted the young, annoying, arrogant (in his opinion) Gryffindor, now another vampire’s mate, into his arms and headed steadily for the hospital wing to try and undo what damage had been done.
