Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
A game or two...
A/N: I do not own any of the characters that you will recognize. I don’t own the basic ideas either they all belong to J.K. Rowling. I do own the original characters that you do not recognize and the main plot of the story. If any of it seems really familiar I apologize before hand, though I do promise that it will mostly be an original idea. I wrote this story when I was a freshman in high school, now I’m a freshman in college so there are a lot of things that I have to correlate with. I do intend to disregard Severus Snape’s parentage and most of the sixth book.
Summary: Hermione plays a teenage-ish game or two, as she continues to ignore her personal issues, at least for the time being.
Chapter 2: A game or two…
Hermione continued to regard the twins with suspicion, unfortunately before she could ask them what they were up to once more, an additional student showed up. Of course it had to be another Slytherin. Aaron Wyatt who could rival Draco Malfoy for the right to be called the ‘Blonde God’ of Hogwarts. She had never personally talked with him. Which may have been a good thing because the creepy smile he sent her way made her shuddered in disgust. They were way too many Slytherins for her to stay in this compartment anymore.
“Uh…well I’ll just be getting on then.”
“Oh don’t! Stay we were just going to get ready to play a game,” Paige whined.
“I don’t think I want to play any games that the three of you are about to engage in. Besides I need to go and find some people.” Hermione quickly made an excuse before heading to the door.
“Yes of course you do. What ever would the Golden Trio do if they were to be parted for such a long period of time?” Snickered the sixth year version of Draco Malfoy.
Hermione tensed, “Humph! Well I’ll play as long as I can go and find another Gryffindor? Three Slytherins against one Gryffindor is hardly fair.”
Copernicus, “Ah I suppose that if you do come back, we can oblige to your condition.”
The Gryffindor in her roared at the challenge. “Oh I’ll be back.” Hermione spat before turning and traipsing about the train looking for Ginny. She found her sitting with Luna near the front, and a wicked smile happened to cross her face. “Hey!”
Ginny and Luna looked up from their conversation. “Hiya Hermione! You coming to sit with us? The boys kicked us out so they could do whatever it is that they do.” Ginny spoke up.
“Actually I was invited to play a game with the Cook twins and that prat Wyatt. Would you like to join us. There will be better odds for me if you do.”
Ginny grimaced, “Ewe…Hermione…Wyatt?”
Luna nudged the red head, “Sure we’ll come.”
The three girls entered the compartment housing the three Slytherins a few minutes later.
Wyatt’s eyes hungrily possessed Ginny. “Damn Granger if I knew you were going to bring along the weaslette I’d have freshened up a bit.” Aaron used the endearing term that Malfoy used when referring to the red-headed viper.
“Oh gross! You pervert.” Ginny snapped and sat as far from him as she could, but in the small compartment that wasn’t saying much. Hermione and Luna wedged into the same seat so that the Slytherins faced the three girls.
“Okay so here’s the game…truth or dare.” Paige stated gleefully.
Hermione groaned, what the hell had she gotten herself into? She was about to play truth or dare with three Slytherins. Life was cruel.
“The rules are these, if your dared you have until Halloween to fulfill it or the rest of us must come up with a punishment. If we find out that you don’t tell the truth regarding a truth question then again the group gets to assign a punishment. Agreed?” Copernicus stated matter-of-factly.
The three girls nodded their agreement almost reluctantly.
“We’ll start this alphabetically so, Copernicus goes first.” Paige clarified.
Copernicus glanced at his companions before turning to the newbies. “Hmm…Loony truth or dare.”
“Her name isn’t Loony!” Hermione spat angrily. Luna placed a hand over Hermione’s and shook her head.
“Don’t worry, I’m used to it.” Luna looked thoughtful for a moment before replying “Truth.”
Aaron rolled his eyes, “Typical.”
“I do believe she had an option.” Ginny glared coldly at the self-indulgent jerk.
Copernicus strained to think of something. “Uh…is it true you were caught slobbering on some guys knob last year by the weeping willow?”
“Ugh… you’re a jackass!” Hermione replied in outrage, “How can you ask her that?!”
“Really Hermione don’t mind them, what more could you expect out of a couple of Slytherins? And no I have not done anything like that. I’d be more discreet than the school grounds anyway.”
Ginny laughed, “and I though I was bad.”
Luna pinned her gaze on Paige, “Truth or dare?”
Paige shifted uneasily in her seat, “Truth…”
The goofy blonde girl smiled cruelly, “ Are you and Panzy Parkinson having sex?”
The Slytherin girl grew pale, and looked to her brother, worried! What would he think of her? “I…I…I’m not a lesbian!” The girl nearly shouted.
Copernicus put a comforting hand on her shoulder, “I already know.”
“But I’m not!” Paige cried desperately.
Copernicus glared at ’Loony’, “You’ll pay for that!”
Ginny shrugged her shoulders, “You set the game, no need to get vindictive, if you don’t want to play we can stop now?”
Paige shook her head no, “Granger, truth or dare?”
“Dare,” Hermione said without hesitation for once. Copernicus and Paige shared a look, that made the frizzy-haired witch wish she had picked truth.
“I dare you to get a permanent tattoo of a snake, with the phrase ‘Slytherin rules,’ on your lower back.”
Hermione grimaced, “Oh good God!”
Ginny snickered next to her, and Hermione had to elbow her sharply, “Your supposed to be on my side!”
Her red-headed friend continued laughing. “Wyatt truth or dare?” She spat angrily.
The younger Slytherin’s eyes widened, he was afraid of Hermione Granger, he had heard many stories about the female companion of Harry Potter. “Truth.”
Hermione nodded in acknowledgement, “Are you a virgin?”
The boy stiffened, and mumbled his answer incoherently underneath his breath.
Ginny grinned maliciously, “What was that, I don’t think anyone heard you?”
“ I said no. Your turn weaslette…truth or dare.”
Ginevra Weasley was never one to turn down a dare, she did grow up with six boisterous brothers. “Dare.”
“I dare you to date a Slytherin for no less than one month.” He grinned in triumph. No Slytherin would willingly date a Gryffindor, so she would have to ask him or await the punishment if the terms weren’t met some Halloween.
Ginny shrugged, “Whatever,…” Just as she was about to ask Copernicus, the train reeled to a stop. “Looks like we’ve arrived at our destination.” She stated the obvious as she stood up and exited the compartment.
Hermione looked at everyone and shrugged shuffling to her feet, and exiting as well. As she stepped off the train and took in the fresh Scotland air she realized that this was her last year. Suddenly she felt sullen, Hogwarts was her home and had always had the answers to all of her problems. Although they weren’t always very clear or found in the library, they usually lay within the stoned walls of the school. She climbed into a carriage and silently vowed that she wouldn’t let this mornings news get her down or throw her through a loop. She would find the answer to her too parentage. Then she would enjoy her seventh and final year at the school for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
