Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
MNK: Yes, I admit it. I’m somewhat of a Harry Potter fan. Mostly, I wrote this for my sister, though. She’s more of a die-hard than I am. This story is an Alternate Universe Fic, where Voldemorte was destroyed in Harry’s fifth year, and Remus Lupin returned to teaching the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, and Severus Snape is a good guy. Draco Malfoy is a jerk, but he’s not evil. Peter Pettigrew was caught and imprisoned, which allowed Sirius to be set free. Dumbledore is still alive, and Viktor Krum is Harry’s age, and is a foreign exchange student at Hogwarts. I have written it this way, because in my own personal opinion (and the opinion of everyone else I’ve asked) the fifth book really sucked. I’m not going to say why, because there are plenty of people who are reading this who haven’t read five and six. I will say this much...after what happened to Sirius in the fifth book, neither Linka, Nada, Major, nor I plan on reading six and seven any time soon. What Snape reputedly did in The Half-Blood Prince was the straw that broke the camel’s back. We probably won’t even watch the movies when they come out.
LNK: Hey, Rowling! Yah had one of THESE today?! (Rude gesture.)
MNK: As I said, Lady Nice Kai is PRETTY PISSED about what happened to Sirius.
LNK: YOU CAN SAY THAT AGAIN!!!
MNK: Okay, Linka. Go take it out on Nada or something. We don’t need your negative vibes ruining this story.
LNK: NEGATIVE VIBES MY ASS! IF SHE COMES NEAR ME, I’M GONNA---
MNK: (Blush) Okay, Linka, back off. You wanna get us hunted down and shot by her posse? Go blow something up, all right?
LNK: (Grumblegrumblegrumblegrumblegrumblegrumblegrumblegrumblgrumble.)
MNK: Whew. Sorry about that. when she gets mad, she GETS MAD! Now, on to the necessaries:
I don’t own Harry Potter, or any of J. K. Rowling’s characters. If I did, it would be WAY different. I own the rangers. I don’t own Nappa, the capsules, or Piccolo---They were created by Akira Toriyama in Dragon Ball and DBZ. If, for some odd reason, you are unsure of whether or not I own something, please check the Miscellaneous part of The Realm Of The Nice Kais.
Chapter 1: Enter the Rangers
It was a dark, stormy night at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Three oddly shaped figures in hooded black cloaks trudged up the steps, and knocked on the heavy front door. It was answered by a slightly balding man who smelled of garbage. “Whaddaya want?” he growled. The tallest whispered something to him. “He’s at dinner. Whaddaya need to talk to ‘im about?” Just then, a tall man with long, silvery white hair and beard, wearing half moon spectacles came up behind him.
“Who is it, Argus?” He looked over the janitor’s shoulder. “Ah, yes. I expected that you’d be here soon. Argus, show them to the East Tower. I‘ll send Hagrid out to fetch their horses.”
As Harry, Ron, Viktor, Ginny, and Hermione passed by the stairway that led to the abandoned East Tower, they noticed three trails of water leading up the stairs, and heard an odd jumble of noises coming from above. “I wonder...” Harry stopped and shook his head, and they continued to Gryffindor tower, just above it. The night was warm, and it had since stopped raining, so the Gryffindor seventh years all left their windows open. Harry was having trouble sleeping. Those trails of water just had to mean something...but what? Just as he was about to drift off, he heard a soft, haunting voice on the wind that blew past the East tower.
“Oh, Mother Lica, hear my plea.
Bring my lover home to me.”
Harry never fell asleep that night.

At the breakfast table, Harry, Ron, and Hermione questioned all the Gryffindor girls. None of them had been singing last night. As it was a Saturday, there was nothing to do but study, so naturally Harry and Ron decided to investigate the East Tower.
“And where do you think you’re going?” The boys spun about in surprise, to face the speaker. Professor Remus Lupin leaned against the wall in an alcove they’d just passed.
“There was singing coming from the East Tower last night. We were going to check it out.” Remus seemed a little surprised.
“Well then, let’s go.” Startled, the boys followed him up the stairs. “Ron, you take the first floor. Harry, check the third. I will take the second.”
“Why are you so interested?” Ron asked curiously.
“You’ll see.” Remus smirked. “You’ll see.” They climbed the spiral staircase, and reached a landing. The whole floor consisted of the stairs, and whatever lay beyond the door in the stone wall. Ron stood outside the door nervously as Harry and Remus headed up to the second and third floors.

The doorknob was cold in Ron’s hand, and he shivered as the haunting singing began again. He gripped his wand tightly, and put an ear against the door.
“Oh, Mother Lica, hear my plea.
Bring my lover home to me.
Oh, Mother Lica, hear my cry.
Bring him soon, else I will die.”
He turned the doorknob and gently pushed the door open.
“Return, to me, Return tonight.
Angel of Darkness, Demon of Light.”
Ron was shocked. A woman sat in the window seat, singing the ethereal chords.
“Oh, Mother Lica, I beg of thee.
Set my long lost lover free.
Oh, Mother Lica, how I ache.
Send him soon, for pity’s sake.”
The woman stopped singing, and took a gentle sniff at the air. She turned to the door, to find Ron, staring at her in shock. She gave a sad smile.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” she said in a soft, sweet, yet somehow depressing voice. “Was I bothering you?” Ron shook his head. A tea kettle on the small stove in the west corner of the room gave a shrill whistle. She cringed, and raced over to pull it off the burner. “Well, come in and have some tea.” Ron closed the door and sat down in the only chair while she rummaged around in the cabinet over the stove. He was fascinated by her. She was of average height, maybe a bit shorter, but more slender than he’d imagined a woman could be. She seemed healthy enough, for her hips and rear were well curved, and her breasts were full. Her hair was about shoulder length, ink black streaked with grape purple. Her flesh (At least what he could see of it) was a pale shade of pink, like the inside of a cockle shell. She wore an odd outfit, too. It consisted of a tight, long sleeved shirt and leggings of purple, with a black mantle. On the mantle, over her left breast, a fleur-de-lis was embroidered in purple. She wore no shoes. She turned to him and handed him a cup of tea. “It’s cranberry.” she said. “Works wonders on the heart.” He took a small sip.
“Who are you?” he asked. She gave another sad smile as she sat on the edge of the bed in the corner.
“My name is Iris Flurdali.” she answered. “I’m a ranger.”
“A ranger? What’s that mean?”
“It means I wander the planet with no true home to tie me down. I live on the land, and the hospitality of others.”
“Oh. Who were you singing about? Bloody ‘ell, this tea is wonderful!” The smile faded, and she walked over to the window, setting her tea cup on the stove.
“I sang of my beloved.” she murmured, fighting back the tears. “His name was Sirius.” Ron nearly spit his tea across the room. “He was framed for a murder he didn’t commit, and last I heard, he was serving a life sentence in Azkaban.”

Just about then, another woman gasped in surprise as she was pulled back into a pair of strong arms. “Remus!” she whispered.
“Yes, Peridot...” he murmured by her ear, laying a gentle kiss on her neck. “I’m back. I’m back, and I’m never letting you go again.”

Up at the third floor landing, Harry knocked at the door. He heard nothing, and opened it. Another door along the wall opened, and a girl about his age came out, dripping wet, drying her face with a towel. Other than the water dotting her skin, she was completely naked. Harry gasped in surprise. She heard him, looked up, and let out an odd squeak, racing back into the bathroom. When she emerged, she had a bathrobe wrapped around her shoulders. Trying to ignore him, and blushing like crazy, she dug through the trunk by the window and carried a wad of clothing back into the bathroom with her.
While she was dressing, Harry reflected back on her appearance. She had soft, elbow length white blonde hair, and a patch of straight, white-blonde fur graced the area between her legs. Her eyes were of the deepest, darkest blue, and her skin was of a pale, creamy tint. But most fascinating were the fact that her blush had been more purple than red and the way her ears came to a point...
...and, of course, the long, blonde, cat like tail that hung behind her.
She couldn’t be human.
When she emerged from the bathroom, she wore black leggings and a skin-tight dark blue midriff. She eyed him warily as she sat down on the bed. “I...didn’t know you were...bathing...” Harry stuttered. She smiled at his unease, and sprawled out like a cat.
“Iris’ singing woke you up too, eh? Sit down.” He saw no chair, so he sat on the edge of the bed. “What’s your name?”
“Harry, Miss. Harry Potter.”
“My name is Sapphire Lazuli Gemasia.”
“I...don’t mean to be rude, but...er...what are you? You have a tail.”
“So do my two sisters!” she laughed. “Iris is half Saijin, but Peridot and I are pure-bred Salzains. Saijins are like humans with tails, but their sister race, the Salzains, are evolved from a cat-like creature called an Ozarro. Both races are from Planet Vegeta.” Her tail twitched beside her.
“I’m...sorry I walked in on you.” he blushed. “I didn’t realize you were in the shower.”
“It’s alright. I shouldn’t have come out without clothing. Besides, the great Mother Lica taught us that those who’ve nothing to hide, have no need for shame. Modesty, yes, but not shame.”
“Who’s Mother Lica?”
“A greatly powerful Salzain who lived on planet Platyao. Back then, a group of people known as the Anir, were held in slavery by a race known as the Tri-Clopsians. Lica and her twin brother Shreah were caught organizing a revolt. They were surrounded by Clopsians, and chose the only way out...Kamikaze.”
“What’s that?”
“Every living being in the solar system possesses a power known as ‘Chi.’ It is the energy we generate by living, also known as our ‘Life Energy.’ In Kamikaze, you raise your chi until your body cannot handle it.”
“Then what happens?” She shrugged.
“Boom.” He flinched. “You explode into a cloud of dust. When they did this, their chi spread throughout the Universe, through Time and Space, and infected plants, rocks, and animals with bits of Mother Lica and Father Shreah’s spirits. Eventually, that rock, plant, or animal would transfer that energy to a more powerful life form, like a Saijin or Salzain woman. When she next became pregnant, that chi took over the unborn child, implanting a bit of their soul into it. If a girl was born, she would be a Lican. If not, he would be a Shrean. Never has Mother Lica had a son in this fashion, (Or at all, for that matter) and the same goes for Father Shreah. He’s never had a daughter.”

Remus clutched Peridot tightly as her tail curled around his leg. “I’ve missed you so...” he murmured, nuzzling her neck. “I thought I’d die when you left...” She just purred, tangling her fingers in his long, shaggy graying hair.
“Less talk, more love.” she sneered wickedly.
“If you insist...” Remus smirked, holding her close.

About half an hour later, Ron and Iris climbed the stairs to find Peridot and Remus waiting on the landing. Together, they ascended the stairs to Sapphire’s room. There, they found Sapphire and Harry sitting on the bed looking through a photo album. “And this is my Lican sister Roseanne and her husband Nappa.” She pointed to a young woman with long, finely curled indigo hair and navy eyes, standing in the arms of an enormous man with severe black eyes, no hair, a mischievous smirk, and a long, black handlebar mustache. Her finger slid over to a photo of a woman with short white hair streaked of purple, silver, and lavender. Holding her was a tall man with green skin, no hair, and large, pointed ears. “...And THAT’S my Lican sister Kittel, and her husband, Piccolo.” They noticed their company. “Oh, hey girls! Just introducing Harry to the family.” Introductions were made. Harry was amazed when he met Peridot. She looked just like Sapphire! The only difference was her pale green, gem-like eyes, and that she looked to be about twenty, while Sapphire appeared to be around eighteen-----Harry’s age.
It was obvious from the start that Harry and Sapphire were rather sweet on one another, and that Peridot and Remus had been in love for a long time. “Why don’t you ladies join us for lunch this afternoon?” Remus suggested. “I’m sure the headmaster wouldn’t mind.” Everyone turned to Peridot, who was obviously the eldest.
“Well,” She saw the look on Sapphire’s face. “All right. You can go. Personally, I’m going to stay here, and do some reading. But so help me, if you start any brawls, we’re leaving!”
