  • His grey eyes glinted with an anger as he surveyed the scene. He had decided to step in and check out his son. He didn’t know why his instinct was telling him to enter the roomy chambers of Draco, but Lucius had learned to trust that instinct, to do what it said (unless it was something he knew would send him to Azkaban), and rarely question it. He simply obeyed, and he had his reasons. Oh yes, he had his reasons. Lucius took a step forward, the soft leather sole creating a click as it started toward Draco’s bed in silent anger. Lucius could hear the breathing of a deep sleep coming from the silken sheets. His son’s cheek was still nuzzled against Blaise’s penis, a look of pure content on his swarmy face. He glanced at the two bodies, his eyes narrow slits of hatred, and he hung his onyx cloak. He stated at the two boys a few more seconds, watching the alabaster-toned body of his son rise slowly up and down. He watched the descending air escape when suddenly, a flash of a flesh-coloured blur materialised in front of his face, slapping across that pale skin in front of him. He smiled as he listened to the cry of pain coming from his son’s lips. Draco stumbled to get up, to protect himself from the pain, but the oncoming of the backhands and closed fists kept Draco down on the midnight sheets.

Blaise had woken beside them, a look of horror on his face, watching the elder climb on top of Draco so as to hit and mutilate the soft, ashen skin even better. Blood spurted from Malfoy’s cheek as the fist came away. His lips swelled, and Lucius could feel the blood drying in a sticky sweetness that pleased him through and through. He could feel Zabini tugging on his arm, trying to get the enraged parent off. The air was full of humidity, and he felt the liquid of Draco’s tears, and the screams started to exit the maw, but Lucius could barely hear them; he could barely hear the cries of “I’m sorry, Daddy,” through the ringing in his ears. He shoved Zabini off him and walloped the body that lay underneath him once again. His vision began to lose its focus, and he knew one thing: he never wanted this to happen again, and Lucius was to make sure his son got the message. He watched the salt water tears mix with the crimson blood, and Lucius’s memories began to flood back into his mind. He tried to push them away, but every slap, every brush of bare skin against his, reminded him of why he hated this act so much. I remember, he thought, his mind starting to backtrack. I remember, I remember

I remember the scarlet engine, its white smoke billowing and flying to become part of some stratus cloud or perhaps even a cirrus so that it could look down at the other cotton-white objects floating in the blue oblivion. My golden hair flowed over my shoulders in silky waves. Five years of study at Hogwarts had passed, and I boarded the train for my sixth year. I flew to the centre compartment, my friends already saving me a seat. My smoky eyes glanced over to Romulus, his light golden brown hair was fluttering in the wind, the chocolate brown eyes danced with a light of the risen sun, its beams streaming through the window. He gave a cocky grin as I entered, pleasantly pleased.

    “Last year, Lucius.”

“For you, maybe,” I answered. Next, he flashed a smile. God, I’ll never forget it: rows of perfect, sparkling teeth, his canines pointed to a sharp end, perfect for ripping flesh, and I turned to Dominic to see if I could see if there was any signs of jealousy on his face. He turned toward me, his highlighted hair shining with tints of red and blonde hidden in a sea of chestnut. His ice blue eyes simply made any girl swoon. Hell, they even made me sweat, and my throat would go dry every time he stared into the depths of my soul. He leaned forward, his face a pure neutral. Dominic’s black shirt stretched tight, threatening to pop a seam as his muscles bulged. His black jeans pressed tight against him, and I never could see how he could stand it. I mean, a dick’s gotta breathe. Then, he looked into my eyes, and I felt my breath go short. I watched as he leaned closer to me, and I remember thinking
Oh, God, he’s going to kiss me. It wasn’t a fearful thought, or even one of those awkward ones that you seem to never stop thinking about, and you end up revolving your life around it. It was just a thought, something you didn’t have an adjective for. Another had followed soon after, and it whispered in my ear, “You know you want it.” I quickly pushed it away, my mind set on what was coming, but I remember he had stopped short, a triumphant smirk plastered on his face as he shook his head.

    “You’re hopeless.”

“What do you mean?” I asked quizzically. Dom just shook his head, and left the conversation at a cliff hanger as usual. Then, he leaned back into his seat, giving no explanation of his odd statement. We were too used to this to care, even if it added another cell of confusement to our minds. Rhomus shook his head, that cocky grin still in play as he cried,

“We’re hopeless, Dom? At least we can answer or explain when we say something . . . unique.”

“Watch it, Lupin.” A vibration came from Romulus’s throat, a deep trickling growl. It was quiet and settle; Dominic was only annoying the seventh year. Obviously, Dominic had heard it also for he didn’t press the subject, but I also knew he wouldn’t apologize to anyone. The growling ceased yet a yellow tint still gleamed in his eyes. My muscles loosened, glad that a fight wasn’t about to start. Dominic leaned his head forward, playing with the shadows so it highlighted his greater aspects. Shades of red danced across his face, turning his eyes to an amethyst ice. I always felt so insignificant next to their godly beauty. Sure, I was handsome as a teenager, but compared to those two, I was an amateur.

The train continued on down the track, and we brought back the memories of the past years. Romulus smiled, a look of content ness on his face when he brought the subject to James and the gang. I laughed,

“I still say you should’ve bitten him.” He shrugged.

“What’s it matter? It’s not like he could get lycanthropy from me. I told you before that I’m not a werewolf, and even if I was, I would have to be in animal form to spread it anyway.” Then, Dominic stated,

“I don’t believe you. I mean, if you aren’t a werewolf, how come your eyes turn when you get ticked off, and what about that horrible flesh craving you always seem to have?” Rhomus shook his head in slight annoyment. How many times had Lupin reasoned with Dominic? Hell, if I had a clue. I just accepted the reason he gave for his odd quirks. Dominic raised an eyebrow, waiting for the answer. Rhomus sighed as he began his usual statement,

“I told you how many times now? It’s in my . . .”

“Your blood,” Dominic interrupted. “Yeah, give me a story that’s believable. Oh, wait, you can’t because there isn’t one, is there?” Romulus opened his mouth to speak, but I had beaten him to it.

“Oh, shut up. Look, I don’t care if you believe him or not, but he can’t be a werewolf, a wererat, a werelion, or a wereanything. For one thing, have you ever seen him transform on the full moon? No! Now, I’m not doubting there’s something fishy about the blood line story such as whom did he get it from? However, he’ s not doing any harm to us so what’s it matter?” Then, Lupin did release a few words, though they were no longer towards the brunette.

“I didn’t need your defence, Malfoy. I could’ve handled it myself. And I know where I got my qualities, thank you very much, and it is my choice if I wish to divulge that information, and my choice alone.” I simply shook my head. I
knew I shouldn’t have gotten involved, but their constant bickering had driven me insane last year, and we hadn’t even gotten to school, and they had already started.

“Well, maybe if you two actually
agreed in something, you wouldn’t be fighting all the time, and if you weren’t fighting all the time, I wouldn’t have butted in, or defending your honour as you put it, so therefore we wouldn’t be having this conversation, would we?” Then, I heard it. The growl of Romulus Lupin. It wasn’t the low, warning growl he had given Dominic earlier, but it was loud and threatening. I had ticked him off. The trembling yet steady noise grew louder as he stalked toward me. I could feel my heart skip a beat, and my mouth go dry. I should have known better than to pin the blame on them. Romulus was a deadly enemy, even if he wasn’t a werewolf. You could tell something was there, something unnatural, and who knows, maybe he wouldn’t have been as bad if he wasn’t in his “blood line.” I could feel his breath, hot against my throat. His lips were pulled back in a snarl. God, he’s going to rip my throat out. His eyes were a full amber, and I could feel him coming closer, causing me to sink back in the seat. I watched as he got ready to lunge when a muscled arm held him back.

“Dominic, let me go,” he growled. “Mr. Malfoy needs to learn that no one talks back to me and gets away with it.”

“Romulus . . .” I watched as the wolf eyes turned toward the god behind him. I watched his tensed muscles relax, and I watched him fall back into his seat. Dominic let go, and I knew the creature wouldn’t do anything as long as Dom was in the compartment, but if he left, I would be in trouble. My cool eyes followed him, and he stared back intently. Next, I heard the shuffling of feet near the door. I turned my head to see Dominic opening the compartment door, readying to leave.

“W-where are you going?” I stammered.

“I need to ask something.” My eyes turned back to Romulus. Was he nuts to leave me here . . . alone with Romulus? My smoky orbs swivelled back to Dominic Désir as I asked,

“Can I come with you?” He shrugged, and turned, and I hurried after him, glad to put space between those amber wolf-like eyes. We walked a few compartments down when we stopped. He pivoted toward me, a solemn look on his face.

“What were you thinking?” he cried. “Starting an argument with Romulus?” It’s different when I do it; he holds some respect for me. Maybe not a lot, but enough so that he won’t get too cocky. Lucius, you should know I won’t always be there to protect you, and I hate to burst your bubble, but the Dark Lord doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you. You’ll just be a toy to him, something he can play with and then throw away. And I really hate to lecture, especially about picking fights, but I’m telling you this: don’t pick a fight with Romulus again! I’m only saving your rich ass from him once.” I had nothing to say, and I wouldn’t have trusted myself to say anything anyway. I would have just started an argument with Dominic, and I knew I’d rather be in a fight with Romulus than Dominic. Dominic was more likely to protect me from Lupin than Lupin was to protect me from Dominic. I looked at him, barely three feet from his body when the train gave a sudden jolt. My body lunged against his, and I could feel the warmth of his blood running through his veins. A faint, salty smell whispered off of him as my long blonde hair draped over his arms in pleasant waves of sunshine. The beat of his heart pulsed against my skin, and I remember feeling myself start to go hard. I quickly pulled away, disappointed not to be against his luscious abs anymore, but I also didn’t want him to know I was getting a turn-on. I looked at him for a few more seconds, licking my lips, wanting to get away. Slowly, I stumbled backwards, going to the only place that would make sense: our compartment. My shoes scuffed the floor as I trailed toward the door, trying to find the handle with my hands when he said,

“Don’t be upset you got a boner, Lucius. It’s happened to other guys before, some even taking off screaming by the fact they were ‘happy’ about another man. It’s not your fault anyway. It’s mine.” My hand, clasped white to the compartment handle, loosened, letting a rush of oxygen, nutrients, and blood cascade to the fingertips. I opened my mouth to speak, closed it, opened it once more, and closed it again, shaking my head. He just stood there, patiently as I tried to collect my thoughts. I had finally gathered them into my word basket, and I opened my mouth to speak once more.

    “How is it
your fault?” Dominic smirked, his hair now creating a golden glow, and I could hear a deep chuckle coming from the inside.

“Because, my dear Malfoy, I am an incubus.”

“But I thought incubi and succubi had those huge leathery bat wings.”

“Yes and no,” he answered. “Incubi can take many forms, that is just the common body. So it really isn’t your fault; I’m the one that’s sending off sex vibes. Now, let’s go back and have a chat with Lupin. He should be calmed down by now.” I watched as he walked past me, and I started to think
I don’t care what he says, I don’t believe that him being an incubus has anything to do with my emotions, maybe his beauty and his sex lust. It probably even has to do with the other guys’ hormones, but I don’t think his linage has anything to do with me. Oh God, how that thought frightened me. I entered after Dominic, staring ahead, or trying to. I tried to control the way my eyes slid to his bottom, the way his hips glided in that smooth, inhuman fashion. Dammit, don’t think about that. I saw Romulus look up, his eyes back to his normal chocolate brown. I tried to continue staring at those eyes, but every move the incubus made drew my attention. In fact, it felt like he was putting sex vibes out now. It felt like he wanted me to notice him. Then, a thought that had never crossed my mind came. Is he gay? Hell, am I gay? Of course you’re not, I told myself. You’ve had plenty of sex with girls, and you enjoyed it, but . . . no, don’t think about it! You’re not gay, get it? I could feel the train slowing down while I stood in that confined space with the sexiest man had ever met, and I couldn’t think of a time when I had been happier that the train was stopping. I would get back into the bustle of school, and then I wouldn’t notice him (as much).

I stepped inside, sat down at the Slytherin table, and listened to the old fool, Dumbledore, give his start of term notices. I watched as the feast materialised in front of us after the Sorting had finished. I was about to dig in when it happened. Another problem had walked in on me. I didn’t know it then, but the new problem would effect my whole life.
