Harry's eyes widened marginally. "Draco... what?"
Seeing the fragile sobs that were running through Draco's form, Harry quickly moved to Draco's
side, only to be blocked by a large, shaking hand.
"Don't, please!" The other boy croaked.
A piece of Harry's heart died when he heard those words. "Draco...?"
"I'm so sorry....! So sorry... I never meant to hurt you, love. I'm upset, if you come to close...
what if, if I... it again, or something worse!" The last word came out as a near shout, sending
Harry's mind on a roller coaster ride.
It did not take him long to understand. When he did, his eyes narrowed as the almost two-month
long memory sifted to the top of his head.
Harry's feet carried him with delicate steps twards Draco, and as his angelic head lifted itself up,
eyes wide and afraid, Harry slapped him across the face.
With strong and melodic words Harry finally replied, "Now we're even, darling." Harry fell to his
own knees then, and pulled Draco, who was still clutching his face and breathing hard with shock,
closer to him.
Pushing Draco's head into his lap, and stroking his hair, Harry whispered, "And darling, don't you
ever assume that you know what or what not I can handle. If I had wanted to kill you for hitting me
in December, I would have with a flick of my wrist. I hadn't, however, and you're still here.
You're mine, love, and no one can take you away from me. Not even yourself."
