  • AN: Ok, someone asked why do Dursley's have a floo? LOL, and I thought that Harry being girl was more bigger issue. Well this is AU so some things are just not how they should be. For example, how do Dursley's even know the Malfoy's? Hmm.. that is a good question that will not be answered. There has to be some self-evident facts other wise it takes me forever to get this story anywhere.
    So enjoy this next chapter!

    Chapter Two
    -~-Getting to know one another-~-

Draco was humming as he walked towards his father's study. He had been planning his and Harry's first date for a few days now and he wanted it to be perfect. If the kiss had been any indication she would be happy to go out with him. He saw the door to Lucius' study was open. He knocked briefly but stepped in anyway. Lucius lifted his gaze but only for a moment as he continued to read the piece of paper in front of him. "Sit down, Draco," he said without even glancing at him.

Draco sat as instructed and took his time to inspect his own nails. He looked up when his father spoke.

"This is the marriage contract that binds us. The Dursley's will be coming over as soon as you officially propose to her. You are doing it soon, I hope."

Draco sighed. "I'm courting her at the moment. It would be nice to actually decide when we are getting married by ourselves."

Lucius stood up and said as he was walking over his cabinet, "I heard some ugly rumors about her." He poured a drink for himself as he spoke, "I've heard that she has been more or less sleeping around. Do you still want to marry her after this?"

Draco glared at his father's back. "She still has the status and money we are after, right?"

Lucius chuckled. "Yes, she does." He turned around, sipping his drink as he watched his son's changing expressions.

"Then there is nothing to worry about." Draco sneered as he turned to leave. He fumed as he walked down the corridor towards his room. That bitch! He would have wanted her to be virgin like he himself. It would have been nice to discover sex with her and learn what she liked but now that he knew there had been someone else before him able to do that... He wasn't going to forgive this so easily. He would remember it and ask her about it when the time was right.

Besides, he didn't know the circumstances behind it. Had she be willing? Had she been in love? He knew that these kind of thoughts should not matter but still they disturbed him. He wanted his wife to be loyal and if there had been someone she loved before him, he knew it would be a long road ahead to have her love him as he would love her. He knew his father loved his mother, even though he didn't show it that often. Their marriage had been arranged as well but that hadn't been a problem.

Draco frowned. Would she learn to love him? What did he have besides money and good looks? He had never dated any girls or even seriously considered marrying one but now he had to live with one for the rest of his life. When his father had brought this turn of events to his notice, he had been thinking ever since, bearing in his mind that he would have to get married soon anyway.

Draco sighed as he reached his room. He didn't want his father spoil his happy mood but somehow he always had ability to do it anyway. Taking a deep breath he opened the door and as he suspected his mother was sitting on his bed.

"Mother," he greeted her as he closed the door.

"Draco, honey, have you come to decision over the issue?"

His mother's smile warmed him and he smiled back at her. "Yes, mother, I will marry her. I can't see any harm in doing that."

His mother jumped up from the bed. "That's wonderful, Draco!" she squealed in happiness and rushed to hug him. "You will be perfect for each other. She will make my little Dragon happy." She kissed his cheek.

He blushed at her words. "Mom!" he felt as if he was 8 years old again. His mother had not called him Dragon for long time now.

"But darling I have the right to kiss you and call you what ever I want," she said ruffling up his hair.

Draco smirked as he tried to get away from her. "Stop it, mum," he pleaded.

She smiled at him and let him go. "It almost time for dinner," she said as she walked to the door. "Oh, and Dragon?"

He looked at her wondering what it would be this time. "Yes, Mother?"

Mischief danced in her eyes. "She will be coming for dinner," she said quickly and left before her son could protest.

Not that he did. His mouth was open as he was going to respond to his mother but closed it with a smile. Now it would be a perfect chance to get to know his princess a little more.

    ~***~

Family dinner was always a pleasant occasion in the Malfoy family. Draco knew that Harry would be here any minute but he didn't know if the Dursley's had been invited. He hoped not. He wanted to have his time with Harry first before he had to even think about meeting her family.

He made his way to the dining room with a slight skip in his step. He knew that his mother would be waiting in there. He also knew that who ever the guest was they would be arriving with his father. It was a custom they had always had. Draco stepped inside the room and greeted her mother with a smile. "Mother," he said as he kissed her cheek.

"Dragon," she said, winking at him and kissed him back.

Draco couldn't help but smile. This marriage thing had brought happiness into his mother's eyes and he was glad for it. It had been quite a while since she had been honestly happy about things. She smiled at lot but the smiles had not reached her eyes. Now the change was welcome, in addition, it made Draco happy too.

The doors opened before Draco could take his seat. There besides his father stood his bride to be, Harry. Draco couldn't take his eyes of her but he knew he should go and greet her too. He walked over to his father and Harry, taking hold of her hand. He kiss her cheek as he did his mother's. "Nice to see you again, Harry."

"Likewise, Draco," she greeted and kissing his cheek.

Her kiss left him long for more but he pushed the thought away. Now was not the time to think about that kind of things. "Come," he took hold of her arm and led her to her seat. He took the one opposite her.

Lucius sat down at the end of the table and Narcissa was seated across him on the other end. She smile kindly to Harry and asked how she was. They continued their small talk until the food arrived.

Harry's eyes were wide as she looked at all the different foods before her. Draco smiled but there was a thought nagging at the back of his mind; what kind of food was she accustomed to at home if she thought this was amazing?

They filled their plates and Narcissa started a conversation yet again. "I've heard that you go to the same school as Draco, Harry."

Harry paused as she was just about to take a bit of her steak. "Yes," she answered and the fork in her hand reached her mouth. She savoured the taste and waited for Narcissa to continue.

Draco was a bit surprised by the news. He had not even noticed that she existed before. It could be she was younger than him or he had not just noticed her. He observed her closely. She was beautiful but not overly. He felt ashamed as he thought how he could have dated her at school if he had just even glanced her way.

His mother directed him a look that told him more than words could have. She knew that he hadn't seen her before he had met her in his own home.

Narcissa smiled at her, taking her wine glass into her hand. "Draco has not mentioned you before. Did you meet him at school?"

Harry shook her head. "No," she said and looked as if she wanted to continue but didn't know if she should. "I'm shy and I don't make a fuss of myself. I like to be alone most of the time. I've seen Draco many times but never approached him as I thought he would not believe me if I told him I was his fiancée."

Then it dawned to Draco. She probably was a half-blood. He remembered hearing that her relatives were muggles. She couldn't be muggleborn since his father would never let him marry one. If she was a half-blood, it would explain why he hadn't paid any attention to her.

"What house are you in?" he asked and knew that it seemed extremely rude that he didn't know it already.

Harry smiled nervously. "Gryffindor," she answered quietly as if Draco would bit her head off.

Draco just nodded and saw that she was visibly relieved he had not said anything. He resumed his eating and let the talking to his mother who was very interested in her life. He needed time to think. He wanted to mull over the facts and have time to consider if this girl was the one he wanted. The fact that she was a Gryffindor didn't bother him. The fact that she was half-blood didn't matter but her relatives being muggles was disturbing.

What did they actually know about the wizarding world? They must know something if they allowed Harry to attend Hogwarts. When his plate was clean of food, Draco took his glass and sipped the drink while listening his mother and Harry's conversation.

It didn't take long when his father stood up and announced that they could take the conversation to the lounge. Harry thanked for the wonderful meal and followed Narcissa. Draco went wit them as he wanted to hear as much as possible about Harry and her thoughts.

Giffy once again brought tea and biscuits for them. Lucius had gone to his study which suited Draco just fine. He didn't want his father to hear the glorious details of Harry's life. Narcissa was pressuring Harry to tell what she thought about the marriage arrangement. Harry was tight lipped for some reason and kept glancing towards Draco once in a while.

Narcissa took the hint and said that there was something she had to take care of and left them alone. They were silent for a moment

"Do you remember your fifth year and your birthday?" Harry suddenly asked.

Draco was surprised but got over it soon. He looked at her suspecting that she knew something he didn't. "Yes, and I remember getting a card and a gift that no one of my friends hadn't gave me."

Harry blushed. "I had just found out that you are my fiancé and I couldn't help but buy you something."

"So it as you?" Draco asked the obvious. Now that he thought about it, it made sense. He had received a card that said, to my Dragon and as a gift he got a bronze dragon. He had thought it was strange but still kept the statuette.

    She nodded, blushing.

"I still have it," he said and she looked surprised.

"You do? I thought you would have thrown it away."

Draco shook his head. "Never. It was really beautiful gift and I was really disappointed when I didn't get another one last year."

Now she was blushing badly, hiding her head in her hands. He slid closer to her on the settee. "Come on, I'll show you I still have it," he said, taking her hands away from her face. They walked towards his room and suddenly he got nervous. He had never let anyone he didn't know into his room and now he was taking his fiancée there. He was hoping she would not find something that she thought appalling in there.

They reached the door to his room and he gulped hoping she didn't hear it. Opening the door, the went inside. He let her go but put a hand on her lower back as he guided her towards the fireplace. Above it on the edge was the little dragon figure. He let her stare at it in peace.

"You actually kept it," she whispered, looking at him.

"Yeah," he hoarsely answered. His mouth was dry and his throat felt tight. He wanted to kiss her so bad. Her face was so close. He didn't know where these kind of feelings had came but he didn't care. She was going to marry him and he had every right to kiss her, to touch her as he much as liked.

In the next moment he had pulled her against his chest, kissing her senseless.

It was too soon that she had to go. He escorted her to the fireplace they used only for floo. With a brief kiss he sent her home. Now he had to start planning their first date and he wanted it to be perfect.

AN: I admit, I just love to make Lucius a bastard. He kinda deserves it in a way in my opinion.
Hmm, well review, that makes my day.
