Title: To Save Professor Snape

Rating: M

Summary: Takes place during fourth year Yule Ball. Karkaroff
and his students Imperio Snape and Hermione and the only witness is Harry. When
Hermione becomes pregnant it�s up to Harry, Remus, Luna, and Draco to insure
that Snape isn�t sent to Azkaban.

Chapter 2: Harry, Lucius, Luna, And
Germany

�� It took
several months and the completion of the Tri-wizard Tournament for Lucius to
finally return Harry�s request and tell him that he knew which village that
Igor had talked about. Hermione was due in a few months and so far Dumbledore
hadn�t been able to get Snape on anymore then running away from his post. Ron
and Ginny weren�t talking to him because he was continuing supporting Hermione.

�� I can�t wait for my baby to be born,�
Hermione told them tears in her eyes. �I�m just so
excited.�

�� Well you should
be, Granger, I bet the boy will be even smarter then you,� Draco said.

�� Another
Know-it-all,� Lucius teased.

�� Oh stop it,�
Hermione said. �So how long will it be before you find him?�

�� In a few days,�
Harry said. �Then we�ll work on getting Igor sent to Azkaban. That should be a
laugh.�

�� Okay but make sure
you bring Snape back,� Hermione told them. �I want him here when Salazar is
born.�

�� You�ve already
decided on a name?� Harry said.

�� Yes,� Hermione
told him. �I couldn�t waste anymore time.�

�� We�ll make sure
that Snape is here for Salazar�s birth,� Lucius vowed.

Hermione smiled at them all and Harry, Lucius, and Luna both
left the castle.

�� It took a
lot longer for Harry, Lucius, and Luna to arrive in the small village that had
such a long name that not even Harry could pronounce it. Lucius used his vast
knowledge of magic to track Snape down and sure enough he was just standing
there in the middle of a room, his eyes glazed over from the multiple Imperio�s.
Harry and Luna gasped at the state of a man that had once been feared in the
classroom.

�� Oh this is going
to break Hermione�s heart,� Luna said.

�� It�s breaking
mine,� Harry admitted.

�� We need to get him
to St. Mungo,� Lucius told them. �He has spell damage.�

Harry and Luna both nodded and then they were gone.

�� The Healers
at St. Mungo at once worked on Snape to help with his spell damage mind. When
Harry told Hermione, who was now nine months pregnant about the state of his
mind, she cried.

�� The Healers fear
that he might not be the same person,� Luna told her.

�� Oh poor Severus,�
Hermione cried. �When can people visit him?�

�� In a few weeks,�
Harry answered and he saw Hermione touching her stomach.

�� Oh why did
Karkaroff do this?� Hermione cried out. �Sirius warned us that he was bad.�

�� I know and I�m not
telling Sirius that you�re pregnant with Snape�s child not with Snape suffering
spell damage. I�m afraid he might finish him off.�

Hermione nodded and then that�s when the painting opened and
in walked Professor McGonagall.

�� Miss Granger, the
Headmaster wishes to see you,� she said.

�� I�ll see you
later,� Hermione told Harry and Luna and then left.

�� When she
arrived in the Headmaster�s office she saw Fudge was there as well. Fudge
looked at Hermione with pity and Hermione just glared at him then sneered. He
looked away and then Dumbledore spoke.

�� Miss Granger,�
Dumbledore said. �I know that this has been a trying time with your O.W.L.S
coming but we need for you to file a report of rape against Mr. Snape.�

That one line got Hermione mad. �Oh so it�s Mr. Snape what
about Professor Snape?� Hermione asked. �Isn�t he your Head of Slytherin House
and Potions Master?�

�� Not anymore,�
Dumbledore said. �Slughorn is coming to take over the post. As soon as Mr.
Snape is released from St. Mungo he will be sent to Azkaban.�

�� Over my dead body,�
Hermione hissed. �He was placed under the Imperius Curse and Harry saw it. I
was placed under it as well and I will tell everyone at the Ministry of Magic
the truth. You�re not depriving Malfoy of his Godfather as you did Harry.�

Dumbledore turned white and Fudge spoke.

�� Albus, if Miss
Granger doesn�t want to file charges then I can�t force her,� Fudge said. �I�m
sorry but that�s the law.�

�� Sorry, Albus, but
that�s the law,� Hermione taunted.

�� Don�t-.�

�� Albus, the girl is
very upset about what you�ve suggested,� Fudge said. �I�m sure that we can give
her allowance.�

Dumbledore gave Fudge a nasty look and then the door was
knocked on.

�� Come in,� Dumbledore
called.

The door opened and in walked Remus and woman that Hermione
had never seen, Harry, Luna, Draco, and Lucius.

�� You�re not forcing
Hermione to do anything she doesn�t want to do,� Hermione told the Headmaster.
�And I don�t care if you think your so high and mighty. Severus didn�t do
anything wrong, he was put under the Imperius curse by Igor Karkaroff.�

� �Oh Karkaroff is
mentioned,� Fudge said, looking delighted.

�� And almost all his
students,� Harry added. �Except Viktor.�

�� I�m not going to
stand for my godfather to be sent to Azkaban,� Draco said.

�� Severus is my
friend and I�ll use all my connections at the Ministry to make sure that he
isn�t sent to Azkaban,� Lucius told them.

�� And I believe them
all because of what I saw,� Luna told him.

�� Now that�s more
like it,� Fudge said. �Sorry the law states that if a rape is caused by the
Imperius Curse then it can�t be prosecuted.�

Dumbledore gave them a look that told them that he didn�t
like this. And then Hermione gasped.

�� Mione, what�s
wrong?� Harry asked.

� �My water�s broke,�
Hermione told him. �I�m having the baby right now.�

Lucius picked Hermione up and they bolted for St. Mungo.

�� To say
having a baby is easy would be laughed at by all the woman of the world.
Hermione screamed as the Healer forced her to push. Outside Harry heard her
screaming and wished that the Healer would let him in.

�� Don�t worry about
Hermione,� Draco told him. �Woman have babies all the
time.�

�� Boy I remember
when Narcissa had you, she screamed even louder,� Lucius told him.

Draco went green and Luna laughed.

�� The
screaming went on and on and Harry excused himself to go up to spell damage.
Inside Snape was still lying on the bed, his eyes still glazed over. Harry felt
like crying, his brilliant mind was gone, never to return again.

�� Slughorn is
teaching your class,� Harry told him. �It�s really sad not to see you hanging
around trying to take points off or reminding me that I�m like my father.
Hermione is having your son, can you believe it, another Know-it-all to invade
Hogwarts and try and prove himself. Hermione named his Salazar, after the
founder of Slytherin House; I think that you would be so happy to know that you�re
having a son.�

Snape didn�t respond.

�� Well I better go,�
Harry said. �Hermione might need me. I hope you get better and soon. Because we
all want you back, except for Dumbledore, and I just want to tell you that I
forgive you for hating me and I hope that you�ll love Salazar to pieces.�

He touched Snape�s shoulder and warmth spread from his
fingers through Snape�s shoulder. He removed his hand and saw the glazed look
slowly fading. Harry couldn�t dare to believe it as it finally faded away and
only true black remained.

�� Professor,� Harry
said.

Snape moaned and then turned and looked right at him.

�� What are you doing
here, Potter?� Snape asked.

�� Just making sure
that you�re all right, sir,� Harry said and then ran to get the Healer.

�� Healer
Jones was surprised that Snape had recovered from spell damage. He checked him
over and then Harry went to see how Hermione was doing. Luna hushed him and
then led him into the room where a sleeping Hermione was on the bed and not
one, but two, cribs were in a corner.

�� The Healer
couldn�t believe their tests missed another one,� Luna told him. �She had a
little girl as well and she�s a sweet as a button.�

Harry looked down and saw a baby with a pink bonnet on her
head, sleeping soundly. A tuff of brown hair was poking through and the name
Lily Maria Snape was on a small ledger.

�� She named her
after your mum,� Luna told him. �I think that even Lucius agreed that was a suitable
name. What do you think?�

Harry looked at both babies and read the boy�s name �Salazar
Remus Snape� had a tuff of black hair and Harry could almost see him sneering.

�� Welcome to the
Wizarding world,� he told them as they slept on.

A/N: It isn�t over which I know that all of you will be glad
about.

To Madietta: I�m sorry that it
wasn�t fleshed out but there isn�t anything that you can do with a story that�s
just about Harry trying to save Snape from going to Azkaban and Lucius is a
little slow. Thanks for your detailed review and the next time I post a story
on this site I will flesh out the characters.
