Chapter 2: The Date
He was early when he parked his Porsche outside her dormitory. He hated being late to anything and he knew he would have been late if he hadn’t chosen to ignore Draco’s jabs about his age and ability to satisfy this girl.
A young man answered Sara’s door and Lucius couldn’t suppress his frown, “I’m here to see Sara.” He didn’t bother to hide his sneer when he spoke.
The young man smiled, “She’s in her room, getting ready mate.” He let Lucius in.
“Thank you.” He replied gruffly. He was surprised at how new and well kept the flat looked. The wood floors were freshly polished, the dark blue couches looked recently vacuumed, and the flat screen telly looked new.
“Who is it Tobey?” A lean Asian woman walked out of the kitchen with pop corn. “Oh, you must be Lucius.” She gave what he knew to be a false smile, though why she wouldn’t like him, he hadn’t a clue. “I’m Jen Choi, Sara’s flat-mate.” She held out a neatly manicured hand. Lucius kissed the air above her knuckles, relieved, “Tobey is a good friend of ours.”
He smiled warmly at her, ‘It’s good to meet you Miss Choi.”
She smiled that false smile again, “Sara’s in her room, the open door on the right."
He turned his head and saw Sara pass her door without noticing him, “Excuse me.” He let go of Jen’s hand to stand in the doorway of Sara’s room.
She had her back to the door, putting the finishing touches on a soft French twist in her hair. His eyes were drawn to the pale ivory expanse of her back. He realized her hair was clear to the swell of her behind and smiled softly.
Sara huffed, “Jen stop staring at me and get your Asain butt in here and zip my dress. Lucius is going to be here any moment.” She finished pulling her hair up in an ornate bun, nothing nearly as complex as Narcissa use to do, but it wasn’t a plain hair style either.
He squelched the urge to lick the pale expanse of her neck and down her spine. Lucius left his cane leaning against the doorway as he silently stepped up behind her and zipped the dress, “You know, I have more experience removing one of these then zipping them up.” He purred softly in her ear.
She jumped slightly and looked at him over her shoulder, “You really shouldn’t sneak up on me like that.” This close, her eyes were arctic blue and it baffled Lucius that he could mistake her eye color twice.
He stepped back a little, “Oh? Why is that my dear?”
She laughed, “Look around my room, what do you see?” She smiled coyly.
He looked around the room carefully, “I see you are a Pagan.” His eyes settled on a small alter to Sehkmet and Thoth, “It’s beautiful.” He pulled his gaze from the alter. He looked at the posters of wolves and muggle movie stars, “You love wolves.” His eyes stopped at the corner covered with martial arts trophies and belts, “You hold belts in the martial arts.”
She nodded, “I’m going to attempt for my 3rd soon.”
He turned and watched her stand in front of him uncomfortably. He was amazed that a dress with little to no back had such a modest front. Her bust was completely hidden. He frowned slightly, “You aren’t wearing a necklace.”
She smiled shyly, “I don’t have one that matches.”
He smiled, “I may be able to solve that.” He pulled out a snake pin from his coat pocket. The pin was encrusted with emeralds and two rubies for the eyes. He gently pinned it over her heart. Stepping back to admire his handy work, he spread his hands, “Perfect.”
She laughed and went to pulled on her matching coat from her closet. Lucius helped steady her as she stepping into the wicked looking shoes to match the dress, though they only added an inch or two to her height.
“I would love to hear more of your martial arts skills on the way to dinner Sara.” He murmured as he gently steered her towards the door, trying to block images of her in nothing but the shoes on her feet.
Jen gave them a knowing look that seemed a bit dark when she set her eyes on Lucius, “Have fun you two.”
Lucius inclined his head, “I am sure our evening will be most interesting.”
Sara said nothing as she walked past the pair on the couch, though she did subtly flip her flat-mate off.
Sara had the good sense to blush as Lucius caught the gesture and quirked a brow, causing Jen and Toby to roar with laughter.
Lucius kindly ushered her outside before he said anything, “She is dating the young man I take it?”
She laughed as they walked out to the street, “Those two? Nah, they are gay.”
He frowned, “Then why are they…”
She smiled, “Watching a movie together?” She finished for him, “Simple, they are good friends without anyone special in their lives.”
He nodded softly, “Understandable.” He came to a halt in front of a sleek black Porsche that made Sara’s jaw drop in a comical way.
She ran her hand over the paint gently, “It’s beautiful.” She smiled brightly at him, ‘Please let it be his’ “How does it drive?”
Lucius smirked, “Let’s find out.” He slipped his hand out of his pocket, the key dangling in his fingers.
He carefully slipped her into the passenger seat before climbing behind the wheel. Part of him was delighted at her excitement, but part of his was suspicious about those belts of hers, “Tell me about your wall of martial arts belts? Where and what did you learn?” He asked casually.
She smiled, “Well, I have a third degree black belt in Aikido and first degree black belt in Jujitsu,”
His eyes flicked to her and back to the road, “Why two martial arts? Why not master one discipline?”
She watched his face as she spoke, “My mother and grandmother wanted me to learn focus, discipline, and hard work as intensely as I could.” She smirked softly, “And I quite enjoy it really. They blend into a beautiful dance when done properly.”
He nodded, “So it was put upon you by your family?”
She smiled and shook her head slightly, “Not entirely. I could have said no if I had wanted to, but I liked the challenge. It also allows me to explore new cultures. Each martial art is tied in with its root culture.”
He nodded, “That I can understand. You will have to show me your skills someday.” He swallowed almost audibly when she crossed her legs and he was greeted with a good glance at her ivory thigh. He could have sworn he saw the flash of a thigh tattoo before she smoothed the skirt down and he jerked his eyes back to the road.
The rest of the ride was uneventful as Sara seemed to watch the scenery while he watched her through the corner of his eye when he could. She didn’t seem her age, her talk of her life made her seem so much older than her face said.
The valet seemed to magically appear at the passenger door once Lucius pulled up to the restaurant. He paused to gauge her reaction and was pleasantly surprised when she didn’t bat an eye and allowed the valet to help her from the car.
He was also surprised when she didn’t seem over whelmed by the restaurant that he had brought them to. It usually had a 2 month waiting list for the VIPs and an even longer one for the common customer. “I am surprised. Have you been here before?” He asked gently as he led her into the restaurant, one arm properly behind her back to gently guide her and show she was escorted.
She looked up and smiled at him, “One or twice with family.” He didn’t press when she didn’t offer more, but not because he wasn’t curious, but because he was floored by her smooth response and how she didn’t seem plussed by his thrusting his elite status in her face and by his using to his advantage.
His night of surprises just seemed to have begun as she even knew to tell him what she wanted so that he could order for them both. However, he was quite shocked when she turned down wine and champaign with her meal for a glass of sparkling cider, “Why on earth would you drink something for children?” He ask softly.
She set the glass down calmly and folded her hands in her lap, “Because alcohol and my current profession do not agree. If I were to lose my faculties I could make a fool of myself and ruin my hard earned reputation.” She smiled softly, “Besides, this way I’ll remember every moment of this night.”
He couldn’t help but smile, “I’ll have to think on those words.” He held his glass of Merlot up to her and she beamed brightly at him as she clinked her cider to his wine. He made sure not to drink much so that her comfort level was kept perfect for him to investigate this fascinating creature without much effort.
Their pleasant evening however had one very large hitch in it. One Ronald Weasley. Halfway through their meal his bright red head appeared, “Malfoy?! What are you doing here?!” He looked at Sara and then to Lucius, “Where did you find her? How much did you have to pay her to be on your arm? Do you think this will improve your reputation? Please!” The redhead pointed at the slightly blushing Sara, “Did you tell her about yourself? All that you’ve done? All that you got away with? Once she knows, you’ll be ruined again.” He looked at Sara again, “I certainly hope you charge by the hour and people know where you are? With this bloke you may just vanish forever.”
Lucius began to stand up when Sara stood up and smiled at him, “Allow me.” She said softly before calmly walking up to the ranting redhead. She reached out and grabbed his pressed black tie and hauled his larger frame down to her eye level, “Just who do you think you are?” She asked softly, “Do you think it appropriate to insult me and my date in public like this?” She kept an unusually firm grip on his tie that began to make his face change color, “I don’t appreciate being made a fool. You have no proof of anything you accused him of about me or my personage.”
A dark haired man appeared, “Ron...” Harry Potter’s eyes turned round at the sight before him. A flushed petite woman holding his now slightly blue friend hostage by his tie and a shocked Lucius sitting at a table, his jaw hanging, “What have you done Ron?” He whispered before taking a good look at Sara and swallowing, “Ron, say your sorry.” He looked at Ron.
Sara glanced at Harry, “I’d listen to your friend if I were you.” She smirked softly, “I happen to have a rather short temper.” She emphasized her words by tightening her grip on his tie, making him squeak a little in shock. Lucius was at a loss, he had never met a woman so brazen as to defend her own honour.
Ginny rounded the corner, “Harry...” She stopped short, “Oh Ron...” She sighed and stepped up, “Ms. Jade, Please let my brother go. He’s a moron and doesn’t know what he’s done. If he knew, he’d be sorry, trust me.”
Lucius almost interrupted, but Sara spoke first, “Very well, but please, take him away and perhaps get him some lessons in etiquette, insulting a woman’s....virtue is highly uncalled for, no matter who her companion for the evening is.” She glanced at Lucius and watched as Ginny’s eyes went towards him and widened a bit. Sara smiled coldly, “Indeed.” She released Ron and let him stumble back towards Harry, “Good evening as I don’t believe introductions will be needed.”
Lucius watched as Harry and Ginny practically drug a coughing Ron away with a sense of mild amusement. Sara smoothed her dress and smiled at him, “I’m sorry about that. It wasn’t right that he picked on you or myself like that.” She made it sit down and he immediately stood up until she was seated.
Lucius cleared his throat, “Well, that was interesting.” His lips twitched, “Ms. Jade.”
She looked up from her glass of sparkling cider and smiled faintly, “I am known on the martial arts scene as Sara Jade Black Jenson.” She set the glass down, “I really am sorry for stepping in like that, but I cannot stand people insulting my friends like that let alone myself.”
Lucius chuckled, “My dear, as shocking as it was to my...gentlemanly ways, it was most refreshing to see a woman with spirit defend herself.” He sat back, “I dare say you might have some ancient warrior blood in you.”
She returned his smile, “I did grow up on the outskirts of a Native American Reservation. There are plenty of warriors still alive and well.”

The rest of meal went off peacefully, Lucius learning more of Sara’s life and he offering what was muggle safe of his own. The evening ended at her flat door, “It was a wonderful night, despite the interruption.” She smiled up at him.
Much to his suprise, Lucius couldn’t argue. He inclined himself slightly, “I’m pleased to hear you say so. I would like to call upon you again.”
She smiled, “Alright.” She pulled a piece of paper from her purse and wrote her mobile number on it. She pressed it into his hand, “Call me.” She pressed a quick kiss to his cheek and once again vanished behind that blasted flat door.
Lucius stood there for a good few minutes before rousing himself enough to drive back to his muggle flat and floo home to the manner. In the morning he was going to have a long chat with a certain red head about manners and how to speak to a lady. He stalked up to his son’s room, “Draco,” He called before barging into the room, “I need to know who to look someone up on the muggle internet...”
