Lucius, Remus and Snape all landed in a heap on an expensive hardwood floor. Lucius was the first to stand up after pushing both men off of him. He brushed off his robes, scowling darkly at the wrinkles that formed in them.
Snape held his back in pain, while Remus kneeled holding his head.
“What did the old man do?” Snape muttered, looking around at the foyer that they had landed in.
The space was lit with a glowing, warm light. Behind them was a red door with decorative glass surrounding it. Beside the door were cream colored walls.
Above them, an elegant chandelier hung majestically, causing their eyes to be drawn to the staircase on the right that led into darkness.
Snape looked neutrally at the breath taking foyer while Remus looked around visibly impressed. Lucius looked unaffected by the beauty and picked imaginary lent off of his coat.
Before the men could begin to think of what Dumbledore might have done, Ginny, Hermione, and Luna all landed in the foyer on top of the men.
Hermione landed on Lucius, Ginny on Remus and Luna on Snape.
“For Merlin sakes you silly girl, get your person off of me!” Snape growled, pushing the blonde girl off of his body.
“Get off me now Mudblood—Merlin knows where you muddy little paws have been,” Lucius said pushing Hermione roughly into Ginny and Remus.
“Oy you bastard—don’t push my friend around like that,” Ginny said, her voice muffled by Remus’ clothing.
There were a few more moments of confusion and curses before everyone was standing in the foyer, brushing off their clothing.
“How did you three end up here?” Snape asked
A dark scowl appeared on Ginny’s face.
“Dumbledore,” she spat.
Lucius frowned, stroking the snake head on his cane.
“The same way we had the pleasure of appearing, it seems,” he said.
“Have any of you tried to get out?” Hermione asked, exploring the furniture and stairway.
“We were until you three decided to pop in on us,” Remus said with a small smile.
Snape ignored the conversation and went to the door. He tried to open it but it wouldn’t budge.
Frowning, he took out his wand and started throwing every unlocking spell he could think of at it. It didn’t move. Snape lost his temper and began to throw every spell he knew—he even tried blasting the door off its hinges but it stayed intact, mocking him with its lack of damage.
“Merlin’s balls are we really stuck here?” Ginny asked.
Lucius glared at Ginny.
“I know you’re a filthy blood traitor, but do you really have to speak like the dirt that you are?”
Ginny pulled her wand out only to have Hermione grab a hold of her hand before she could do anything with it.
“Don’t let him get to you Gin,” she said soothingly.
“Yeah Gin, you should learn to control your temper—if you don’t Lippygops will stick to your hair and give you terrible body odor,” Luna said with a misty smile.
Snape pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering under his breath.
Ginny shifted her anger to Luna.
“Luna bloody Lovegood, I swear to Merlin—”
Remus stepped in and diffused the situation before things got too out of hand.
“Look, how about we all go and explore the house first. We all need a chance to calm down. Professor Snape, Mister Malfoy and I will take the upstairs and you girls can take the downstairs.”
“Of course Remus—we’ll meet you all in the foyer in five minutes,” Hermione said, pulling the angry Ginny away from the foyer. Luna trailed behind swaying back and forth down the hallway.
“I’m going to kill that old man,” Snape vowed before walking up the stairs.
Lucius and Remus followed closely behind, both silently agreeing with Snape.
One the second story of the glamorous house was three large bedrooms. Each bedroom had similar layouts, each with different color schemes. They all were decked out with large king beds, large bathrooms that included Jacuzzi tubs, TVs with DVD systems that had surround sound, and large bookshelves that were filled to the brim for every genre available.
“Why would the old fool send us to a house with only three bedrooms?” Lucius asked after the men finished looking at the last room.
“I don’t know but I’m pretty sure we’re not going to like the reason,” Remus said.
The three men held various looks of unease on their faces.
“Let’s take a look at downstairs,” Remus said.
Lucius and Snape didn’t argue and followed Remus down the stairs.
Going past the foyer, they came across a long hallway. On their right hand side was a wall full of pictures of Dumbledore of various ages smiling and waving with different people.
On the left was a large kitchen with an island full of various magical and muggle cookware. The hallway ended and turned into an elegant living room.
There was a large stone fire place with a pink shag rug at the foot of it. A long couch and a love seat were arranged tastefully in a welcoming matter.
Past the living room was a library that was twice as big as the one at Hogwarts. There were two wing back chairs sitting in front of another fireplace with another shag carpet arranged stylishly between them.
Snape practically drooled after glancing at a few titles. Remus and Lucius had to drag him out of the room.
They left the library and noticed that the hallway continued to run deeper into the house. They followed it and found another room. In it was a large window showing the dark forest and beside it were shelves of games leaning against the wall.
In the middle of the room stood a large table with comfortable chairs surrounding it. Above the table was a low hanging lamp that looked similar to the one in the famous picture of the dogs playing poker.
The men left that room and went back towards the foyer, noticing a few other rooms along the way. On their way to the staircase, they noticed a patio door in the kitchen that lead to darkness.
Drawing their wands, they moved cautiously towards the door.
Outside was a giant swimming pool with various different water slides attached to it. Along the side of the pool closest to the house were lawn chairs of a variety of different colors, all with cup holders.
On the other side of the pool a stood dark forest—a forest that the girls were trying their hardest to get through.
Ginny was trying her best to run through the wards only to be pushed away roughly by the invisible barrier.
Hermione had her wand out and was attempting to unward the barrier with spells the men had only seen casted by accomplished witches and wizards.
Luna was busy dancing in the moon light while putting flowers in her hair.
She was the first to spot the men. She waved at them, jumping up and down.
“Come dance with me—the Moonlight Snarkles are giving off pixie magic!”
Ginny and Hermione turned, spotting the men. They began to jog over to where they stood.
“Is she right in the head?” Lucius asked, staring at Luna as if she were an animal from the zoo.
Snape massaged his temples with his fingers.
“Actually she is quite brilliant—she just happens to believe in creatures that don’t exist,” he explained.
Ginny and Hermione finally reached the men and Luna.
“I’ve tried everything I know to break through the ward—it’s too strong,” Hermione said, throwing a glare at the forest.
Lucius stood straight and with a flick of his cane, he uncovered the barrier.
He shook his head.
“The only person who can break it is the person who cast it. I wouldn’t try to apparate with wards this strong,” he said.
“Gods, we really are stuck here,” Hermione said, staring at the bright green glow that represented the barrier.
“Seeing as there is nothing else we can do out here, let us go inside. We need to figure out a way to contact Dumbledore,” Snape said.
The group agreed and they made their way into the kitchen. As soon as they were inside, a note popped out of thin air. Luna was the first to grab it. Everyone huddled around her.
All they saw were little scribbles.
“How will this help us? He wrote it while he was pissed,” Ginny said.
Luna took out her wand and waved it over the note. To everyone’s surprise, the writing became legible.
“Luna sometimes I really wonder about you,” Ginny muttered before huddling around like everyone else to read the note.
My dear friends,
I have watched you from afar, aware of how sad you all are despite the end of a horrible dark madness that at one point in time encompassed the Wizarding World. I have decided that you all need is to find new love and to put old love behind you.
Therefore, I have paired all of you up! The pairings go as followed:
Hermione Granger and Severus Snape
Remus Lupin and Luna Lovegood
Lucius Malfoy and Ginevra Weasley
The door to this house will remain locked until you and your partner have consummated your relationships (consummate meaning that you both will have to have intercourse with each other three times).
I think that after you are all done being angry with me for taking matters into my own hands, you will realize that these matches really are for the best. The house rules are at the end of the letter.
Warm regards,
Albus Dumbledore
P.S. Severus, there is a fully stocked potion’s lab in the basement and Remus; there is a padded cell next to the lab.
House rules
1) You must all pick a bedroom and share the bed with your respective partner. The magic in the house will not allow you to sleep anywhere else.
2) Once a week you must participate in playing a game in the game room. If you refuse to play the games together, you will all be forced to watch the Muggle cartoon, Teletubbies, for four hours.
3) Once a week you are all required to have a discussion circle together in the living room. A note with a specific question will be there. As soon as you all are in the discussion circle, you will be unable to lie. Failure to comply with this rule will result in you and your partner being locked in your rooms for 24-hours.
4) You must spend at least two hours a day with your respective partners learning about each other. Failure to accomplish this will result in loss of clothing for 24-hours.
Snape snatched the letter and angrily tore it to shreds. The parchment fell to the floor in pieces before piecing itself back together.
Snape growled.
“As soon as I get out of this house I’m going to kill him!”
“You’re going to have to stand in line because I’m getting first dibs,” Ginny said. Her face was the color of a tomato and she was shaking with anger. “Dumbledore must be crazy if he thinks I’m going to let Malfoy anywhere near me.”
Lucius glared at Ginny.
“And you touching me is better? No matter how much you clean yourself up you will still be too filthy to touch someone as important as me.”
Ginny rounded on Lucius.
“Look you prissy pureblood—I’ve kicked your son’s ass countless times; don’t make prove that I can do the same to you.”
Lucius clutched his cane tightly, ready to retort again when Remus stepped in between them.
“It’s late and pretty obvious that Dumbledore isn’t going to help us out tonight. Let’s just go to bed and figure everything out in the morning.”
“Fine,” Ginny snarled before leaving the kitchen and stomping up the stairs.
Lucius looked positively disgusted but followed her nonetheless.
“I think your right, Remus,” Luna exclaimed jumping up, causing her skirt to rise up dangerously high.
Remus gulped as she threw herself into his person and hugged him tight.
“Come on. Let’s go pick our own room before the good ones are taken,” Luna said pulling him toward the stairs.
Hermione nervously glanced at Snape and bit her lip. Snape did not look like he was in the mood to be polite.
He paced back and forth across the kitchen floor before abruptly turning to Hermione.
“Let’s go—the faster I get to sleep the better.”
Hermione followed him without argument.
They both made their way up the stairs to find the last available room.
