The first years were hard.

Taking on missions and a crying screaming bundle of joy was not what Kakashi had in mind. Oh, he knew the old man would have skinned him alive if he had never stepped up, but fuck. His Sensei was just killed along with the secret crush he had on said Sensei's wife. Wiping sweat from his brow the young man frowned at the sleeping baby. It was not Naruto's fault, and he would never blame it on the kid. He was not his father, he would raise his Sensei's kid right at least. But it looked like he could no longer haunt the red light section in Kanbara. Signing Kakashi walked over to the living room needing a strong drink.

It wasn't just the kid that messed up his routine either. It was the other people that bunked here, and their problems. It was the dreaded lovers.

It turned out that Nina Hyuuga and Gai fell in love not with each other, which surprised almost everyone in the village (not). Kakashi had wondered if Nina would go for him, but it didn't happen either.

It started when the four of them, including the baby, had rented out a big apartment. Nina was of course the one who would take care of the baby most of the time, while Gai and Kakashi did the missions for money. It had worked out for awhile, but Kakashi had ended up being left at home most of the time due to his Anbu rank being dissolved.

Well Nina, the raging moster that she was, got fed up with taking care of the household and the baby for a little over two months. It was a sunny afternoon and all was quiet with the baby crying and Nina pulling out her hair.

'I swear when they get back, I'm stopping this'. She thought carrying the now semi quiet baby. She was only 20, she needed to breathe and run wild, not stay here.

Just then the front door opened to the small apartment. It was a pretty nice neighborhood, but with four people it got a little cramped. They had three bedrooms a small kitchen with about eight windows in all. The furniture could have been better but what would you expect from Kakashi?

"Nina how are you? and the youth of tomorrow." Gai said, happily like always, while Kakashi just stood there shaking his head. Both of them smelled of sake and smoke.

Nina smiled sweetly to them getting up. Her short brown hair falling in place at her chin. Dark eyes narrowed, "I'm fine and now you get to take care of Naruto." She said with gleaming eyes.

They literally, being the good friends that Kakashi and Gai were, said yes. Not wanting the she devil to spring on them with her talons.

Safe to say Nina had left, and when she came back it turned out that she had met a guy from the local tavern and soon married. The man was about medium height with red unruly hair and brown bright eyes. His name was Kyo and he happened to be one of the best swordsmen out there.

Now with five people here the place was cramped. They also had to go out for more missions to feed everyone, which Gai of course had no complaints. One year later and Naruto was growing like a weed, so they had to buy clothes for him almost constantly.

Kakashi would buy beginner books for ninjas. Claiming that it was what Sensei would have done. Nina would buy the clothes, and Gai would buy the food with Kyo doing outside missions. The group was so popular with the village that they had the nickname "Sphinxes" with all missions they took. (They still didn't know who came up with that stupid name). Somewhere an old man sneezed on his paperwork.

Next came Gai with his girlfriend that he met on one of his missions. She had long back silk hair that would always be pinned in the back, and would wear kimono's with a fan strapped to her back. Her name was Ling, no last name. She was pretty shy but she would gather her own weight. Kakashi had yet again been forced to put up with this new change. But he did have more time to himself now, and besides it made little Naruto happy. The kid had been walking around recently, screams and giggling like a loon. But if he was happy than that meant Sensei was happy up there somewhere too.

Now Kakashi had six people in his apartment, and let’s just say that the apartment was shrinking rapidly. Ling would stay home full time with the baby along with Nina. The she witch claimed that she was taking care of the kid, but she was actually on the couch reading Kakashi's secret stash. Nina would sometimes go to the Hyuuga compound with Naruto and prance around with him though. Show casing the giggling boy, she would rant about the men in her life to the other housewives.

Next was Kakashi and his girlfriend that was a medical nin. Maybe he liked her for her looks or maybe deep down he was trying to replace Rin, his old teammate.

They too moved into the apartment. She had fiery red long hair with violet eyes. Her name was Yuna. She was nice, but thorough and she would always work at the hospital. She was a nice addiction to the growing family, because now it was free to go to the hospital. Yes everything was at peace in Konoha. Kakashi would still be late to everything and read those books, but he had a good enough reason now. He could always blame it on little Naruto, he knew the kid would come in handy one day.

While this was happening the baby named Naruto was getting so much attention that he himself didn't know what to do about it. First he saw the pretty girl with black hair that took care of him. Then he sees a guy with a weird thing on his head with fuzzy things growing on his face that Naruto loved to pull. And last but not least was the guy who had some kind of black thing covering half of his face with one eye. Naruto didn't know if he was a monster or not, but he liked him. Add that to other people moving in and Naruto thought it was a big party.

After about three months in the apartment everyone decided enough was enough. They all marched into the tower where the Hokage was with Nina in front. To say the least, it looked very frightening. No one dared to step in his or her way when the she devil, I mean, Nina was in charge.

Behind her was Kyo with his long sword and strong imitating skills. Next was Ling with Naruto and Gai, then Yuna making funny faces towards the baby. And finally but not least was Kakashi. Everyone in the group looked like hell. Their hair was everywhere, their clothes all crumpled. It was the walking dead some had whispered.

The Third was at his desk looking out the big window, his smoke pipe in his aged mouth. Today was sunny and bright with a light wind. The Third smiled at the sight of his village, no blood visible and no running alarms. His plan had bloomed if he did say himself. The village was strong, the police corp were in line, and the elders silent. He traveled the right path after all with young Naruto it seemed.

The villagers still didn't know about the fox in him and his "family" was growing rapidly. The Third was cut short on his musings when a loud crash was heard, and the next thing he knew was a bunch of people standing before him. They were just standing there until the brave and powerful Nina stepped forward.

"Hokage sama sorry to barge in like this but the apartment is to small, and we all were hoping you had something a little bigger for us." Nina said dragging up Ling with Naruto in hand to tie the deal.

The Third just laughed and stood up, "I don't know if we have anymore houses." He said lightly. Taping his chin, looking like he was in thought.

Kakashi walked up, looking like he didn't have a good night's rest in ages. " Hokage you must have something." His voice firm but his eyes pleading.

"Well I might, but than again it might be to big." He said throwing a set of keys towards Kakashi who caught it and practically ran out of the room. In the background several people could hear laughter in the office of the Third.

Nina laughing at the sight, "Thank you. You don't know how hectic it has been with three small families living like that." She said getting ready to leave with everyone else.

"You do know that I had bought the house sometime ago right? I just wanted to see when everyone got fed up." The Third laughed closing the door. Nina on the other side just laughed and walked away. The Third was still the same.

The Third walked back to the desk, looking out the window. He took a puff of smoke, yes that group would certainly have their hands full. He just hoped Naruto would be ready when the time came. Looking at the letter on the desk he turned his back, wondering what he should do.

The new house.

It turned out the house was HUGE! It was located near the outskirts of the village. It was a two-story house that connected to other smaller houses on either side. It also had a huge yard for playing and practicing ninja arts. The main house itself was an off white color with rock formation all around. The stairs’ that lead up to the front wooden door. Two stone statues of sphinxes on either side.

The inside was even more beautiful, the carpeting being green and the furniture matching it. The kitchen was huge with two islands in the middle. There were even two pantries.

The bathrooms and bedrooms where either upstairs or down stairs, equally huge. The group was so impressed they all wanted the main house, so there was only one way to decide.

Straws decided that Kakashi and Yuna were to have the West house, while Nina and Kyo had the middle, and finally Gai and Ling had the east house.

The West house was a little smaller than the middle one, but it still was pretty huge. It had its own little backyard. The inside walls were covered in tan, the carpet matching it. They too had a large kitchen.

The East house had white walls with a tan-ish white carpet.

The three backyards all connected in the end, leading to a dojo as Kyo stated. The building was huge with wooden floors and paper doors.

Naruto by the time he was five, knew the history of the village, and was starting to learn taijutsu.

He found out who he could pester and could not. Nina was one of those you didn't want to pester. She was demanding, but would treat him like a mother..

Everyone else was laid back and easy, but Gai still creeped him out sometimes. He would randomly start challenging Kakashi or start sputtering some Youth thing in Naruto's face.

That was the routine throughout the years. Naruto would wake up and spar with whomever while he had training weights on. Then he would learn small jutsus, ninja arts, with Kakashi and Nina.

When he was about seven they enrolled him in the academy where he could be with kids his age. There he met Iruka sensei along with other kids. Like Sakura and Hinata. He also met Sasuke and Kiba. Naruto wasn't sure if he liked Sasuke yet being all high and mighty. Nina had said he did it because he was a peacock, or something of the like.

While Naruto was having the time of his life in another part of the world Harry Potter was not. His Uncle was mad and drunk again, and his cousin had just hit him. No he was having the worst day ever.
