Hermione could feel her heart race as Lucius walked towards her. She kept her eyes downcast on the table, trying to calm herself down. She could feel her hot core pulsing already and she knew if she let him touch her, she would be lost to the sensations only he could evoke within her. "Lucius", she tried to keep her voice firm but it wavered slightly. "I can't…we can't keep doing this", she continued despite her body's protests.
"Really", Lucius smooth voice drawled out and she felt him standing behind her chair. "And why not?"
His voice conveyed both power and command and Hermione's body responded to it like his touch. She could already feel herself getting wet at the thought of what he would do if she let him, if she just forgot about Ron, Harry, her children and the facade she was forced to adopt around them.
As if reading her thoughts, Lucius' warm hands started to massage her shoulders. "I can't!"Hermione forced herself to take responsibility, "We're both married and we shouldn't be…not with each other…" She trailed off as Lucius grasped her upper arm and pulled her up from the chair. Keeping himself positioned behind her, he wrapped one arm around her waist and pushed her hair to one side with the other.
"Lucius! What are you…" she felt his warm kisses on the back of her neck and her body began responding to the familiar touch. Hermione knew this was her last chance to stop herself before she became lost in the pleasure and sanctuary offered by him whenever they engaged. "We can't. I have Ron and the kids…"
She knew she had made a mistake mentioning his name when Lucius' arm tightened around her waist and he spun her around to face him. His face a breath away from hers, he whispered almost menacingly, "How many times do I have to remind you Hermione? We don't mention our other lives-ever!"
She was ashamed to admit it but she could hardly concentrate on Lucius' words when her body was pressed against his tense one and his arms encircled her possessively. Lucius was quick to pick up on this fact.
His low chuckle made her core pulse harder and her body, ever the traitor, leaned into him when he lowered his head and kissed her. Their tongues intertwined, battling against each other. Lucius lifted her with ease onto the large wooden table and pushed her knees apart, standing in between them.
"You know you want me Hermione.Want this", one of his hands slid under her shirt and started roughly caressing her breast. Hermione moaned and her hands, of their own accord, fisted themselves in his silky golden hair as she pulled him down for a kiss. His lips crushed against hers, and she felt herself warm up as his hands continued their relentless assault on her body.
"Lucius" she whimpered, breaking the heated kiss for a moment. His hands helped her remove her shirt and pants before reaching for his own. As she gazed at his hard, masculine chest she tried to remember why they weren't supposed to do this. He stroked a palm across her cheeks before cupping her face in his large hand.
"What are you thinking about?" his head tilted to the side as he considered her pained expression. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down until their eyes were level.
"There are so many reasons why we shouldn't be doing this. So many people would be hurt if they ever found out", she whispered but it sounded half-hearted, even to her own ears. Lucius shook his head and gave her a long lingering kiss as his hands unclasped her bra and began to knead her milky orbs.
Hermione moaned into his mouth as her hands roamed around his body, tracing across the hard ridges of his chest, a feature (a small part of her mind noted) that Ron sadly lacked. Lucius suddenly pulled back and she groaned at the loss of contact. He just smiled and slipped one hand under the waistband of her knickers and circled her hot, wet core lazily with one finger.
Her body automatically shifted to try and increase the contact but he restrained her with the other hand. "Lucius!" she groaned in frustration at his teasing.
His lips bend close to her ears and his breath tickled her as he whispered, "Live in the moment Hermione" before bending down further to suck on one of her nipples. She started to feel the familiar sensations that told her she was reaching her peak as his warm, wet mouth worked on her breast while he pushed one finger into her slick core. He groaned as it pulsed around his finger and she was aware of how much self-restraint was required of him to give her this level of pleasure.
Ron had never, even when she had believed herself to be in love with him, given her these feelings and she believed this was one of the many reasons why she couldn't seem to stay away from Lucius. Her body craved him for what only he could offer her. Absolute bliss.
Suddenly he pulled back again but before Hermione could protest a second time, he had removed the small scrap of cloth separating her core from his hard, pulsing organ and she felt his organ throbbing against her entrance. His lips moved against her in a furious passion as he penetrated her wet folds and gave them the pleasure they both longed for.
Hermione held onto him as he pushed himself as deep as he could before pulling back and doing it again, setting a fast, rhythmic pace. She whimpered as she felt him filling her, his girth seeming to touch every inch of her. "Lucius"her voice came out broken as she felt herself reach the peak and Lucius sped up to give her what she needed as he himself became lost to the pleasure her tight opening afforded him. His deep strokes hit her spot and she came violently, babbling incoherently.
A moment later he followed her, shooting his hot stream deep inside her and in that moment, all they were aware of was each other. Hermione lay back on the table in exhaustion and Lucius lay on top of her, still conscious enough to anchor his elbows on the table to hold his weight.
"That…was…"Hermione panted up at him, her eyes still glassy and wide from their passion.
"Amazing? Fantastic? Malfoy worthy?" he finished for her and got a weak slap on the chest for the effort. He chuckled quietly and nuzzled her neck, letting his blond hair splay across her chest the way he knew she liked.
Hermione rested her hands on his shoulders as she once again, allowed their moment to be corrupted by worries of the future. "How did you sneak out of the manor today?" she asked, Narcissa's face from their many encounters in the past, flooding her head.
Lucius felt her body tense as she spoke and quickly placed his hands on either sides of her face, pinning her with his grey eyes as he responded quietly, "I told her I had someone important to visit. She knows better than to question me". His words sent chills down Hermione's back and Lucius raised his eyebrows and gave her his trademark smirk as he noticed her reaction, before bending down to give her another kiss.
Hermione had always known he was dangerous if crossed. It was one of the first things she had noticed when she first met him while book shopping with Harry and the Weasley family in her second year. When he glanced at her, everyone around her had seen the typical Malfoy arrogance in display as the head of the family looked down his aristocratic nose on the "Mudblood" but Hermione had seen something more. Something Lucius had later confessed to her, he had not intended to show.
As she looked into those pale grey eyes, so like his son Draco's, she knew she was looking at a man who was capable, dangerous and embraced his dark side; traits which, despite Draco's outer facade he lacked but she also saw something that had her shying away at a time when she was more concerned about books than boys. She saw a glimmer of dark desire and she hadn't confessed to anybody, not even her mother who she had a very close relationship with, that these eyes had haunted both her nightmares and dreams alike for the rest of her schooldays.
When they had faced the Deatheaters at the Department of Mysteries, she was ashamed to admit that she feared for the owner of those eyes' safety more than her own or even Harry's. But, rational being as always, she had put these thoughts to the back of her mind and stood firm in her decision to be by Harry's side through the war, believing that whatever that look in the bookstore had meant, Lucius Malfoy could never be interested in her and she would never even have a proper conversation with him.
A small part of her mind and heart, however, remained a traitor and this part of her noticed that Lucius never put himself in a position to fight her himself in any of their encounters. This part of her was pleased for reasons that she could not explain at the time and although she had witnessed his acts of cruelty to others on more than one occasion since then, this part reminded her that he would never intentionally hurt her, despite his dark nature.
The one thing Hermione would have always readily attested to was that Lucius Malfoy was certainly versatile. She had seen his demeanour change, depending on who he was dealing with and what he wanted from that person. In the few interactions she had witnessed between him and Dumbledore, he had acknowledged Dumbledore's power respectfully while battling it with his own authority. With the Minister of Magic, his threatening side would come out which was one of the main reasons why, in the ministry, his word was equal to law. In the last decade, she had seen his passionate, possessive and, on occasion, tender sides and although his darkness never lingered far from the surface, she had grown to love him all the more.
She had suspected during her encounter with him in the fifth year, when he had been the leader in the Dark Lord's plot to get the prophecy, that everyone, including Dumbledore had been wrong about him. She didn't believe that the 'evil' everyone suspected Lucius of was an innate part of his nature or that he believed in Voldemort's cause and purity of blood. With Lucius, a part of her had always known, it was about the power. He thrived on power and he was ruthless in his methods to acquire it.
Blood purity was just another way for him to gain more control and power over others. Her instincts had been proven right during the Final Battle, when she had witnessed Lucius' desperate search for Draco and seen that Voldemort's mission did not rank as highly on his list of priorities as his son's safety and maintaining the legacy of the Malfoy name.
It was this confirmation that had prompted her to help him during the battle.
It was a story no one knew but them. It was right after she had kissed Ron and Fred had been killed. Harry had disappeared to fulfil his quest and Ron's grief had taken the form of violence as he slashed down enemy after enemy in an impressing display of magic. She had slipped away outside to try and locate Harry and see how far the battle had progressed when she saw the waterfall of white blond hair cascading down the back of a dark, cloaked figure. The apparel warned her of evil but his skill as he cursed his opponent caused her to stop and watch.
Her instincts had her crouching behind a large tree as Lucius battled a fellow deatheater in the clearing ahead. As his opponent finally slumped, he went right up to him and bend down on one knee. His menacing tone had caused Hermione to stifle a gasp as he said, "And that is for worrying about the Dark Lord's wishes before my own. When it comes to saving my son from dying for this pathetic cause, I WILL do anything. You should have remembered, I protect my own".
As he got up and began to walk away from the dead wizard, Hermione tried to back away from her spot and that was the first time she witnessed Lucius' remarkable hearing. If it hadn't been for her quick reflexes and sound magical knowledge in casting shield charms, she would have been stupefied and on the ground as Lucius Malfoy faced her with his wrath.
Hermione kept her wand out in front of her as Lucius walked back towards her. He stopped at the centre of the clearing and raised his eyebrows, issuing a silent challenge that she as a Gryffindor could not refuse. She started to step forwards, cautiously surveying her surroundings.
"I will not kill you Miss Granger", he whispered, his voice charming despite it's hoarse tone, "I don't believe we have had the pleasure of fighting against each other yet".
Despite his words, Lucius sounded weary, almost as if he were tired of all the fighting. "You said you wouldn't kill me", Hermione responded, finding it hard to breathe.
Lucius smirked at her and took up the duelling position, "I won't fight to kill. Just to see your skills", he answered giving her a slight bow. She knew this symbolised the start of a duel although she had only seen the proper etiquette in action during her 3rd year in the classroom. Obviously Lucius Malfoy followed tradition.
She bowed back before they turned their backs on each other and took the required steps back. Lucius immediately attempted a stupefy charm which Hermione blocked with ease now that she was prepared and countered with an Expelliamus.
"Potter's habits are rubbing off on you Miss Granger", Lucius pronounced as he deflected her curse and she sensed true disdain in his voice as he mentioned Harry. "Draco had led me to believe you had more diverse magical skills".
The obvious taunt had her Gryffindor nature bristling and despite her attempt to not show her anger, Lucius' answering smirk told her she had not done a good job in maintaining her nonchalant expression. "Call me Hermione", she said as she searched her mind for some spell that might impress him.
Although she tried to blame it on her house's motto to never back down from a fight, a part of her knew that she craved for Lucius' approval more than she should. "Well then Hermione" Lucius spoke, his voice holding an unfamiliar tone.
Instead of pondering over this, Hermione attempted a non-verbal spell, something she had never successfully achieved during her years of practise. She knew it was successful when a large snake, only slightly smaller that Voldemort's pet cobra, appeared out of thin air in front of her, hissing at Lucius. "Very impressive Hermione", Lucius drawled but despite his unaffected tone, Hermione could see the fear in his eyes-whether from the snake or her mastery of wordless magic she couldn't tell.
As the snake began to slither towards him, he waved his wand quickly, making it disappear as suddenly as it had appeared. As Hermione waited for his counter attack, she became aware that he was surveying her from head to toe. Disconcerted by his gaze, she looked down at her torn clothes to see what he might find so fascinating and then she heard him whisper, "Carpe Retractum".
Before she could do any more than gasp and berate herself for her stupidity (she had learnt in her first year at Hogwarts to never look away from your opponent during a fight), a long wave of gold burst out of Lucius' wand tip and secured itself around her waist.
As Lucius flicked his wrist back, Hermione felt herself being dragged towards him and no amount of resistance on her part could stop it. When she reached him, he released her from the spell and placed his arm around her waist, pulling her close to his body as he looked down on her. "Let me go", Hermione gasped in outrage and humiliation. Lucius didn't respond as he put his wand away (another big no-no in magical duels) and tipped her chin up with his hand. Before Hermione could process what was happening, he had bend down and pressed a soft, light kiss to her lips that had her wanting more.
"You are an amazing young witch", he whispered to her, his breath warm against her closed eyelids as she recovered from his kiss, "We will meet again Hermione, when this is over….and next time, I won't let you go so easily". Hermione opened her eyes and saw her reflection in his smokey grey ones.
His lust was palpable but, as he kissed her again, pressing his lips against hers and forcing her to open to his probing tongue, she also felt a sense of protection. Something deep inside her reminded her that she would be safe with him and despite her rational side disagreeing, she believed this message without question.
Her eyes closed again as the kiss deepened then suddenly, she felt him pull away. "Until next time", he breathed hoarsely and she knew he was as aroused by the kiss as her. "Draco's safe. In the castle", she whispered back to him, her voice husky.
She kept her eyes closed as she felt him press a tender kiss to the top of her head. "Thank you", he whispered back.
Then he left her, leaving in a billowing of robes that reminded her of Professor Snape's dramatic classroom entrances. And at that moment she knew this encounter was going to be her dark secret.
