Loki laughed loudly as Remus slammed him repeatedly in to the wall in the living room. There was a dent where Hermione’s husband had hit frequently in the past few minutes. Hermione had shot a spell at the kitchen door so the little girls couldn’t enter the living room to see what was happening and she sent Annabelle in to take care of them and keep them interested in something, anything else. She watched as Remus’s fist hit Loki’s face again and again and yet Loki only laughed, he never tried to defend himself and never fought back.
“Oh I have to say Remus” Loki said, laughing even harder as Remus finally dropped him to the ground “I like you better this way” He rolled on to his back and put his hands behind his head not paying any attention to the blood coming from his mouth or the cut on his cheek, he was still smiling brightly as if he had nothing else to worry about “So unrestrained, so strong and wild...I have to admit, I’m a little turned on”
“You son-of-a-bitch” Remus said slowly leaning over him “It’s your fault I am the way I am...”
“Oh no” Loki told him, slowly sitting up “I didn’t go nibbling on you, that wasn’t me...that was someone else”
“Fenrir Greyback” Remus spat “But he was turned too and that was your fault”
“Was not” He countered “I was very young”
“What did you do?” Hermione asked, curiously.
“Nothing” He said “I was...young. I was trying out my powers and met a woman, she was very...well-known by many men and I was young”
“You had sex with her” Hermione said jealously.
“You had sex with Potter” He shot back making Lupin smirk “And Weasley and...” He didn’t say it but he was pointing at Remus.
“I never had sex with Remus!” Hermione snarled “You prick I never had sex with him and who cares who I’ve had sex with I didn’t spawn werewolves with some loose whore!”
“I didn’t know I spawned anything with her” He growled “I found out about the wolf-baby when it was seven and then she didn’t want me to have anything to do with it but I kept tabs on it”
“You say ‘it’ like it wasn’t a baby” Hermione snapped at him.
“It wasn’t a baby” He told her “It was evil, mean, cruel and dangerous. It was how she wanted him to be, she told me that he was meant to be a monster and that he would make many more like him, it was his noble work as a half-god”
“He did do his noble work” Remus seethed “He made many more” He no longer looked angry more hurt and resigned “And we suffer because of it, every day of our lives”
“Look” Loki finally stood up and wiped his bleeding lip on his sleeve “If I knew what he would have done I’d have...wow...okay, I won’t lie, I probably wouldn’t have done shit because that’s just not who I am” Remus started to get angry again “But I do apologize for what this lifestyle has done to you”
“Then fix it” Remus hissed “Fix it, take it back...stop it, I know you can”
“You have too much faith in me” Loki told him “I cannot undo what has been done to you, I can’t magically make you better”
“But you said...” Remus pointed out.
“My blood will make you stay human during the full moon” He told him “But that is not a cure, you will still be a werewolf and you will still meet a mate and you will still want her over anyone else. People will still fear you and once a month on the full moon you will be more beast than man”
“Mate?” Remus asked “You mean Dora?” Even though he knew that was a lie because if she were his mate they wouldn’t fight the way they do.
“You know the answer to that” Loki answered.
“Isn’t there a way you can help him?” Hermione asked “Please...you’d do anything for Levi”
“Levi is my son...” Loki said.
“In a way so isn’t Remus” Hermione pointed out “In a really, really fucked up way he is just as connected to you. Your wolf-child made him...”
“Through a bite” Loki snapped “He is not related”
“Fine” Hermione’s eyes blazed bright in her face “Then do it to prove that you aren’t the monster people think you are, do it to help him, to make your kids think you are amazing...do it to make me remember why I fell in love with you because I promise you that sometimes I do forget”
“Hermione...” Remus said “It doesn’t matter”
“There is nothing to do” Loki repeated his earlier comment but he looked upset with what Hermione had said.
“It doesn’t matter” Remus told her, pulling her closer to him and hugging her tightly “Once a monster, always a monster”
“You aren’t a monster” Hermione told him looking in to his face with tears filling her eyes “You are smart and funny, kind and gentle...you are an amazing person that everyone should be willing and able to get to know...I just want you to be happy, that’s all”
“I am as happy as I always am” Remus told her which unfortunately made her sob loudly.
“Which means not at all” She cried “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” She smiled weakly at him “I’m just frustrated, that’s all”
There was more hugging that Loki watched with jealous eyes and there were a lot of whispers and inside stories that made both of them laugh. Then Remus decided that it was time to go home and spend some time with his wife, Loki was only too happy to see him go. Hermione was watching him leave and continued to stand in the doorway long after he was gone. She looked lost and alone and for some reason she looked even younger than she was, Loki walked up behind her extending his arms to her but she walked out of his reach. She didn’t say anything as she stepped in to the shadows of the house but he knew what she was thinking, how she was feeling because it was written on her face and glittering in the eyes that he could only just see in the darkest of the shadows. She was angry, she was scared and what bothered him most of all was that she was disappointed in him.

“THOR!” Loki stormed through the castle looking for his brother “WHERE ARE YOU?!”
“I’m here, brother” Thor answered from a doorway that led outside “Is all well, where is Hermione?”
Loki didn’t answer instead charged his brother, catching him by surprise he was able to knock him over. He struck out with his foot kicking the other man in the ribs, he raised his foot again but as quickly as his brother had been surprised he had gained the upper hand again. Loki found himself knocked on his ass but he didn’t give up he struck again and again, not aiming or really even aware of what or where he was hitting, he just needed to hit something. Finally, he found himself pinned to the ground by the blasted hammer and he was unable to move it or get out from under it. He fought against it anyway while his brother watched in confusion before Loki finally gave up, closed his eyes and laid completely still.
“Are you finished with that half-assed attempt to fight me?” Thor asked, Loki didn’t answer “I don’t know what has brought this on, what the hell did I do to you?” He waited “Damn it Loki, answer me!”
“I am not meant for this lifestyle” Loki said, finally opening his eyes “She knows it, you know it...hell everyone knows it, so what the hell am I doing?”
“What lifestyle?” Thor asked confused, he lifted the hammer and allowed the other man to stand but made sure not to turn his back or put the hammer down.
“This married life” He answered “Kids...all that...shit” He made a face “She wants me to help Remus with his Lycanthropy issue because it’s my fault...I don’t help, I don’t do the whole sympathy thing”
“How is it your fault?” Thor asked and was greeted with the story of what he had done and the first wolf-child. He wasn’t amused but he could hardly blame him either, he too had once been a wild teen that made mistakes but still he couldn’t understand what was bothering his brother so much.
“She looked at me” He said “I went over to hug her because she was sad and she pulled away and gave me this look like...I’ve never seen it before”
“What was it?” Thor asked, briefly wondering why they hadn’t felt the emotions going through her.
“It’s like she blamed me” He said “But like she hated me for not helping him”
“She’s disappointed in you” Thor told him “And you don’t like that feeling”
“Well!” He snapped.
“Hermione has always...always looked at you like you were a god to her” Thor pointed out “Like you could do anything, be anyone and help or hurt anyone that deserved it and to her, Remus deserves to be happy and as un-afflicted as possible and here you are, refusing to help her when she wants it most”
“But” Loki looked at him “What do I do?”
“Be a man” Thor answered “And figure out what you truly want, a relationship with your wife and kids or a life being the villain because you want to make people suffer for no apparent reason?”

A/N: I hope you liked this and I was very happy to see my reviews. I hope you keep on reviewing they are the fuel that keeps my thoughts coming. Hope you don’t hate Loki too much in this chapter and I love Remus... I have some interestingly HUGE plans for him!!

Also I am going to be speeding this story up in a chapter or two to when Liddy is going off to Hogwarts and Levi is older, I really just wanted to fill in some holes, tell me what you think about this!
